Let's get to the next lesson and let's get going. Learning final cut 3. FCP interface: Hi. Welcome to this. They're exciting. Final cut pro costs. My name is Craig, and my name is Josh. So we want to show you the amazing things that you could do with Final Cut Pro. We're gonna take it all the way from the basics to some really advanced and exciting features. So let's begins leaping and write the beginning where you have downloaded final cut pro. Okay, so first of all, if you just don't own it it or if you've been using it for a while, you probably have got it on your dock. Yeah, but if you just don't know did it? It's most probably on your launch pets. If you go here, you see this our final Kaprow, and you can just move it down to your down there so you can easily get easily click on it, and you always have easy access to it. So if it's the first time you've downloaded it, it might take a while to open. But after the second time, it's just gonna be quick. So if you just open it just to get the little fellow bouncing and no time you're gonna be in final cut pro right. We just want to briefly show you around just two or into as to what's going on here. If you come across from I'm movie, you're gonna find environment not that dissimilar, but we'll just give you a little bit of a walk around to see you get a feel for what's going on. But don't worry too much, because we're gonna go into all the detail of the various aspects through the course. So right in the middle here, this is where your media is going to appear. This where you will see the videos. You're about to see previews off them, that sort of lack front and center off where the action is happening. On the left hand side, here is where various things are appearing at the moment, it would probably say, entitled, We'll talk about that later, but it's the name off your projects, your events and your libraries. You have a couple of options at the top here, you Ken's switched to change the the media that you're going to be importing and the various tics to fix that, you can add. So that's our projects and the media that's importing music, etcetera and your text a fix. Very simple. Down the bottom. Here, this is essentially your timeline. The moment there's nothing happening here, we'll see that in a moment. But this is where you're going to be editing your media. What's happening along the various portions off your film that you're making again. There are a lot of a fixed you can have over here. We'll look at that and the moment showing you video effects on the far right here. We've got our sound options, and again we will look at some of the fun things that you could do with sound right at the very top. There is your normal traditional menu, where you've got file. You can create new projects. You can get a trim, etcetera. A lot of these have also got shortcuts, and we will cover those as well. So that's basically environment. Also, just to show you if you move your mouse quite carefully, you will see it changes to that shape, which means you can adjust. The size is off the different spaces. Sometimes things are a little bit bigger or a little small, and you want to try and justice size to Seymour, so you can move things in and out customized environment so that it works perfectly for you . So that, basically is a quick overview off the space. We going to be looking at it in a lot more detail. Just want to get your comfy with it up front. That is final cut pro. A quick overview. 4. library, events, projects: I know that you're really excited to get going, but before you get going, we just want to cover something else really important. If you got to file, you will notice. Under new, there are three options you have new project new event and new library. Now those are three structuring mechanisms that final cut pro users, and we have them here on the left hand side. So by default, when if you start up Final Kaprow, it immediately creates for you an untitled library, a library essentially like the biggest organizing thing. It's where everything is kept in, sort of like a library, but a library is then made up off events, so these underneath it are events by default. It's created one event, which is just based on a date, so a library consist of events. But inside an event, if you click on that, you can then have the projects that make up that event. So at the moment we don't have any projects in that event. We can very quickly create a new project if we want, and it will ask for a name. We're not going to even name it at the moment. It just want to demonstrate to you that here we now have an untitled library. We haven't events inside that library. And inside of that, we have an untitled project. Now inside the project, you will also have media that is associated with. So that could be your video clips. That could be audio clips, music. It could even be images, except for that are going to be part of that. Now, Arranging these things in the right way, as we're going to see in a future lesson is very important. We just want to show you the basics now. So let's just take an example off a project that we created for a running course on. We're gonna use this as an example going through will even talk about the filming of it, the editing of it, because they all sorts of official fix involved. But we just want open there to start with so you can get a better idea. Okay. So because we have created many libraries before every say file and we said open project, these are just some of them we've created, um, so you can see we can open. This is the running course. We did and we'll see how we structure it. So it can be nice and easy to edit it. And we don't have to waste time looking for projects. So now it is important because as the things get longer and longer, you'll see there's lots of events busy loading. This is a huge project, ultimately involved hundreds off videos that we shot. So it's going to take quite a while to open. Okay, so you'll see now how we structure it as like, we've got 1.11 point two and refer all the way down Teoh 8.3. Just note on that that we've done that because what we do and we look at this in another part of the cause is plan and specially trying to make a cause. The structure of the course. And so, obviously with ones are going to be module one the truths of model two and onwards. So it is a very handy way, especially could be creating multiple videos to try and keep track of what's going on, because again, quite confusing. So you do want to assist in the video system, the better it's going to be able for you to be out of manage things. So what we used to do when we first started making these projects would have one event and one La Brea and would have all off clips and that one event and I would get very confusing because you have luck. So many different projects and one little thing. So as you can see here, we've just got 1.1. And these are all the clips that are to do with one point. Wanna stock footage, audio at video. So we don't have to look around for those cups. So that just makes it much easier knowing where all your stuff iss? Yes. So, basically anyone that you click on the side here, so understand again, the library's name is writing easy. This is the name off the event. So deviant 1.3 and an event can have multiple projects under at the moment. We just got one project in their event, So this particular lesson was talking about the health benefits of running, and then we have multiple clips that are associated with that. So these all the clips, whether they are videos or you can even have your audio files etcetera or inside the clips for the project. So very simple. Remember, library libraries are made up of events and events are made up of projects ranging your things like that is gonna make your life a lot easier. It's gonna make it easier for when you've got a fine things, especially when you get too big projects. It's going to make it easier for you to work and then later creating special combined tracks, etcetera. It also makes it easier to keep track of where those also from the outset always stay organized. But if you stay organized, life is going to be so much better. 5. Recap and DO: during the course, we're going to keep you active the way we work and when. Where we found learning to be most effective is when it's active. So we don't want you just sitting yeah, watching movies, which can be quite appealing. We also want you doing so well constantly at the end of each little section, have things for you to do. So the stage all that we have covered is basically opening final cut pro. We looked at how you can move down to your docket, the bottom as a short cat. We've looked at opening final cut pro, and now we also looked at basically how it's structured. We looked at the various parts of final Cut Pro from your timeline down here to your various if video fixed your main screen, and then we briefly look at how it's structured around libraries, events and projects. At the moment, there's not a lot for you to do. You are starting easy, starting gently. You really have Teoh Ford you need to do at this point is go and open final cut pro on. Just take a look around. Just click on a few things, get comfortable because in the next lesson. We're going to start without project and we want you to follow along, so get comfy because the exciting journey is really about to get going now. 6. Making first lib-project: it's time to get going. At some take it the action and the activity happening in the previous lessons. We just looked at the basics, the layout on some of the aspects or how you can do different things. But this is where we actually want to get going. And what we want to do in this course is we're gonna bring you on a journey we create today large video online training course around running there in a five kilometre, another 10 to half marathon and zero to marathon courses that included hundreds of videos and lots of other media. We want to show you part off their journey and how we did it. So to begin with, what we've got to do is we need to create a library that we talked about it earlier. That library is that the overall cap surely might put Call it that holds everything in it and inside the library. You then have events and projects, so we want to create a library, and so we're going to do that. So let's begin by creating a library for this course that we're going to be demonstrating. Okay, so the first thing you're going to do is go appear with your final Capone excesses file, and you got this new. So if you just creating new LaBrie as you know, we just got the open library, but effort you first, Tom, making this la brea, we're gonna say new LaBrie and this is really you really want Decide where you gonna put this? LaBrie? Okay, so, default. It's probably gonna say some way to your computer's hard drive. So if you're making, like, a home video video of your trip or like a YouTube video, you might just want to save it to your computer's hard drive, because that's not gonna take up too much space. But if you making a four course or professional shoot, it's gonna eventually take up lots and lots of your computer states. These things eat each space. So we found it's best, especially with me doing a big project like our running projects and various other big courses. We do that we create the one external hard drive. It also makes it easier for us to back up. It brings in one space, and we can just copy that into multiple external hard drives, so choose where you're going to create this library. Okay, so as you can see right here, we've got a hard job, president. So if we click yah, it's gonna automatically save running easy. LaBrie to this hard drive so you can see we've got quite a few library sha and we can say when you could just quickly even see some of them. For example, there's part about running easy 1 269 gigs there. Other parts is another one of here 130 kicks. So these are not small puppies. These are can be real chompers, and as a result, you might want to think about where you're going to store them. Also, when you're creating your library, just decide what you're doing. So we creating one project here. So when we were creating are running project was one project that so you put everything in a library, you might just have a library scored, general one titled, If you want to leave it, that sort of generate that's got a little home videos you've created. But do you think about that what you're gonna call it and where you're going to save it? So just what we're gonna do That this one is called this running running course. That sounds like a great name for it. So we're gonna try and demonstrate to you what we did as we go through. So this one we're gonna call running course, and it's going to be stored as we showed you on the external drive. Okay, so now when we've got a big A project like this, it is not good. We have it stored on external driver. Can easily move it back to our computer if we need to. Because sometimes you don't always bring your hard job. Where the ego. So you'll see. Now there's actually two libraries and open at the moment. There's the untitled one, which is the default one. There's nothing in that on. And we can close that one because it's just irritating with you to see it. And also, if you have to me alive is open source. They're going to put a strain on your computer memory and processing. So you don't really want help or your libras open if you got multiple libraries. Okay. So as you can see, we've got out running course library. This is just like a smart folder. So this wouldn't be event. This is where you can store different videos and stuff. But we are not going to use that because we're gonna need the store, all our videos and or ah, content on events so we can delete this folder. And as you can see, if we want a name, it NASA, so we don't get confused. This is where black we did in our last one. We chose a good name, so we just had to enter. We can rename it so we can just call it running. So they've been What you gonna do with it? You know, we showed you earlier all ours had numbers like 1.1 because we had a certain structure to it, so you can call it whatever. But let's just give you an example. Let's make this 1.1 hour intro video. So we use the numbers and sort of some title does help, but that doesn't say in true, but it's close enough. So again, giving things names is going to make it easier for So what we've got so far, we've got a live record running course and the moment. We have got one event court intra video. Okay, now, if you click on this vain Goc is just disruption for import media. So this is where we're gonna wanna put a project. So this is gonna be project where we store all over, But a seriously import media automatically create, like, an untitled project. So it's easier and still So you click on this event Iraq click and you can see you've got these options new project, and then inside of that, you can call it 1.1 and then you see oh, safe practice under this bank, you've got your project and right in the moment there's no media there. We're gonna look at that in the next lesson. So quite simple. So all we've done so far is we have created a library with an event on inside that projects . And so we are now ready. You sort of got that capsule the housing ready to port our media in and begin to start the exciting journey off using final cut pro for editing 7. Importing: we're busy demonstrating now how we can get going. So at this stage, we've has quite simply created a library. We have created an event on we've got a project, but we don't have any media insider project. So step number one is we want to import video media that we're gonna be using the project and there a couple of ways in which you could do this. Okay, so the first way how you could do this is probably if you're working on a bigger project like this you don't want to do. But if you obviously have you working on, like, a travel video or just a video, you made it home or something like YouTube video, something like that. This could be easier. So every go file and we can say import. Or you could just take a mind. Ah, if you said that you open the slow window here and Scott or the videos we've got from this hard job, it's not showing them. Based on the four walls. A in was we've got hundreds of videos on this hard drive. You can see at the bottom there, loading clip whatever off 2600 So this is great in the sense that it gives you a nice little thumb now, love of it. But it can be hard to find the videos that you're looking for. Yes. So there is a much easier way to do this if you just hop across defined, right? And so if you're across and Finder, you can quite easily just browse to where you've got your file stored. So we've got them stored under this particular folder, and you cannot Obviously you need to know what any of these is. Obviously we kid quite easy. Just hit the space bar on any of them. Just have a quick look and crk that's that video. Or you could even change it to have a thumbnail view off what the videos are. So what? It was going to be easiest for you, but the bottom line here, what you do is you can either do it one at a time. But let's just say, for example, I just want to take a couple of these. I wanted to take that on that one. I'm gonna take those so you could do that by clicking command. So click on the 1st 1 If you want to select multiple just holding down the command baton and clicking the ones that you once as you click them, they will be selected. Alternatively, you can click the 1st 1 you want holding down the shift button and go to the last one you want, and it will choose all of those. So those are the ways of what you can choose media. Just to give you a quick example, I now want to take those so I can now drag and move into final cut pro. Now, just be careful. When you are doing that, you have the correct events selected because otherwise it's gonna take the media into another event. So when you got multiple events, make sure that one is selected to Thailand. Did you can see? So now what's happened? We have a live record running course. Underneath this, we have the intro video Onda Azan event, and underneath that we have one project protocol 1.1, and underneath that we've got the clips that are associated with it, and I can now very easily go across and see which clips they are picking on each one and on the right inside, you can see the clip, so that's importing your media. Ready? Simple. You can drag and drop it or you can use final cut pros Command I to import. 8. Moving media to the timeline: looking at the basics of final cut pro. In our previous lesson, we looked at importing media and we've got some of the media they're on in this lesson. We're going to be looking at taking that media down onto a timeline to begin the editing process. But before we do that, let's grab some more interesting drone footage that we've got. So we've got some fun and media to play with a case A of our hop over to my finder. You'll see. I've got this drone footage. So I do take, um I do take some stuff with my join when we traveling in all of that kind of stuff. And it doesn't matter if you don't have a trainer, you know, had this. This is just to give an example off when editing how we can, like change speeds and all of that testing of yourself an interesting shot. So we'll just take some of this for now. Again, we're gonna look at lots of different types of media as we go through this course. This is drone footage. We've got footage that was shot outside someone cameras, some on on iPhones. We've also got 42 which is shot in studios to some of the more advanced lessons we're gonna look at chroma keying, removing our so called green screening and those sort of things. So we want to give you lots of examples of different times the footage and how you can work with it. So it just pulled in some more 40. So again, quick reminder. You understand? Library, of course, running course, which is all currently sitting on eggs and a hard drive made up off this particular event, which is our first video, that we want to create 1.1 intra video and then we've got a project. A project name is 1.1, and it is not good. A series of clips, that part of it. So what we want now do is we want to take some of these clips and stop toe work with them, so you simply have to just drag the clip and drop it on your time line at the bottom. So the bottom section is your timeline to you. Grab, clip, click it and drop it, and as you drop it, you will see it starting to build a timeline. All of your clips down the bottom. And this is the central area. With all the action takes place, this is really going to be doing well at editing, moving around changing speeds. Exception. Okay, So what you also notice is that this cup of here has audio that is within the camera. So this is just your camera's audio, obviously not an external mark. So you might not be getting the same quality. And with the drawing here has got no audio because or you would be hearing is a buzzing sound. So that's important because we are gonna be looking at audio how to fiddle with it. We were looking a later lesson. How to bring an external microphones how to synchronize those that is just has pointed out . You can notice the which ones have got audio and even the volumes. The one thing you also noticed is as you click on this cup over here, he can review really crooked the top. Yeah, so you just took on the clip. You bring your mouse and the school through it so you can be like, OK, yeah, this was the Clippers looking for this is just of them running eso we just bring it onto the timeline and day there were running somewhere the little dot down there, so that was a great shot off us running on the side of a cliff. So you're basically carry on dragging and dropping the media. You don't have to stress too much about this office. You want to get a rough sort of sequences to what you would like, but you can move that around at any stage. Okay, You see now, and you hit the space bar. This is just going to run through what we have rack yet. So this is basically a preview of what we have made. So this is not gonna breathe. This is not gonna be your final product, because it's gonna be a different quality because, as you can see, under the view section, we have it saved as a bit of performance. So this means when we are playing a clip, it's gonna lower the quality, so don't worry about that. So the reason for that is because we want to try and render things quickly about the So you're notice you you might not notice, but the audio is not the same quality as a few using a different mark. If you do have an external mark, you were very quickly noticed that it is a different quality. Also you. If you're really sharp, you might notice. Right at the top, PR is looks like a little pie chart thing. As it is, they are background tasks happening all the time. Soon as you are moving something you'll see, it is it's busy rendering doing the background. It's trying to make sense of what you've just added to. Did you apply filters, etcetera. Final Kapros constantly working to try and render what you're doing. There will be a final render when you actually produce your video, which would go through that process again. But it's constantly obviously trying to take the various clips and effects and build them into what you can see here in the central screen here. So that's really is quite simple. You just drag different media that you want onto your timeline, and if you want to see how it looks, we can just hit the space bar. What you can also do is if you want to see it in full screen, you can go across to their click it play full screen, and so it'll play your clip in full screen so you can get a better idea. Drag the slider along to see how things are going. Okay, so while you are not busy editing, so if you just had your master day, it will automatically start rendering. So this means if you play, it will be in a better quality because it is not, that is, has finished rendering, and it also save foster. But you don't have to worry about that. Rather Despont in your editing and let that do it butts off. Okay, so that is moving clips across to your timeline. On our next lessons, we will take it up and start to see how we can cut things into things and add or sort of cool things using final cut pro. 9. Blade: in our previous listen, we looked at moving the media there. We've got inside our project downtown timeline. And so we've got some media on our timeline here. You can if it's ah, for example, we got a long clip here, and if you want, you can use your pinch to zoom in and out so you can see mawr off what's going on? Because sometimes it's not so easy, or you can actually click the drop down at the top there, and you can choose Zoom, which also allow you to zoom in and out so you can Seymour media or less media. Yeah, you're also notice you might not know. How does demography using this function? But if you are using lack, if you're not using a track pad but using mouse, you will have to use this zoom option. So you just click Kano's human. And if you had options or Ault uco come with a monos symbol on. Do you just hold that down and you click, But obviously you've got a touch pad. You can use your pinch in and out to zoom in A. It is helpful, especially as these media clips get quite long and you've got lots of them. You sometimes want to see what is going on. And so now it's a lot quicker right now we wanna have a look at is how you can start to top these things up. Because, yeah, we got a great to see the footage, the around drones. But we don't need the whole thing. So there's an option at the top. They called Blade. So as you can imagine, Blade And it looks like a Blaine and razor blade. It's going to start allowing you to chop you can very easy use this. The shortcut by hitting be it will go to Blade. It does tell you that, or a goes back to select. So by default you're on select, which is the arrow B is back to blade so you can switch between those as you wish. Okay, so most of your clips will definitely have, but that you don't want to like, you know, me started the bit that you turning the camera on getting ready, and then you leave the camera and you start talking so you'd know me. Trap that up. And even with this drone footage like I take quite a while to get to get there like you see , with this one you take quite a while, so I can easily just click B. You were while you're on your blade. You you see, it's got this line going across, so you just click down and you'll see all maker made an incision. You really are a bit like a surgeon now. It's if you've always wanted to be a surgeon. This is your time to operate on. You have made the first incision. Yes. And now you see, these are too two different clips on your time on so you can see if you cook down or highlight that as a clip and that so if we cook on this one and you hit the back space, deletes that. But if you had commands, you can quickly bring it back. But just remember, in order to select the other clip, you need to remove the blade option so you press a to go back to the select option. So I used to select B is to blade, and you move your way through chopping and making incisions as you need. OK, so you're seeing now instead of us taking a while to get to the runners. We can just easily truck that off, and I will quickly go there and we don't have to waste the Taff. And we don't have to waste Tom for the viewer waiting for the trying to fly there. And also, you might want to change in effect, for example, here it will look later. We might want choppers and then actually zoom in using a final cut pro zoom tool, and so we could chopped. There had a different effect to a different part off that clip you also see, like using blade can add interesting a fixed. So as you can see how trapped out this low park Yeah, and if we did it again over Yeah, now you notice it will be like a low, but jumpy, but you might want that effect. But these are all of the interesting things you can do with blades, so you can see just quickly. We'll see. It won't work so well with this drone footage, but it's to show you an example. We've used a blade to actually create a bit of a dramatic effect. So not only years just said. Can you use it to chop pieces or that you don't want, like you just demonstrated to you? You can also use it to make the video little bit jumpy because you want to create an impact . 