About This Class

Do you love a cloudy day by the ocean?  Want to try out pastels?  This class is for any skill level!  Join me as we explore some basic pastel techniques to create a simple ocean pastel painting.

Using a classic 2/3 sky, 1/3 ocean composition, we'll go through each of the following steps:

  • Blocking in our composition
  • Defining clouds and water
  • Adding dark and light touches of pastel to give a sense of converging clouds and moving water

You'll also get a quick demo of smearing techniques and spraying fixative!
