You will not only learn how to meditate, but you will start your own practice with a guided meditation in which I will personally talking through the process. So let's get started. Shall we 3. The Foundation of Focus - Diet: before we start with the exercises, and it's important that we first create the ideal circumstances for your focus. Breakfast of Dr Think of it like this. Let's say I give you some pumpkin seeds because you want to grow pumpkins for the seeds to grow on. Ultimately bear fruit. It is crucial that they are planted in fertile soil. The plants need sun enough water, perhaps some composed, and you need to cut out the weeds. Similarly, in order for your focus, breakfast the bear fruit you need to create the best foundation for it to grow. This means a healthy diet, regular exercise and getting enough sleep. 4. The Foundation of Focus - Exercise: I'm not a building block for supercharging. Your focus is regular exercise. What type of exercise. There are many studies that show the beneficial effects of doing aerobic exercise, such as running for a couple of hours per week. However, a big qualifier is that these studies often do not compare aerobic exercise with other forms of exercise. Scientists often want to study whether there is a difference in outcome between exercising and not exercising, and it's simply choose to use aerobic exercise for their experiment. However, there are studies that show, for instance, that also strength training has positive cognitive effects. The rule of farmers, whatever is good for your heart, is good for your brain, and it could be a simplest walking. When I wake up, I'm often quite grumpy. What I'm not tend to do is just take a walk around the neighborhood for 30 60 minutes. When I come back, I add a couple of stretches and I'm good to start my day 5. The Foundation of Focus - Sleep: the last building block for developing the great focus is getting enough sleep. You can try to focus all that you want, but if your head goes like this, you know getting anything done. When you go to sleep, your brain doesn't turn off. Think of a tomato. It stores energy during the day through photosynthesis and at night uses that stored energy for growth. Your brain takes in information when you are awake when you sleep. This information is stored by changing the structure of the synapses between neurons. Also, your brain uses a lot of energy during the day. When you sleep, you literally recharge your battery. A great way to restart your battery during the day is taking a power nap, and that must be short. Maximum around 20 minutes and you can't force it. In the beginning, you might just lie on the bed workouts. If you don't fall asleep, simply accepted and just relax your body. If you make it a daily habit. Eventually your body will learn that there's a sleeping time and it will adapt 6. Meditation - Introduction: Jenny is doing some groceries in a supermarket when she bumps into Walter. Hi, Jenny. How uses Walter? I'm fine, thank you. Hi, Sean. Johnny doing? Jenny says, Well, he's still unemployed, but he's meditating now. Well, to assess Meditating. Was that who was? Jenna replies. I don't know, but it's better than doing nothing and sitting around all day. Okay, okay, I admit it. That was a bad joke, but there's an essence of truth to it. Meditation is like the new kid on the block that everyone talks about, but you don't know what to think about him yet. Everyone's telling a different story about him. The history of meditation can be traced back thousands of years. It only recently made its way into the Western mainstream, primarily under the umbrella off the mindfulness movement. 7. Meditation - What Is It?: meditation is a means of transforming the mind. When you read about meditation, it is often reduced to a practice where you sit comfortably with your eyes closed. You focus on your breath. You just try to be aware of the train of thoughts. But it really is only the tip of the iceberg in the eight limbs set out in his classical texts. Yoga sutras, the author potentially differentiates between brought Yarra, which is the withdrawal from all sensory input. Donna, which means concentration, and Deana, which is often translator. This meditation and encompasses sustained concentration brought yada, brings the intention in words. Donna brings it to a razor sharp one point of focus, and then that Focuses used to expand into a state of meditation. Dion ultimately transitions into summary, which is the state of self realization. 8. 7 Meditation My Experience: I learned about concentration and meditation when I discussed it with a Buddhist monk. Some Buddhist temples in Thailand organized munchies for tourists. This is a good way for monks to practice their English and for visitors to learn more about the life of a monk. A couple of years ago, I went to one off those monk jets. At that time, I just finished a 10 day free personal meditation retreat. Every person is a technique aimed to develop an intuitive wisdom by seeing things clearly as they are. It is said that the Buddha used this technique to become enlightened. During the first day of this retreat, we would only focused on the breath. Later on, we would extend our focus to the entire body. When I asked the monk if he also practiced FleetBoston meditation, he said, I've been here for three years, but I'm not ready If I'm still learning to concentrate, we can only start practicing for busting on meditation when I can look at this table that we're sitting at and Onley see this table without having any thought. I was a bit taken back by that here I set with a monk who had been meditating for at least three years, and he basically told me he hadn't been meditating at all. This reminded me of another at stitching off the Buddha. Becoming enlightened is very easy. It merely requires one hour without thought. 9. Meditation - State, Practice & Technique: in the finding meditation, It is helpful to differentiate between the state, the technique and the practice of meditation. Meditation is a state of consciousness or a state of mind. The meditation practice is the effort in training oneself toward the meditative state, and a meditation technique is the specific path the technology or method used for attaining the meditation state. How I understand the monk is that he had a meditation practice in which he used a meditation technique. However, he had not yet experienced the state of meditation. 10. Meditation - Techniques: there are many different meditation techniques. Western scientists often differentiate between two focused attention. This is a meditation technique where the attention is focused on a single object and open monitory and this type of meditation, all aspects off our experience are observed without judgment or attachment. An example of this is mindfulness practice, in which one monitors whatever comes up in the present moment. Without judgment. However, there are many other meditation techniques. Here are a few examples There are meditation techniques that transcend their own activity, like transcendental meditation tm ally yoga. We can also meditate on cultivating love and kindness. I'm feeling a specific jocular or, for instance, on the nature of creation. 11. Meditation - Benefits: Over the last decades, there's been an explosion in scientific research exploring the effects of meditation. Meditation is shown to have many healing benefits. Specifically regarding the topic of this course, Meditation improves focus. It improves learning and memory. It also reduces stress symptoms and increases the ability to work on the stress. And meditation develops cognitive skills, such as maintaining attention on disengaging from destruction. Meditations really one of the best things you can do if you want to train your focus. 12.
