Feel free to use them for your own art projects. These glazes grade for anal level can be useful for beginners if you've watched my previous classes for intermediate level and for experienced artists, probably here you can find an inspiration and new ways how to pay in birds in different styles. Your class project will be next. Create a composition with one of the birds that you like most, or paint all of them using the achieves and brushes that I gave you today. I will use procreate for this class, v's iPad and Apple pencil. So if you have it or some Mazur drawing pets or just regular watercolor paper in pains. Please join our class and good luck. 2. Getting ready : So that is, I think the analyst gets started. And for today's class who are going to obey ends with three amazing illustrations of births in completely different styles. So our first illustration, we'll be in a vertical style. And a second one, we'll be created in ink. And a third van, we're gonna make it in oil painting style. So for today's class guys, I have textured paper for you as well as preteen U1 and settled brushes is called birds. And we have couple of minor you brushes and native procreate Russia's is started. And first of all, we need to create extra paper. And for sad, we need to go to provide checks and sources section. And guys, keep in mind you need to do it from your browser so you can download all my freebies if you are in app, skill share app. So please go ahead and go to the browser. And in a browser in the right corner, in the right corner here we have a sources headline. And, and under this headline we have all our freebies. So is it a paper three, our new takes your paper enough to say it. You go to Action button. And after said, press, add, insert as file. Then after that, you need to rotate said fit discrete. Makes perfect. We can turn off our births for awhile. Now guys, Our next step is we need to replicate our texture paper to tags and some moat to Linear Burn and colorbar knowledge. After said, legal duplicate leaner burn modes, sometimes in killer bird two-times as well. After that merge together and merge together enough to move Linear Burn mode to around 50%. And colorbar mode is fine. So upgrade now reveal, group all layers and really rename it. Okay, perfect. After say it will praise for press. It's somewhere on the top. And now you need to paint on Denise off our texture paper. And I have my amazing bird, see swan guys, all this cage is also idle exit. Let's go ahead and now lots. So first one is just pretty bird, then you're going to pay in sat, in what Acuff style. So let's go. 3. Watercolor bird: coloring: So let's go and for today's class, I actually created color palette, that's called birds. And we have different roles. We have three rows semi at three pictures. So the first row will be flow of first picture, second row with the second picture and third one for the third picture. So this is pretty simple and OK, well let's go and speaking about brushes, I will go and grep for marshmallow watercolour brush. If you need to be on any layer and in nice hours kitchen layer. And I guess I'm going to show you how to use a reference picture. So for this you go to Actions button. And after you go to Canvas and press reference, that's great. But if you need to download our picture, so instead you go to images. And after that press input image and you will download the image from your folder. We can zooms at one. And as you might see it, it's very, very convenient hand to smoke summary here. And in this way, you see our reference picture will not disturb tennis. So you can avoid, you can consume our reference picture, do whatever you like. And it's very, very convenient. And guys, all our reference pictures, you might get also in sources sec section and all the pictures I found on our website on Splash.com. So now instead of coloring, that smoked a darker color. Okay. And the first thing that you need to do, of course, you need to feel all areas with some particular color. And it's this branch. If you press hard there, you'll have more pigment. Darker shade. I think we've done with this part. And second here you have some small parts between eight to feel this in as a counter. But now let's tweak lags as I say here. Okay, and then very later and we'll use some specific branch for details. And as you might see in a sketch and layer, I already showed you some shades to parts where you need to add some darker colors. But on today's step, I'll main point now is to start adding colors everywhere because later, thanks to zed, colors feel, feel, some areas with some other shades or highlights. Great. Now let's move to treat. And for this part I will go in, grab says and brown color and criticize obser brash. And once again, keep in mind said, we need to add different shades so we can use just one brown color everywhere. We need to add some color variations like what VT to visit Burt. And in this way we'll go to dark purple color and also add some shades. Because thanks to the sun, we have light side on the top of our branch and underneath we have shadow. Okay, great. And as a blend there guys, we're gonna go and use a brush. 