About This Class

Draw fun faces using simple shapes that will inspire a library of characters for future projects.

Explore character using the kite, heart, rectangle, oval, round, square, teardrop, heptagon and oblong shapes. See how some shapes are more successful than others when trying to depict a specific age, gender or personality type for your character.

Use this class to:-

  • experiment and 'play' with your own style of drawing faces using shape as your inspiration
  • give you the confidence and try new ways of drawing faces
  • create a new set of faces to add to your portfolio of character ideas

With more than a dozen picture books published world-wide my character development series teaches every aspect of character design. Whether you’re thinking about self-publishing, designing a one off character for a project or illustrating a publication. Work your way up through all of my classes for support, inspiration and to up-skill or re-fresh your illustration style.

See you in class J

This class is a lot of fun! I really enjoyed learning about and practicing drawing the different face shapes.
This class was perfect! I've been struggling with faces for awhile and this was the perfect explanation I needed. Using the different shapes really helped me see how I can create so many different faces in my work.