10. Other setting: t 14 Aaron up having a cup of tea. It's time for some tools we have done in previous lesson, giving you a little bit of an overview off all sorts of things regarding the layout that what wanted it to quickly do is just show you some of the tools that are here that you want to be aware of that can really make your life a lot easier. So it just kept these two a little bit later because now they start to become relevant and have meaning, so you'll see on the far right. Inside, there are a couple off different tools that when you click on them, they have they changed color, so you can see when they're activated or not activated. We just really quickly have a look at a few of them and how they can make your life a lot easier. So the 1st 1 we have here, your seaters turn video and audio skimming on or off, so the moment you can see it's highlighted. So as I move, you'll notice at the top there. I can see what's going on. If I don't want that by clicking on it and now in order to move, you've actually got to move using the top slider bar of here rather than just moving up and down. Now, they can be a reason for that sometimes. Because you just want to be around and you don't want the thing moving with you all the time, right? The next one is out. What? You're skimming. That's a video skimming and they runs out. Audio is giving when you have this one on what it did dies is when you're on a clip that has sound. I've been here. It actually quickly placed through the sound. So if that's something that you need it maybe when you're trying to find a spot, you can quickly do that. Obviously, this is a very short clip on we consume. And so that is audio skimming. We'll come back to this one later. One of the most useful ones is snapping. Now, this is useful because when snapping is on, it allows you to drag things and put them in the Crips place. So let me just turn it off for a moment and just show you so lets out, took this clip out and I decide to Dragon I want to place it here. But I actually like it, too. The end of the scripted line up with the end off the tip of bath. So now it's quite difficult. Even if I zoom in, If I turned snapping on, it will realize that's what I want to do. So now when I get your it immediately as you see, a line appears and it snapped to the right position and move it again, I'm gonna move it. I want to line it up over here snaps to the right position. So snapping is a great way to make sure that you all getting your tips aligned. Otherwise, if you've maybe got an audio clip or something else into here, it might not aligned properly. Okay, the one thing you will find snapping if you try and get something very precise. So let's say you've got like, you want to have a just off the this clip, sir. In between, you notice it gives a little, uh, it's not as processed, so sometimes you want to turn it off just for a little, but just to get your preciseness. But most of the times you won't want to do that because you want to have it aligned to the end. Yeah, so if you want a little bit of overlap, that's when you would probably turn it off because you're trying to make it just start five seconds before or something, and then snapping can be irritating. But those are some of the key tools that are at the bottom here that are quite important on Dhere about some others. Okay, so one you might have on or off, depending is this one. Okay, so this shows you like your audio level, So if you cook here, it's got a low, tiny thing, but you might not be able to see. So if you took this turn or and if you cook it again Oh, to an on. So this is when you're watching your video, you see the decibels to normally would keep it between negative six and zero. That's just the range you want. So now you can clearly know if your order is at the right level. And another thing we see at the top here is your use CDs, load dots, and this this is basically turns the side and the Tom runoff. So if you need more space to watch the video surfer, turn that off your C that you have most based on the side of two. In this one off, you've got more space on the other side. So now it's your turn that on offer complete, You removed your timeline so you can't even get it. But you see, this one's actually pretty important over here, which you may not have on which is your stating. So if I click on a video, this and I have my settings on your CDs, a lot of different effects canoes and this is where you really think this is going to become quite important later because you could ever fix two videos A Z you can see over here I had all sorts of different affects to my video audio fixed, etcetera. And so I want to see those affects. You need to have the clip selected, and you need to make sure that sittings is on so you can then scroll down and see. We've got a crop effect or a distort effect for a stabilization effect. Applying to that video one last thing. You may want to have a quick look at if you want Ryan, the far right here is an option to quickly also change your zoom. We looked at how you can use pinch to zoom, etcetera. But you can also change soon. You can also change other options about even the the height off your video clips, etcetera. So if you want to get something gets better suited to your screen and the awesome quick settings as well the case, Yeah, this was really just to get the rights kind of feel for you. So if you have got a lot of footage to work with, you might want to make this super small because you don't really need a seat. But I find just to have a nice time. Now, picture there is always great. And then at the top, Yeah, this is how big senai condiments see the audio levels. You can see it a little bit. Yeah, if you really want to see it in, see it more there. And that's that's basically just audio. So these are things you get federal with, and this is just what sooty? The best right and one last thing. So had a little look at some of the tools we trying to strike that you familiar with environment Really comfy. We didn't talk about that all the time. You'll see at the moment there there is nothing rendering, so we'll the background talks have finished. A soon as we start moving things around, it's going to start trying to re render. And when we start adding a fixed except it's going to start trying to rent every now and again, you may know just depending on the computer that your God, that final cut pro is quite intense on your process. Er and every now and again you may notice we're starting to do too much and too much heavy lifting. Performed a pro. You may actually hear your fan coming on. Let's see if we can. The house is now just turned on, and if you got to hear it right, if you can hear it quietly there in the background, the Mac Book Pros fan has just turned on because it's doing a whole lot of work besides the Final Cut Pro. You'd only busy recording the screen at the same time, so be aware of that and also be aware that if you are into a lot of editing that be careful of your computer. Obviously, it can overheat. The fan will do its best to try and keep it cool that you are using a very power package that's doing some very powerful things. So do be aware that defend can sometimes come on quite a lot as it tries to keep the process of cool. 11. Exporting: we have been looking at How to chop a bottle videos using the blade. Andi. We've also looked at all the various little options that you can have to try and make your operating environment easy to work with in final cut pro. So what we now want to do is we're at the very exciting stage. It's lights, camera, shop on action produce. It's time for us to get this video, which at the moment you just merely seeing in the cylinder here to actually be rendered. And basically, that is exporting off the video. And there are a couple of absence when it comes to exporting your video. It's pretty simple, but let's have a quick walk through as to how to export your video. To do that, just go to the top of the screen is a shortcut option on the top, right? You can click it on export or if you go to file. You can also choose export from there. Or you can simply go command, eat export. OK, so as you can see if you click on the saadiya most of five default Apple devices 7 20 feet . Cheesy quality, but not the way you I should recommend. So rather go foul and then you say share and then you see, it's got thes options. Master file default. See, this is basically like the same is going there. And that was where you can use the short could. Come on, eat quickly. Do that, Say every game if we go here looking Cantor and if I just go Come on, E, this is much quicker. Chris brings us straight there, and this is where we can choose our quality. So it's better to do this was Now you can just just just hit role and have to just go with the default. You might want to set your quality at least the first time Once you say that the first time I remember it, and you can then quickly do it for subsequent exports. Okay, so this is where you can choose your former. So if we haven't on Apple devices, don't worry. Oh, still play on pretty much every device. This is a much smaller far. See, if you see the 80.6 makes if we go to video, audio or notice 181 makes so this order pins on which file you want to use. Apple is justice. It will work a few uploading it to YouTube. Yeah, plating it too. You, to me as a course or review at the apple will be acceptable. Okay, so if you want to just go apple devices, if you want to save some space, you may notice a little bit of quality changes. It's just the pains on, like how professional you want this to be. But if you want to save space, this is the way to go. And the resolution you can select a resolution here is going to depend a little bit while a little bit going to depend on the input quality. So if you've got low res video, you always not gonna better choose high resolution. But this is where you can make a call on the resolution off video. And also impacts is just is just done that you see dropping it onto a 54 before 80. All of a sudden it's dropped down Teoh just 12 mix. So it's a much smaller file, but obviously quality is not going to be as good. In the final rendered version and a few other things you'll notice when you here is. If you have your mouse over here because you cook, review off what? Your project. It's so again over here, you'll see a little took option. This is basically saying, uh, like, what this video play on at this quality. So at this quality or play on all of these devices, every bump it a few months notice that some things that original op ed when the guys resolutions too high. Yes, it probably just played 7 20 feet. So don't worry about that. Just keep it at whatever quality you want. So obviously, if you recorded in okay, you can put their if it's 10 80 people there and if you had next, it's gonna ask you where you want to save it. So this is again quite important is to arrange where your capital goes. You gonna want to create, have a folder with everything's gonna go. So we find trying to keep everything in one space is a good ideas again, we operating on our external hard drive, and so we might want to just call. There's are running cause renders or whatever you want to call it. And so that all of these are going to go in here? No, it just it's just caught 1.1. So that is the name it's taking from the project named that we had remember we had a in court 1.1 intra video. The project. We just called 1.1 again. You can change this or you happy with that? You just save, and it's going to render that place to the next thing you're notice. Yeah, as if you cook on the circle. This is gonna tell you it's busy rendering. This might take a while. So depending on how large Fowler's and kind of you and how involved it is. So at this stage, you know you can only go and have a cup of tea, but you don't have to. You can carry on working, but understand that if you've got multiple things rendering or it's a quite a heavy render , you're going to start to get maybe a little bit of lack of some of the stuff you're trying to do, depending on the power of your process and your memory. But the moment it's busy happily going away and rendering that file and it's done on there on the top, right? It pops up into his share. Successful, you can other close. It'll just show, and it's going to show you the file, which we have saved under this fall for the course renders and deciding the space bar. And it's gonna fly that file for you so you can now see the video that you've created on it is now rendered in whatever quality it was that you chose. That that's a simple is it is. If you want to create a video and ultimate deviant exported, you'll see it has also created it as we chose the Apple version. So it's a dot m four v file, but that will play in most any places. So that is exporting. A simple is that 12. Recap and Do: cool, that's all. We're ready. Coating. Okay, That brings the end of this a section quickly. Recap on what we've covered. We started by looking at how you can create your own library on how that is a good thing to do. So you keep everything one place and how libraries and they made up events and projects. Three. Then look, And how you can import media into your project on. So we've got a whole lot of media that we imported by Dragon get in to the project. Next we looked at how you can take this media and you can drag it and move it down to your timeline. We looked moving it and arranging it on the timeline. But once you got on the timeline, obviously you want to start maybe chopping it up and we looked at the blade option by hitting blade. You can start chopping things up or moving it around. We also looked at a few of the other little sittings that you have, such as snapping two or so, your video describing and how you can then also change the look of what you're seeing on your screen just by clicking various buttons. So that's what we covered. And then finally we looked at exporting just fighting command E. You could get to the export option, and you were very settings you could use to an export your video. So by the stage, hopefully you've got the basics or figured out. So it's time for you to copy and also to do your own. Ballooning happens in the doing, sir, why don't you go and grab some tips that you've got set up a library set up in the event, dragged them a year in and then stopped moving into your timeline, moving it around, chopping it up, starting to play with it to get to feel of how it works and then export and produced your first video. Stand back. Steven Spiel bag. You have been set free on the world. So over two year 13. Using Retime: Welcome to the next part. On the next lesson in AL. Final cut pro course with myself. Craig, on your hush. Yeah, well, welcome back. We're gonna have a look at if you've been through the previous lesson. We've looked at a whole lot of basics, and we've just covered things like importing your videos, some of the basics, and ultimately bring you through to dragon your hips immediate to the timeline and then exporting. Well, I want to show you now is how you can use some of the effects around re timing. But before you do that, it's just start and add a new event. So we said, we've got a library and we are going to not add a new event under that lively by right clicking where you can choose filing, you have into the top and new event. So let's just call this one we're gonna maybe grab, but of our drone footage that we have several just call this a drone footage, video at the moment and maybe we'll give this call it 1.2 because it's gonna be are sick and part of our course, and it's going to be created under our running course library, so it's created over here. At the moment. There is just on top of project and there will sort of that moment. But do you remember? We want to drag some media into here so you can either use the import option from the top. The one we prefer to do is just go across to our finder and grab the footage that we want. I want to drive from their holding down shift, picking on the bottom those of the files I want. And now we can drag these across and drop them inside a final cut pro. So you'll now see we have got our media. How clips and the moment we've just got one entitled Project. So we don't want you guys to just leave that one or you can hit into and rename it. So it's a school. There's 1.2, and that's going to be out. Drone footage, projects. What we've got so far is we've got a project, has nothing in it. As you can see on the bottom down here, it's empty, and we do have some clips everyone to use, so we're going to start moving these clips down to the timeline, and they look at how we could use some re timing effects to make these really look interesting. OK, so, as you know with before, we can simply drag clips to the time Monday and this, you can choose your order you want. And if you want every take, command a against illegal of them at the same time and drag them all. But then that went, then you obviously wouldn't have them in order. So let's just say that might be the correct all of that you want to eclipse, you know, So it's normally better you've dragged them one of the time in the order that you want them . Yeah, So let's just say under on the east, first we drag this one, it's gonna ask us like you want to say this an HD Or do you want to say this in two K four K to this nose? Like when we export it later? This is gonna be the Mac settings. We can export forces about journalists and obviously your export settings as to the quality is going to pin on the import quality off your clip. So that's what it's checking with you now. So what? This footage actually was taken and okay, but unless you posting unusual and you really want that impressive quality, you don't need to have a non four K. So most times you just want to save it. And 10. 80 p HD. Remember, if you're gonna go four k, everything takes longer. The rendering takes longer, and obviously the file signs of your final library is going to be a lot bigger. So you need to take that into account in case you know, when we say that and you say OK, now it has got the quality it wants to know for when we finally exported. So when it renders it as you see in the background, old do it knows Okay, so we must render it 14 80. Pete Project can again you can already see at the top of the screen. It's really doing the background rendering or starts to put a little bit of strain on. So, obviously again, that's why I gotta watch the quality. You cannot just zoom out a little bit to make it easier to see what you're doing. As you start to select your next clips that you want to put on the time line. Okay, so we are going to look at re time and changing the speed, which you might do quite a lot with certain clips. Okay, So what? This one, for example, we want to decide where we're going to start a speed. So it's normally when you're going in a straight line because if you're going from side to side as again, TV growing fast doesn't work. So if we get a blade like we've done before, we just look for the perfect time when we're just going straight like there, for example. Now we played that off, and we can remove this simply. So now when we play this, you see, this is at the standard speed, and if we want to make it interesting, this is just to give an example, because if we immediately make this superfast, people think OK, while the train was obviously flying fost So you're trying to create the impact that know that it was slow and then they suddenly get this impact off The drone speeding up was zooming in quickly. And so that's what we gonna do about altering the cameras speed off the final video. Okay, so now if you look on the clip over here and you had command and then are it's going to bring up this option over here, which says okay, because they are, by the way, is because we're doing re timing. So that's what it is. So you can remember it. Command R is for re timing, so it's gonna give you options to change the speed at which that particular clip is not gonna play. Okay, so you see it on the side here, it's got okay, These options, you can put it in slow. And if you are gonna put on slow, only recommend you do that. If you have recorded in 1/2 frame rate or you will notice a very jerky, it can obviously do slow motion. If you didn't really take it in slow motion. A lot of the fence earphones can allow you to record in those slo mo things so you can bring it across in a better frame rates. But you can do a sort of pseudo slow motion here by changing speak. Okay, so we can change our speed over here. So if we want to make it four comes or very Pacific like you wanted exactly four times or what I refer to do. You see, if you grab the India comes up with, like, a little hour that has been curved. So if we hold there, hold on my ass down and we we move it to the left. You see, it tells us what percentage it's gonna play, and so this is 200% speed. So now when we play this, you notice it's foster because if we play it from him, you know, just suddenly speeds up and twice the speed you're twice the speed. You won't notice if we do stuff like this, like changing the speed. This is where it really have to let it render if you want to watch it. And for quality, because this really takes a strange that say, if we change it all the way up to 400 unite us and low, but jerky. But you can get appreciation for the speed. So that's just one clip you can get. You can carry on because we have a few. Yeah, and this is really where you have to get creative and decide if you wanna have different speeds and I'll show you here again when you go here, we have our different settings and right at the bottom. Solero Custom option. So this is where you want it. You can obviously use your you can decided the exact amount that is based on percentages you can also do is based on duration, so you might have a clip than you. You can see that this particular clip, how long it is, it's two minutes 39 seconds. But maybe you just want that clip to pay for 30 seconds or whatever it may be said, you can specify duration, and then it will work out the speed. So that's going to be a massive speaking, trying to make it into a short one second clip. So it's going up 12,341%. So you can specify basement either duration or percentage. Okay? Yes, sir. If we get back to custom, um, you can see it's way too forced s o b rather that change that back to maybe 400% should be good. And we've also got this other option on your right, which is reversed so in some cases you might want to reverse a cliff. It might not be Generally someone talking in you can talk. Yes. Hey, Rather on lack. Sometimes these kind of clips, when you wanna have a reversal little each other, an example of way is actually a good time to reverse the clip. OK, so black with this clip, it's not someone speaking, so this could work out pretty well for us. So if we say reverse, you see, it starts off with the trees, you can see it. Yeah, I sort of get like a backward zoom out top if it So. Now when you play, it's almost like we're zooming out and we are flying the drone backwards. So if that's a thick you're looking for, as you can see, right? Yeah, it really is a lot of frame rate. And that's because, well, it has not rained ID, and we have added a lot of a fix. So again, look at the top of your screen. Always keeping on that, you'll see that it is busy trying to render worry for does appear jerky as you trying to play here. It will get a lot better when you get to finally rendered. Okay, So that's all about Ratta choosing what you want with the of speeds and if you want it reversed, and it really makes for interesting shots when you have but at a faster speed or you put it in reverse and that is really something you should do with. Well, lots of clips. Eso try. Be creative and try and look at your timing. Try and top it up into little pieces. Remember what you trying to do often when you are doing video, regardless of what you're doing, whether it is just a video for you, tube. Whether it is a course video, etcetera. You often try and keep short clips shortened to the point you want to keep things interesting. So in our running courses will return. In a moment, you will notice that we will keep doing little kind of ways to different things, and we're gonna look at that in a moment, and we will speed up things, slow down things to try and create, different to fix. We've created some videos with slow motion, top of fix to show the impact of running and how you run so that was interesting. Or we might speed up a drone shots. You can see us running quite quickly from above, but you could have a lot of fun with clips using the various re timing effects. So that is, I look at pro and re timing. Just remember, it's just command are, and you can have lots of fun doing interesting things. 