1. Introduction: Hey there! And welcome to the effort Studio acai Fire Controller course. My name is Mona Svensson, and I'm a full time music producer for over 10 years now, and I've been teaching music full time since around five years ago. In this course, I'm going to show you the brand new media controller for Fo studio there Chi Fire Controller, which comes in a very low price and also includes a full version off efforts Studio bundled . This is the only media controller that is made for efforts studio. As of now, it works trade out off the box without any kind of set up or hassle with linking different controls to each other and other stuff like that. In this course, I'm going to cover every single knob and button on this controller, as well as showing you some cool tips and tricks. It's very easy to create different beats and loops as well as slice up some loops and create new sounds from them. The chi fire can also be used as a meaty controller and show some meaty notes that are only active within a scale that you set. So whatever button you press on it it will be in key with the other notes. Okay, guys. So I hope you are excited to get to know this device a little bit better. So see you in the course. 2. Download The Free Version of FL Studio: So before we get started, I want to show you that when you purchase the acai Pro Fire, you will get a free version off effort studio, and it's actually a full version so you can save your project in there. It's not a demo version or anything like that. It's a full version off efforts studio, but it's stripped down a bit, so it lacks some plug ins and some features that comes with a full, full effort studio, basically. So we can still produce music with the fruit of fire addition, and that comes with acai pro fire. And if you go to this website here, you will see the link inside of the description. Off this video, you can now see how to get the free version off ever studio that comes with this media controller. So you want to you have to actually register the device. So yeah, it says that you should launch the browser, go to like a pro Dacom, etcetera, etcetera. So, yeah, it's just richest registered in your products. The purchase dates and you will get a license code. Basically, they can use with a for studio, so you have to create it on account, on image line and so on and so forth. So all of these instructions you need to follow those before creating and thing with that guy firemen controller, if you already have. If a studio and just purchased their controller to use with that edition, you can just skip this video and skip this process. Okay? I so see, in the next one. 3. How To Setup The Fire Controller: Okay, So in this video, I'm going to show you how to set up the fire controller in Efforts studio. So let's go to options here and go to many settings. You can now see, I have the acai efforts Studio fire here if you can't see this able to see it inside of this list here. So if I go to control a type, you can see the acai efforts to your fire, and then you can just select it from here, and it should appear in the list. You can also refresh the vice list. So let's say that you have just connected the efforts to your fire to your computer. You can just refresh the device list and it should appear in the list. Also, don't forget to choose the enable, but in here, because when it's enabled, you're going to. Obviously it's going to work. Without this. It's going to be disabled, so it doesn't work that way. Okay, so as soon as you have it enabled and inside, it's inside of this list here can just close it, and now we can just play along on our fire here and just play and it's working. So that's basically how you set up FL Studio with the fire controller. See you in the next one 4. Overview Of The Fire Controller - Part 1: okay, I saw in this video I'm going to show you an overview off the fire controller. So let's begin here in the bottom section off the right hand side. And this is our transport controls. So here you have the play. You have the stop button and record button. You also have the pattern slash song, which you can basically just switch between pattern mode and song mode. You can see that on the display here as well. So here we have. Ah, our controller enabled for the whole song. And then you have it only for the pattern. And all of these controls are the same ones as in efforts Studio. So when you have the play stop record and Metrodome buttons, you have the same thing here inside of have a studio. You can also see that there's some labels underneath them. Use concealer, Metrodome waits. Count on a loop, Rick, you enable these modes by holding the shift bottom here. So as soon as you hold the shift button, you can just press the buttons here that you want to have the second item here, Open up. So let's say that you want the Metrodome here you just hold, shift and press this button, and this will override the setting off the first menu item here, which is pattern song mode. You can do that with all of these buttons here. And that says and of course, same thing here mute. So if you want to solo have these buttons as so low, they can just hold shift and then press these buttons here, which will make these buttons solo instead off mute. We will cover all of these functions in a later video. But I just want Teoh cover this that if you hold the shift bottom, you will get all of these modes here. That isn't the first. Yeah, First