1. Flat Design Girl Promo Video: Aren't you tired of spending days, which in courses and tutorials on illustrator that gets you nowhere? See you inside. 2. Flat Design Girl Icon pt1: in this video, we're going to create this girl. I can Asper Marlon as requesting our discussion board. And I've taken the liberty off creating the new art board and the new layer for this design because I wanted to speed things up a bit. And when we take a look at this design, there are some simple shapes that I used here. So let's break this icon done real quick. We got the around the rectangle here. Thesis this the hair of this girl. We got a like 1/2 ellipse going on right here with a slight indent. You gotta know lips right here. This is the face of the girl. And of course, we got this irregular shape that that is the body off the girl. And we got the rounded director rounded background, analytical background as so yes, so pretty, pretty, pretty easy to to do once you know how to approach this kind of designed the right way. And you will know it after after this video. So let's just let's just start. Let's stop talking little. Let's just start. So I will make sure that I'm on the right layer and I will look the original and again, again? Well, yeah. Again. I will start with the wrong a rectangle to. So I'm just going to create something like that. And I'm gonna press the right arrow key to make sure that it's round it to the max. I think this should be fine. And I think I will start adding colors as we go. So I'm gonna make this, uh, this stark red. Maybe this thing brown collar. Yeah. This girl will be a rat had Yeah, I like Red has. She's but she's gonna be a redhead. So right now what I want to create, we want to create this this part of her hair. So that's as easy or simply creating and not around it rectangle on the lips. So I'm going to create it, something like so this should be fine. And I'm gonna move it, move it a bit up. And in the Petfinder panel, of course, I have both these shapes selected and in the Pathfinder panel, I'm going to choose this option right here that says divide. Like so and with the direct selection talk us, remember that this is a group. We can see that in the top left corner. This is a group, so I could communicate with the elements of a group by using the direct selection tool. I'm just going to click on the stop part that I don't need and I'm gonna simply delete. And now I think I will have a group. These guys, And what I want to do now is I want to create this end, and and I will do that with the mental. That's gonna be the easiest I think and the quickest. So I'm just gonna simply collect something like that. And with the still this shape selected, and I will add to my selection to talk part off her hair, and this time in the Pathfinder, I'll choose minus front just like that. So we are already starting to see what her hair is going to look like. And now we will create her, her face, her head. Okay, now that we have the set off their hair selected, created, I wanna create her face and I want to do that. I'm gonna do that with that with the ellipse stool. So I'm simply gonna grab it from the tools panel and create an L lips just like that. This should be fine. I don't want to be. I don't want it to be a perfect circle. I wanted to be an oval. Some gun. This should be fine. I'm gonna give it a proper color. Select all these guys on the line to the center. Of course. Her hair. It needs to be on top like so. And right now, what we could do is we could simply select the bottom anchor point and Nagy it down to emphasize to create the jaw line. But I think that this is not enough. What I want to do right now is I want to go to the object menu, select path, add anchor points, and as we already know, it added on equal amount of anchor points to our design. So now when I grab this bottom anchor point and move it down, you can see that we're creating online Joel line, just like so we're in denting her and her chin slightly like that. And we got we got Basically, our shapes are created. We can make just a bit bigger. Maybe maybe 100 and 5% would be fine. Maybe moving a bit down ever so slightly. Let's make sure that is it's nicely aligned, properly aligned. Okay, so in the next video, we are going to create our neck and the blouse. And we are going to do that with this one. Shape this irregular shape and we are not going to do that with the Penta. We are going to do that with some other tool that's gonna be revealed in the next video. So if you're interested, keep watching. 