14. Transitions: Welcome back. We looked in our previous lesson on a commander. I remember when that's it for re timing so we can set the timing on any particular clip at the top. Here, you can see all the options to change that timing. And we looked reversing clips, etcetera. So we've bean through our project on. We've just changed of the timing on various cups just to make them look interesting. Right now we want to do is in this lesson look at transitions, So if you go across into the right inside here, you will see the options for transitions. If you can't see the transitions on the right inside, it could be there to you have got this clicked off, so obviously gives you a timeline. So the show or hide your transitions browser. So just click that and you will see it come up right? So what are transitions? Transitions is how one video clip is going to change into another. You'll see this in every Hollywood movie that ever comes there. There's always some sort of transition. There's one clip changes to another on the right inside. Yet you will see there is a whole range of transitions. You can look at just a category. So these obviously just your blur type transitions. Or you've got ones that are using lights to transition from one scene to another very stylized with etcetera. Or you could just go toe all and you can page down the various transitions. If you move your mouse pointer across any transition, you can get an idea off What it looks like. So just going across. Yeah. So I'm here seeing a checkerboard transition, and I could just get an idea if I wanted to circle. So you're gonna get idea of what this transition might look like. Okay, so let's pick some interesting transitions. Josh, what should we do? Let's get something interesting on our drone footage here. Okay, So the thing with transitioned as you need to know when to use them, you don't over do it because you can transit in Iran, get nauseous. Uncertainty. Do you really, really use them? But sometimes you might can make something McCrary really interesting. It's only when changing between scenes or like a big thing. You're used unless something to transition. Sometimes if you if you're doing a lesson and you want to show that there's a absolute breaking scenes. It's quite a good thing to do, but just again don't overdo them. But you can use them in a subtle way that makes your videos with professional. OK, so we'll just look here and you need it. Look for the right style. So let's just say we look at blows for this one. So we need to find the right one. You just you can play around with this. This that's the good thing. So you see Rocky Adagio DACA a low gray area and ever traveled here. It just has a passion. What is that? It's because it's too short the clip. So it has to track and provides. So you see, when I put it in, it says it needs to. There is not enough extra muted. So the idea is what's happening here. Remember, transition is basically changing the two videos on either side, so the isn't enough video footage. It's gonna find it difficult to actually try and make this transition work. Seo Notice. Yeah, um, it has to try compromise with that. So now when we play it, you see, it gives it an effect to the video. At first evidence transitions can take a walk to render. And if they do not bring that you won't even get the full experience. You won't know what's looking like. So I said, just waiting for to render eyes. You can see we have a check there. So now when we play it, and so you have that interesting black zoom out effect. So that's Ah, so it's always depending on your scenario you are using. So let's say for that we want a nice, blurry a fix because we're with these drone shots. She mostly want that. But if we are, let's say we are studio or something like that. You may want to choose something different. Lack clock. Maybe not. Maybe. Do you want to use it? May be talking something about Tom Crosses over Find is luck. My simple one. Yeah, it's ah, several world just moving between one scene and another without necessarily noticing the change of the scenes that just basically slowly moves from once into the other, fading the one out and fading the other one in that in our suffer, one without creating a jarring impact between scenes, you know, just it's a slowly brings it out, and that's one of the main ones are found that I actually use. Um, so over here again, you can see. Okay, let's aside. What do you see? Because let's just say it's like a speeding car. You want to find something that feels like going far. So we go back the blues and we can choose directional. And another thing you notice yet is you can actually edit these transitions so we can get it. Audio cross fades so that we didn't mention this before that if you can't see this, speak sure that you have got your sittings turned on because every time you try and a clip or a transition, there are additional sittings up the right inside. So with transitions, you can also make some changes. OK, say, you see, with this one, I can choose Teoh lock which direction I want to put it. But as you can see that also have our here for us. So this is basically how much like effect we're gonna get the original blurs that sort of in a blur out in that direction, sort of pulling the river course. Now you see it loose in that direction, which is perfect. Yeah, and everybody looking back. So you can really do, Ah, whole water things with transitions, they can get quite fancy again. As we said, Think about when you're using him. You don't want to necessarily overuse them. If you've ever been on those those rides in Universal or Disney, and you find that you're getting a little nor justice, things are flashing too much. You can do that to your viewers as well, over doing things. They have used them in the right way. They can be very effective and make it like multiple clips that were taken. They were unrelated are actually fitting nicely together. The The whole thing was transitions is to pick something not simple, and that suits the theme of your video, right? So let's transition. That's all about you. Going and experimenting. Have some fun. So just grab the transitions on the right inside your drag them into your videos between the clips and see what great effects that you can create. Using bottle cut pros, transitions 15. Transform-crop: in this lesson. We wanna have a look AB will introduce you to firstly how you have multiple layers or multiple tracks, almost in final cut pro. And this is important because we're going to show you then how you can use some of the distorting crop tools to do all sorts of interesting things. We will come back and revisit this NATO lessons when you get two more advancing, like multi camp. But it is important, understand the moment we have just got one layers. Essentially, we've got one thing running around timeline. So let's say that we wanted to grab one of our clips. We can pull it out and dropping in the timeline of Stuck it on top. So now we've got two layers in our timeline. If we play, you'll notice that even though the audience playing from about ad one, we're actually seeing the top players video. So you're important. Whatever is on the top is what's going to be appearing in your video screen. If we had dropped that little video of the baboons to below the timeline, well, you would not see it. You would only see me talking and nothing else. Okay, so it's important, understand layers. But now this is quite fun because this is how you could do what accord Cata ways. So as you see it at the moment, what's basically happening is me talking and a couple ray to the baboons on the rock while I talk. Now this is how you can get rid of that sort of talking hits effect. That's a bit boring because you can use cutaways to make it interesting. But sometimes maybe you don't want to do a complete cut away. I wanted to keep my face in camera on. I want this other video to be playing in a section off the screen. So what you need to do is, firstly, is select the video that you want to edit. Once you selected it, you go up here and click the little drop down for this tool that gives you various options transform, cropping, distort. So what we want to do is we basically want to resize this video because at the moment is taking over the whole screen, so that is transformed. You'll now notice that there are these little handles and you get on either side all around the video, you can simply click and hold, and you can resize the video. You can now move it to where you want as a bit of a cut away. So I'm gonna put that just on the top corner over here. What? I'm speaking and get it to whatever size is gonna work just right for you. There we go up there, my little monkey friends who are going to be watching what I'm saying from the right there . So now when I play is gonna sort of calm me down a little bit on Marcel and will come to sound editing later. Right? So now as we play talking away and now you can rush to see something else happening as the second video is playing on as well. So that's how does create a sort of a cutaway effect that is using the transform tool. Okay, so the next thing we're going to look at is how we can zoom in and there are a few ways you can actually do this. So let's for insurance. Say we have this clip on, and as you can see, that pretty far down the okay, So another thing we can do here is used the crop, So this is to really get a more zoomed in effect. So let's say we have the runners of here and you can't really see them and way just little *** running down their note that you might get a lower blurry but depending how much use human. But the good thing is, I recorded this and four K So when I resume and we will not be super blurry, So the two ways you have the active zoom and there's the one is crop. The problem we have here is a case it crop is basically going to start to cut off the ages rather than were transformers. Changing the science crop is starting to cut off the pieces that you don't want. Okay, so with crop, you can just drag you. You're make sure see, you have two options trim and crop. So what treme does is it will just leave your screen blank. So if we had that and we said done it once, you in it or for us. So what you'd rather do is say crop. And now when we have a piece elected and you say don, it will resume that rotten. So as you notice, it might be a little bit more blurry. But, Lisa, get know. You could sort of see that we are running down there. Yeah. Okay, So our next option is what we use before transform so transformed can do. Two things transform can, either. Okay, let's go to the next step. You can either zoom in or zoom out. So every year on the previous one with the baboons are made it just a small little thing on the side so you could see them as a cutaway. But you can also use it to make your transformed the video image to be larger. So if resume down like that, that would be like I cut away or museum. And this, as you can see now we can see a lot more. But the one problem they have No, It's like, how do I make it smaller again? You don't get to the ages of the video now, young Assad. Yeah, this is 51%. That's how big a screen iss. So you see, if we adjust this change us screen size, you see what's there. And if we make it big on the side. Yes, well, we'll see changes. It's trying to fool, because the media we've not used to transform the busier than of us that were always changed. So if we want to edit that, we can easily, because it ran out on fit. So if you put it lacks a 25% I can see where, ah, where we can make it smaller again. So we can easily just bring that back out and bring it out and you haven't even more. So now when you done doing that you like? OK, yeah, that's a good size. You can simply go back there and had a fit, and you get a full screen effect with the rawness, right? So those are our some off the effects that you can use using transform on crop. Remember, every time you want to apply the pick, choose the video of the media that you want to work with, Then choose either your transform cropped or is even an option to do distort where you can do various other fun things ready to steal video up except if you want tea. Sometimes your video might be a little but skew Sometimes this actually helps like, let's say we want to have a little bit more that this angle you see you can adjust it. Sod. And if you want to put like this in a TV or something and you wanted to fit, that's just one of the fix that you can use for distort. You see, it's pretty clever. So it just is suggesting you might want, Oh, bluff that this is playing on a on a LCD screen TV or whatever, and the image of God is not perfectly hit on. You can actually distort joy on the inside. It looks like it's built into that. So just like with this one, if you want to play lack, for example to clip side by side, we could have it like to TV's next to each other. Say we had like that and we can could be Copy that, And if we put on top of it, just come on, see to copy and come on V to paste it. So now I got both of those clips, one on top of each other. Remember, the one of the top is always gonna be the one that's going to show. But now, because you're putting them side by side years, not a problem gonna show. They're lots of fun things you can do with distort. Now it's back to TV ethics. But it's really up to you. What you wanted to with your Vidia right here is an example of where we've actually used us in the running videos we wanted to compare running strides. So what's happening? We've got a video clip of someone drowning that we put into slo mo. We have talked a little bit about that in a previous lesson, but now what I want to do is I want to compare to slap styles running styles together. So here what we've done is we put them together. So we've managed to stick both clips next to each other, and so you can compare what we call the running, easing style and running hard style and the different impacts that have on the body. So this is an effective way off now, showing both of those together and simply what we've done is we've placed both clips on top of each other, and we then used, transformed to a little crop, the one so that they can both sit side by side. So great way off now comparing two things and showing and effect when you're trying to illustrate something. So those are some of the tools transforming and cropping and go up, try them and you can get also the really interesting effects on your videos. 16. Text: takes the fixes. The next thing we wanna have a look at they are what can help you introduce a video or make points during a video that are going to be important to make now again, like with all things straw incisions takes to fix etcetera, it is important that you use them sensibly and they can get quite involved and advanced as well. Well, actually, take it to the next level so we could trace some of the advancing. You could do a fixed a fixed, but let's start simply. So what you do is position where you want the text efecto appear on, then up in the top. Yeah, you choose text, and it's going to bring up a whole range off different text fix and titles that you can apply to your video. So there's everything from three D to three D cinematic. We'll have a look at some of these later, so pick one that you want. I'm going to go for your clouds and again if you move across that, you could sort of see what it's gonna look like. It's likely animated, uh, very simple ones. I'm gonna go with this one called eco fix. So once you've got the one you want, your simply click it drag and drop it way you wanted to appear so I moved my text down. Here it is. And now I need to put what I want to put into a title for this particular video so you could double click it and you can either into directly on where your videos rendering, or you can enter it up on the right inside. So again, remember, if you call and see this on the right inside, make sure you've got your settings to on so you can see what you are busy typing. So this is, Ah, new video there. We've created around how it works. So I'm just gonna call the listen that this is a multi line text effect so you can see two lines and there is a second line as well. So you can obviously put in something. But in the second line, So maybe I want to put in my name or something else down this my name there. Right, So here you can see what happened. So you've now got your text effect. Just put in some of the basics If I hit play, you're going to see it appears on. It's gonna lost for that duration. So that's not long enough. You can quite easily click on the text effect, and if you move to the end, you'll notice how you get the double sided era. Click and hold, and you cannot elongate the limbs off the text efecto whatever links you like, so you can make it last longer if you wanted to. Maybe lost up to six seconds as it is there, five seconds, etcetera. So you can, obviously also because you've got snapped to turned on you can Salve wanted to lost to a specific point right here. Click and it'll snap to that point. So we now have got it exactly in just over six seconds. So that's a very basic text effect. There's also a lot more you can do with your text to fix if you look on the right inside. So by default, this is using impact fonts. You can't change your point if you wanted to change a point to something else because you wanted to make it more interesting or whatever, you could just stroll down as you scroll down you will see a cozy house can appear you can also. Obviously, if your text is a little long and you need to change the the font size, you can change. All of that is a whole lot of features that you've got on the right hand side for fiddling . How this takes the victors going to look right, so that is takes effect again. You can place them, use them. Have you want you choose any of the effects. Yet to simple is that you can even overlay multiple of Fix that you want to have multiple tics to fix. And it's just a matter off grabbing him from here, drag you down to your timeline and then changing Aled the details and the right inside. So that's a very quick, simple introduction. Takes a fix, but we can't even take it up layer, and we will look at that in the next lesson. 17. Text 3D and color effects_: So we're looking at ticks to fix, and we have looked at how to add a very simple echo. Top takes effect, but they really reach a part in the video here, where I'm talking about five kilometer, 0 to 1/2 marathon was there at the 42. So what we'd like to do now is create little in effect where we put those at 0 to 25 kilometers, 0 to 2102 42. The ticks up on the screen. But they may be just What about we highlight the ones that we're talking about? Yeah. Okay, so we're gonna have to decide what top of ticks you want to use. If you explore your three D text, the best one in this case is probably to use a custom. May be accustomed. Three normal custom ticks. So let's decide where stocks again. You just grab the ticks would drag it down. Okay, so you got to just get the timing right. We're gonna move those to where it's going to be the right spot. Okay, so now that we have it in place, you can see five minutes the on this era or whether you're on a zero to the 40. Lengthen it. But we know where it's how long we want that piece of text to go from where we start talking to the end of that monologue. Case it. Now, if you click on it on this text effect on you see and your settings over here, we can change it. Yes, so we can go. OK, so we're gonna put three lines of text in now. Okay, so go 0 to 5 kilometer. We re enter and put to 21 which is 1/2 marathon and zero to you guessed it if you know what a marathon length is. Standard Marathon 02 42 60 42 points, which is actually 26 miles at all. Right, So those are the three distances that this running course is going to be talking about. We've put in multiple lines now. So again, we can start to fiddle things as well. Other options. Okay, so you can see it's not really scented to how we want it, because this is in the center. But we really want this to be in the center. So if we see here down at the bottom and your settings under the walk looked on the From what I have done that you can see we've got this baseline option. So this is basically where it's gonna be, which is gonna be the base lantern over here. The fire clumped is gonna be the baseline over there. It's just gonna move it another space down and a few per day it will be much resented. And obviously, if you click on it so assemble, not click on it, you can move it to wherever you want. So let's say we want it on a side. While I was talking about it, I don't want to cover my beautiful little face with all of this stuff. It's getting onto the sides. Azzam talking ticks helps up right now. What would be cool is to highlight each one as we're talking about them so that I understood all of the affected they were there, but we wanted, like, emphasize the one I'm get. So the first thing we want to do is when you play it five. So now we break that. So this is going to give us each a different harlots. Remember, we talked about this using beef or blade blade allows you to chop things up. You can top up anything with blade. Okay, so we're gonna play it again. So we blading out text once again. So now we've got them all in the super section so we can see how we're gonna add a little bit of culture. So if you grab your you hold on your mouse here and you just select this text over here So we highlighting the 0 to 5 text. So you just have like that with your mouse. As you see, we've got these options. See, it's got that. We can choose the color So if you go all the way down to the bottom, you see it's got this color options. So now when you have that, you can choose which color you want. That piece of text that's being highlighted, its ticket in yellow. Maybe if we didn't have that text Hi. Laughter with our mouths, it will just change all of them. So just cause we got that one highlight that you're seeing Green is good. So you know, five and I would get town next one. Now we need the 2nd 1 to be highlighted again and just repeat that process. You highlight this area 21 you go down to the bottom selector color and again breathe. And they would do that to pull the 3rd 1 as well. Highlight to make sure he's just highlighting the one highlighted to go down to the bottom on Jews color