1. Join the Class!: Hello, and you'll get a maximum. And I am YouTuber and independent filmmaker based in Russia with the idea of workable alike, but not today. Today I will speak about editing you two videos in Adobe Premier Pro. I have worked in Adobe Premier Pro for my last eight years and I made, I don't know, maybe around 1 thousand video and most of them we owe for YouTube. In this class, I'll show you my whole process of making this type of videos into one main ideas that I want to show you is how to edit fast and efficient. You know, time is money and we need to use it carefully and with maximum profit. During this course, I'll speak about these topics. First one, Some advice is for you creators why folder structure is one of the key too fast editing, how Premiere Pro works and which window we will use at 100%. Then I'll show you how to edit a row B-roll, how to use keyframing and make your own presets. How to record audio straight into Premier Pro, how to color grade, mix your audio. And final lesson about exploiting your final video. This class is perfect for those who only installed Adobe Premier Pro entered. Don't know how this program works. I know it's complicated, but it's not complicated. Cool already make video in Premier Pro, but spend so much time for figuring out how this specific tool works and who want to improve editing workflow, making things faster than usual. I hope you like it. And first, things that they want to speak about before we jump into our editing is about sharing your work, sharing your creative passion. Feel free to speak about different things that you really like because well, I have a struggle when I remembered myself 5678 years ago when I hit YouTube channel, but I want to speak about it. I felt YouTube channel in Russian language, but I didn't succeed at all. I think one of the main reason is I wasn't self-confident about this creative stuff. I think is that all my videos is like garbage boring, curb bullshit, and I can't even talk about it with someone. So I just tried to hide myself and tried to separate myself from my YouTube videos. Youtube for staff, authors, YouTube stuff. I think this was a really bad mindset and certainly strange mindset. And it was a terrible mistake because again, I spent seven years making YouTube videos in Russian, but I didn't succeed 70 years, almost eight years. My idea is really simple. Feel free about sharing your project. Feel free about sharing your words and speak with other creators about your work. I can guarantee you, is it your first video probably will be not good. They will be probably really boring with a lot of different problems. And you need to accept this because it's okay to make a lot of different mistakes because, well, you learn a new skill. You are trying to shoot yourself to speak different thoughts, write down your scripts to edit your videos. And it's a lot of different skills that you need to combine in yourself or you need to spend a lot of money to hire an editor to making this video. Well, I don't think that this is your way. I kindly ask you to not making the same mistake that I did and please feel free to share your works, develop your skills, make a bad videos. At the beginning, it's completely normal way to improve or go to improving yourself. And I need to improve my English language speaking of different stuff. So right now we are ready to open our computers and speak about for destruction. First of all, first thing that we need to do before opening Adobe Premier Pro. So let's move to another less than yes. Why not? I hope this little piece of motivation will help you during your learning and editing process. So let's move to another lesson. Let's go. 3. Folder Structure of Your Edit: Before jumping into our edit, we need to do a lot of things. But first one is organizing our files. I use a really simple folder structure when I'm shooting F simple video without additional cameras, a lot of locations. Just for example, this talking head with recording screen and with external mic, I have a different folders and folders with my projects. A US projects holder. For example, if you project one year ago, you can just open this project folder and you can not worry about locating specific files. For example, if you need video, you're just finding video folder and says, Oh, it's so easy to use and you won't be in the situation when you have to edit on different BC and you will edit with the missing files. It's so annoying stuff. And you, you can have wedges using this folder structure. So I put our desk in this folder. So for example, Order some of audio WAV files enter material from this camera. This is a really simple structure for really simple videos. If I have more complicated shooting, I use additional layer to Zeus folder structure. For example, I have free days of shooting and I just make additional folder called B1. For example, frozen lake. Frozen lake. I don't know why I like these because I haven't see frozen lake and male Hawaii. But and put all this material ends is they want folder. And for example, if we have this canon goldberg footage, some drone footage from a GI Marek pero, we will make additional folders for each camera. For example, cannon. Yes. Go abroad. And our Malik. Yeah, that's all. It's so easy to do. It's so easy to organize this file with this method. So it was pretty easy. And we right now can open our Premier Pro and make our new project. 