4. Watercolor bird: blending colors: Okay, our next part is, I'm going to go in them locate this layer two times. And now as you might see, this is so pride. It's what I wanted to have. Maybe a lowers up base2 deal, 77% enough to merge that together and says just perfect. And then my next step is I'm going to go and replicate this layer. And I will move to the lower layer. And after you go to hue saturation and brightness, press layer and turn to uprightness till maximum. And after replicated a few times. While we are doing, as you might see, these out, white background, our birth is not, is transparent. And this white color can help us to keep a sauce thick layer that will help us to add shades ran, we're going to use selection tool or clip and Mask Mode goes if our birds is transparent, as it might be a problem for us for an OLS, it's shapes because they simply will not be reasonable because our birth is transparent. So just surviving need to add sauce. Many avoids us transparency. We need to create a sum, a layer thick background underneath our bird. That's what we are doing. R. So v field also areas with a white color. And now thanks to set V can add sand sheets. We can use a clipping mask mode. So now guys, I'm going to go and march together two layers. So now our birth is not transparent and, or, and we have so swot code texture. And my next step is I'm gonna go and press Select. And after zed, either go and blend into, and I will start blending. Why I'm doing that? Because what I blend, I don't want to go beyond the edges. And when I use a selection mode, it will help me, it will help me to stay in the edges of our bird. So I will not go beyond the edges he saved. I can't do that. I can just pay and on the area where we already paid. And I want to avoid as escapes. And I wanted to create a feeling, said, it's watercolor painting. This high need to blowers edges, not everywhere, but in some parts of I you see two sharp, like here, for example, 70 blurs the edges. It might look very natural. You actually can use full marshmallow watercolour brush as a blenders well, but as is planned. And I'm gonna go and to have some texture. When I blend our Bert, spy decided to use Charolais brush. That's pretty suitable for watercolor painting. To select our birth and we blended just amazingly. And guys, Our next step is I'm going to go and I want to add some shades. And before we start, I didn't say so. I'm gonna and talk about set as a way, how can we h at x0? 5. Watercolor bird: adding shades: And either grab a dry brush. So I am going to explain you briefly what is Shades, what is shaded in and what are the highlights and everything. So, and we will use our birth as an example. So this is bald is our bird. And as you might see it, because of the highlight here, because I've lived because he was a highlight in this area. We have sun froms arrived side. So here we have sung. So as it means that in this way we have shadow. Let's just spend more. As an example. What does it mean for us? So right away we pay and any object, we need to remember that all ultra exist squares, triangles, this figures. So all of them that have specific shape and our birth has a shape of a ball, you see here. And what does it mean if you have a light side from the right side, it means that this area will be pretty pre to light. It means that here we will have the lightest part as you, the problems is edge as the beak of the bird is very light. And on the contrary, resists part is in shadow. Maybe it's not clear here in the picture because it's pretty bright. But steel, you might see is that this area is in shadow or the round. That means that when we pay and when we're going to shade something, you're gonna pay in this part in the shadow exist. So here we have darkest shade. Thanks it. You might shade it in anyway, you like, you're going to use keller brush for shadings. And so once again, this part is lighter. So here we have pretty medium shade. Is this part still? It will be shade but not a dark. Okay. Then I'll set why we are using blend and tool nucleus here you might see betweens medium shade and dark shade, we have a pretty huge gap. And in this way we use our blending tool in order to avoid those gaps. So you'll just blurs this part. So as you might see, as it means is this is a little brightest side because it's closer to the sun. So this area is lighter. So you have a medium shade is in a meter and we have a dark one. And it's the area where the sun is pretty far from us. And also you have a shade from our object is also very important. And because also birds you don't see so shades. Halves m and we have a shade ride in opposite side froms is x1. And simply as its it. So guys, we're going to use those rules when we pain's a br once again, we have light side from the right side. It means it's a shadow we have from the left side. And it says