1. 1.0 - introduction to marketing processes: Welcome back today. I wanted to get into some digital marketing processes and platforms that I use to promote my courses. To get my word out there. Take a look at four marketing processes today to gain attention to my blood post to my skill share courses, any project or anything that I'm working on and why I use them and how I use thumb. So creating an incentive with a great new platform that I've known about for a while. But I've never really got into until I start to use it quite a lot with which streams. It seems to be the go to place these days for building up some kind of follower base, getting some incentive it a free course to give away. So creating an incentive with gleamed a Iot and turning followers into a bit of a game they have. I have so many entries who get into the contest so you can have them following on YouTube or on your Twitter account, maybe on your twitch. Or maybe sign up to your newsletter list. And each one of those is an entries. I really like the way that gleam have done this. Have kind of incent if I the following process off following somebody to do. Check that out. Automation with Livestream chat you are else and calls to action events tried and tested and true. Twitter, Facebook, instagram, YouTube and slide share. Five reasons. Five Platforms. Why you should be using these platforms as a default. I've been using these for years now, and they work really well. And then the audio roots are listening audience off podcasts and using something to just get something out there on a daily basis using anchor dot F M. 2. 1.1 - gleam is your friend: so gleam. Daio is my new favorite, all of choice. Think of it as many actions in one place. You don't have to get people going off to different websites. You can run a campaign on gleamed io and have so many different entries into a giveaway. It can be a free course to be something that you want people to sign up to. So instead of a newsletter where they give your email address, you could do things like follow on YouTube, follow you on Twitter Facebook. Each one of those activities that they do is an entry into the competition. And then on the lean dot Io website side, you can run the competition and pick out who actually want to get in touch with them and give them the benefits of the giveaway. For instance, I did one yesterday with Paladins, watched a live stream gaming show off to competitive teams playing on. Part of that was a giveaway on what they did is had a box ruling in their YouTube channel, whereas if you put shift on once an apostrophe gave you the link to the gleam i o campaign the page and on their there was up to five or six entries that I could do by doing various actions. It's a really subtle way to incentivize getting people to follow you on certain accounts, obviously build up your audience that way. People love stuff. They gorge on it. They love to win tech part prizes. I did it because I just wanted to get 200 crystals just for this game, to be able to add new characters and new skills. But stupid, really. But I also managed to boost my account for seven days, which gives me more golden various things in game. Just feels like I'm getting more than than I would if I didn't take part. So it's a really nice way of engaging people, kind of a game of vacation, really subtle, especially gamers. They're just watching a live stream. They watch the live stream and go fill in this at the same time. I think it's a generational thing. I think certain generations would just be like, Well, why should I follow you? Give me this. Give me this. Give me that. I think millennials on the new generation coming up below that of just Yeah. What is that? yell, sign up to it and just subscribe about two years down the line. Them subscribe for it, but it's now is present. They're interested in that moment, and so they signed up to it, the one as many entries into the contest as possible. You could multiply your chances of winning by doing more. These actions increases the engagement level. You can also capture e mails, make responsive galleries on the site and create redeemable rewards for your product. So once you've got them using this platform, they'll know about gleam that they'll know about the feeling that had go through the process. It was an easy process, so adding on these additional bits is relatively easy. I would definitely go check it out. If you're looking to build up your audience development in 2017 people that you want to market to 3. 1.2 - interactive will have it's year in 2017: 2017 for me is the Livestream year should have been 2016. I think maybe we had a bit of this on 2015 with sort of periscope. Things like that kind of died off this year, but 2016 bit of a bit of a miserable year around, I think. Live stream on demand Livestream interactive with the body with the AI component of BNL to feedback inside those chat rooms to give back information for people who are in the chat room in an automatic way. Not just setting you are else like we do with the current level of box that we have like night. But, for instance, I think it's gonna be the killer app for the killer marketing channel for communication for audience Development in 2017 about your niche topic doesn't have to be about gaming. I've seen people on Twitch TV. There's a whole channel for people who have just had something to eat and cooks in the street is a whole channel of people just watching people eating, which is beyond me, why people want to do it. But if you have a specific hobby, specific niche. If you can convert that into some kind of live streaming show, there is an audience and on demand audience that were very reactive who want to take part. And if you're asking in real time a call to action to do certain things things like gleam I mentioned in the previous life on Absolute Given using those bots to sit in your text chat while you're building, making sharing enables team of one to get ahead. It used to be that you needed