4. Interface of Premiere: We open our premier abroad and we can make any new project, just hit a button. And Maine new project, for example, it will be addressed and which is location for our project. And also I made a specific folder called Project and we will keep all project files for Premier Pro. In. Premier Pro make a lot of different and unusable folders for you and files for you who have breast. Okay, and open our main window of Premier Pro. And we need to adjust this layout, this workspace for us. We can use different pre-installed workspace for different, as for example, for calibrating for effect, for our audio mission, for aiding graphics, we can use this installed workspace and make our own workspaces for our purposes, for our tasks, let's make one for YouTube editing. First one, we need to just a throwaway different windows that we won't use. We can just close the media browser library's info. History. I don't know who uses it. Also throwaway AudioClip mixture and metadata end. We need to open one specific window called Audio Track Mixer. All windows. For this workspace, we can open and close a using window up. So our layout Israeli, we just open Window workspaces and save as new workspace and we called it YouTube ADD ink. Yes. That's all. I highly recommend that you do. Dry out the different workspaces, different layouts, and figuring out what's the most comfortable for you. Because as a proper workspace will save a ton of hours, you need to think that workspace is like moved it dual for example, you can use a lot of different stuff in Multi-tool. And you need to set this multi-tool to work for you, especially for you speaking about is all small windows. What do they look first one is our project window. It contains all our imported file in this specific project. For example, we will import our files from our really cool and fancy folders. We care for different types of view. These videos, it doesn't work good for audio. It's okay, It's nothing could just simple icon. And the last one is free form. You and I, I really don't know for why what? I don't like it. If you double-click on specific beam, it will open in the additional window, we can choose a different view settings in this specific beam. So it's really handy to use. If we double-click on the file, it will open in our source window. We can use it for watching care specific file before dropping into our sequence. So it's easier to just make a really rough cut. For example, we can just march in Windows, needs this beginning and our anion because it's, it's, it's quite useless. Let's get our rough cut and we can just drag and drop in our sequence. These edited clip effects window collects all different effects for audio, video, for calibrating and our presets, we have a lot of different transition the video effects. And one thing is that you need to do. I recommend that you just read your most usable effects and the maker specific folder. For example, you made a custom been called the mile off. For example, my love. And for example, you like to use a Luma Key because you have a lot of green-screen shooting and you just drag and drop in this folder and you just copy this effect in this gas down below. It's much easier and faster to just open your favorite, been, been with flavored effects and just use it ends. The next window is Margaret is show us all different Marxism. We will spend, I don't know, maybe 50, 60, 70 percent of all our editing times in this specific window. So we just create a new sequence. For example, it's just an example. And this is our sequence where we will build all our video. And you can see is that timeline is connected to our program window, so you can navigate through the whole sequence using the same markers in the program and on the timeline, we will speak more about different windows and features of these windows in future lessons. So don't worry, There's a lot of buttons, but we won't use it. And know maybe one button, two buttons. And, and that's all. So don't worry. Next window is effect controls. For example, we have for this really shiny, this beautiful video and we just click on it and we have he's properties. In this effect window, you can see a different setting, for example, position button scale, but on reputation. And we can use it for different animations. Keyframe incur, but we will speak more about it later. And if we add a different effects, it will show him here in this Effect Control tab. This window is second of the most usable in Adobe Premier Pro. And the last one is Audio Track Mixer is so easy to use because I didn't know how this logic works in Premier Pro, but you have more flexible tools for editing and adjusting your video, not audio. For example, you can use Adjustments layer four videos. You can use effects. You can apply effects on master clips, but speaking about audio, you can do nothing. You can make an adjustment layer for audio. You can't master. Adjuster your massive clip that will effect on the whole clip audio. So we will use the audio track mixture. It's works really easy. You just open this up and you have different layers on our timeline. For example, first layer is from this video footage and we can, for example, want to make a noise reduction of wind noise reduction. Just click on this one button. Click on the noise. That's all for whole AudioClip. We use. So the Niger, and that's all. You have. No need