About This Class
Draw fun faces using simple shapes that will inspire a library of characters for future projects.
Explore character using the kite, heart, rectangle, oval, round, square, teardrop, heptagon and oblong shapes. See how some shapes are more successful than others when trying to depict a specific age, gender or personality type for your character.
Use this class to:-
- experiment and 'play' with your own style of drawing faces using shape as your inspiration
- give you the confidence and try new ways of drawing faces
- create a new set of faces to add to your portfolio of character ideas

Nina makes drawing faces so fun and simple. The bite sized videos makes it really manageable for me. Me and my kids are all enjoying seeing my face creations :)
This was so much fun! I love her teaching style and you can literally make an endless amount of characters from this and the eye class. I am looking forward to taking more of her classes.
Hi! I'm Nina Rycroft, a picture book illustrator. I studied and then worked as a graphic designer in Sydney and London before turning my hand to illustration. Since my first publication in 2000, I've had more than a dozen picture books published worldwide. My character-based illustration classes share everything that I’ve learnt over the years illustrating picture books.
So if you're interested in illustration, character development, visual storytelling, learning how to draw with more ease and confidence...and of course, picture book illustration, then follow me!
See you in class :)