menu item. You will get the second basically. Okay, so the next thing we have here is the old button and the ship, but so the shift button we already covered. But there are two different things you can do with these buttons. So if you hold all button, if I hold off button here and I go to the select dial here, you will see that you can now select the difference items in your patterns. So, um, yeah, if you want to just select. Let's say the clap here, you can hold the off button and you will also see the pattern here and the channel, which we select. You can also see the different channels that are selected on these lead buttons here as well. So you could just scroll around them like that if you go to the shift. But in here I have to go to my Mixer Channel on Efforts studio. Now, if I hold the shift button and go to the style, you can see that I can now select the different mixer channels. So let's say that I want to do something with the Mixer Channel and it's on my 10th mixer channel here. I could just selected like that. And now I can go to the mixer either if I want to do something on the controller here or if I just want to stay that and then continue on efforts Studio on my computer. Okay, so next balance we have here, I'm going to go this way. Now is the step button is the 1st 1 So the step mode, which will be enabled if we press this button here. This is basically just the pattern moan here so I can just select different beats and create different, um, beats and and sounds like this. If I go to the notes mode here now, I can just play different instruments, so this will actually be the same thing as a media keyboard. So if I let's say, go to ah, new plug in ear and a new channel, let's say I go to the fo Keesee just to get a piano. 95 play Here you will hear piano sound so you can see that you don't need even need a media cable. You can just go with this fire controller and you will have everything covered basically so we can do drums. You can also do difference meaty notes like that and just play like that. And then we have the drum ode to the drum Otis Onley covered. If I go and choose a FBC plug in here, So let's choose that and I can see we have a little drum machine on Efforts studio. So now I can play along here with the FTC, basically so you can now do your finger drumming here within the drum mode and the next button behavior is to perform. So this is basically performed mode and I was show that later on when I have a full project , because with this mode you have to have a project with different sounds different clips inside of the project to basically Ah, yeah, make them in this perform mode here. So Ah, this section is now covered. Let's take a look at the next section in this controller. So the next thing we have is the mute a solo button. So I'm going to go back to the steps section here on the steppe mode, and now we have the mute and solo, so it's going to be the same thing as in Efforts Studio. So you can see we have are a kick clap hat and snare. We have them all enabled, so if I just press this button here will see the kick will be muted and so on and so forth . So it's basically just does the same thing. Asked what is inside of efforts studio. So if I play this here and then you can see that I am going to mute these different channels, yes, like that. They're also have solo here. So if I hold the shift button and pressed the these new parents, it will be so load, okay? 5. Overview Of The Fire Controller - Part 2: Okay, so then we have this section here because the channel mixer use a one and user to. So the first thing we're going to cover here is the channel mode. So here is basically that you can see here you all of these four Dial's say that we have you can control them with whatever is enabled on this section. So you for have it on channel mode. You can see that we have the first item menu item in these different dials here. So volume, pan filter and resonance is going to be for the channel mode. So for the channel mode to be enabled, we have to go and choose one channel. So I'm going to do that. But holding Ault and then selecting the different channels. So I want to select the kick drums, and now we have the kick drum selected here, and this is going to be responding to our first selected channel. So now I can just select or adjust the volume pan filter and resonance off this channel here. So let's just solo this channel like that. And now I'm going to play it here so you can hear the difference when I just a just these dials here you can also see on the display here how much of it I adjust. Okay, So the next mode you have here is the mixer mode. So if I press this button here, we're now in the mixer mode. So if I go to the mixer here, I don't have any channels enables. So I'm going to go to the kick drum, and I'm going to basically put it in my mixer there. So I'm going to go back to the mixer and insert 123 and four is going to be our kick clap hat and snare. So I'm going to just rename its here, um, name, color. And I can going to be a kick in, sir, to its are clap. 3rd 1 is our hat, and the 4th 1 is our snare. So now, if ago, if we have the mixture I set up here now we can choose what makes her channel. We want to be affected off these different settings. But now you have the second item here. So it's going to be volume pan Lowy Q and high. Eq you instead off the first menu items that you have here. So yeah, we can also go to shift here and