meadow parts will be a half tone. It's medium shade part, so you need to shade it as well, but not sit heavily as you do in the left side. And also it's very important, especially for watercolor to blends against. You see, he blends edges between a light side of medium shade and between medium shade and a hard shade. So, so guys, I hope now everything is clear and I'm gonna show you on our birth how to add some shapes. So I will create a new layer and I will press it its own atop of our birth. And that'll press clipping mask. It means that I can band to band just on the area where we have our bird, where our bird is colored. And what as a difference between a selection mode, what we did before, and between clipping mask is at set everything that we paint in a clipping mask mode, He's on different layer. So if it alive, you can just simply turn it off. So that's why I like to use clipping mask L1 and saying, let's go and grab Charolais a brush. Once again, one of my favorites. And I will go and grab colors. And I will just start add-in sauce shaped. So once again, from this area, we have shapes, so we have more dark elements. But also don't forget some of the textures we might add to all era all around. And also, like in the end of our class, I will show you, is it you might keep us sketching layer or you can turn it off. It's all up to you. But I prefer, I think I will keep this layers because it will help me to show all those details. You see all those phasors. But once again, it's up to you each way of paint and you want to keep. And here in this area, because we have our birds and we have a tree and objects are close to each other. This is why in part because they are close to each other. We have a shape like seas. And don't forget that shapes, shade forms as part. So once again, you might see that we have darker part in seas area to show some light signs. So I think we've done music's pars and almost all the way down. And then my next step is I'm gonna go and I'm gonna add some texture Seidel go-to bullet a colored background. And I need to create a new layer. I will place it a inet alpha clipping mask mode enough to, I will put it on a top here. This brush will help us. Some would call it texture. And also says process could for A1 sheets as far as human c, I will just shade this part. Pops-up Bertha Leto bit. Keep Rizzolatti, and my next homeless bar that will go and grab poor oriental dry brush. And I'm going to just go and add some, some lines, some shades. And for this way I will create a new layer. And I don't need to be in a clique and Mask Mode. I just wanted to show some sides. I want to emphasize main parts. Okay. Thanks it. It's something between pencil and brush. It's predicted for Ed and hoses sheets in details. And after sad, what else he can do? He can just go and turn off us kitchen layered legs, a head. And now a bird is pretty lovely. And probably I want to blend some sharp areas. Maybe I want to make some nonsense saturated. To a 2% is something. And I think we can turn off our reference layer, either needs it anymore. In this our birthdays Albert, where either pencils cage of beach, i'm gonna keep actually. So we've done this, our first painting, and I hope you enjoyed that lab. And our next painting, you gotta go and paint in inks. 6. Bird in ink: coloring: So this unexplained in ANSYS Birth field be painted in style. And I will go and also grab a reference layer. So we'll go to Actions pattern can this and press reference. And I'm gonna go and choose a new one. So import image. So we have our burdens. So normally you look at it because this cause there's so cured. So let's pains at birth and I will start. And you guys buys away as speaking about color palette as this colors for this part, you'll be in a third draw, Sandro, he's, he said, and for this for this paint and I'm going to use driving crash. And once again, keep in mind, you need to be underneath our kitchen layer. The laser visual turn off hours kitchen layers. That's why keeps it in mind and they just start coloring. And I will start with this page color. And this painting takes time because you need to feel everything. We've just says brash, by this financials guys is also you might turn off this texture paper if you want to keep it because I like this textured paper, but it's all up to you. And also you have significant increases, size, increases as darker shade. We need to close at if is such kind of strokes. Rex is also time. If you want, you can just feel that area is just one color, but later or Fest later at some x and some details have an orange color. Not everywhere, of course. Right? Well, now let's go to surprise his color. And let's start adding some highlights. And here speaking about his birds will also have a light side, have sand thrones and right side. And from the left side we have shape. You see in this bar, this partisan shade and beak, because the lower parts of a beak is in shade as well. It's that keeps it in mind and add more lights, more lines towards