About This Class

Hello, everyone. My name is Anna. I am an artist

I have been working with the palette-knife for more than 7 years. I have developed a special technique of working with palettte-knife. It took a lot of time and effort for me to become a professional palette-knife artist.

I want to share my knowledge with you. I want to tell you all I know about palette-knife painting. I'll show you how to create different pictures.

I've developed a basic course on palette-knife painting. I believe that it's necessary for you to complete the course before you start painting your pictures.

In order to make it more convenient for you, I divided the course in several modules.

Supplying materials

I will tell you everything you need to know about supplying materials and tools you'll use. first of all, I'll tell you about palette-knives. You'll learn about different types of palette-knives I'll also show you the most convenient palette-knife to work with.

We'll continue discovering the world of art by learning more about canvases. I'll tell you several facts about canvases. I'll also tell you how to choose the best canvas to work on.

Our next lesson will be devoted to oil colors. I'll show you how oil colors should look. We will speak about the basic colors.

Once we finish talking about supplying materials, I'll show you how you can organize your working space. This is a very important aspect because you should feel comfortable when creating your pictures.

It's time to move on to the next module.

Palette knife

First of all, you need to learn how to hold a palette-knife in your hand.

The first lesson of the module is devoted to this topic.

I'll show you how to push on your palette-knife so that you can make perfect dabs.

We'll continue learning more abote the technique of palette-knife painting. I'll show you various types of strokes you can make when working with a palette-knife.

We'll practice doing different exercises so that you can get used to working with a palette-knife.


We'll learn a lot about the colors we use for painting our pictures.

We'll practice blending colors. You'll see the way one color gradually turns into another one.

I'll also tell you about the process of mixing colors.

We'll learn to get a number of different colors using only 3 basic ones. I'll also show you how you can stretch your colors. This is a special technique of palette-knife painting.

To sum up, we'll learn blending and mixing the colors we have in order to have the exactly colors we want.

That's it. This course provides basic knowledge that every beginner artist should have.

Please, watch all the lessons. Watch them one by one, following their order. Do not forget to do homework I give after each lesson. If you do everything you need to, you'll kearn the basics of palette-knife painting rather fast.

Once you complete this course, we'll start creating pictures.

First, we'll create rather simple pictures. We'll paint landscapes

Then we can make flowers or butterflies.

Sometime later, we'll start painting more complicated pictures.

We'll paint cities, buildings and streets.