again. So we're gonna get this effect that as I talk about each one, it's gonna be highlighted. Here we go. You know, whether you're on a 0 42 Okay, so you get to see the idea there so you can really do some cool things that you're takes. You don't ever just drop it. You can start cutting it up. You can start highlighting it as well, so you really can experiment with three D ticks. As you can see, more than just clicking and adding those kind of options you might want to know. Okay, what does this do? And you see, OK, that changes, changes the angle. So maybe you want to have it. This is almost like I'm pointing towards it now, So it sort of creates even more interesting effect because it's there on my right inside and it appears like I'm actually referring to that as those actually there while I'm speaking and you see, with these arrows, you can decide gonna move it to the side or up, down, forward. And obviously you can play around with settings. Okay. You want to be have a little bit more depth to it. You can go like that. You know, it's all about playing around. This is how you figure out most things and this is how you really gonna become used to funnel Kaprow and no all of its features. Also, just to say, this is where video editing team take a lot of time as you start to play with the things that can really take a lot of time because you can sit for hours and hours now is editing. There's a rule of thumb that a one minutes off final production video takes one hour. So each final one minute off your video, it takes you one hour of production. So just to produce a really good five minute clip thank you. Five hours of editing, but you can see why that is the case. Obviously you get faster as you go along. But it is ALS the finicky things. And we still gotta get to some of the other really exciting things to do with audio. I just wanted also maybe show you here. We talked about layers on, so we got multiple layers in this video. This is a background. We're gonna show you how you can do Cromer and removing or backgrounds later. But this year's we've used a blue screen here. You can see that shot there and then this is a slayer. But what happens is we got to be slightly careful here because I am behind the texture. I could make it. So it appears that I'm actually in front of the text by simply grabbing their ticks and just dropping it below the video off me. And so when my hands comes, my hand will appear in front of it. So you can want to create that effect, which is quite nice. So you can tell you decide if you know, seeing my elbow just hit the edge of it. My hands are in front of the video off the text rather then behind it again. Deciding on your layering as well can also try and create an answer. The illusion of Texas. Actually, there 18. Images and compound clips: we're looking at adding text Intar videos and the previous one. We looked at opening opening takes down, then adding some extra fun little ticks that changes. Aziz, you are speaking. We want to look at now is doing a what a combo and bringing in an image. And the process of doing that is much the same way all executive, same ways bringing any other media and then combining it with some text and creating a composite image that you can or competent item that you could move around. So we want toe often times you want to do this because maybe you've got a logo or something , so we want to bring in a logo. So I've got a logo for my course Tarmizi logo, and we're gonna use this to be gonna wanted to pr all the time on the screen. So we're going to bring it in, and we're gonna also not only bring it in for the whole time, he was gonna one add some text to the Logan. So we dragging down some custom text and we've got the two together going to make them both the same length and we'll see we'll make resize and everything in a moment. So here we have. God's a longer than we dragged him, and we've got a title. So next thing to do is to adjust the size. We've looked at this, we get a choose transform. All right, It's just okay for start again. It's very weird, like you talking and me trying to do this. Like, I'll just carry on for a little bit and you could take out okay. And using transform, we are now adjusting the size off our loga. Right. And now next, What we're gonna do is once you've got that size, right, and we happy with it, we're going to want to start to reposition it and place our text here below the bottom right hand corner. It seems like a good spot for Right. So what about the text, Josh? Okay, so now we can add a text right next to it, because this is where you have to fiddle bit. So you have a longer there and the stick styles a little bit bland. So in a minute, we just need to get it. That the rough space, we can change it later. So let's see what style we want to use. That might be but boring. So okay, we'll use this. Chrome therapy are just like the Germans down. That's almost a bold Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you. Now, I thought this was maybe our website in here, So we've got a website cereals. Okay, so now we can position this how we want. Maybe we don't. So big was human, our low, but then we can have it next to it. See, this might not be exactly how we would have had it, but the next thing you want to do is because this is very distracting. You got two options to the U. S. A. Other make it really small, or we can actually make this less visible. So if we walk clicking on our text, you can click on the video aspect of this. So now you see, it's 100% capacity. Yeah, so you can make things that a little bit transparent. So rather than make it too small, you want to keep it there. But maybe it's not like overbearing. Say we dropping its capacity, including lack of water. Mark? Yeah. Sort of like a watermark that had dropped to just below 10%. And you could do that as well for your logo. Depends how you Obviously, if you overdo it, you're not gonna get to see your logo door that you just go to see what's going to get the right effect play. You have a slight effect of a watermark and sister side of it again. You know you want to include these things. If you do. One include logos and things like that. You want included in a way that it's there because it's also part of your branding. Andi, that's important. But you also allow the times we've seen this in other times with transitions and other things. You don't want it to be distracting. So whatever your fix you using, whether it just takes to fix whether it is logo's or whether it is transitions, try and put them in such a way. That it's it haunts is what you're doing that is ready. One of the keys or videography of editing is trying to do things that haunts what you're actually creating. The case of the next thing. We will look at us instead of having to drag each of these little things every time we want to put it. Put a new logo on. I think if we select both of these Okay, so we hold on command. We select that when we select that one. Um, and you're right. Click. Doesn't matter what run Iraq like. You see, it's got this option of the top new compound place. So if we click that okay, it doesn't really matter too much what to call it. Um, You see, it combines in both to get us, and now they both won clip. So if we want to have this over whole video, we can easily go that. It's about easy to work with it now because it's one clip and also, if you want to copy it and paste it into other videos because you want to use one, just got a copy. That one clip, which consist of your image and your takes. Okay, so that's just a nice way with you are. It's not even just watermarks had used that it doesn't even have to just be text. There's so many things that can use a compound clip, and there's just so many possibilities, you know, another thing also, just again notice we've got out. This is our Logan, a watermark. We put it on the top because obviously, if we dragged it lower down below this layer, well, when that part of the video was playing, we wouldn't be able to see it anymore. So it is important that you have it at the top in order so that it's always visible. The other thing about a compound clip. If you want to edit it, you can either double click it or you can right click and choose open compound clip. When you do that, it's going to go to a place where it actually shows you what the clip is and those of the two elements that make up the clip. And you can then edit any of those except try and soon as your editor them. It will reflect back in your original video, so you can very easy open your compound clip and its contents. But it makes it easy to work with because it's now sort of packaged into one. So those are some of the other fun things you can do with text and with images and using them to make your video professional and really interesting. 19. Recap and Do: time for recap and then for you to do so. What have we covered in the section? Well, we looked at how you can you especially fix to your speed up Andi, some transitions where you can come into videos. You can even reverse your videos and pop out. So we looked at some of the video fix off, speeding up. You can slow down, you can reverse and you can concision very exciting effects. We also looked at a time you can do cropping and transforming so you can change the size of videos and how they appear. And so here we had asked putting the little Baburin video a sort of cut away while I was busy speaking. Or we could even use some special effects and transform and distort videos so we could create sort of honorifics, etcetera. So those are some of the other effects that we looked at. And then we looked at a text how you can put introductory takes to maybe say what this video is about, and then we looked at how you can even put in some quite fun effects with your text, bringing out various options off text and in highlighting as you spoke about each option. We then got into adding a logo for some text. We created a compound clip that included a image and text, and so those can be combined together. We also looked at how you could change the capacity or how visible they are on the screen. So those are some of the great things we looked at in the section. It's now ever for you to go and have a go in it. That's where the real learning takes place. So take your videos, make sure you have some fun slowing them down, speeding them, AARP, reversing them, adding transitions, cropping, transforming and adding some text to your videos. And very soon you could be producing some incredible stuff using final cut pro so over to you and it's your turn. 20. Video effects: final cut pro. We'll look in this lesson at video effects, the effects that you can apply it to your videos on your various clips on def. You glance at the right inside. We've spoken about this before. You must make sure that you click on the far right. There is an option to bring the effects panel up, so you must be sure that is on to show or hide your fix browser. And there are a whole range of video effects that can be applying again. We keep trying this well said over and over again, be careful of over doing effects because it can make it look a little bit Amer tree amateurish. You know the way we mean. But also you can use a fix very effectively. Yes, that it fix effectively to try and give a professional in a really a class, you look to your video, so let's have a look at some of the effects that you can apply and how you use them and final cut pro. OK, so over here on our rat, we have these different top of a fixed, probably the main when you're getting uses color correction. This is where you can really change your color. So if you are recording and like raw, it's a normal year, but bland because sometimes if you're according on the phone or something in order adds color but that you normally want to add cholesterol. If we go here and we drag it onto a clip over here, you see on the sod on R sittings for this Pacific club, it's got this color correction gave me talking about this before. Make sure you've got your sittings open. So if you can see this, it means you have got your settings tab turned often you're not gonna see anything. And as we said, lots of settings can be applied to a single clip. So if you can't see it immediately, the one you just applied, you just scroll into your CSS, and now we can see them run to the top. That is the video fit color correction we've just added. Okay, so now if we had the hour there will bring us into this color board. So this is where you really can get nitty gritty and get the right color that you looking forward case. Summer's day. You obviously have to spend a bit of time on that. Um And then over here, this is where you get your saturation, and this is probably easier to get. Okay, You want a more of a popping effect or you want a little bit more Dow? It's really on your star removed, America. You making like a wedding. And you wanted to make it sort of misty and dull in or you want to make it vibrant. You can quite quickly change saturation. Just remember, not Teoh unless you are purposefully doing it. Don't overdo the colors because it does look fake. So let's decided it like that. You would definitely know that is not right. So keep it about they're so that's just a suggestion on. And then the next thing is your exposure. So if for some reason it is too dull, you can always change. He This is totally what it is. This is your heart out can make all the harlots, Ratta, your mid turns. You can tell that down a bit or Bratton it up. And this is all things you have. Teoh slowly tweet just to get that rat effect. Obviously, right now I'm doing the wrong thing because I'm just going through it. So these are all things you have to go through deciding on how you want your video to look . Okay, so that's that's color correction. That's one of them. But there are a whole load of a fix that you can look at that. Have a look at a couple of others just to give you an idea. So you're notice or so if you drag your mouth, you see a preview of what it's gonna be like. So let's a served to use TV if we wanted to be like, look like Old Town. You Almost one is a fifties TV many years ago in a far and distant tougher it's gone Hejazi . For each clip, you can add your effects. And now your habit on boys. Um, As you can see, there are very, very many effects. Rock. Yes, Oregon. You can choose your theme, Rocky. Our concerts. Okay. If we wanted to be that dreamy, see if they've got anything. So there we have an effect called dreams. If we put that in here, you see that they have You can obviously tweet them out. You want way use this one quite effectively was showing a moment to the running course. We were using it to talk about envisioning or visioning yourself, running a marathon. So we've had some actual footage from people trained finishing the marathon. And while I'm talking about it, we have a cutaway to show that that sequence of the people finishing the marathon, but as a dream as a vision for the people. And so I was quite a clever than to put that effect on so that people could see that is a vision or a dream of what they want to achieve running their race. Visual has stopped visualized renal and visualize the whole your plan that you're gonna be walking every three kilometers, you're gonna be looking at the crowd. You're going to be speaking in the energy waving to the tual. This Spectators who are there to cheer you on, see yourself running this race, see yourself at the finish line, put in your arms in the sky, getting ready to get that middle. That whole prices of visualization is crucial to ensure that you're gonna have asthma. Much fun and as much put a mismatch success on your race. So, yes, go then that before visualize yourself doing that whole run so that almost on the race day it's just about repeating what you've already dreamed. So yard, that's just your basic off video fix, which is would just be like that cup of Dean. Obviously, you might not want to use a dream. I think you might just want to use a bit of color correction just to make the colors stand out more. Tell them out a bit more, but this can symptoms health, if the luck just saying what my dad did on the top of shots that we were doing. Okay, so that all video effects area really are a whole lot of them. I go through them, play with them again, you know, use them cleverly, used them to bring out something, used them to highlight something. Be careful of over doing it and creating a sort of a fake look. You're trying to use everything in a way that's going to create a professional look for your video, but again, very simple. You just drag the effect that you want from your the effects and onto the clip, and the effect is then applied 21. Adding Audio: final cut pro adding audio to your clips. So so far we've looked at all sorts of interesting things around the video element on. We'll look at the whole of other, more advanced things. You could do the videos, but the moment they haven't focused much on the audio elements. So let's take a look at some of the things you can do with audio. You'll notice that the top here there is an option, and it brings up the various audio things that you can do or you can include in your clip. So final cut pro does come with sound affects. You can click on anyone in. It'll play what it sounds like they got room, whatever that is. Tone. Let's maybe you see if we can find something to that drone, some sort of drone sound or something that might give us a giant chicken click search. And then you could just type in nearly done but his trunk and drone and we'll probably find it. And then it will be done and will play happy. Anything that has to do with drones on again, you can play them years drone whatever on and find one that you like. When you go the one you want, you just drag and drop it. Now it's an audio sequence. Essentially, it actually always lies below because you're not going to see it through. And we have multiple layers. So the layers on the top of the ones that you see, but as it's audio, it doesn't really matter. It's just going to sit at the bottom. So this audio is now going to play along with the audio that our video has at the moment. We just go out and drive em for Detroit doesn't have audio. So this is the audio that is now being provided that we have now added to the footage. Okay, so with this, this audio, my think it's a bit dull. So this is where you can actually go find some of your own audio. Maybe you make your own some, but you have to be careful here because you don't want to use copyrighted musical anything . So there are few website you can go to. Um, well, we can either pay for the copyright or you can get some one for free. Like over here. We have bean sounds. So been sounds pretty cool because you can't buy it or just download it, depending on what you're going to be using it for. You'll see when you go to do it, it'll say there's a creative Commons license. Which case where you got to do is you use for free and what you got to do is put a credit for them. Uh, otherwise, if you don't want to give credit, you can buy credits and by the music. So it's a great side to go and browse a whole load of music on the side. Yeah, so we have to do is go to being sounds fun the song you lack. So if you go here, you can see it. Maybe you said it might not be the right one. That's pretty little Yeah, you can just go whatever you like. And, of course, if you're just making a video for maybe just your family or whoever your friends, then it might not have to have. Ah, you don't have to worry about copyright all of that stuff. Sorry. We can just use the song were down like that. Guess again, Just save it. You've got everything organized. You can just put it to your downloads folder or save it to where you got your other music and your other media stored. So once it's downloaded, you just click showing fine. It'll show you were reduced a little pop your file on. Now you can take that file across and drag it from where you downloaded it and put it into your video. So same sort of process. Just drag and drop it on the way, huh? Why? So it's really quite a simple process off putting audio in. Now you may find maybe the audio levels are a little high. As you see it's playing, you'll notice on the right. Inside. It indicates what's going on. Okay, so you can easily adjust the audio just by putting your mouse over the audio. You'll see attended a double headed arrow, and you can slide it up and down. So that's one very easy way to adjust your audio very quickly, huh? So that's adding or you really simple. In another lesson, we will look at some of the more violence things you could do with audio. So adding audio to your final cut pro videos, a simple is dragging it, dropping it in and adjusting the body 22. Audio Effects in depth: final cut pro relooking at audio aspects on how to add all year. In the previous video, we looked at how you can bring audio from multiple places. You can find it, download it and then put the audio in by Dragon. So what we look at this lesson is how we can start to chop the wood are but just volume levels and other aspects to try and get the desired effect. So what we've done so far is we've added the spin sound audio track at the bottom and you'll notice we've got a double thing because is also me speaking here. So we want to try and get this to work well, where we've got sort of a backing track just to start with. But when I stopped speaking, the beckon trick increases. So we have to get a couple of little things. He had to get this to all hang together. So take it away, Josh. It's get this to work. Okay, so if we played initially, you notice that you can hardly hear what he's saying because you've got the sound certain out. So what we can start off by doing was by getting where he stopped speaking and corrupted off. And that's the blade effect so that before cutting. So we've cut this audience to pieces. Now, now you can make this ready load. Just so it's a baby in the background, you know, just much. Achter. We can even make it more softer. Just order pence and how you want. And obviously we can also increase the volume off the speaking trap. Yeah, so if we think this is too low, begin racism. But no, you noticed some runs, just hot runs another you can do about the key in the hot runs, Remember lots of hydration. So there you can notice that order levels are much better that you can actually hear already saying OK, so as you know, with a bria settings, you can change like different things, like as if you see here we can change, transform, crop, all of that kind of thing. Same applies with your audio. So, yeah, you can precisely choose what kind of volume you want, or you can even put the actual dispels and directly or use the slider so that this is when you really want to try and get it all consistently more accurate. Okay, so what? We can dio on audio enhancements. We have a whole bunch of different things. So if you audios way too soft and get hard here it and you've got this on Max and you still gon here, it's generally if you use this loudness thing, it's going to sound a little bit fuzzy, but some it may not, depending on the marquees. Eso you may have shot something, and now there's nothing you can do it, it's just sits quietly need to enhance it. So there are lots of options to try and prove that you could even do noise removal, which will take out background noise again. It's not perfect, but it can try and quite down decorating, always to improve the quality. So, yeah, we got nausea, removal and hum removal. That's a these locker. They come. It's normally summers. It picks it up lots and flags. Apparently that mocks and ready. Pick up those kind of things and you might want to use that. And at the very bottom here it has this pan, you know. What the heck is that? So if you took on this, you have all of these options. So some of these you might not really want to use black basics around to pick up on that. It's just going to give you an option of lack, you know, three. The top of Oreo lack when you listen to it. But that's only if you really want that top of fixed. And already people get other listening to this with some sort of headphones on or when the really fancy, uh, audio set up. So the thing I use the most is this studio right? Less Syria withdraw. So the thing I'm most the use yer is your stereo, right? Left a factor. Kanda. Your soon notice that, um, if, like, if it's just coming out of one year lucky. Oh, you like it's There's a lot of sound of one year, and there's not much on the other. That's probably because you you don't have a rock balance, you know, you know another up, and that's only when you might have to marks like That's one picking up from the rock one from the little you might have, like something might be used all recording in stereo, trying to pick up both science and so you can get a straight defict obviously can't switch to monitor But you can't get a stranger Fix your reporting. Say, if you drive that one of switched to mono you'll see this thing over here. Audio configuration. So now when you slide this up in your low option to slide it up, you see both of our tracks we have, we are And it isn't stereo. So if you really want to turn it into do Amano So what? This is played first, Um and this is also where we're going to talk about this little headphones option here. So they say, We just want to listen to the pain sounds clip or just to this clip you cook on that we click on thing. We want to listen to you and you hit France option the others of now I should have gone dark. So it's only going to give you the audio from the one that's highlighted. So you're noticed it and you see the right lift. You see it, changes of it. So they're not. It's not monitor. So now if we do this and we select dome honor now you notice you'll see the left in the right channel, both jumping up on the far right. The executive same time. Yeah. So if you're Mark has a problem where it only comes out of one year or it's like you have a lot of some ammonia, not so much in the other. These are just more options you can use to change that. In fact, we have been using that in this video and we've had to because of the position of the mike and how we've been recording, we switched to morning. Otherwise, you would have one of us sort of sounding out of your one year on the other, the other real with some of it's strange that you've played with the Mourners so that we can get the correct Sanders. OK, so the last thing I'm going to go in with this order fix is as video effects we have you considered slick over here and audio, we can Singley go on all audio effects. You may not. You may or may not use this because some of them are a little bit weird, like I'm not sure when you everyone in use Etienne super honest, But well, that's, you know, maybe get a running course job to other planets are believed is a good option of using alien. Yes, maybe more use, like a basin haunts you are. Look, do sometimes respect doing something, and I don't have a car. Radio affect your dad back to you. Don't put that one. I want to see how sound on car radio. You know, Amy, call radia. Yeah, right. Yes. A bit icky. Almost reduces the quality of what? Ever but aesthetic. Yeah. So that's you can explore all of these effects. Some. You may want to use some. You may not. What about here? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. They were the funny ever. The helium believes it's going to sort of give you that. That sort of chipmunk of hit? I don't know. I wouldn't recommend using this is a great Yeah. You may seem another has a great way to get it. Touch me for attention. Yeah, maybe. Okay. So you can explore all of these effects, including audio effects, and just see which one you may want to use again. Like with anything that you don't over do it. Be careful with your face, which when you gonna do but if used properly it can in Hans Theo, General quality off your video. Okay? And one more thing that we can do is normally when you end a clip or say we want to end it , right? Yeah, yeah. So you get your normal. This clip clip has got its own sort of fade out at the end, bet to you. But now we topping it off, and so it's going to suddenly in service to play it. Now, that sounds like someone just, you know, Dr Elbow off. You know what that say? We want to fade it. So if you said the end, you have these double errors. But if you go down on and you see allo allo dot that appears when you hover over the audio . And if you specifically go over that, you get these two hours, you press down and you drag that. This is basically like a slow fade up. So you have different types of being this. Okay, so So now you'll see a Texas or credible off it, and obviously, the further you pull it, the longer it's going to start the faint process. See, depending on you know, that that's works much better than the sudden eso right? Here's a Z can see how it goes down. It's slowly goes down. Then a sudden. John, you don't want that. If you go back to this double our while cooking on that and your act, look at your you have got Yes, yeah, if you can really get it to jump down quickly, I want to be smooth. Minea just slowly fade out That's looking for s so you can see how you can add all sorts of effects on really make it it interesting, depending on how you put your videos together so you can change your volume levels and chop you up, so use it quiet. And as we switch a Christ, that's not again and etcetera. So it's all about playing within the A lot of options when you come to audio again, it's all about making it sound like it's meant to be. They're putting it in, bringing out the right volume off your speaking voice and adding the background just right . Play with it. You'll find that you can really produce something quite professional 23. Ken burns and image transforms: final cut Pro We're going to be looking and how you can on some interesting effects to both static images and videos. And we're looking at the Ken Burns effect and in some other transformer fits. Because sometimes what happens especially you are including a static image. You want to give that sense of motion because it's a video you're making. So you can use Ken Burns on that or on a video and some other transforming a fix. It could just add that extra bit off something special to your videos. Okay, so the 1st 1 we're going to look at is Akin Burn. So let's take this cup, for example. We're running along the beach having lots of fun. Yeah, so from there, if you took this dragged on our and you have your crop, you see young trims way. Look at these two things. Truman crop basically allow you to just decrease the size of your videos. So you've got a portion of it. But we don't do that. We want to use skin burns named after the famous can burn. Okay, so hey, I will see this is a start, and this is our end. So it shows you where the campaigns and this button over here will switch them around in case you wanted other way. If you want to see him out or you wanna zoom in So basically just to help you to stand kin burns is really it's emotion based on crops. So essentially it's creating a sort of illusion of movement based on a starting crop in an ending crop. So, yeah, this would basically, basically be like if your camera zooming in and this is gonna be a digital zoom because we using can burn so I wouldn't go too far. And because of the quality, unless you really had good quantity Ditch, take a look at that. So starting crop Andi. Then it looks like it's sort of following us in because nearly got taken out. By the way there now, what actually happened there is we've used Ken Burns, so that person might not even realize it. But rather than the runner just vanishing smaller and smaller, we've actually managed to almost follow them with the camera, so that point they far away. But as we continue re slowly are actually Ken Burns effect towards them so that can burns effect. We can use it on all sorts of things that it's from the old things we can do with it. Okay, So for example, we ought to have this couple over here, which, as you can see, nobody stops running into a distance into the bush on the wild beasts that lived beyond there, You cross section makes you show you are on crop. I think I can burns again and obviously want to use how much you want a human by making this little box more. Just be careful that you're choosing the right one. Something a little bit confused and you editing the starting off the ends. Remember, there is a starting proposition and unending proposition. So just each of the crops as you want to do, be done, and then you have done and it will create electrons. Decision between the start crop. The in crowd. Yeah, and you just need to make sure you choose your right ending. As I see, it was not alright. Right on. As she goes forward, it seems since you sort of that's a great sort of clever way off trying Teoh trick the viewer into thinking that you were running off to the person with the camera when Victor went Okay. So the next thing we're gonna look at is how Teoh, for example, an image. Another way on how we can make the cut move. We want to make it. Because if we just played an image like this and it just stands there a static image, it's not as interesting because everything else around the video is moving. So you want to sort of bring this image to life on, Add something to it? Okay, so we have two ways. Well, two things you can do. Yeah, the one is slowly zoom in the image following, uh, how almost following the road. And another thing we can do is with this. Okay, so just make sure you are on transform, and you have your image selected to go there, transform, and you'll notice this little almost like a plus. I'm undies in a diamond. Diaz, if you click that this is basically starts with drones for child to your transforming part . So now if we go forward, this is going to decide. Like, OK, So listen, they were before so in that amount of time the clip is going to move from there today, so that's just a simple example. So it started there, and it's gonna go there. So now when you play it slowly moves to the side so you could get interesting with this and rather imprudence put it, we could make it end up back in the book. You know, you can make it end up back in the book just like that. You know, you can display around, then you can see when you play it once the exact Yeah Oh, and then had started to become a global. And another thing we can obviously do. Yes, we can slowly zoom. And so when we get back here, play it, Onda. We wanted to zoom. And so from there today, we're going to have a zoom in a certain amount. So obviously, if we had a thing once but sick in and resumed and it's on a black one, you won't even notice it. So the further you go along with the video, the longer the zooming affects going to take. We went all the way there. So these two human so basically re sizing the video to make a larger now. So as it moves across, it's gonna transform from its original size to this larger size. Again, that creates a sort of motion we running close until those dear APs. Watch out, because that's just another thing you can do with Transform. Yes, so again, all of these or ifixit can be added and applying to videos and images, and they're there to try and add a extra layer and an extra professionalism and extra advanced features to the videos you making to keep them interesting. So those are kin burns on the transforming a fix that you can play with and applying to your images annual videos. 24. Recap and Do: it's recap and do time time to just go over what we have looked at. We looked at a color effects. Is all that a fix that you can add? Two videos make It seems surreal, dreamy or whatever you like and how you can really make your videos quite interesting. Next, we looked at a time you can add audio. You can add extra clips of music you can add, uh, fiddle with your own sound. You could do fade out for your order at the end of your songs, etcetera, and we looked at a hollowed of the effects that you can play with in terms off audio. After that, we went and had a look at how you could do some quite interesting things with editing, using things like in Burns to try and create the sense off motion are there in a static image or in a video so we could create a sort of arc effect that it looked back. We was zooming in and following a runner. We could even start to fiddle with a static image that we had and make that people sense that we're following the people in the image without camera. So those are some things we looked at. Color fixed at the audience, some in depth or your settings images in Ken Burns. It's now up to you to play with these things again, to say that over and over again. Learning happens in the doing, so you've got to get out there. Give it a try. Try some of these things again. If you have any questions, feel free to drop us a note online, and we will surely try and help you. So try what we've covered. Play around because even if you make mistakes, that's really learning really happened. So go have some fun. Get out there, play with color or year and some of the special effects. 25. Chroma Keying intro: what Obama won. Crazies up. Yeah, what is going on? Impressive. Go somewhere else. What is unbelievable? It's about time travel dropping. Try it. Oh, yeah, people. Yeah, well, maybe know that. Incredible. You know what's going on? This is something we see all the time in Hollywood productions, and its common name is Green Screen goes. Actually, I'm not standing in this amazing environment. There's a green screen. That's all it is, and it's a school technique. Teoh to create this illusion that the person is standing in a in a different environment. It's actually called chroma key. It doesn't happen to be a green screen, but it's a great effect that could be used to censor to remove the green screen or whatever colored is and replace it with another image or a video. And the sweet is incredible special effects in these movies, with volcanoes behind people, they wow or they standing on top of a mountain. Or there's a beautiful beach view behind them, whatever it may be that sel chroma keying. But if you take a look at rap a little studio yet you will see we're not in any of these exciting environments and What we want to do is show you how you can use this very powerful technique in final cut Pro. Now the two parts to it. The one part is obviously the studio set up, and that's actually relatively simple. We'll come back to that because you don't necessarily have to have a green screen or a blue screen. You can actually use just a painted wall. You've just gotta watch the colors that you using because the white painted war will mean that you end up losing your eyeballs and your teeth with those colors are removed. So you gotta watch the color that you see. But you can just use a basic painted war and some lighting. But that's just part of the story. The other part of the story is in making this happen. This magic happen in final cut pro, and that's what you want to show you as well. You want to show you how to apply chroma keying how to use masking etcetera to actually create this effect inside of funk a pro. Now why would you want to do is maybe you think it will. I'm not gonna make a Hollywood production. You never know you may want to, but it's also great even if you are not restraining great special effect. But if you're trying to do online courses, online training courses, because what it does is it allows you to make your material mawr engaging. So consider. Of course, that's maybe based around some power points lines. And so you got the letter talking. So what do you options? You just put the slides on the screen and students, what's the slides? As bullet point of the bullet point of the bullet point comes up, the other option is you can do which a lot of people do is. They place themselves in one of the bottom corners is a little shot of them talking, sitting in front of keeping get again. That's not as interesting. What isn't interesting is if you put yourself is the teach inside the slide. So all of a starting behind here, you're in the slide just like you can see my slide here. Now I'm in the slide, and so what do we want to cover in this course? Well, to shoot the shot, we wanted to go through falling objects. We want to look at the Amazing View, a couple of dimes. We wanted to talk about interest to chroma keying and how we're going to show you how you edited and face and final cut pro. And there were also talk about a studio set up. Now this is more interesting because you're getting into the content and it makes it more engaging for your student. You may be trying to demo something. Maybe you're trying to demo. We've got other courses, say, like a running course, and I want to talk about the person's running start again. I could actually be, Yeah, you see those how they're running there yet? That's a great way of running. That's called gliding. It has the least impact, but now I'm almost yellow with the people running. It allows you to put yourself inside the content so it has a lot of potential, and we want to show you in the next couple of lessons how you can achieve this really easily. These amazing advanced features, whether you want to create special effects or really up your game when it comes to producing online course content. So let's take a look at how you do it 26. Chroma Keying: Well, time to see how we created that video you saw in the previous lesson, which is called chroma Keying or green screening. So we want to bring you through the process off creating or using the green, green, green, green screen of victory Chroma keys up. First up, What we gonna do is we're going to create a new event, and so we just give us the name. This is cool it growing my keying. So we're gonna use this as the event which we're going to make on the projects are Vince, remember, sit under libraries and we at the moment have entitled Project here. We'll just also give this a name called the same thing Crime, a king or whatever. So you can remember that it is the same thing. So we've basically creating a event and projects. So our next step, once you've done that, is to drag in our content. So what we did is we filmed this obviously on our camera and we've got two pieces of content. We don't come into the detail of how to do synchronization and everything later that will drag them both in the one is the video file and the other one is a separate file, which was our recording on our external mike. One of the mikes were using, So we've dragged in both of those into. It ended me that you can see some of the green screen effect there. What you constitute fix. You can see the green screen, and you can see the life. The box like that are set up. Okay, so now that we have, ah, video in order, the 1st 1 we're gonna do is try and remove the background and not have as you consume aside here we have the lot and all of that. We wanted to get rid of that. So, as you know, we need to mosque it well of we need to get rid of these ages yet. Okay, So what we have to do is drawn more so that we don't get any of these lots in the background. And then there's just no with fix. We've got all of this 50 TV and all of that. Well, so this in a previous listen, these different effects. But while they could just add, you know, make things look like you've got an old TV, there's also some very important effects that you can use now when we come to the chroma key gets that First of all, we want to use this marks. So if you're going aside Yep. Make sure you make sure you that you are on here on your video fix figure. Come on to the side and see this. This thing called mosques. So if you click on that, you see these different tops. So essentially, this is not too dissimilar to what we looked in The previous lesson really looked at cropping, but this is gonna have a special effect on our video. Okay, sir, if you don't want to come to that area there or you just want to search for it So Mr Say we go mom, and then you see her come up. If you're looking for fix and you want you don't know if they have it or not, just make sure to search query of finding things. Okay, so we're dragging the drawer mosque onto the image so you see as to drag it onto this video and Utama on it will come up with this little ad control point and you also notice on the on the top right inside again under your settings. That tells you now that there is an effect that is being added to this video indicated by the little tick next to draw mosque. Okay, so the first thing you want to do is we want to crop out the section that is green and doesn't have lucky. See, every day it lots of shadows. Now, when we doing this with me drawing this mosque around, you do have to be careful because as you So I moved around. So my hands I can just cropped right next to my arms of the moment because I know my arms are going to come out to the left. So you just gotta watch that. Yes. Oh, well, trust it's basically like drawing now. So we're gonna start to draw around me as wide a sort of area, but not too wide that we think I come in a stay within that area. Yes. I suspect the old drawing days, when you are at preschool, says what is you can draw without having like shadows like that is typically that this Obviously this is where your lighting is. Quite important. We haven't got the most fantastic lighting here in the studio. He's doing a couple of extra lights. We'll talk about that. Another lesson. But the bottom line is you can still solve most of your problems inside or final cut pro. Very powerful. There's some little out See as I draw the last checkpoint as you click on it, it will remove all of the background and the thing that you draw, we'll be the thing that's highlighted. OK, so we've removed all the extraneous stuff we don't want. But now that's part of the story, said by running the the video through quickly, you can quickly start to see you see, I'm starting to step out there a little bit so you can start to see if you have to adjust it. So good idea to just sort of move through the video quickly, just to see if there's any major issues of you jumped out of the out of the scene. Okay, so now that we have a mosque, this is the real test of your green screen. Is good or not, we need to apply the chroma keying effect. So also on the saadiya, you'll see, we have this thing called key. And so what? This is if you click on it, Yeah, and you see you. We don't get any results, but that's because we have mosques selected. So make sure you don't have that. If, like if you took on one of these side options and you know USAA you see, we have this keying effects. So now if we drag this and we put it on Teoh clip right there, just like we did with the masking, you see what will try. Remove what color is the most like I said immediately identify that. Obviously, the green is the thing you don't want and has done a fairly good job off moving it. Now, if you look really carefully, you'll notice where it hasn't got it totally right. And that's to do with shadows, and that's where the lighting becomes really important. But even if you have another best lighting like, we haven't got the absolutely most amazing sit up yet, the are still ways around that it gets you know, how we have our fix on our settings, Amanda tells us. A free added a new effect. Black we have back here so if we click this option called sample color. So this is basically, as you can see with the picture, What is the green screen? This is what shouldn't be This. So that is a sample of what it must remove if you drag with your mouths along because we had a Yeah, I see. It was a little bit of it. The perfect spot. Yeah, so you can start to remove the spots that shouldn't is a bit of an issue between the legs there and got to be quite accurate lies. We start making my little feet disappear as well. Yeah, yeah, no, to see this is all with the Latin comes into play. So if you have not the best lighting, see if you typically need Teoh, just have lots on the green screen so that you don't have the shutter. And if you do have a shadow pick, you quickly notice it while you're busy editing. So you see, it's not terrible. So the sample cholerae does help, but it can only help so much. You really have to get the right Latin. But also what's gonna make a difference is we'll see it be once we can adjust the size of how I am, what I look like and obviously won't be sticking out. Background you'll find, even if it's not totally perfect. It's hardly noticeable. Yes, so when you put in your background and all of that, you are broadly, don't anything, Okay, so it's basically got just the basics off me, appearing without a background on. We will have a look in the next lesson, and we started just size, trimming our image and making it appear even more riel. 27. Adding Background: welcome to Part two, all of the chroma keying effect and creating special effects of green screen. So in the previous video, we just looked at using masking and the keying effect, which is on the side here for removing the background So you can see over here it's got a green screen, but appear there is no green screen now. What we want to do is we want to add something in the background because we had sort of things and visual effects happening. So we want to look at two things, adding that background, getting it right, adjusting size off your person who's in the video and or sell Viste trying Teoh trim the video to the right size. So we are going to We wanted, in effect, that had something to do with falling rocks or something on the right place at the moment. But we've gotten effect, and we just actually used action movie. It's a little after you can get for free on iPhone and possibly another devices as well and what you always did with it, as we literally film the green screen with that. And so it gave us an option to have four rocks, Right? So that's gonna be our 1st 1 air. We need to get there in the right position. Josh, let's get that one working. And then we'll look at the others and where you can get free videos you can use. Okay, So the first thing we need to do is look that way to start a video. Because I know we did have a retake somewhere Messam started stepping out of the out of the camera. These are part of the joy on only halfway through. I realize that you have to be careful. You try and put a marker on the bottom on the floor, my