to apply this effect and adjusted on one individual clips and go be this Brexit for additional clips for another eclipse. You just, it will bother, you just use audio track mixer. And it saves a lot of time. If you don't like the result, you just click one button. That's all. Effect doesn't work and we have to really tiny windows. First one is for switching between different tools and the second one is for monitoring our audio volume. And that's all. This is a quick review of interface of Premier Pro. In the next video, we will make additional adjustment into the preferences and we will ready for editing. So let's go to the next slide, Dan. Yes, let go. 5. Applying Important Setting Before Editing: Before editing, we need to make a little adjustment in the preference of Premier Pro. So open up our preferences window, Add Media Cache. We need to set automatically delete cache files, folders, and for example, 30 days or the leads, the biggest and oldest cash, it's up to you. Next one is timeline. We will edit a big and long bunch of footage so we need to set out the scrolling, set on Smooth Scroll. Also, the most important settings is our shortcuts. Here is brought to you. We'll spend much less time using your keyboard, not using touchpad or your mouse. We will said bulk of important shortcuts. So open our keyboard shortcuts, we can see all different shortcuts, zed Premier Pro Hess, and you can set specific action on a specific button. First of all, we won't use blade tool at all. It's so useless. We will add, do different shortcuts. First one is add edit. I said that on C and also add edit to all drugs. And so on. Next one is, are they, again, I use it for really quick, really faster audio mixing. For example, when I add music, I want to make it much quieter. I use this tool to again set it on G. Next one is missing a glib. It's a really strange, but it's Premier Pro. It has a really strange logic, indifferent effects. We will set M button as the last one is speed or duration of our clip. I'll set it on S, and that's all we are ready to work. You can see a simple logic as for speed the G4 Audio Gain, and for maintaining equilibrium. So it's so easy to remember. So around 20 minutes passed and we are ready right now, we are ready to jump into our edit. So let's go. 6. Editing A-Roll #1 - Making Sequence, Using Shortcuts: Okay, it's time to start our editing. First of all, we need to understand that editing process has a lot of different steps. For example, aided arrow edit be euro at some music, audio mixing CO, transition effects, and after them, we have the final result, export. So the first one is really simple, a role. We have one video clip from this camera and audio from this record. This video, I will show you how to make a sequence, how to synchronize our glib and how edit make rough guard really easy and really fast. I speaking about the special video properties, for example, like resolution frames per second. Different export settings depends on the purpose, depends on the social platform. So we just open properties and we have, we can see you then ATP and frame rate at 25 frames per second and we are ready to go. First one is really simple. And as always, we have a small button called new item. It's looks like just a little sheet of paper. We can make a lot of different stuff using this button. But again, we can just drag and drop our file on this icon. It will make the same sequence as we made it before. As the third way, we just click on New Item and choose sequence. And we can see a lot of different presets for various cameras. For example, for every read or for example, DSLR, like this camera that I'm using right now, I'll choose presets that fit for me. So it's the ASOR, 10 ADP, 25 frames per second. And we can just click, Okay, and here this, our sequence is ready for work. We can use these presets are for adjusting key to another format. For example, you want to make or Instagram video and the unique make it in square format. We will use this press at the open our settings and we have detailed information that we can change. We need to change only two values. So it's our frame size, one hundred ten hundred by one hundred, ten hundred. And if I click again, new sequence will liquidate it, but I don't need it, but I want to save the settings for my future video, for example, which I will be a record for Instagram. Exactly for Instagram, I click Save Presets a name. I choose Instagram. One by one. And description I alright, for Insta boast. And below this line, we have our audio track, and above this line we have our video tracks. So it's so easy to navigate and understand which drug is video or audio. Our sequence is ready for work, but we can't right now aided our material because it's unsynchronized. So you can see is just its MS and we need to synchronize as this stuff if I have hold of them and a lot of interests in synchronizing these clipper by myself. I will just look and just again, no, I need to add the two milliseconds, moves to the left and adjusted dual feed, this DRX, what we are professional in it. So we will use a simple tool. Just select all our tracks and right-click and find synchronized button. Click on it and you synchronize by OCR click, Okay, and just waiting, KO, just waiting and waiting. And both groups are synchronized right now and we are ready to edit. We don't have this mess, so it's clear and simple and really