1. Documents: in this lesson, we're gonna have a look at creating an A four document. Now, I find camp a brilliant for doing this kind of work. You know, if you're if you're working to produce a document, other a sales report, any kind of report. Really? And you used to maybe making documents in Microsoft Word that something like that, which is fine you can use can ver on their layouts to produce really professional looking documents. I really recommend it so well, come down to documents. We'll click on a four, and it will bring up all the templates we have to choose from on the side here. Now, as you can see, there are all sorts of different things. You can have planners. There's things like parties to do lists, all that kind of stuff, his review pages. There's literally hundreds and hundreds of documents you can make really nice looking templates. Um, but for this video of what would have a looker, maybe like, sales report something like that for a marketing document so we can scroll down. We have to scroll down quite a way because there are all sorts of reports in here, and we can choose the kind of one that works now the beauty with can ver That's what we'll have a look at in this lesson is that you don't just have to pick one template and stick to it. When you're producing reports, you can pick one template. You can start with that, um, and you can add other templates that you feel work Well, as you go three. So say, for example, he wants to pick something like a marketing proposal. These sorts off more formalized looking reports. Let's pick one that we like something around here, perhaps something like this with the yellow right. So that's gonna be our main documents will click on that you'll see opens below and you've got the cover and you've got a page. So we'll start with the cover who come and load up here. So has we have done in all of our other lessons we can switch all these things out. We can change the text, you know, we could call it anything you want. We call it sales report, click then then we can change the text. We can change the photo, do all that kind of stuff now, But we want to do in this report is add more pages into our document. We don't just want a one paced document you might be producing maybe a 10 page document. So, as we looked out earlier in the course, would click here on, add a new page. So that brings a blank template you could just use at texting yourself. Design your own pages at some text, maybe have some shapes at an image. But what you will stick with templates for now. So I'm gonna click on this is all template again. We can switch the photos, and in that we can change the colors. We can do whatever we want. So, for example, say we're doing an architectural firm that has got some architectural photographs we can add our own photos in. So I went as I usually do, went to pick Sabei, found some nice architectural photos, and you can search canvas if I search for architecture to see what we could find again. You have some nice photos, but they're generally the paid for photos. Where is in picks about You can get the free photos so I could change that man out, perhaps to this. He's coming track and release. You can switch your images now as we've done, although through the course you can change the text, change the headings and all that sort of thing. Now, when I produce documents, why I generally like to do is type Howell the work in word or any other sort, text document, and then copy and paste it in here. So rather than having to work in Canada and actually type all of your work out, you could just elite on a copy and paste so I could bring up her standards or text document . I could run in this sentence. I can copy that. And then I could paste that in there, so ever seen a bit more clearly. So you can come in. We can have a go at copying and pasting. You can bullet point. You can bold, italicized, all the kind of things you can do word, and you can go ahead and produce a nice looking document. Now, the problem of this template, of course, is any two pages to it. So if I go back to my layouts, you can see it's a cover on there on the right is the pager. Just using You are Of course they will. Just add more pages yourself and you design them yourself. But what I really want to do is use other templates, but make them match up. So that's what we're gonna do Now we're gonna add 1/3 page on. We're gonna find another, um, document that we like. We can try this one. That's a bit too different. Keep going down. Maybe something like this write something like this is his third page might work well against a paid for, but it's probably the photos. So let's go ahead and bring that up. There we go. There's our page. So yes, you can see these other pay elements. So what we might do is actually just delete the whole element itself. Get rid of that one and get rid of that one rights and they have the third page. But as you can see, it doesn't really fit in with a style off the second or first page on. That's mainly just to do with the colors and fonts. So the first thing we're gonna do is change out this ready color on Bring that into our yellow here. So I click on the box here and come over. Choose our document color that works well at the bottom. You got these darker triangles, but that's final. Will switch that up, too. Then if you want to keep the's triangles, we could put that in a slightly darker orange, just as a subtle, uh, hint. Larry. Good. So is the first part. Second, let's change this heading up here again. We want to change out into our document colors. We could go for the darker color which matches the, uh, bar over here that works quite nicely again. We want the triangles. We could just elite knows you could keep that one there. You could try that of the other who we could maybe just delete it. A case. So same thing with the text. Let's put that into our document colors as well. Let's change that. Okay. And straight away, you can see that this now it's closely matched to the one above. Same with this one that's changed that to adopt on that could be in the light. Change that. Yeah, if you don't show about the white on the yellow, we could change that up into the dark as well signed with all of them. Change that. That stands out better against the the yellow color. Let's just try that final one. Change that into dark and change that one as well against something wanted to go in here. So let's go into our uploads. Maybe I reviews that photo. Um, best friend would use