select what makes her channel we want. So yeah, let's just choose the cake for now and play it and just adjust the different settings here . Let's say that we want Teoh take a look at the hat instead instead, in the mixer so I can just go to shift here, go to the hat And now I can not just that I love to use this because most of the time you don't need any little frequencies inside off your hat or snare, for instance. So then I just put some low eq you to it or cut off the low. And basically they could do it very quickly with the fire controller. Then you also have the user one and user to, so you can set up these inside of effort studios so you can have difference items instead of these that are chosen out here within the controller. You can set your own effects that you can have here on the dial's here. Then we have these pattern bottoms here and here you can just select a new pattern or browse around through your existing patterns. So basically, just you know, we have the pattern one here. So if you want to create a second pattern, just press the button down here and now we can create a new pattern. So something like that you can create 1/3 1 So something like that and I can browse around them with these buttons. The next thing we have here is the browser button. So if you go to a browser button, I can now select different items that we have in the browser. So let's say that I want to go to the different files here and here. We have some samples that I like so I can just browse around them like this. I can also press the green button here to just preview that sample. Let's say that I want this sample to be loaded up in a new channel. I can now press the select button here to choose it. Basically, it will open up a menu where you can see there. Teoh. You can just use it exactly like you would do in efforts Studio. You can also load plug ins to go to the plug in database here you can browse around different plug ins like that and, um, yeah, just select whatever you want here. And then we have the less pardons here, which are the great buttons. So the great buttons, you can basically make the grid bigger and smaller so you can whiten up. So if we go to the channel rack here, you can make it bigger and smaller with the's great buttons. So if we disable this browser button, you can now go to great here and make it bigger or smaller. So you can see here that if I press here, I will now have a great offset off 16. And I have to make this. We know a bit bigger to see that. So now we can see what section is selected when I go to this, the's great bottoms here. Okay, So the last thing I want to show you in this video is that I can choose and customize the difference or the appearance off the fire controllers so I can go to all tear and go to the volume denial, and I can now adjust the brightness off the pad. So do something like that and I can also see the pad saturation. So if you want it to be something like this, you can do it as well and go back like that. Okay, I So that s it for this video. See you in the next one. 6. The Tracks and Colors: Okay, so in this video, I'm going to show you. Ah, better overview off the fire controller. So first of all, as you can see on the computer here we have four tracks. First, this cake seconds clap threw his hat and forth a snare. So the first thing you can think of here is that all of the tracks that you can see inside of the project are the same thing. And our sink with the tracks on the fire controller. So you can see we have the first green dot here that is selected and this response to whatever its track have selected insider for studio. So if I change this to the 2nd 1 you can see it jumps on the controller as well because here we can select it. It can also select it from the controller itself. So you have to go to a halt and I can screw rule through the tracks like that. It can also see on this on the display here what channels we are on. So let's say that we have the kick drum here, and we selected it. So now let's say that we have ah color a different color for the kick drum. Let's say it's red now I can see or it's actually kind of pink. They can see that all off. The buttons here are going to be pink as well. Let's they never go to the clap and we have a color for the clap. Let's say it's yellow, something like that. Then we have the hats. Let's sit at the hat iss green and the snare would be, um, orange. So now we can see all of the different colors on the controller as well, just to make some difference here so we can see what the difference are between between the tracks, so something like that. 7. Step Mode: Okay, So in this video, I'm going to cover the step motor off the Chi Phi controller. So here you can see my habit on the step most so this is going to be the same thing as in our channel rack. So it's gonna be the same pattern as well. So I want to just get rid of all of these notes here by just pressing on them like that. And now we have it erased. So if I go to select here, you cannot see that I have. I can select the difference channels so you can have four channels at once selected. So if I create different channels here, let's say that I want to have a lot of different channels. I can just add on random channels like this. Let's say that I have Ah, very, very big project. Yeah, yeah, just create very random plug ins here. Now I can select, as you can see here. I can select four at once like that so it doesn't have to be all