this. Okay, here we have slightly shade. And also alight. Cool point about his brush that you can paint on a top and you don't overlap with the adage color is as a shades. So if you forget about some part, it's buy-in. Just come back and paint on top of other colors and you will define the set. Now I'm going to go and grab darker color, darker shaped in order to show us to dark. Thanks. Yeah. 7. Bird in ink: adding final details: Now let's return. Dark blue colored. Yeah, like couple of strokes. Now let's go to peach color. Had some shades in xA, xB powered. Now, let's finish. This began to last bar to enter drove his act. So this party. Now last one, the sparsity. Look, they're so cute. And it wouldn't go and grab. Here you arrest color. So here we also need to show shades. Are key grade done with this part, this file, and now the last one, paint some kind of stone or treat grade. Of course, I could create a new layer and paint underneath of everything, but I just wanted to save some time. So once again, we have a Shadows falls froms a left side so as a shade also also from the left side and the light side. In from right side. We have a light side here, and I will show you with our shadow as well. So he decided to make this part, that part of a tree stone. And once again try to remove so skips you remember, between light side and half, shade, make it not set to o plus t predict court case now they can turn off. She hours kitchenware ends its pretend Lovely and I'm going to go at light sheets here. And it cannot be green or it can go and change the color of this part. For example. Just in your aids. Press as our concentration and brightness and play is common for each party. For me, this part is predefined. But keep in mind, this is arrays pretty bluish. So I do like how it looks, so let's keep it that way. And guys as elasto incline out detail. So I'm gonna go in it more shades here. So now we can turn off our reference picture. And they've done is our second one and base in Andover class, you're going to create beautiful composition will be this painting. Now let's multiply OPT. 8. Bird in oil painting: coloring: Sets are less birds and you're gonna pains as birth in oil style. So I'm going to lower sat by city and either call and grab all beach first. And speaking about color palette, we're going to use some middle one you see. And I need to reference picture slot. We need to see how terrain shades and everything. So I will go actions Biden, canvas and reference sets our bird. That k, we're going to use it, put it somewhere here. Let us start one by one and go start resist Keller. And once again it will go and grab, hold each branch. And in this process you remember if you press harder, you will have more pigment. And if you press lighter, less pigment, you go and grips like it darker, shamed. And now speaking about the remember our ball and light sides and dark side. So now we have a son froms a left-side. It means from the right side, we have shade. So you see this part of the bird is totally in light. It's pretty light. Ends the opposite side, which is from the right side, we have shade all around. So it keeps it in mind for any ads shades. And also here we have some reflection. Orange reflection from LAX isn't a watercolor. Okay, SPI here, we can just add some yellow lines here all around. And we'll add shadows, promises parked in court. Well now you've got a grab a darker shade. Here. Increases size. Shows us gradient. Insist part. Darker shade. Dispatch reminds me pan weight. So especially for oil paint in your car and he was just one color everywhere. As such, will not work like sad. And also guys, I don't use entirely black color. It's this color is dark, dark blue. You can see the shades of gray. Hello. 9. Bird in oil painting: adding shades: Now as blended tool, we're gonna go and grab turpentine, I think just right now. So for oil painting is very important is to have that background. And now I'm going to go on that some background, such as a type of pretending there's a descendant of offer and gone abroad. Grab. Lied. Oh, calendar. That's unexpected. Kitchen layer to minimum was something like sad. That I'm gonna go and create a new layer and I will press. And that's once again what I'm gonna do. I know that the Cato and it's very lovely at a lower self paucity enough to merge set to Gezer. Same ival told his our background off to W K2 on what time he was iteration the brightness and turn brightness to maximal, replicates it couple of times and merge together. Let's just same ways our background. I can now i'm going to add some chaise press clips and ask, have same brush and I'm gonna add some shades, tools, a bird. Well, our next step is I'm gonna go and merge two layers together. And I need to merge two layers together with our Burt. And my next step is I will go to a blend and tool turpentine brush. And I just want to turn off us kitchen layers. That's important. Oh, lend some barris oil painting book. That means that satellites will not be clear. You