feet getting very close to where that market wise Great. You can see we went. Sure, here's gonna That's all wrong. We're gonna do retakes that we're gonna It's true that a lot one Okay, just another point. Before we do the trimming, you'll notice that we do it 3 to 1 and then a clap. We also some of use a clapper board on. We'll see that becomes important later. When we look at synchronizing the audio, it helps you to synchronize it, get things into alignment. But the moment. It's just from out the part we don't need. Okay, so they weaken started again. You can just use the arrow keys and left and right for more finer moving, so you can either drag the mouse. But if you just press the left and right, Cherokees, you can actually move a little bit more accurate if you just use your Archies and also every hold down shift you can see it makes a larger movement. It's about a second and makes each movement like half a second. So if this is one split chicken with just the arrow key, and if you hold down shift, there'll be a second. So now we're gonna have to do some trimming here. Some from the old blading be for Blade that you now make that incision. Okay, so we're gonna do this to the side and weaken Delete this part of the club. Okay, so now we need to find more. Are Tom Ing So play, I guess. I mean, I get that that's falling rocks to sort of come at the right spot so that it's sort of a G looks realistic. God say like, yeah, you'll see it's jumping wants to immediately hit linked to the front. That's because we've got a snap on. So if you wanna have the timing not to be as you want to have a little bit more control, you can turn the snap off and then you'll find that you can move in a little bit more accurately without a jumping. Yeah, that exact smoking get just before just after. So now when we play, we can We just need a side on this. What? This is not looking very realistic, but, you know, it takes hours. Now is if you want to get the just ratification. We don't talk about this before. This is the sole concept off that just one minute of final production. Thank you, Owl. This is where it really starts to your time. If you want to play with this one. Yeah, so just as a quick it can just we can crop this out and we need some affect black, almost like we did back there as a piece falling, falling down to the screen as the rocks almost pushed him down. So if we go here to overtax transitions, you'll see we have quite a few So we did cover transitions in another part of the course of you haven't covered that or don't know how to go and check out the lesson on transition. Yes, you have a few. The one we might want to use is this one will just look. Look at them. Which one is that? If you drag your mouse points wherever it you can get a sort of a sense of how the affected where I say we just we just test it up, but just dragging it on set, we just need to make a quick decision. Yeah. Remember, transition works between two parts of the video, so we have to blade it on. There were going to get a transition effect on that video. They say no. Remove that and we can watch this. Okay, so now, as you can see, as you know, this as this transition happens, we want another background to come because we wanted to, almost of like, he's fallen and he lands into another into another world. Magical will. So this is where we get up background. So, yeah, on the side. You see, we have a few one, like a city affects That's how I got to all these different places. I could be on the beach, I. So where we get the stuff, you can get some of your own and obviously like how you can use a power point and had the slots behind you if you want. But for this we just use the cycle picks obey. Fix it by the great side because on again we've looked at other sites that use, like then sound that allows you use the audio for free or depend on how you use it with just giving credit to fix it to Ben Sound. With picks Obey, they've got a huge range off three images and video really is great growing all the time. So if you just want to find free images and it's about a basically, you don't even have to give I a credit. If you don't want to, it's up to you, but they do allow you to use it for whatever purposes you like. And that was easy video shared by generous community. So over a 1,000,000 images at the moment in that's growing rapidly is a great place to come and find video backgrounds or just images that you can use in your videos. Okay. So, yeah, if you're looking for a background or something like that, it's a really good place to go. We need to get one of the backgrounds. And so we should really in first so we can go. Yeah, maybe we'll land a city at a store in the city. I don't wanna be in the city for too long, so yeah, lets go there. We just and it behind Senna. Remove the layers are important, because if you put it in front, I'm going to vanish behind, because I have now got this transparent background. It's actually okay. 28. Adding Background pt2: Okay, So I don't think the suffix gonna work for us. Because, as you can see it, like the mixer still doing fake. Yeah, it seems really fake. So what great actually going to do? We're going to use the trans decision to make it look like he's falling. So as we knew with a that we did before, we have the option to lack slowly make something move. Like, as you said with the photo, like how we made it look like we'll follow. It comes under transforming and cropping. And Kinberg? Yeah, we can do that with videos as well. So if we go to the end of this one right here, so we want to make it look like Okay, so that happens. And he's falling. So we go here bringing to the start. It's good, man. Okay, so now if you if you go here to your transforming menu And so let's just say we want him to be somewhere up there here like that and then falling down. So we did cover this in another lesson, but now you can see we sometimes a shortcut doesn't work with just trying to add a transition. You gotta use your own skills and transform again. This is where all the time comes in. Yes, it's not that hard. We'll go here and, you know, as you cook this low Damn and you click it and then you decide how long you want him to four for. So just a short while that and he falls down. Let's just make it look like it's standing. Okay? Look bigger. So this is all really how you got to get that farm chaining just so it makes it look realistic. So we almost have it like that. Now we watch and we see if it's what we want. You see, that took a lover too long. So you're gonna have to make it even shorter. Gates annoyed at that. So now we go back. Yeah. And you see this the diamond as a change, is it to death? That's way we've previously had it. So we wanna uncheck that. So that means we That's why yeah, Yeah, that's where you have to use the hours to finally see exactly where we had it. You know, you can get back a but should make it real quick. Yeah, that was me just coming quick. Yeah. Say he'll be falling down and like that to see if that's a bit better. Was getting idea. You can see as we sitting editing that can take you a whole lot of time that you have the ability to do all sorts of amazing knowledge to see if this scene wicks. So you can see this is some people boxing reactions, how they look like giants. So we might s so we could obviously crop the bottom videos. So maybe we don't need to start at bottom video there. We'll take up the first part. Yes. So let's just take it from there. So it is going to blade it, a move, the very spot. And now move it back to be in line again. Yes. Today we can take it. Not when you play looks a little bit more. Really. Looks like the gas turned around to look at me. You honestly wasn't worried about the fording rocks? Yeah, we're gonna have that video is not too short. Obviously you can other change its length. Remember how you can do that? They were covered. That changing the speed, the timing Obviously you could even take the video and paste it again. But it would look a little bit weird because you have the people repeating themselves. Yeah, he's okay. So this is really getting very short. So this thing we can try do was repeat, this is auditioning up very professional. But if we copy this command, see? And then we pasted again. We can see if this will work for us. It's you might notice a little bit of Ah, jerk. Crazy. Yeah. You might notice a bit of a gym for That's better than not having enough for their for their again. You know, the evil, the details and obviously not trying to make a movie here. But how long you could spend on actually just trying to find the right background curbs to get the timing right of those to get it to look right? So that look seamless. So you can see why we in Hollywood has to make a tnc production. It literally does take several years to get the thing right. Okay, So we you know, the scene going to carry on until somewhere along the line on a click. I think you can see the little spark say we just probably need a repeat this one more time . Then I think we can change the scene. Maybe you're gonna have to making love slower, Slower. That's caused out to weaken hope. You can see whether with my click Mark is there on the screen. And so we now gonna switch seen as soon as we have the click. Here we go. 321 So now there we can change the scene. So obviously this isn't the best idea because of this trip was pretty short, but obviously confined longer clubs. You could even have your own clip. So we're gonna repeat the same thing now, over and over again. Adding Theoden inal clips to to the scenes we can continue to create that effect can look for another one. It's just t uh Let's make it get slowly, get better. I said this one will be next. Our Gary run gold about Gabby out. So we put that Yeah, maybe we have to make sure it's on time. So catching the script or something? Totally perfect timing. The can I see adjusted. So if you zoom in with other bookings, it remember the zooming in you can. If you've got a touch pad, you could just use this for. You can use the final zooming options on the right inside our final compactly. Do you have options against so we can see it's a little bit off, so we just need a It dragged it back. And now when the shot again see, it just needs a bit of rendering tasting outlets. Drugs. What? It's nearly Yeah, I think that it's good enough is good enough. Yeah. See, that's obviously where you can take collective again. Obviously, we could add a little transition here. We had, like, a do away will ripple or something. And suddenly, you know, So you that would actually eat a bit of a pop. Perfect at it. Yeah, I had something. I just sort of And straw flash. I don't know. As you can see, it doesn't automatically create a transition. This obviously meaning these types of that era. So you see, now go. There's not enough. It was really We've chopped slips up and then slow mo. So we've talked about it again to transition. Can has to work of a certain ends, but it'll try its best to get that, right? Yeah. See? You can see Get rid of that. It's made this into almost it's combined with these trips together you can see like a story landing. So now in your player. Yeah, you can see now we have quite a few. We've got this, Lomer. We have this flash and we've got this next slip in between. So now if you don't let it rained us can see right there has a low but flag. But if you just wait a little But eso again remember we talked about watching him to see the top of the screen here, it showing you the background tasks that are busy going on. It is busy rendering and 10%. It takes a bit of a while. If you actually want to see the full impact of your effect, you may have to wait a bit there. And this is obviously depending on what computer? Using it marked place straightaway. It might take a year to rain. That s so the water is starting to play with these really special effects the chroma keying and the transitions and the transforming except the more you need Tiu have processing power . Mawr memory, etcetera to make it effective. You see? Now, when we watch this, you see, it is a bit off. So look, the capsule a bit off, but we can change that up. You can just We're just gonna have Teoh. Okay, so now reflected this part. Render. As you can see, there's no dotted line on the top There, you see, this basically tells how much trended and what they're still rendering. That's going on. But the part that we interested in has already rendered taken, see down there has rendered. But we're not working with that right now. What? Yeah, sure enough. We play this, you can see we stop a delay, but I see it's set up just for doing that. A case, uh, figured out the problem. This is actually not This is just changing the bottom. So it's not actually a VC here. It it moves a top along with it. So what I actually just did is made a low khaki on a cut there so we could have olive downtown against, as you can see now, that's a lot better, because I cut it Rock there and there. Okay, so now we need to watch for the next time that he moves his hand or is like we have to get just like this so that we can change the background again way we can just watch the video and we can look where he does it. Yeah, you notice he are that as I'm watching the video, it's very low and frames. That's because it's not Rain did. And I've got, like, a and busy recording my screen, and I got, like, 1000 things going right now. So you march, you might not have this problem, that your frames are very low and also your c on the topping out of you. You have a better quality and better performance if you have a better quality, and you might also have a bit of stepped on leg. And obviously, um, I would recommend better performance because once a strain did, you can see it in good quality, and you can obviously share your video. So I would definitely suggest in you obviously have it in the small screen of Yasser having a bit of quality. You won't notice that much, but you will notice when the frames alone. Okay, so that's Ah, first of all, special effect or second special effect in on, uh, you want to show you another one? Because at the end of this scene, and we try to use a different sort of hand motion to change things, So the term I look at another one 29. Adding BG swipe and sound effects: Welcome back. We were looking in our previous video, which is part of the chroma keying the green screening, how to add different backgrounds and how finicky it can be. We looked at the videos that you can drop in and how you can fiddle with everything from try incisions to transforming to get the effects writes. It takes a lot of time. We want to carry on doing that just to show you some of the other effects that you can do also using backgrounds. So we busy transporting me around the will different spots on. Now we're gonna use a slightly different effect because I want to swipe instead of click to get to my next destination. Okay, So as you play here, we can look for the next time he changes scenes. Yes, he did. He doesn't swap. So let's get I different effect role in the click and whatever so we can go to transitions . To do this, we have to work to try not. I don't have to cut that out. So again, be for blade removed the piece that you don't want us switching across to eight for the selector hand. Okay, so now we can use this beach one a year. Yeah. Let me put me on the beach. Right. So we came from the big moderns on to the beach. Okay, so now we want to use an asked chances in that rucksack is actually luck. Using his hand. Change the scenes, we could use complex, transforming top things. But that's going to move me. So it's not really me. We want to sort of try and shift the one video out and pull the other video in. So there's also different stars you could use. He could have Cuba dots. You can just look. It looks interesting. Okay, so now we can take a look at this video, for example, a case. And now let's take a look at this video player. Yeah. You see, we don't have the best time. The looks like a right to that effect. But we've got to get it as my hand sort of comes out like we did with the last one year we bladed. So we chucked. You can see we've put snap to back on so that we can do else blading a little bit more accurately. Lineup with peace. Beloved, we wanted to start there, removed a section on debt. See if that helps vacation. Now, when we play, it looks like he's changing it. Almost bust that obviously have little lots of different ones. You kind of want to find the right one that matches are seeing. Could you slept? We could flip. Yeah, it is that this many you could just explore through all these different options you might want to use. There is certainly a lot of different transitions. And if you don't want Teoh do this chopper Lopez off, you should rather chop from this can also chopper the bottom here. But that might take a lot more time because it's every distract from the video. We know exactly when he's going to use his hand. But a free chop off from this piece that would look a little bit clean and always see we could, George Back said. But it all depends on how much time you're going to spend on just editing. Do you want to get old doing this? I get out Thing is spot on, right? So there's another effect. So what we've done is we now use transitions to movie to a new environment. Now there's all sorts of other things that could be going on here. I mean, obviously, you know, we could change the color. You know, I'm not exactly right there. You can start adding layers because you want the sound of the sea to come out stronger and on and on and on and could go so it really can be quite a process. Yes, obviously. Like, for example, just saying about, like, the color. Let's say, for example, we're in the city. This could actually pretty interesting. Yeah, we will switch. We could have, like, a fifties TV or something like that. Just so it matches the background. Yeah, whatever. Something. Now I've gone. I've gone into a different sort of matching color to the city of move back in time. This is the old New York were just black and white in New York. Yeah, said maybe he's a little bit brought day. So let's just go. What? So know me? Matches the background? Yeah, again. You know, it's looking pretty good now, but you could also fiddle with Sandra. We could ever hooting cars again. You could go to places like been sound to get that sort of thing. Teoh Make it so It's the apple does have a lot of things like that. Like, for example, if we just had a search for something like tea could see we've got lots. Yeah, you got cause driving zones so we could drag. One of these sounds will be dragged one and see how it efforts any to see that. Yes. And now, if we just drag this on, you see like that and we could have this cover our whole city section. We stop there because that's where city ends. And this is the signal example off how you can keep on adding a fix and making your clip. Na sissy. What? You know, it's matches the city theme, so on and on, you can go. But this is just on how much time you have and how much energy you are preparing to put into your video. 30. BGs and slides: are we looking out? G A. Cromer effect on? We're looking at green screen on the previous videos you look and how he added some special effects added background videos and all the intricacies involved. So we are going to continue to look at that because we just want to show you now how to build yourself into slides and things like that. Then we have also now It added some other sounds, so we had it sounds to try and make it more interesting. They're under sound of fix. So we did demonstrate in the previous video, adding a sort of Salins around the city. So there's a city sound. We've not added other ones to give us a sort of Foresti sound of it. Yeah, unbelievable. And then we've also added awful this part. Yah, some beach sounds credible. So what you can do, remember is you can adjust. Obviously, the the sound off your background sound your fixed up and down. You can do it here on the actual footage, or you can do it on the theme or this. I see sittings on the top right inside under volume, where you can adjust it as well so you can adjust your speaking sound in the background sound to just right. But just have to be careful sometimes that when you do put these ambient sounds and they tend to drown out the voice, especially here, because my mike is not gonna pick me up totally well, because we were using a mike that is sitting behind Be so again. Now I'm talking a little bit away for them. Mike, I'm not using a lapel. Mikes that need to be a little careful of that. Okay. So, yeah, as you can see, a sound fix when you start talking kind of blocks it out. So as we can do is just chop this and suddenly lower the volume. This makes for a nice little effect, as you see here so we can lower the chopper day in consortia. So now when you play your notice, it's like, Yeah, well, just be quiet. So we created the ambiance of the thing, but now what? I'm speaking, we don't the sea sound to be drowning things out. Okay, so I think what we're gonna do is we're gonna want to make this a little bit longer so we can because you can see he's talking about the background. So we're just It's pretty repetitive background. So you won't notice if we repeated at all. So if we added, then you can have the dragon again. Or you can just come to Bondi. Yeah. Come on. Come on. Yet another times we also changed the speed. You can slow down your waves like that. You probably wouldn't roster knows that too much in this particular shot. Yes, and now you can see he talks about how there's a green screen. OK, so let's actually switch across to showing you that green screen. So we're gonna not use our blade again. Teoh this listen to we stocks talking about it there. It's now we can played it again. So when he stops talking about the green screen we have we haven't back standing in a beautiful environment, so we don't have to go through all the editing. Okay, So since what we want to do now is, we actually want to show you the green screen. So we're gonna remove the effects that have been applied to that video. So you're in movie applied. That's chroma. Keying effects on the right side of the sittings. You can see the FX that being applied, and we want to remove that effect from Okay, yeah, click on that one. We've just chosen and on select. And also we're gonna want to take out the mosque because, as you can see here, so remember there were two parts of this. We added a mosque, and we also added a crime. Or if it s a you can see you out. There he is. He's not gonna be directly and answer. We might just bring him to the middle for this part. So Sienna transform how we have these coordinates. And if you see here, we have a Lobaccaro said, What this will do is it's just gonna remove or the fix we have put under the positioning certificate. They now he's back into the cameras back while this screen is back into the original shoot was Yeah, let's have a look. So now the the viewer gets to see what's actually going on. Okay, now back Teoh putting on environment back again. Yeah, So we can just repeat this if you Come on, see? And come on, V, That is much like it. Yeah, So you repeat this. Obviously, we have to also eventually pull through all our our sound. If we want to have that a little beachy wavy thing going on. Yeah, we're gonna have to add the sun hurts. Actually, these things go on for quite a while, so we will actually be able to drag this tow. It doesn't go for that. They're just gonna have to repeat it again. But no one will note, especially with this kind of sounds. No one's paying that much attention. So what, you can see it is happening here, you know, with the multiple layers. And that's why you can see it gets quite complex. Lots of clips laid on top of each other, lots of effects. And that's why it's important to stick your track of what you're actually doing. But it's a great thing. Be age, green screen, replace. I know. Okay, so now I think what we want to do if you listen here we want to do is show you how can you ? They're topple. Take me. So he's not really talking about how he's in this new background. He smoked, agreeing about how he's using this green screen so I think we're gonna keep the green screen for now. Yes, again. We're just going to use our like we did early up. You can use our little blade option and we can move out of the mosque and the king in even take off transforming with this low tech shaken added later, if you really want. So now when you play back to back in the studio, one part is over studio set up, and that's actually relatively simple. Okay, so here he's talking about that. You want to, like using powerful it slides. And now we'll show you how we would normally do this if you weren't using the chroma keying . So we're gonna dragon. I gotta slide. That was being used. I had it set up on a computer and I could see my slide. And so this is the slide. We're gonna just drag in and this is slider Now, want my students to see? So now this is traditionally how you might do it. So you're gonna have that slide, and that's gonna be a cutaway. It's gonna show the sliding and see how much less interesting this is one. So