your samples like it is here. I can also just created with some that's alias T plug ins or plug ins as well. And then play them in the channel rack exactly the same as I would do inside of her first studio. Then I can also choose the great about us here to make it shorter or smaller. Or actually to just browse around the different sections here that I want to all of these channels here to correspond. So yeah, it's very easy to do so I can do like that, then go down here. So basically, it's like some arrows arrow buttons here. Enough a studio. Okay, so let's play around a bit with step mode here, so I'm going to go up and just play in some beats. So, uh, let's do something about that. So the next thing I want to show you is that you can modify the difference parameters. So let's a volume and pan it, for instance, on each and every single individual elements here. So, ah, if I want to adjust the hyattes, for instance, let's say that I want to high. It's to be I don't want them to be that static sounding, so I want them to have some kind of variation inside them, so I want to basically modify the velocity and if I press one of these notes here and hold it now, I can go to the volume here. You can adjust the velocity off that note so you can see here as well inside of effort Studio that I can now just the velocity. And I can do that with the individual samples here. So and now it will sound more realistic. Yeah, I think that could be too much. So, uh, that's adjusted back a bit. And instead of having to go through each and every single note here to adjust the velocity , I can select multiple notes and just hold them like that. And she was there Velocity as well. So let's say that I want some lower velocity on these ones and those I want to be a bit higher. I can do that as well. I can also choose a different pitch off the individual samples as well. So let's say that I want this ending to be a bit different so I can hold these notes here. And if I go to the select here, you can now see that you will have a piano roll with Yeah, just basically the notes going up and down like this. So let's say that I wanted to be pitched down and I want this note to be pitched down even more now. It gets a very cool ending here somehow that so you can basically just adjust the different notes off the individual samples and you can hold multiple notes. You can. Yeah, so it's very easy to do without it. Let's say that I want to continue this pattern and wanted to be a bit bigger. Smile. I can just adjust the great here and start to playing here as well. So as you can see, this would be extended. So now we can just something else here. Okay, So something else we have here is the accent mode that you can use, which is basically going to create the velocity Overall off, all of the notes that you've going to press is going to be affected off whatever you choose with the accent mode. So if you go to shift and step here now, you can see accent motors on so I can just go to this dial here and can see the default velocity is going to be set. So let's say that we go into said are very, very small velocity here so I can do it like that. And now all of these notes here going to be a bit lighter than these notes that we had here so you can see what velocity will have on each and every note. So these notes are going to be the maximum velocity that we had before. And this is going to be having just the small velocity that we set. And now with the accent mode here. So if I want to go back to the high velocity now, I can just do it like that and it's going to be set on the high velocity so that it is a very good to do if you're going to create a lot off notes and you want some of the notes to be in a small velocity and that some knows to be in high velocity instead of just pressing each and every note or multiple nose like that and adjusting them like that. So if I just, um, raised these notes here and I want let's say I want all of these notes to be in high velocity now, I can just adjust it to smaller velocity and choose these notes like that. And then we can exit out off the accent mode just by going shift accent in your sea axe and motives off on the display there. So now we have each and every note here eyes going to be high velocity, low velocity and so on, so forth. 8. Note Mode: Okay, So in this video, we're going to go through the note motor on their chi fire. So let's press the note, but in here And I can see we get all of these different colors here on the on the car here . And this is now it's basically a meaty keyboard. So here is the root notes and then we're having notes. So this is going to be first the first active they have the second Artim this basically the same thing as this notes. They're going up. One octave up is basically the same note as this one and then we having the fourth octave like that. So you have four octaves when you're doing this. Then you have to go to the grid. Here. You can now see that you're going octave up and down with these great balance. Here you can also choose different route notes. So, as you can see here, this is a C one. And if I want to change the route notes, I have to go to shift. And now great here. So American see different route notes like that's if you go impress select here. You can now choose difference modes here so you can create minor chords, main major chords and so on and so forth, so this is very cool to use. So let's say that I want some major chords