see, I just blend 71 each other. It looks extremely beautiful. As I told you that I need to be well Detail 10-6 kind of style. To show highlights here. Highlights bronzes. Now, let's go to actually binds and turn off our reference layer. And we've done these, Albert and guys, I hope you enjoyed the tutorial of paintings is barred in coil, pained and style. In our next part is we're going to create a beautiful composition. Ways out. You can Bert. 10. Class project: Creating composition: Okay, so we are ready and present both. I actually going to be an ad, some leaves to our, to our composition. And it's pretty simple to panes M. So what I'm gonna do is I need to create a new layer. We can turn off our bird for awhile. Grep 6B pencil. And you're going to paint a simple leafs held looks like. And then our next step is we just need to color Sam hands who said we need to create a new layer. Lovers and capacity of our lives. Go and grab green color, handwriting brush, maybe even lighter colors. And guys, and explain why we have feelin everything by via coloring. All follow-up. Just visit brush. Because as you might know, yep, they can pan to circle and after feels that area, we just specific color. But since this way you see we have this gap and also vt. And I have some text chart. That's why I tend to paint everything. We splash. Of course, as, as away, you might avoid those gap. You can just go and track enough to move it to the right. And after you can just slide theorem moves us area. You can feel it on a topic and also port our brush this fine buttons this way you might use it in a middle. You don't have texture. So that's why my suggestion is to color everything like step-by-step because your brush. Now I'm going to go and grab a darker color. Societies saucer crash. And now I want to create a new layer because I went to controls that paucity of sea lions lengths is and I gotta turn off house, kitchen layer controls out porosity, lower unzip, the ZAB passivity of our leaf. And my next step is I'm going to go and place them on different layers. So in this way, I just go to the selection tool, grab freehand. Our, our elif. I wanted to save other and three fingers down enough to cut and paste. So now behalf our leaves on completely different layers. So now we can play around, just replicates them. Turn off, talk Sam. And my next step is guys, I'm going to go into but the kids, it's once again. And after CO2, so lowered, lowered leaf, press hue, saturation, brightness, and turn it to black color. Well, that's just same reason nasa won his attrition brightness. And now let's plays situation and it was Brightness. I'm going to go and make it lighter. Saving here he's iteration brightness. Because I'm going to go and use SAM file shade dance. So let's turn it off for a while. Now we have our bird and high-voltage duplicated. Then I will place of birth somewhere in the center. And around bird. I'm gonna go and add sauce beautiful leaves and befores ad. I'm gonna go and add some texture background. So I need to create the new layers that is underneath of everything. So what I'm going to, I will just go and track book Heller and feel our birth whizzes Keller and I, I think I went to pretend light. So once again, fill layer. And also you might see some offset bird sounds or parts of pretty transparent. What we can do in this wages, go grab an eraser and you're on a layer with our background and just erases parts that are transparent. And my next step is either creating fair. And I will go and grep white color. And I have both laurels temp. As this brush is pre two, lovely. And it can help us to create those floral stamps all around. Next step. Just replicated and replicated once again. And now we have all these beautiful white floral stamps. And now our next step base and we have our leaves and legis plays him in a beautiful way. This is, Bert is already very beautiful, but as do wanted to play around to different composition elements. So my next step is I'm going to duplicate our shadings layers and I'm going to duplicate our leaves. So the first one I'm going to go Select was asleep and select our shade. And I will just select two of Sam and I will play around and decide where I want to play soldiers, thieves. I can make it smaller. The Gary, it's all up to you. And my next step is I'm going to go to my shade. And I just want to place it underneath of our leaf, like sad. And I, lawyers are positive. Okay, an octet, just merge it together. So my next step is I'm going to go and do the same with another leaf. And my next step is I'm gonna go and grab a nasa leaf. Select two layers and go to lower layer. Can be somewhere here. And lower SAP esoteric. Like sad. And let's place one more leaf and I think it is at one. And go to lower leaf. Clave is situation. And that's pretty eat savory if you like. You can just saying you can just replicate our bird and go to his tradition brightness. And you can play his pride this longer situation. And we have our shade prime bird spout.
