Project Description

Design a book cover for a short story or poem

ASSIGNMENT

Your assignment is to design a book cover, putting in practice the read, think, and design process that Peter brings to every project at Knopf. Your goal isn't to create something that merely looks cool, but rather to challenge yourself to create a design that says something and really communicates your thoughtful, smart interpretation of the artist's project. This is about marrying meaning with great design.

DELIVERABLE

Your final deliverable is a book cover. A completed project will include:

  • A link to your chosen short story or poem
  • Image(s) or description of your annotations
  • Image(s) of your rectangle/thumbnail sketches
  • Image(s) of your design iterations (optional)
  • An image of your final book cover, including the book's title and author

Don't wait to upload the project all at once—jump in, get started, and update your progress. If you'd like, copy and paste this Project Template as a guide.