against for this example. Okay, fighters come in, we could just shrink that down, line out with the dotted lines and then we go says part one. We've got the branding now looks very similar. Case You've got this one here. Maybe we want to switch that one into their again. If you want to re signs that will click and just line that up. Okay, so you've got the yellow and the dark blue, you know, dark blue and the same on here. You've got the yellow Doppler. We could change that to yellow or keep White always works well with everything. So we could keep that one or even go into the light yellow. This one could stay yellow or coworker was black or the dark blue. And this text here it's slightly different to this text. That's the final thing we need to change. So what I would do is just zoom in. It's just check the color. So you've got this text here that's in that dark blue rather than black anything. It looks almost black. So this one here, I think we should change this. Just so every little element is the same. You don't want to forget just one little color. There we go. And now has one there again, it's easy to forget these little bits of text. So you want to go through in detail, check them all, and maybe we'll change that as well. And now you could look at this page. We could look at this page and now they almost look like they should be together. Just one final thing. And that is the fonts of the color, I think is the most important thing. But the next thing is the funds. So we have to just find out what funds we like best with another. Change these funds into the one we used here, or this one into him. I quite like this fund. So we look up here. This is monster at light. This one is just months. Sarette, This one is open Sands on this one. His open sands. So we've got a choice of two months or open. Sands, Let's go up here. Find out. This is This is Droid Serif. So I want to change this one, maybe two months or at I change this one, too. Open sends. See what this one is. This one is monster out. Lights, actually. Let's make sure they're all the same. So this change this one toe answer light. This is our test sentence. We can change that two months or at light? Same in here. Can it? Slightly too big now. So just changes. Or you could find you could move this down a little bit like that. Okay. And then finally the title. Let's go. Solid months direct. We get just line up. So now you can see you go through that. You want to go through your whole document on, make sure that you have the same fonts in all the Texan. Every about the same colors, the same funds. I would say all of these pages now link up on look like one documents you can keep going through adding more and more pages. You could design them yourself, or you could come back into your layouts. Choose another template at In Andi. Complete your document. Now when you're finished, what you want to do is coming to download on. What you may find is there might be some premium elements still inside our documents. Or let's find out we'll click on download. We wanted to pdf print, because if you're planning to print this doctor in out, you definitely want A A. Pdf print version will go for all pages. Now, when it's Jay Peak or picture file that will download them all in a Zip folder. When you're doing a pdf like this, it will merge it all into one pdf doctor, which is really, really handy. So I click on all pages. I'll click download. All right, it says, Here, purchase your premium elements. So this icon that we have, that's actually a premium element, so we can either pay the dollar, um, and keep that in all we can switch it out. So for this video, let's switch it out. So here it is here. What we'll do is we'll click on that. Well, just remove it and let's go back to our elements are icons is our our icons. That safe is a computer. Ah, well, there's something that I left on your computer screen here, so that might work. Let's click on that. Bring that in. Resize it, uh, line it up with our document. There we go. And again we can put into our brand colors. We maybe want to put in the dark color. So once we've done that, we are ready to download. I'll come over to my download button. Let's try it again. We want pdf print all pages. Let's click on the download again that I'm convinced it'll down into one pdf document all of your pages together. And we'll just see what that looks like. Shouldn't take too long. Okay, here, we guys coming down, downloading down here, right? And it's opening seven. Look, think of it slow. Should be lighting Hebdo. But so here's our sales report. It's a front cover is our second page. He's our third pace. You can see it looks like one perfectly branded document that you can like. I always do. Do my work inward. Copy and paste into one of these designs. It doesn't take very long at all printed out. It looks very, very professional. So there we go. If you do produce documents, I would definitely recommend looking into producing your documents with canvas in the future. 2. Data and Charts: right. So in this lesson, we're gonna have a look. Adding charts to what documents? This is a really brilliant new function that having camber. You see, this is the report we've just made. We just made our sales report. These are our pages. We did all the branding will put the text and the images and the colors. But if you want to add some data or some chance into your report, you can now do that within canvas. So we're gonna do is gonna produce an example chart on gonna put it into our design. So here's the blank pages. Just zoom in a little bit so you can get a good view. So here's a blank page. What want to do is add some data into our reports. We come over to our elements, become over down here to charts, and that gives us a lot. The options you could do bar charts. You've got lying graphs, you got pie charts and you got these doughnut graphs are quite popular these days, especially infographics. So to start with, let's just go for a basic, um, bar chart such as this. So you put that in, and that will come up on. Bring up your charter. Look something like this. So once the date is in, we can have a good changing all of the things up. The first thing you might want to do is change the colors. So we got the data here. There's change, the color, perhaps one of our brand or document colors, something like that. So again, they like to have the coast lighten as they go up the chart. So that's the first thing we can work on. Second thing we can do is