here, and I want the major chord to be in the root note off. Let's say a two or a three like that. So now I can play the different notes and you can. Everything here is going to sound within the scale, so it's going to sound good. You can also switch, of course, the different layout. So let's say that I want some minor chords here, and, uh, I would want to have them in sea. Now you can see that the courts are a bit different again. See, there's different colors here as well. So it basically means that you can play. The different court is going to be sounding the best when you play that color only with each other. So, um yes. So let's say that I want we want to pray. Play the orange notes here. They sound great together, and all of the different white notes sound great together, and also all of the green notes sound great together. That is a very nice way to create different cords to create melodies as well. So you can just go in, create cords with the green notes, and then with the white noise you can. You can just play different melodies on top of that, so it's very cool to use that for your corporations and your mellitus as well. 9. Drum Mode: Okay, so let's take a look at the drum mode. So the drum odor is basically used for the F. P. C. Plug in that we have on our computer here. So you can basically choose different different loops and different packs. Or you can import your own samples to all of these different areas here that you can play along with this device so you can just basically press like this. It's like a drum machine. You have your pads here. You can choose different paths here as well. So if you have a second pad that this will be enabled as your second pad, and you can choose that on the F B C on the computer. You can also go here to select, and you can select to have it on their center instead. So if you wanted to be here instead, he can choose that layout. You can also go to the layout select, which is sliced sex on. You can also go to the Omni Channel, which will show all of the different sounds that you have in your project. So this is basically one sound of each and every sound off the project, so all of the channels are going to be here. But, yeah, the best thing to do here is to basically have it on the left or on the center and then just play along here and it's going to be the same thing with a difference. Things that we did in the step mode. It's the same principle here as well. You can record it, play it. You can do whatever you want here as well. So it's a very cool thing to use, So that's the drum mode off the K fire. 10. Slicex Mode: Okay, So in this video, I'm going to demonstrate the slice exploded that you can use with the fire controller. So if you're at the step mode, just go to drum mode here and now we can select by pressing here. And, um, you can select it by just going through these different modes. Here. The layout select and just go to the slice. Six. So when when you're at the slice. Six. You just go and create a new track here. I'm going to create a slice extract. So let's go like that. And now I'm going to go back. Teoh just selecting different drum loops or different loops. So here I have ah, guitar loop that I want Teoh import to slice X. You can actually import whatever you want. You can import drum moves. You can import different. Let's see guitar loops or melodic loops as well. You can basically drop whatever you want here. It's cool to play around with the vocals as well. So let's say that I want to import this guitar, Lou appeared. You can just drag it in like that to slice X, and now slice six is going to slides. The different samples here for us. And now it's automatically a sign here to this these buttons here. So now I can just play along, and the loop is basically just guitars playing all of the time. But with slides extra Kintz slides up the different samples, and it's doing and for you automatically. You can also go into the plug in here and at try different surprising methods as well. But it's very cool to have it all assigned for you on the ah Chi fire here, and you're going to have a lot of fun. I think with this kind off method, you can just try out different new hooks, new melodies as well. And I really love the method with still Isaacs and with this media controller. Okay, so see you in the next one. 11. Visualizer Mode: Okay, so I'm going to show you something else here. I'm going to go to a step mode here, and we can do some media ring on the sky fire here. So if we first go to a computer here, a right click this spectrum here and choose spectrum and now you can see if we play something here, you can see our Spectra Graham here and now we can choose the same thing here, so it's going to be as a visualize. Er So if you go to Ault and just go to this filter here, we can now see we can choose Peaks writes Peaks left or just spectral I'm like that. So let's play the track now. So this is actually a frequency spectrum. So this is the high frequencies, and these are the low frequencies, So it's very cool toe Have that. And as I said before, you can also go and shoes peaks left or picks right, which will show you the peaks to the left, from or from the left to the right, and so on so forth. You can also said this display here to show peaks as well. So if we go to Ault and turn. This here can see that you're going to get the peak level. So there's the different visual Isar modes in a K fire. Let's see when the next one.
