1. How to Draw a Simple Unicorn Intro: Hello, friends. Welcome to art with Mr Noah. Let's take a look at what will be creating today. We're going back to basics with pencil and paper to get our drawing practicing. In this lesson, I'll go step by step to show you how to draw a simple cloud jumping unicorn. The goal is to learn how to effectively use basic shapes in order to construct more complicated designs. I have included extra practice drawings in the project description that you can combine to make a fun animated flip. This is one of three different designs that I've created, so make sure to check out the others if you're interested in more unicorn fund. But what about those macho men? We don't draw No thinking unicorns. I don't know. Just pretend you're drawing a horse. That's a good idea. This is a fun tutorial for anyone who wants to take a break from technology, create and improve their skills with good old fashioned art materials. If you're ready and excited to draw, let's get started. Uh, 2. Simple Unicorn Tutorial: Hello, Friends in this first lesson will be drawing the simplified unicorn. Let's get started by gathering or supplies. You'll need a pencil to make your construction lines and eraser to clean up the drawing and markers or a pen to create the final lines. For instructional purposes, I'll be using a blue pencil for the construction lines. Usually I like to come up with a simple story or thought that will help inform the drawing . In this case, I'm imagining the unicorn is jumping from cloud to cloud. Begin by lightly placing a circle where the head would be. Extend the line down and across to build a simple skeleton for the neck and body. The chest is slightly larger than the head and the back of the body. Connect the two circles of the torso to create a bean shape. Now connect the head to the torso to create the neck. I noticed there's a slight curve toe where the neck in the torso meat to indicate the shoulder. The lower neckline curves around to the bottom of the chest from the center of the head. Extend a line outward to determine the policeman of the nose and the mouth at a small circle. Wrap the face and muzzle to indicate a jawline and follow the curvature where the skull and the muzzle meat thiers look like. The letter D. Follow the curvature of the neckline to determine the placement of the front leg. The opposite front leg is lifted up and is indicated with a bent line. The hind leg looks a bit like a hook or a backwards question. Work. Duplicate the hind leg for the opposite side, but keep in mind that it is farther away from audience, so there's an adjustment in perspective and placement. The tail has some stiffness at the beginning of the line, but then curves downward. Begin to form the legs by wrapping the construction marks with taper lines that get closer to each other towards the bottom, you can indicate a hoof with a simple curved line on each leg. - For the tail. Try to imagine the swooping flow of the hair. We can't forget the unicorn's horn. It follows the flow of the neck, and projects outward from the head toe ultimately look like an upside down ice cream cone. Let's start giving our unicorn some details. The hair flows between the years and passed the cone, the main forms at the center of the neck and extends to the middle of the back. Since this is a simple design, the hair can be implied with large swoops of curved lines. The eye is placed high on the head and is drawn with a simple circle and to eyelashes. The nose is a small circle high on the muzzle, and the mouth follows the curvature of the construction line now fuel. Frieda had any details to make this design your own. Earlier, I indicated that this unicorn is cloud jumping, So let's tell that story visually. By creating a simple environment, - embellish your drawing and have fun with it. - When it comes time to clean up your drawing, you can use any number of art supplies. This time, I'm going to use a simple, thin tipped marker and a fresh sheet of paper. If you don't want to trace your drawing, you can clean up over the original pencil marks and use an eraser to remove the unwanted line. Remember to let your ink dry before using the eraser, though, as you might smudge the paper. Otherwise, - I'll admit that I don't usually color my drawings because I'm afraid I'll mess it up and ruin it . But this time I wanted to push the playful, in whimsical nature of the unicorn world with some light colored pencil. - When you're finished, make sure to check out the project description for additional drawings of the simple unicorn that you can combine to make a fun animation. 3. Conclusion: thank you for spending time drawing with me today. I hope you had fun and learned a skill or two. When it comes to your drawing, remember to find the line of action and use simple shapes to build the structure of your peace and to make your drying extra special, find a simple story to tell. Make sure to check out the project description where you'll find extra practice drawings.