a whole production team of people behind the scenes running all this stuff. And now you just need to have a bit of competence about how to set up a livestream to check out one of my courses. About that, you need a box that sits into your texture. Gonna make sure that you've got all your social channels linked up, a gleam account linked up so that you can share that Newsome giveaways. You can literally run your own live streaming show, now it for a team of one. You don't need to have more for people to do this. Obviously, the more people the better. They can take control of different areas, but if you can run a live stream on your own and have a lot of this stuff being managed, admin managed for you with these additional body. Just make your life a lot easier. Does that social promotion that marketing for you while you're doing your day to day life stream onscreen called actions, you could use Q R codes that people can scan maybe some discounts. Real time discounts over the next 10 things that you build. Maybe old making rhetoric, pie gaming, retro gaming units that you're sending out to people that you could do discounts for the next 10. People can see you building those in real time, putting them in an envelope and sending them out. They could be super time sensitive, never to be seen again. Discounts adds a sort of incentive to take part to get involved. Obviously, you can do those call to actions that when people have paid for stuff, you could display something on screens. They feel part of that community part of that moment. In 2017 I'll be putting together a live streaming review show, hopefully with other course creators from skill share and you to make we will be doing sort of reviews on courses. Obviously, I'm gonna be promoted my own courses on there, but also people that are doing courses on skill share that I really like. And respect will be doing a livestream show, maybe once a week, with maybe three or four skill share existing skill share, or you to me teachers. And they all have almost like a book club off sites that they have been looking at on courses they've been looking at that week, and we'll feed back to you. And what makes that course good how it could be improved on some of the take aways that we found in it? 4. 1.3 - my five tried and tested sites: all right, then. So let me talk about the five platforms that are. I think people should be using Twitter can still be productive. It's a bit white noise out there. There's a lot of junk in there. You have to really dig through it. But I think if you are especially using the moments feature, there is some good stuff in the moments feature. People are curating that stuff. I think better. If you have the Twitter app, I would go to the moments tab. Have good looking there. You can create your own moments. Now you need to start thinking of your marching and strategizing round moments. Feature making sure that you, kal eight, those tweets that you put out Make sure that you've got the URL for at least the title off that tweet so you can do a search while you're making your moments. Facebook, when it's used with instant articles, support means people can read your blood post quicker because it's cached on their network rather than coming from your block. And if you've got a little bit of a budget for small ads, you cannot lose on Facebook. They've got a well tuned data engine for marketing, especially if you want to promote online courses, instagram and instagram stories. I would think you should use this building a journey, creating an awareness or a journey around the build up towards the project. So if you are buying a new laser cutter or your developing off grid house, or if you're living moving into a van or you're setting up a brand new studio documenting the process behind the scenes building, open another audience on that platform that you can slowly bring across to say onto YouTube or even get them to sign upon your gleamed a Iot page. This is just another way of creating another audience that feeds into your marketing efforts. YouTube audience develop on YouTube Like I said, this is investable Pretty much everywhere. Everywhere supports YouTube, every platform, my views. Recently, it's fair, like a crypto currency like steam it, they support YouTube. Buehrle's where you might about use whiskey or video. YouTube seems to be the go to place for video hosting, So if you want to be able to put video on any side in in 2017 especially when it comes to crypto currency, we're going to start to see a lot Mawr block chains for media, I believe to make sure that you're starting to do some work on you to regulate the live streams. Remember, doing the live stream on YouTube becomes a video that lives on YouTube. After you've finished, make sure that you archive that stuff. And I think YouTube and live streaming in general is gonna be massive in 2017. Don't forget good tried and tested platforms like slide share. Give away your wisdom. Those pdf's You get great traffic back to your assets to your website. You won't necessarily get on audience that you you can utilize, but you will drive traffic to that site. And if you do have AdSense on that site, you will hopefully earn some additional money from that ad revenue. 5. 