useful. You synchronize tool for synchronize different audio and video tracks. How to edit this really fast because we have 20 minutes. This material use different shortcuts. First one, we have our J, K, and L buttons. These shortcuts is for controlling our play back. So you can save a lot of time just looking through all this material using a faster playback. Next one is our replacement of blade tool. We made a shortcut on Edit. So editing of our role is really simple. We just looking through all our footage and again, controlling cow Bloomberg using key L and J, making cut and using q and w for the leading unneeded parts of our footage during editing arrow, I am adding a different markers, do mark different places where I need to add some text may be a different bureaus. If we need to place our marker, we just press M and we have these green marker. We can double-click on it and write something. I'll show you later in editing Bureau how I manage disease markers. Editing arrow is really simple and really boring. We need to may exist thinker as fast as we can. So this is why I am teaching you how to use shortcuts. It's all about our productivity performance and saving our time and money, and we're ready for our next lesson. We will edit more advanced level of a role using CMS, cleave, multi-camera editing, and applying different really simple effects. So let's jump into it. 7. Editing A-Roll #2 - Multi-Cam Editing, Nesting the clip: So we have three different files. First one is a video from my cameras, second one is from my screen, and third one is audio from this record that let's add additional materials like screen recorders. We just drag and drop. We can see which specific place we can just put this file. And the last one is our audio file. We are ready to go, but first one we can see is that these windows is Screen Recorder is much bigger resolutions and my video file, we're from camera. We can use free different tools. First one is opened our effect controls and adjust our scale. And we can just tweak it around 60, but we can do the same just using two clicks. Right-click on this clip and weekend have our action called Scale to Frame Size boiler. You can see is that the value of scale didn't changed at all. You can use Set to Frame Size, not scale. And we can see is that our scale value changed. I prefer scale to frame size because this value didn't change. And you still have this flexibility in this set on 100 for this specific video, I want to make a loop like this video is, has two different angles. So we have this main angle with my face. And second one, we have our screen. In this screen recording, I will use only half of this screen because my main actions is located on the folder window. And we can just GOT as the other half and throw it away. And let's do this. For this, to angle a look, we will use multi-camera editing. We need to nest our video clips just selected. Click on the link. We disconnect our video layer from audio layer, so it's just an individual layers. In this video, we will use only this mike recording, so we can just delete these two audio tracks. And after this we will just click M because we made the shortcut for nesting egg leap and call it multi com bump. And we are ready to go. Right-click on this next clip and find multi-camera and click Enable. Right now we are able to choose which angle we will use. We can see that appears MC1, it multi-camera one. And we can choose our cameras using a number buttons I just pressed to enter our camera changed. Do we need to just add a two different additional buttons? First one is multi-camera record on or off, and second one is toggle multi-camera view. Right now we have only two video sources, but if it will be more cameras, so we will see another sources in additional windows. And right now it's so easy to edit these multi cam view because you just press Spacebar, watching this video and choose specific video clip. For example, I want to hear the show my screen. Right now. I want to show my face. Beautiful face. Again screen recording. And after we stopped our blade back, we have our edit made on z's timeline. You are working like a director or for football much so you're just looking and choose a specific and best angle that works right now for the second layer, I said that I don't want to use as part of the image. It's, it's useless for us. So I opened our next clip. It's located in our project window. Just double-click and we open as additional sequence. I want to cut off left part of the image here. So I'll adjust the Open Effects looking for crop and just drag and drop on this video. Or for example, you can just double-click if your video is selected and the has the same result. Or you can drop into the effects controls window. And I just cut the left part of the image just a half. And I want to feed this window for full HD format. So I just open again. Effect Controls. Adjust a little bit, scale, always a window, and move it to a right angle of z video. And here it is, there It's all. But right now we have a problems at my face. Doesn't look nice because it close to biases window. We just take our screen layer and drop it on the upper layer. If it doesn't exist, either wheel appears and we will create a new one. Let's make a copy of my face just hold option and drag our layer on the upper free layer. And it's much easier as end user command C, Command V or Control C control V.