the other option they were talking about is sometimes you just have the person placed in the bottom corner even do that. Even though he's in the green tomb. You can still do that, so yeah, yes. Yeah. So let's just given example. So if we do this when we did this, you can add this to stop the government having to move it up, because what's happening is the slide. Is eso overlaying us? We don't want this to because if we take this at the time, it's gonna be like we're gonna be overlaying re audio clip. So what we actually can do as we want to copy this and then put it on top so we can just copy that. And then if you delete this like that, you'll see just jumps the issue, rather, uh, so just add this in removing that clip to the top, So bring this top here. Now you can see this one and two of them black. Yeah. So what you can do is conserved deleting as hold down shift and then hit, Delete and you'll see it just shifting. Backspace blanks it out. So we want to keep that gaps that keeps out timing rocked, and now we've moved me to the top said, Now we can change the sizes and all of that certificate. Yeah, so now we're going back to our transforming. So this is the normal way Someone would have just probably cut themselves down. Teoh still square, shaped ours and stuck themselves in the corner of the slot. And the one thing I have realized now it's not actually transform. That's because we have this once elected. So it's not even allowing us to use this. And now when we re select it, we can easily go back. Yeah, again, we could obviously use now crop efectos to crop out some of the the the things that are happening there. So it seems that we have added low point to Humadi move had moved to the side. Okay, we'll be staying still. So that's good. So this is just giving, for example off how we could have just had the person on the side. You know what ever again? So that's sort of I can you a lot of people try and do that little talking here on the side , but that's not what you want to do. What can be more interesting is now to actually make it appear like you in the start, you put yourself in a slide all it was starting behind you. Okay, so now he talks about being inside the slot. So now we can grab this, copied us and paste it under. Come on, C Come on, feet. So now we can use a special cream screening Fix this under. So this is gonna be on new Becker. And so where be video backgrounds? Previously? We're gonna use my slide. And this is something that really is great way off getting your student attention to be a little bit better. You're using slides or sometimes things. Yes. And now we see we just gonna want every add up a fix to this video, put a mosque, and I came back on. And now all of a sudden, I'm actually inside that slide, and we can now position me to be wherever we need to exit. Okay, so now we can move him to the side. As you can see, we still have ah transforming things selected. So let's just put this back. Abstinence is is going to get rid of all the previous affix we had. It's now we can move to the side without having him going a little line, which is also an option if you really want. So now it's just position home tonight when we play behind the slide. Well, it was starting behind you. You're in the slide, so this is actually quite a important effect because it allows you to try and keep the person's attention while you are talking. So that's basically your chroma keying your G greens screening effect. Very powerful. You could do so many things, hoping what you have seen is it dies. Take a lot of time. It is finicky. But if you put in the time you can create some really amazing effects, it's all within your ability. It also chair within final cut pro. It is a combination off video, fiddling with the videos, putting different sounds in the background but changing transitions, transforming understanding your layers. All of these become important in creating the green screen special effects and additionally has said it's a great way if you are trying to produce course videos to make it look like you actually are in your course content. So that becomes a great way to try and make it more realistic. So that's green screening. It's a great way off, ready and pick up what you're doing. We are going to look in another video, just some of the tools and things you need and the technology in place to get this to happen. It's not that complex is something that is within reach of everyone. If you got to final cut pro, it covers a multitude of sins and allowed you to achieve these amazing effects. So I hope you are keeping up with those are enjoying the fantastic effects that you can implement with final cut pro. 31. How to setup screen recording: so for this. Listen what we're gonna look at, I want to show you how we actually do on screen recording. And also again, we talked about the mikes. But how The different Mike's also play a role even when you're doing screen recording. So there's lots of things you can use things like him, Tasia, or we just use the built in quick time player. We got temptations. Well, if we want to use that so you just launch Quick Tom following news screen recording as simple as that. And once you're ready, you'll notice that you've got options here off the internal, Mike, or we can use the other Mike that we've got. Sit up on top. This is Ah, Zoom age five, Mike. So I just want to show you the difference. This is now. We're gonna start recording using just an intern online. It cost. Do you want toe record, part of the screen or the whole screen? We happy to record the whole screen so we are just going to hit click it and right at the top. Yet you'll know it is is little icon that tells you that it's now starting to record So now we can do everything we've been showing you we doing on my editing, whatever it is. But the mic that we're using is still the internal Mike. And I'm gonna show you how important it is to again have a good mike. Have you got a good mic? It's gonna change the quality or how you are presenting and putting together your content. So at the moment or this recording is on the internal, Mike and we're gonna switch it across to show you what it looks like if we use our other Mike. So we're gonna take the zoo, Mike, and we're gonna play this one in going to use that for recording now. Right? So we're going to do another screen recording. So new screen recording metric. The drop down this time next to the thing you'll see there is a new option. So rather than internal Mike, I want to actually choose my h five mike as my source. So it's choose that. Wait for it, Teoh. Start ups, right? So now we're using our screen recording. Quick time is now recording. And now this recording is using the H five Mike for the audio So we are gonna look at another lesson how to get all these synchronized, and that's quite important. But you'll notice. Here is a big difference in using that h five Mike compared to just using your internal speak of mine. And I'm gonna show you how important it is to again have a good mike. If you got a good mic, it's gonna change the so Getting the right marks is also a good idea was the position your mike in the right space is also a good idea to try and fiddle with to try and get it just right. So there's a wall parts off the great journey off becoming more provisioned and video editing using final cut pro and sitting up your studio. 32. Saving Effects: We've been looking at chroma key and green screening and all the amazing things you can do with it. And it's quite an involved process. And we've looked at how you have to apply all sorts of things in terms of both the key air in the mosques and etcetera to your screens. And so if you've got multiple clips, different clips, but you need to sort of continue to apply the same effect, they could take a lot of time because every time you any new clip and you've got to create the mosque, you've gotta do the keying. You might have to touch up the key and because in certain areas where you need to pick up sample colors to get a more accurate and so is to take a lot of time. And we found this with some of our longer video courses over and over and over again, something 100 more lessons, this canticle of time. But there really is a clever way in which you can try and save time. So Josh is going to lead you through the process. Okay, So, like in this course we had over here, Okay, for example, this Yeah, this running course, you will notice that, um that there was a blue screen and for each lecture there was actually we're using a blue screen and then would have explaining and all of that. So instead of having to redo those effects, add like, keying and masking each time there is a much easier way. So let's go back here and I'll show you an example. Okay, so now over here, we were given example off how you can be inside the slide. Let's say often we want to have that effect again. But let's say this may be like a different project, so we don't want to try get the same effect, redo the mosque ing and all of that because we've now got this in the new project. So the easier way to do this is by simply going here. As you know, we have lots of effects we've got. We've made him a little bit smaller, with added keying with added masking. You can see all the fix on the side. Remember, under your settings on the side, you can see all the ones that got the little ticks on them. So I take it quite a bit of time to get that. Just how we want it. Yeah. Said now, if we are planning on using this, these effects more often, Lee, you're seeing on the side here. This is option called Save a Fix Precinct. So now if you click on this, what this is basically going to do is all these affects we have over here. It is going to save them into one of these things over here. So basically, you can see we've got different installed effects from TV to black and white to be used something. Basically, you're creating your own effect, which is really cool. As you see this blue screen, you will notice you don't have this one. We created this one for specifically for using a blue screen and the rats like size. We want it. So now for this, let's say we're going to use this often. We'll save, save their fix. So now you can see all or it has Rocky A. So if we save it, okay, we can give it another name. Her you can call it. It was Call it in slide effect or whatever. What? It was gonna make sense to you some sensible known and then it's safe. Now when you save it, you'll wonder. OK, what happened? You like? Okay, maybe I'll just drag this over. And because you have obviously, if you're making a new event, you'll be like a K. I want to put my slide and then how that at it. So you simply go here and you go search for your fix, Lahd. And it's not effect. You see a drop. So now if we just dragged us on bang done, you go. So that's really a quick well off applying affects obviously could not tweak it again on so we could move me to move to the side. But all of that work around masking the crow, me editing, the sizing and any other thing that you applied, even the extra we had to apply to try and get the crime in effect, right? All of that has been applied, so it's nice and quick. And so once you got your fit, good idea. Save it. You could have different ones, so we've got in slide effects. So there's a certain size you might have whatever it is, all your different types of fixed and they just get saved on the side. Yeah, so that is definitely it's not only blue screening, this painter things that made you be doing our color corrections, a certain style of work that you wanted. When you figure out OK, I'm going to use the same affects. A lot of times it is really a good idea to save your fix. And that can save you a lot in a lot of time again and could even apply to putting on titles, transitions just about anything that you're applying to try and improve what you do. Your videos. Those can all be saved as preset effects. So that's preset affects another hand little tip to try and make your life easier species against these more advanced features that do take a lot of time for you to get right 33. Studio setup: Ah, we should around Studio City, right? So there's not a fancy studio, just, uh, little room. But this is where we make the action happened that the real Magic Office V happens in in your final cut pro. But just do a little bit about a sit up that you could have in any little room like this. We used to have a green screen, one of the ports at a broad costume company, not too expensive again. It's not perfect. We had a blue screen before, but this one seems to work better than the blue screen. One that they should be found is the size of the screen a little screen tenants could've around. So if I was talking, you get to be heard and have a long asleep. It's possible to nice people, so there are a race that you can be as fresh as possible. My hands out of the blue screen, which was a problem. So it's not a big one. Another alternative is we could actually just paint the wall behind there green. You can do that and it goes away. We'll just find some material. You'll notice the material curves around so that we want to get full body shots. We can, so you get a full body shot, get the whole body. And if you just got to try and get shots from your waist up, you can still use the green screen. Obviously don't have to have it going onto the floor. So that's the one thing the big thing with your green screen is trying to get. Draw your lighting rights and what we've got here is not Turkey perfect. We need to spend more money on this. We have got these two box lights that give you a nice soft light. And essentially what they're aimed at doing is trying to ensure I don't have shadows behind me. So what's gonna happen? I've got to stand at a distance. We put little Marcus here that I'm far enough away, and that's normally. Ideally, it should be a least sort of the meter and meter, half but unfortunate the size of our studios, just not big enough for for me to get the camera far enough away. But those two box lives are trying to illuminate the back. Ideally, you want another life in front, which we do have but having a few issues at the moment. And also potentially, I liked above you. You can fill it with your lighting. It's just this sort of mystery venture. Get good at it. But you said in the previous videos you can sort out most of the problems inside off Final cut pro. So that's the basics off our lighting. Next, we're gonna have a look at some of the sound equipment we are using, right? The next aspect is obviously, is your mike so you can just use your mic on your camera. That's okay, but often you try to get that sort of richer and deeper sound. And obviously you filming outside the As we said you talked about the running course we've made, Sometimes you're filming. We're just going to use, ah, cell phone or whatever, they're OK. But if you recording and student is now is to try and get a bit of Mike, so we are using has, um, h five really great little mike that's quite affordable. You could easy transport it. We scouted on on a boom Poulter moments so that we can try and get it to pick up what I'm standing out here, you'll notice the difference. So this is not me talking on the camera, mark, so you'll hear what it sounds like. I'm talking on the camera mark as compared to what we switch. And now I'm talking and we're using The zoom bike is the primary input and you'll see the difference. And so those are the sort of thing that at their professional touch, so that is as Umh five Mike. So in addition to the zoo five mark, which we showed you, we also make view solve our Linds Harper Mike, This one sits on top of the camera. It's a nice directional mike, which is really going to pick you, especially when we are a distance, so we don't want to use ah lapel mic on shots. So that's another one. So we can obviously have many mikes as you want, and we're gonna look at another video how you can use all of these marks in multi cam shots and bring them all together. So that is our mike set up just to show the view from my side. So what I'm seeing is there in the distance, you see the camera, but in front of the camera. You'll see we've actually set up a laptop and on the laps off my prompt. So those are the slides that sometimes we're gonna have the course, and I always go in the course. But that allows me to see what's going on so that I can speak and looks like I know what I'm talking about, so it doesn't quite important to try and position that. So I tried a position that so It's roughly the same height as the camera. You can get fancy little things that you can attach your camera that are going to give you that sort of professional prompt up thing. So if you want professional prompting, you can attach them to iPads on. All sorts of really fancy gear are found. You can really get away with just a laptop or just your iPad and stick it on a box of what if you need to, it's going to make it work. So that's how we try and make it appear that I know what I'm talking about, and you can remember what you're talking about without having to look away. Look down at notes 34. Recap and Do: so time for a little bit of a recap of what we've done and then over to you to do so. We've been looking in the six yl things that need special effects. Do with chroma keying your green screen effect. You can do some quite fancy things. We looked at how you film in the green screen and then using a mosque and keying you, remove the green screen and then you could basically drop it. Anything you like, like a video. As you can see here, we also even knocked its basis. We can go and get free videos and put the men. We also looked at how you can make a little bit more realistic by adding transitions as you switch between videos. And also then, if you wanted to add some sound, you could add some sound that would your little birds as we are in the mountains and another transition as we transition across. So that is some of the basic that we're looking at around the green screen. We then also assured that how you could also use it quite effectively. When you want to have your slides that are being shown, they're all than just having a boring slide up on the screen. Or you just as a little statement on the side of the slide, we showed that you can put yourself into the slide, which makes it much more visual, and it makes draws your your viewer in. So we looked at again how green screening can be used quite effectively. Yeah, now what are these? Get quite involved. And there is a lot that has to be done on the right. Inside, you can see ALS, the different effects and the mask did everything and had to be put in place. So he's also showed you how you can then save all of these effects. So there's an option to simply save your fix as a preset, and that means you can apply these affects quite quickly, so that also helps. We had a quick look at how we actually do our screen capturing and some of the tools that we use. And then we also took your level of a tour around our studio, a small little study studio, which anyone can sit up in any room. It's not that difficult is to get some large, get your green screen sit up, and what is important is to try and get some decent microphones That does help a lot. But the end of the day, this course is primarily about final cut pro. You can spend a fortune on all the equipment, but really, even with minimal equipment, you can achieve amazing things with the editing in Final Cut Pro. And that's really where your skills come to bear and study maturity as you get more and MAWR tools and technologies, you can do things better and better, so it's over to you. The options are endless. We talking Steven Spielberg top thing. We talking whatever you want to do, why don't you get out the great something really interesting. We'd love to see it if you've got it and you want to share it. Updated YouTube. She had the link with us. Would love to have a look at it. If you've got any questions or how to do certain things, please shut out to us and we'll try and help you. So this is really exciting part. These things are a little bit more advanced. We did say it does take a lot of time. It's addicting It's finicky stuff and you've seen him and we actually try to bring you through some of it a little bit of detail. And I hope you have the patience to go through it because you want to show you This does take time when you really want to try and get this right. But you put in the time you can make really effective video presentations using final cut pro and allow the king in green scheme. If it so have fun, gotta do it over to you to show us what you can do. 35. Multi cam intro: welcome to our final cut pro lesson. This lesson. We are going to start to look at Notre cams a little bit more advanced now, obviously have been in quite a few advance things and some of the other lessons. But this is advance in the sense that not only do you need to start to bring multiple things together, it's relying on you. Having multiple sources said Multi can basically means you've got, as you can see there. We've got multiple audio sources really using our lens hopper and a zoom H five bike. Plus, we've got two cameras that were shooting with you. So there's one camera down the bottom here and now you'll see it switching to another cameras, depending on which camera. So this is multi cam not getting on this all synchronized switching from one camera scene to another camera scene, also deciding which Mike is the one that is now being used. Depending on which camera we're using, that could get quite involved. And so that is the content of multi cam. And but it does give you that professional look, especially when you got like, a talking head situation. You want to switch away, and now I have the audience. So to make it more interesting before you, then go back to the speaker again, or whatever it is so that you want to look seamless, and that's what you often see in sort of television productions. So that's multi cam. We want to have a look at how you do that, how you exit it up, how you synchronised audio video, etcetera and make it appear all professional. So that's the plan for this part off Alphonse Kaprow course. 36. Sync clips: welcome to our section and lesson where we're gonna be looking at, not a cama fix. So we're going to be looking at some of the Morvan seems where you can bring in all sorts of cameras and things. So if you see at the bottom, here we are have just started a project called in all the camps, Got nothing into the mode. And we have got two audio sources are zooming Alan Topper and we got two cameras. A good idea when you're filming and getting your content that you didn't label them properly so that you know what is going on as you can become quite confused. So we want to show you just to start with is something that even if you aren't using multiple cameras, you may be using a camera and another mark so you might have a camera and external mike. We spoke about this in another lesson. If you've got an external markets, didn't do it gonna be far better than the quality of the sound that is on the camera. The trick is, how do you get the two to synchronize? Very simple, Or do you have to do? Is that have to showing you click and hold on command. Select both of them. Then right click and Jews synchronized clips. It's gonna ask you for a name. It's just assuming it's taking the camera name in calling a synchronous clip. You can change it if you wish. They are some custom settings that you can fiddle with. There's not work working well by default. What it's doing, its using audio for synchronization. It's basically assuming okay, the audio is going to be the common source the one has only ever seen. Audio clip. But even video that's normally what you want to try and uses your audio physic organization . You can play with these if you want to keep them as they all hit. Okay, it now synchronizes the clips and you'll notice. Now I have another media option down the bottom here, which is my new synchronized clip. Now what we want to do is go and have a look at it, so to have a look at it, you right, click and choose open clip, and now it brings up what that clip looks like, and we can try and see how well it's worked. Now I don't want the camera audio playing, so I can quite simply just go here and drag it down to zero. So we're only gonna have the lens hoppers audio playing and now I can try and watch and see if it's actually synchronized. Interesting to see there was quite a common straight justice. A bit of a hardy you world. How do you do what you're doing, right? That seems to be absolutely perfect. So I can see it is synchronized if for some reason it isn't Obviously what you can do is you can keep that What up a swell and zoom in if you need to And try and see OK, exactly. Can I get them spot on? Can't get the peaks and you can obviously move the the audio's up and down So the I've got Mike two clips synchronized. I can also put out any extraneous things was Obviously this thing's going longer than the clips. I could just get that. All right, So Okay, that's perfect. I know I have my clip just like I wanted. So I've got that clip ready. I could now go back to my project that I'm not going to start off. And so, instead of pulling in the things separately, did it pulling in camera I separately, I'm putting in this new synchronized one as the media I'm going to be using in this project . And so this one will be ready to roll as my synchronized clip in my project. And so hopefully everything will be just fancy and perfect. So this point, it's quite simple. We've just done a simple synchronization and using the audio on both the camera and the mic to synchronize use in the synchronization technique. 