click back on. That second thing we can do is change the text or size, but first we wanted these actually change the data itself. So let's go into data tab. And over here you've got all the items along the horizontal X axis item or note to church and three, and then you get all the values up the side. So let's say, for example, we're doing a sales chart. We can maybe change that January. So you change it in here and you see automatically. It changes it down here. So item to perhaps could be February writing. Three could be march etcetera, so you could fill out all of your man's will. Fill those out a pro on May so you can change out your items here, and then you can change your values. So say, January was 23. It will automatically resize for you so you could put that's 15 on and it will change the values on your Y axis If you put some larger numbers in. So say, for example, on this one about 100 you see now we're going up in 25. That's changed it for you. Let's bring that back down to 10 and now we're going up in tens so we'll do all this for you, which is really, really good. So there's our chart. There's a real if he wants at another column we can add in June and at a value off say 24. And they were at the column. Adds June at 24. So once you're happy with it, we can click back off the data and then we have our finished chart. You see there because we've added an extra column in its change. The angle of the words because they were too large can. But we can Charon and change the font circle put ah Monserrat fun in that we use in our in our text. We could change the colors if you wanted to have again yellow. It is not very easy to to see that, but you could do that. You could change it all up, and then we have a really nice bar chart. If you decide you don't actually want a bar chart, you want to change into one of the other styles we can click on the chart. Let's go to style. Let's maybe choose line graph, and that will change it for us in toe our line graph again. We can change the colors. We can change all of the data set and here, okay, and you can produce that. You might want it as a ah, for example, a punch up on that will do it there. We'll go back for now. We'll go back to bar chart on Let's go back to our colors that we wanted right. Once you're happy with it, we can go ahead and resize on. We can move into our document, so that's click on it. We can drag again, resize it down like what? That's just the amount of it. So I want to maybe put my graphs I up in this space. So let's, uh, to leave that and I'll see if I could move my chart up into this space around here. So let's scroll down, make it smaller. On what? Content? What introduce? Just drag it so I can drag it from one page to another. I don't want it on that page so I could drag it and pop it in. Line it all up. I'm popping in. I can resize again. If it's too small, you can't assume in resize the elements. So all lines up nicely and then you have it an excellent way of putting data into your documents Ready to go. This is perfect cause you no longer need to create your data in spreadsheets such as Excel and then copied them in. You can create your data directly within can va. Excellent looking charge. You can match the color of the fonts on. Put it straight into your documents. So there we go. That's how to create a document that's had a great data. So yes, you go ahead in the next project. Have a go at producing a really professional looking documents. In the next video, we're gonna have a look at creating slideshow templates, something you might use in PowerPoint or keynote. For example. We follow the same ideas as we have discussed here and documents changing the colors, changing the funds to create branded image on. So I will speak to you in the next video. 3. Presentation Slides 1: So in this video, we're gonna have a brief look at creating some presentation slides that you may want to use in software such as Power Point. So you come down here to documents, you've got two options. You've got the standard presentation, which is 10 24 pixels by 768. Or you can do the wide aspect ratio one here, which is 1920 by 10. 80. So again, depending on what you're looking to, dio choose one of these templates, I'm gonna go for the wind aspect and that will bring us up onto the left hand side with our templates. So just we looked at with documents. The same thing applies to presentation slides. I can choose a template such as this one here. Within that there are many different slides you can use all within the same branding the same color scheme and gay. But just as with documents, you can find other templates and mix and match. So let's go for this one. To start with, I might use a slide like this that brings it all in. You put your document colors just as we did before, and I might add a new page and say, for example, I don't want to use this one anymore. I could try and find another one, get a complete, different branding color. But we could make it match our original car so I could choose this. So we never got paid Slide one and slide to. So what I'm going to do with slight to is get the colors to match slide one. So I'm gonna go in here, choose the yellow usar branding color so they match Same with here. That's changed those up. And then we can have a look at the colors within the logo. So he got little music Note that looks like it's a dark gray, the writings in a dark grey. So let's ah, change That, perhaps, was change the background into that dark gray color. The logo design text could go into the sandy yellow. Very simply, we could change this up as well. Change the yellow there toe are sandy yellow. This could perhaps be point. This could perhaps be want, and then we have it straight away. Nice and quick. We've got the colors matching across both slides. Next thing we want to do as we said before is to match the fonts. So this one is earlier on heavy. This one is also also perhaps we could change this one all swirled, etcetera, and make sure all the fonts match. So we're basically doing the same thing we did in documents. But we're doing that with our slides. Eso final thing with it. With a slide, you may want to animate your slides, for example, in Power Point are often do this. So I might not want to put all the text in here. I might actually get rid of that text and leave the space because I know when I imported into Power point and I want to put some text, maybe animated coming in from the side. It is when this is my background and I'm gonna put my text in separately. So go ahead, make your slides. Once you've done that, you want to click on the download again with these, you want to download them in the highest quality you can, especially if you're producing a presentation. I mean, you can download this. Pdf if you want to print them. But if you want them images, I would definitely go for a PNG over a J pig because J picks as we discussed before, mainly for putting online small file sizes. So there we go. That's doing slide shows very similar to documents. Andi, I will speak to you in the next lesson. 