About This Class

Fonts aren't standalone design elements. How well fonts go together can make or break a great design. In this class, seasoned designer and Visme founder Payman shares top tried-and-true principals with you on how to combine the best fonts.

In this video crash course we will dive into:

1. Type of fonts. This knowledge will help you distinguish the different between different font families

2. Visual principals of contrast. In graphic design, contrast could be between foreground and background images. In font pairing contrast is necessary but expressed more subtly. We will look into a few ways we can create visual contrast in font pairs.

3. Visual principals of consistency. Don't kill your design with too much contrast or differences. Good designs are consistent and we will teach you how to be consistent with your font choices.

4. Design for content. This is a little more advanced to grasp but we will break down how to choose the font types that fit the context, so that your texts, images and fonts are in unity with each other.

Finally, we will walk you through how to bad font combinations with a real world example. Once that's done, we will ask you to practice what you've learned.
