About This Class

In this class/series we set an ambitious goal of developing our own trading card game with Unity3d and C#, mostly focusing on card game battle mechanics.

In trading card games like Hearstone, cards are usually still not big enough to see all the stats and, especially, the description text clearly. To resolve this issue, when players hover over the card, we'll show an enlarged preview of the same card.

Another point that we'll discuss in this class - when a creature enters the battlefield, essentially, it is no longer a card. Now it should be described by another entity that will follow different rules. We'll make a new prefab that will represent creatures in our game that will be a simplified version of our creature card – just the oval frame with a card image and stats icons.

So, in this class you`ll learn how to:

  • Create card previews for your cards and creatures.
  • Create a creature template/prefab that will represent all the creatures in your game.

With this class you will gain access to a compete, fully functional Unity project that is an example of a card game battle. The game mechanics are somewhat similar to Hearthstone: custom spells, hero powers, creature effects and so on.