3. Flat Design Girl Icon pt2: Okay, So in this video, as promised, we're going to create her neck and shoulder. And I mentioned in the previous previous video there were not going to use the panel for this. And we are going to use the Ark tool, which will, as you'll see in a moment, work perfectly fine and really, really great in this kind of a design scenario. So I'm gonna grab it, maybe let yours first make our make our stroke simple black, so you can see the better. And I will choose the Ark tool from my tools panel, and I'll just simply create create first arc like that. And of course, we already know or all of you who watched my illustrator and logo design, of course already know that to flip a narc like this one, all we need to do is to press the F key just like that. And now we can. Now we can manipulate her, manipulate her her neck. Can I say that we're going to create her neck just like that and a part of her shoulder? I think this should do it. This would be fine. Move it a bit to the to the left. And now we are going to continue creating this well, treating her shoulder by just adding another art like it like So I'm gonna flip it again and this one just a bit down to somewhere here. Now, I will select both these guys and simply goto object bath and join just like that. And, of course, what I need to do. Write downs. I need to reflect this part of her shoulder to the right. And I will do that in relation to her, to her jaw line and actually in relation to the bottom anchor point of her jaw. So I'm just gonna alter option. If you're on a Mac, click on the anchor point. I won this reflection to Vertical. And, of course, when I hit copied, not. Okay. Okay. So if I now select both these guys and hit control or command J twice, I already have a nicely looking shoulder. Well, body, actually, two shoulders in the neck and I'm gonna sample the face color. And there we go. We don't We got our body body created. Of course, we could play around with the curvature off the off the arcs all day long. we can now even adjust the curvature with some direction handles right here. But I'm gonna leave it up to you. I'm gonna leave it for you to experiment. I want to show you the design process Onda way. You could approach designs like this one. So now what I want to do is I want to create this shading effect right here. And I will do that with the help of the line segment told. So I'm gonna activate it by President backslash key. But I'm gonna draw a humble line like that. And of course, I will add the body to my selection and in the Pathfinder tool again, I'm gonna hit divide like that. And now this top part that I can communicate with by pressing by selecting with the direct selection toe, I'm gonna make it this darker. This dark orange did this burnt orange color. But of course I wanted to have a nice film, not the stroke like that. And I'm gonna make my face and hair go all the way to the top, just like that. Okay? Now, what I need to do is I need to create the color and the blouse and that's as simple as grabbing the rectangle tool and creating one like that. This be fine. I'm gonna move it to 45 degrees and I want to make it. This may be off white collar and slightly bigger. 10 points should be fine. And I'm gonna move it a bit up to somewhere here. Maybe. Let's make it just a bit more than the stroke. Just a bit thicker. I'm gonna make sure everything is like properly. Now it is. And what I want to do right now is I want to get rid of the top anchor points. I'm going to select it with the direct selection tool and simply hit delete. And now we'll go to object. Expand. And I'm just gonna hit OK and really doesn't. That doesn't matter which option you choose. Just hit, Okay? And now I will move this guy in this bottom anchor point a bit down. Something like this should do it. And again add the body to my selection. Go to the Pathfinder tool and hit divide once more. And I will get rid of these these parts right here. And we got the color created, so all we need to do right now is to give the gift. This blouse, some nice color is gonna beat this blue collar. And there we go. If you want to play around with her hair, If you want to make it longer, I think I'm gonna make it longer s. So we're just gonna grab the bottom part of a rounded rectangle and just nudge them, not the ankle points of it down, like so I'm gonna make her a bit smaller, so I'm going to select everything, make make her smaller, and I will just create an ellipse like so. This should be fun. I'm gonna make green put it in the bottom. Let me move it a bit up that you see what's gonna look like? Yeah. I'll make it just a bit smaller. Nodded a bit down. This should be fine. Okay, So I'm generally I'm just going to copy it into my clipboard and move this guy all the way up, so I'm gonna just press control a shift right bracket or command ship. Right bracket. If you're on a Mac, select all these guys and simply go controller command seven to create a clipping mask and remember that we still have our our circle breakdown circle copied into our clipboard so we could go object skidding at it, Basing back or simply control beat, is it to pace it in back just like that? And okay, we got our design created. So definitely comment on this one. Share your thoughts in the discussion board and tell me what you think about it and definitely have a nice design.
