Project Description

Make Your Own Version of the Flower Girl

Assignment: Design your own flower arrangement! Choose a specific color scheme within your current season.

What are the colors and elements that speak to you? Depending on when you take this class, as well as where you live, what flowers are available to you? Where will you be getting your flowers from - a traditional flower market, a flower shop that has already done a great deal of the leg work for you, a farm stand, your backyard?

Gather your supplies and make sure you are comfortable working with them before you begin on your actual flower project. Clippers come in all shapes and sizes, perhaps using a knife if you are bit more advanced - whatever works for you. Pick your vessel - low, 5” in diameter is a good size and shape, should be roughly equal in height and diameter. Then arrange!

  1. Decide upon what color scheme and flowers you’d like to use for your arrangement.
  2. Gather all of the supplies you need and make a beautiful arrangement that resembles the Flower Girl style – think whimisical, lush and seasonal.
  3. Take a picture of your arrangement and upload it to your Class Project -- can't wait to see what you all have created!!