1.4 - podcasts and audio, growth magnets!: podcasts are here to stay audio and mashing up new ways to arrange it will be the multimedia move for 2017. I've got some ideas about doing video on YouTube. Next year I will be doing some live stuff. I'll also do some podcasts really interesting mashup like Trans Media Way. I'm gonna make a podcast next year using sort of animated GIFs, cinema graphs, imagery and, in general, quite interesting twists. And I'm gonna be pulling that stuff on nomad videos. If you're not doing a podcast about your niche about your experiences that your legacy, your history, your wisdom that you built up over the years on your niche absolutely need to be making podcasts relatively easy to make. You don't need quality equipment to do it. Focus on that nature. You don't need that best gear out. Their best quality you can afford is good enough to get started. You can incrementally make it better, and the best thing about audio is that people could be listening into the car on a plane in the airport. They don't have to focus on video that can just have it on their headphones in their ears. Give them value. Give them something interesting to listen to weekly shows. Feeding into your marketing efforts will bring about increased brand awareness. You wanna be everywhere. It is about the attention economy is one guy out there is prolifically. Talking about it all the time and I absolutely believe, is absolutely on point with What he's saying is that people's attention is your biggest asset, your marked into people's attention. Now you're trying to get them aware of your brand. And if you're in the environment off Snapchat instagram stories and they're looking daily that Conway for your next post, it's a perfect opportunity to drop. In the meantime, I only that YouTube link or your podcast involved that audience. I can't stress this enough speak. Pipe dot com is a great way to take calls to play into your show. You sound bored studio dot com, which is an IOS app for about 29 books. To make a quality production, just get all those different bits of assets together. Put them together in san board studio and you have yourself a podcast. I think if you start doing these repetition, get into a consistency with this, you'll find It's a lot easier than you think, and you don't need to spend as much time as you think it's gonna take. The knock on effect to this is that it will help across the board with your marketing efforts if you have audio, video and textual approaches. 6. 1.5 - please take the project!: All right, then. Five step project. Go to your project in the bar below par. Awesome Project title in the project works both be creative. Include pictures and the steps you took to make it happen. Which parts of your marketing strategy do you think you're failing on in 2016? Have a sit down and think about your audio, your video, your textual. Are you tracking and looking at the analytics that that stuff Is it having an impact? Do you need to change the way that you make? Are you being open? Create value, being authentic about what you're trying to get out of this? Are you just doing it to create more customers? Are you doing it to be a practitioner in an area? Are you looking for a peer group toe work with? You really need to hone that stuff before you put that content out. Pick this week over image. If you don't have one, got a nomad Doc pictures and down the warm for free click on save and you're done 7. 1.6 - the roundup: I think you'll find some golden solutions and hear some golden nuggets. If you have any questions whatsoever, just put them in the project. I will help you out with your marketing and your promotion via social media. I track everything that I do. I've noticed I get a good trend on skill share in terms off the follow account, getting a reasonable amount of people following the courses on a day to day basis. I will report back to you at the end of December about how well the Advent calendar did. I am promoting on different areas. I'm gonna be starting to use gleam soon as well across my projects, from YouTube to podcasting and really excited to start podcast in 2070. Consistency is the key. I love making these courses on a day to day basis. It gives me something to focus on, gives me some clarity, allows me to hold and get better. It doesn't necessarily matter if it's not perfect. I've got that same problem. I've wanted to be right wanted to be right, but actually, you know, date of doubles in size every 72 hours or so much stuff going on the Web. You can just iterating get things better constantly adapting and changing myself. You have to in a real time, on demand world, we're gonna be replaced by I and box in the next couple of years. We might as well get things done while we can be on message. Create value. Give back Bill sent it. You can't ask for anything better than that. If you're on message about persons needs. If you're creating value and by value, you're giving them something in the time they spend on your content Giving back to people actually say he go. Here's some free vouchers like I do with every one of my courses. I give away 25 every day. People are a bit confused. Why give away so much free stuff? Actually, what? The audience I want you as an audience member don't necessarily need your skill share money . Just having that is an added bonus. I actually enjoy doing this stuff and be authentic about it. This is the environment that I live in and working. I don't work in a 95 hate water cooler chat or one of work on stuff that I'm interested in . Ask yourself. What makes you stay on a livestream? What makes you watch your life to him? What makes you schedule and must watch that life Street trying to identify the points that capture points that make you go in Moscow and see that I'm interested in that I must learn and then apply that your own ideas for your life stream next year. I think there's a real power tip I've just started to notice in live streams that I go to fold. For instance, gaming reason Why did won yesterday's that I absolutely love the game. I'm trying to learn new skills, new positions on the map because I'm super competitive at this game. And so there's something that makes me want to go to that site, spending my time to switch from what I'm doing and go and watch that life stream. You need to think about how you can do that for your nation. Your industry. Please share on review, and if you haven't gone premium please go premium. I will see you soon. Take care 8. 1.7 - review, share and go premium!: while I have you enjoyed the course, Please share and review the course. It really does. Help me out. Click on the triple dot button. Leave a review shared with Twitter and Facebook. I'll catch up with you.