4. Presentation Slides 2: Adding Themed Pages: So in this video, I want to talk about another way. You can continue to be consistent in multi page documents if you don't want to keep adding templates in different templates in each time. So for this example, I've used a presentation slide very simply open. A nice photo in the background, I thought would go for a visit. Norway theme. But like what we did earlier in the course. Imagine we're working for the Norwegian Tourism Board. We want to make a nice presentation about visiting Norway. So you put a nice photo in, added a filter. I came over the text to some of ah design graphic design text. Think I chose this one here? It switched out the text and have visit Norway. So that's our basic designs. What you can imagine is we want to make a slide presentation slideshow, but we want to keep the same theme going through. Every slide potentially might want to make a 30 or 40 slide presentations. I don't wanna keep adding lots and lots of new template every time, so this is the best way to do it. I'm going to keep this sliders might front cover slide on. I'm going to add in all the rest of the slides with same background on the same theme. So it has continuity running right through out the slide show. So what I do is I come over to the right here. Tells me this is slide one, click this button, and what that will do is copy the page onto the new page form. It's why. Click here and now scroll down. And that has made a copy off that page. You can see this. Page two. Okay, so now I'm going to start adjusting my slide show so I can make this into a text based slide, and I'm gonna copy those further one through. So this may be might be my logos. One might just shrink that down. So perhaps I might want that in the corner like this for all of my slides. Next, I might want to add a banner or a headline. A title banner. So come down to text. Scrolled on, have a look at some of the banners. We have something like this, Kate. So let's move that into center. Line that up with the logo so I can delete that I maybe put something like tourism, something like that, so I can have a banner. Um, and I want to put some text into this slide. Now. One idea you could do with your picture to make it different to the main title page, you could have a gut blurring the background. This often works well if you want people to focus on the text on the foreground so I could come down to blur and I could just you can you can make it really blood, but maybe just a little bit of blood, something like that. Okay, so now you know, people were focusing more on the text. You've still got that same image we have from our cover repeating down. And perhaps I want to put a nice shape, a nice rectangle in there where my text will actually fit. So something like, yeah, it is going over the over the locus of I want to move that down a little bit, maybe make that it's smaller, can line it up. We get so you could do something like that. I want to make that more transparent as well. And I can click on here, click on T brings him texting sighs, puts sample text so that could be my example. Slide. OK, so that's what I want all my slides to look like. I want him to have a title. The top. I want the low between every corner on. I want the text to be here in this box. Very simply. What I can do is come over to the side here. I can choose the copy and then below is another slide. So again I can change out the title. I can change at the text. I can keep all the rest of the same again. I can copy that. Slide again, And I can keep building my slide slide on slide like that with same look the same feel behind each one on. There we go. You got the same picture behind, and then you've got your repeated slides following the same pattern. Once you finished one of the slides, you can see the numbers here on the side. There. The order. So So I change this one, Teoh. Um sales. Kate. I wanted to put sales here. I had the tourism one here say this is tourism. You. Why could There was like a coming. Switch them around so I can click on this little our and that will move this one into this position on Move three in position four. So it's click on there. That's what them around. So now I have sales followed by tourism. New. If I want to switch them back, I can just switch them around like that. Sales is it Now slide for tourism. You. It's like three. And if I want to get rid of a slight altogether, I just don't want tourism you at all. I can click this little trash can. I'm not just at least the page. So then I'm back to my original one. My cover, my original on my sales page. Now this technique works really well with slide shows as well as documents. If you want to produce a nice design background for your document, and you won't want that to repeat many, many pages throughout your pdf, you can do that but also works in lots of other cases, especially things like E books, for example. So I made this very quick example for an e book page, so imagine I was making a fixed layout e book was making a recipe book. Andi was gonna put a different recipe on each page. I could do something very simple like this, but my title My up a line in under here Few icons frame with a photo in, and this is where my text is gonna be. Now, if I was gonna make, say, 20 pages in the book that was gonna look like this, I wouldn't want to make the page every single time. It's all I can do is go down here, copy the page on, do that every time, and you can just, you know, delete out the picture. Change the title, but a new picture in next page corporate again. Keep adding your title, adding new picture and so on and so forth. So that's a really good way to add consistency throughout your documents. At repeating elements are repeating titles, repeating icons without having to manually put them in every single time. Right, So that's it for adding new pages and I'll speak to you in the next video
