About This Class

Always wanted to draw a face and feeling insecure about it? I will show you how you can draw and paint a simple and interesting face. It is so much fun to make your own character!

You learn in this mixed media project how to draw a simple face and a hint of a body with a waterproof marker. I teach you how to use gesso for interesting structure. The fun part is to color the face with watercolor. I teach you how to make a skin color. How to use watercolor, which is easy and how you can use colors to give the face character.
And you finish the project by choosing a nice suitable shirt for yourself made character and by adding some features if you want.

Please join the fun!

I loved this class, very easy ,fun and interesting. Thank you !
This is such a delightful class for a beginner or seasoned artist. Fabulous guidance into the wonderful world of watercolor and fun portrait making. Whether you're just getting started with watercolor or desiring a loose, engaging project for an art journal or painting, Herma reminds us to have fun and trust ourselves to let go and just flow to create a one-of-a-kind portrait. Herma Starreveld and her teaching style is great company right to the end! Love the tips she freely gives in this workshop, too!

Good for anyone with or without experience. Beginners will not feel intimidated and experienced artists can always use something new to break through a block. We always learn something from each other.

I love drawing and painting with joy and happiness like a child . No perfection just enjoying shapes and colors and especially faces. I love faces! I love people and I love their stories. I really like to read biographies. I'm also a therapist and very interested in the lives of people. I love to translate that in a painting.