37. Multi cam : we're looking at a multi cam. In previous video, we looked at how you can synchronize a single camera with a separate order additional audio source using the synchronization option. But now it can't get a little bit more involved in it. And what happens if you wanna have multiple cameras? Were you cutting away from one Cameron to the other? Plus the audio? Well, now we're getting to the next level. So we're gonna have a look at how you can now start to do that Multi cam top effect. Okay, So, official in the beginning with example of this motor can flip, we saw that there was, like, one clip off just basically zoomed out and in one close him done. And maybe because in this course that we're doing here, there was many people that were talking. And then while as you see with that camera, A would always focus just on her speaking and the camera B would move along to her speaking and other people speaking their camera B is often also record rather averted your B roll. It's quite clever to have be raw footage because if, for example, the main camera, something happens and so that the speak out of falls off the edge or something or or it's camera shakes. You've always got to be role to fill in. The thing that holds it all together is your audio track. So you audio track carries ongoing. So, in fact, sometimes the B roll you see the person smiling, but that may not have been taken at the exact same time when the A role was taken. So your B roll is really there to try and fill in. Both keep you interested, maybe show you the audience, but it a Corsican cover up stakes as well. Yeah, so, as you see, we have got to marks the one market using for when before the main speaker. When they talking and the second for the zoo Mac is went like the audiences. It's asking questions and stuff like that. So now we want to look at how to combine or of these together. So you may think, Okay, let me just synchronized that. Okay? So if we had to go with selecting all of these clips Lapidus and making you single nice club as you know it's going to make it into one solid club on your timeline, so we won't really be able to choose between the cliffs archly. If we have opened that, we can do that. But there is a much better way to do this and write buff this new multi camp clip. So if we took on that you're seeing, so that's going to a similar sort of thing. But it's gonna keep all the clips together, and you're gonna think about a work on them in your actual project rather than them being credit is a composite clip. Okay, so now if you double click on that, you see it's giving you wall of the clips on top of each other and your see that right now we're only listening to this clip, so it's basically if you want to work like this, which is which, Basically, if you cook the low TV icon, I'll show you for only from that club. If you cook this sound icon and that TV icon, I'm sure you from voices, these two clubs. But if you would rather you know, working a mawr environment where you can listen to all of them at the same time, see all of them without using that love TV thing. Just grab with your mouse along all of this whole down and select every single one of these clubs. Okay, then head command X and you see or of them just vanish. And if you want, you can even delete your motor camp and you can see a spring board us back to the multi cam a project, and I won repast when you paste there. Then it's perfectly aligned all of those cups for us. So now we can play rather than they're all sitting in that one combined thing where you've got to keep going in there it in and in trying to bring the final thing back into your actual project. So what we're suggesting is slightly clever away is to actually just use the multi cam to create it and then copy it into your project. Once it's all synchronizing in the right places. Now you can start playing with it. Okay, so now I can see that we have four different things incomparable and or really, we also a sinker NASA. What I would suggest is you turn off both of your cameras and normally only have one of these marks rolling like we normally have the Lin topper rolling because the zoo mark, We just have your see when lack, for example, we listening to these people talk We have this You mark on top there. So now if we would like to eso have dropped the volume on all of our cameras because those on the proper ones and we're gonna pull down the zoo mark until we need it. Okay, So now much. Now we can blade this and they say off, we want to have a lucky can. Sardar. Lucky of use. It would have. That's for low, but and then we're blade, and then we would have a bit of a closer. So remember, don't just delete shift delete so it doesn't. So everything stays in place now of you wash very much. This is a labor of love. You see, we haven't no, but more off the interesting shot. Um, with close up. No, we'll see. You know, when these other people are talking, we're gonna have to switch cameras and we also need to switch marked so lack of a gay. Yeah, for example. Wait till way getting focused and wait for the next person to start talking about the so it doesn't really matter too much. Someone is not talking. And rather, as you can see, we're gonna just have her listening for a while. And then when the camera B is ready, And as you see, this clip is great out that, as you know, we said if you had V that we'll just able to. And if you had it again, way have no us ever find into the next person that speaking. And if we had someone speaking this table, for example, it's just that and we can bring this back of it. Yeah, so, no, you can wait to someone else is talking at this table here. Se, I think you better told me. So now we're going to see Mark needed switch mock CIA. All right? Yes. It's a bit quiet now to here. So we are gonna not such a Christian other Mike say also with the cameras, we're gonna have to Yeah, so we can easily just go down to the bottom and yeah, where she starts talking, we can bring in this. You don't even have to completely switch this one Often. You don't want to a well, because unless you get about a perfect because these marks, we're pretty far apart. It may not even notice it. No, in here must be there. Okay, so let me do one more those just so you can know for sure. Now how we do do this motor camp. So let's go to another section here. So, as you know, the nice, easy way By getting the on your keyboard, you can simply instead of deleting it, we can now see way Want to see what's happening on camera to? Basically we haven't removed that clip. But once we've discovered where on camera to be once we can't stop, we can bring the clip back and we com'on blade it. Yes, and I'll lay because we're gonna mark the section that we want out. Now we can bring back this camera and we can decide. Okay. How long are we gonna go on camera? Too late. It's right. Bring it back again. Bring it back. And as you know, with the chef to meet Chef Back Spice, remember, you're not Actually, if you just delete the clip, what's gonna happen is the clips are going to join together. And we don't want that because they know God of sink. So you want to just put that little sort of gray spot in the place to remove, Okay? No. We need to find out what at the see stuff smoking about. Yeah. So we'll add the mark from there. Many stop smoking around. Yeah, in case you're not, this Mark is gonna give us much more clarity because I was sitting right above this Now, Okay, no response. It was a You know, that we know we can instantly switch to come will be because camera b was still trying to focus and trying to get to the requisitions. Now you play chicken. You notice now that we have much more smooth, effective, suddenly switching over to again using the multi cam and doing the switch overs, you can also hide any panning and any crazy things. It's quite difficult when you're trying to do for me like this through these multiple people talking. Even with a couple of cameras, you're having to quickly focus zoom pan so you can hide that by keeping it on the on the speaker and then switching. So you said before we've even have. When you have errors on it hasn't actually quite worked out so well. Often take B roll. That's just anything it could be. In this case, it could be the scenery in the background. It could be someone smiling, laughing. And you? We put all of that is B roll. And as long as they're not speaking there just watching, smiling, etcetera, there could be put in at any stage when something isn't right. Yeah, so this is differently if you want Teoh, get an US American asked for my position, and you want to cameras and black. We made this mistake before when we just started using multi cams. You take ages trying to synchronize up each of these audios, even if you're using one camp in one mark, it can take you so long because there's lots of reasons that the mark and camera I don't start and end at the same time. Sometimes a mark. It is a little bit foster, so it's slowly starts getting off and you'll notice that very quickly. And what this multi camp will instantly make sure that the audio from the mark and the camera is at the same spot just point. This is really important. Just if you happen to just drag your audio in and text it to your video, and it looks like it's a line at the start, doesn't necessarily mean it will be aligned at the end, Asi said. You do end up with the mikes from the different cups of cameras and sources, somehow processing at a different speed. And so all of the sudden as you get to the end, you realize they're out of sync, and that is so confusing. You know me. I remember we had a yet they re time the clips as we should. Yeah, yeah, could custom and could tell a restoration, so that would be one tough to do it. Or you could go to the end and just play it by ear. But this is much more effective, so it's a great way to save you lots of time, right? So that's multi cam creates great sort of affects that you could easily get that professional look on your videos. You can bring in your your audio is when you need it right way off, making really powerful ready professional final cut pro videos using the multi cam feature 38. Clones: Hi, It's Craig and just you here and we look in final cut pro. And in this episode, it's the rise of the Clones. So let's have some fun and look at some really cool. We look in advance features. We looked at some fun advanced features already. Well, let's push it a little bit and show you how you can be the next Steven Spielberg. As you start to criticism, special effects. Let's look at cloning. So if you gotta try for or any like a camera, you can put in a store spot. So we got all of these videos of basically taken from one vantage point. So is to set up a tripod, and we've got a number of scenes. You put that one and you see that one. You put them all basically on top of each other. So this one, that one too, basically got three shots. So if we pray through it, what do you control owned Adel's? Double the audio? We don't need that. It's gonna be contributing. So if we go, yeah, I concede this. Wanna some walking? You'll notice you can't see the other ones that says we were doing before masking comes in handy for this kind of stuff because if you look again see where you walk So if we way, we can t he stops this that we put up. Um, we set out mouse market there and we go to the mosque in effect, and we put it in here. So we basically know he's gonna come from about their and it's gonna end this if we at a little don't. I don't no citizen. Basically his part in our play. See, we can instantly see the other one that's on top of this and 1/2 ago. Here there are emerging emerging coming up out of the jungle. Wow, the heat, Hosea. Weaken adjusted. But you can see it gets a little chopped off their Don't lose my head. You can do it. Indiana Jones style. Hey. Okay, so we got one more area at the bottom there. If we click down here, we can see it's not showing it. That's because this one, also after drum are so if we look at this, this other crap against it walks on the of the There was nothing there. Put another mosque on this one. He took on it did it. Okay, so we add from the little dot the the the we're going to stop there. This one comes in. But this is where the difficulty of cloning comes in because you can see he's been chopped off the nation losing some of my colleagues there. Yeah, I said, if we go from yeah, number one. And actually, we can move this. Claire layers go to go higher. You were gonna thes ones at the bottom. This is where they're ordering. The laser is important because we never layers on the top. Which of, ah, media source of videos on the top is the one that's gonna be in the foreground. Okay, way. See, this is coming. We can see now. We got this one on the top. All of our other ones disappear because, yeah, but this one is hasn't been masked. So we put the sun, we just wait. You can see what party is gonna take. He's going there. It's gonna end this. Okay, so now we kind of know where it's coming from. So if you put one day one there, load dots all around, we don't chop any other off. That you put it like that Now I can see all of our are things also what we're gonna wanted Teoh because of ah, we thought this one at the bottom Now because it's at the bottom, it doesn't need to have any mosque settle because we wanted to be the background. So if we take that off, I can see. Now we have We've got ah, blow about guys coming. Yeah, and they spent years and science trying to clone people. And here we are. The three of me appears a quickie. I'm not listening to the other guy. Oh, man. Yeah. So if you want to do something fun that this is where mosque and comes in handy, you can because he's using a little bit of his hand as he goes, Bother stock disappear. You can even make disappear in their own right. So look good. That not is only two of them. And they all started. All of the poor guys will by himself. I mean, yeah, so that's masking. So you can see we did touch on that in a previous video and you can have a lot of fun. This is where final cut pro is so powerful it's in its ability to really take multiple clips to start filling with the multiple clips. Teoh doing green or blue screening defects. Teoh cloning To do what if you like, so you can really do some fun things, especially if you've got a tripod and you're getting a little bit off stability and your shots, which is what we did here. You can have some fun, so there we go. Final cut pro, something more advanced features. Get out there with your camera, do some shots, get it into final cut pro and see you what you look like as a clone. There's no need for you to be alone. 39. Final Cut X Stabilisation: It's great. And Joshua Final cut pro al video Siris on how to use final cut pro like an expert from beginner to Stevensville back. So when this particular video, we want to look at something that you could do when your video quality is not quite what it should be, we've looked at in a previous studio how you can help both the sound. We looked at the audio effects and how you can play with multiple audio effects if you need to. You need to up the audio, etcetera. But sometimes the video is just. It looks like you had being jumping on a trampoline when you were doing it, or you have been having too much to drink. Why don't know what you were doing, but it's all over the place. You went on a tripod, and you need to try a little bit stability to it. So let's see what you can do about that. Okay, so, of course, what's fancy cameras and fancy? You have the stabilization mounted, get pretty camera. Okay, so if you are just making videos for yourself or if you making videos for your YouTube channel, whatever you might be doing courses on you are forming and is looking but shaky we've got If you click on new video, we've got these affects. And if you go down to the very bottom, your notice specific could stabilization remember? Just be careful. You must be on the video. One remembers, we see it sometimes you could be on something and you you could be on audio. So make sure you have video selected. If you don't see stabilization on, then go to the bottom where you will see it. Okay, so when you could this button, it could take a while. Depending on how Foster computer is, it will analyze your video you've taken, and it will Assisi appear. This is where or your task. It handle your rendering all of that kind of stuff. As you can see, it's busy stabilising. What it's trying to do is trying to figure out which way will you mean to be leaving. So doesn't mean you can't be moving. So maybe you were trying to pan from left to right, but you're panning up and down to realize is that this is actually a horizontal pan and all those vertical motions are actually not what it should be. So that's essentially what it's trying to do here. What says just mentioned if he thinks taking a while and if you exporting your video, what have you doing? Always take a look up here that indicates what's busy going on at the moment. So it tells you that these there's something happening. You busy transferring you busy exporting, you busy stabilising. So that's what we're doing now. So let's sit and watch this while for the next 25 seconds. Be boring me. Watch it stabilized. As you can see, this is taking quite a long while. But what? We're gonna show you later? You see, this is incredibly going to speed up. We have got the ability to do that. We're gonna show you how to do that later. Right? Done. There we go. It's just doing the final rendering is you'll see at the bottom there, on in a few moments, we should be ready to see what it is done. Okay. One thing you won't notice you're rendering reports as soon as you lack are looking at your video. So now your video, if you wondering what it actually is doing, its making sure that you're watching it. Maris's The frames are smooth. If it's not rendered, it means it's gonna be a bit jumpy, like in some cases, if you videos good quality or you computers not so fast, so always. Just don't touch the time. Patience. And then when it's all finished, you'll see at the top there notice the little tick, you know, like ticks and fleas. Yeah, when you see a tickle is good, you're ready to roll. Okay, so if we re watch this one that we stabilize, you can see, depending on how the frame rate your according like that, as if you're recording the video in slow motion or a few camera and your chords and like 10 frames a second, you will notice this distortion lack when he's moving like you see, because that's tryingto automatically stabilize it and you will see Exum's and quite a bit , because depending on how much you use you removing it, black zooms and say we also with all of the other options, you have the option to correct your stabilization so we can make it not so much like to see if we zoom that out now we can see. It won't be as smooth, but it will be a world look a bit more natural. So if you don't want so much stabilization, just make sure you do have a level of stabilisation. Because, remember, automatic stabilisation can't be everything for you. It's not an absolute miracle. What it essentially is doing is it's trying to see which frames are out and where they jumping. And it's trying to drop some of those frames and zoom in to try and reduce it or change the effect that it's make it look a little bit more stable so it can actually do in terms of physically changing it. But it can try and create an illusion of stability. Okay, I'll show you some more examples off before it off with a stabilization. So we've got this Doug running down now if we go back, depending on how long the Clippers can take Wicca or longer. So if you are stabilizing a clip first crop it, then stabilize it. Because if it yeah, but you're wasting times trying to get it to analyze our long, long clips. Get your blade out, chopper to the size you ones and then get it's Oscar to stabilize. Okay, all you can see how much quicker it's learning now. Um, the club. Now you can see if we go into menus. It's just busy finishing up now. Okay, so we consider it's done. Now this is the after of dog running down the home can see I didn't may have quite a bit. That's what is a bit confused. But if I grab something more a little bit more smooth with the way I wasn't running with the dog, you can see it was just fun. A clip seat, this one. We're also doing a panning shot, but you can see our storm moving. Quite a bit luck. You play it and see it is still quite a bit of movement wobble going on there. Yeah, so also, what are saying is like cropping the picky one, like by using blade. And this will save a lot of time of your computer not having to analyze everything. So let's see where I should start it. We're start me things about the on, um, end it about the and also a few of camera does have the option to like recording a high frame rate to, say 120 friends second with HD. Sometimes it might lower your quality of your video. Then you know, if you know your body is gonna be shaky, know that you should be recording like more friends. That means when you do, you use a stabilization effect. It will look like completely natural, like you're using a tripod or oh, a stabilizer. Okay, so now this one's done, you can see it's a bit so you can see that sort of up and down motion is now gone. So now we've got, like, a relatively smooth pan just going horizontally. Yeah. So, depending on how much you're moving, you can Moran, depending. How many frames is sick in your camera is recording at that's going to give you your stabilization and hung last your shorts gonna look like See, you can see what stabilization opinion, how much in move your camera is gonna be the mounted zooms and because you can see this one zoomed in a locked black because I moved the camera quell a lot. So, like if I go to the stabilization and take way, some of it you can see how much it has actually zoomed in luck with this one. If I take away those fix, it's barely zoomed in at all because I wasn't shaking that much. Okay, so you see it. It can only do so much. But again, after the fact you can stall, edit your videos and make them appear a lot more provisional. So that is a video image stabilization. If you need to do that, it's something that is very handy. No, and give it a try. Go and take some tricky video and see how final cut pro can improve your video. 40. Recap and Do: so in this section will be looking at multi cam and using multi pulled media sources. Whether it is multiple videos, sources, multiple audio sources or combination is we've got to Mike's two cameras. So we looked at how you could take a camera and a mike and very simply synchronized clips. By doing that, it will automatically match based on the order of both clips, and we'll put them together for you, and you can then tweak it if you need. We also then looked at something a bit more involved where you could take two cameras. You could take two mikes and you create a new multi cam cup. We looked at how you can in generate this clip and how you could copy that once you have generated their new clip and bring it into your project and once a new project. Obviously, we then looked at how you can now start to jump around between the different cameras from camera A, then going across the camera B and at the same time, also lower down. You would be able to see the sound as we switched from one sound device from our zoom to Arlen Topper and a zoom again so we could use whichever was the most appropriate sound source. So very simple once you understand about attacks little bit getting used to. But once you get used to multiply and once you get used to synchronizing, these are things that really can save you time. We talked about this before the whole concept off video editing Videography is a quite a time intensive endeavor, but they always you can save time. We even looked, take and save presets. This is another great way of trying to make things a lot quicker. And this is really true when you get onto big projects. When you're on projects which have got hundreds of videos, it can become extremely complex, and part of that challenge horses to be very careful with your labelling. As you see, we use camera and be also the numbering that you're using, the section numbering your numbering oil off your audio files. Everything ultimately needs to somehow get connected together. So you know which media sources belong together so you can get quite involved, so you need to be quite organized. But final cut pro goes a long way to helping you get things done quickly, so that is multi cam and synchronizing clips, a very powerful tool and techniques available inside of final cut pro.
