1. Intro: Hello, everyone. My name is Florence. On this class, you will learn how to great posters in a playful, colorful style way. We're going to create three poster versions by applying different adjustments of them. First, you will start by learning to create colorful iridescent landscapes on cinema for D without any extra blogging. Then we're going to use those objects on for the shop to create the pastors. You will learn some basic tools and filter some for a shop that will help you to create upstart, colorful shapes. Then you will learn how to finalize the poster by creating a good layout for it. For this class, you will need only for a shop and cinema four D, so make sure to enroll and see the whole class. 2. Explaining the Process: you guys. So before we get started, just wanted to show you really quick what we're going to create. So first we're we will start on cinema four D to create this kind off objects up PNG images with red descent Ah, materials. And then we will come on for a shop and ah, plays them in different positions to create a good composition and ah, play around with the colors than at some wavy shapes and ah, also at typography. And we can create this kind of version. Then we will, at some filters and adjustments to create this kind of version on DA. Then we will add some shadows and lights. Ah, to create this kind of candy looking up image also Then I will just ah at this kind of typography toe add to create a good lay out of it and ah, just ah, work with the adjustments to finalize it. So I just wanted to show you like the steps that were going toe take so and now we need to start working on cinema four D. So CNN eggs, video 3. Create the Landscape: Okay, so now you're in cinema for D to create the three D landscape. And to do that, you just go to this cube right here and go on landscape on. We're going to get a default one on. The first thing that we need to do is just change the size and the form of it. Onda add the material. So to change the size, you can do it by adding the numbers here in the dimensions like X y and set. But I find it easier toe. Just use the scale tool. You can use a scale by dragging it like that, but it would change it. Ah, proportionally. So you just you can go to these yellow dots right here and ah, change its dimension based on the form that you like. So I would just drag this up and, uh, I think it's OK. Um, no, What I need to do is just, ah, click on the landscape and on the object section you will see all these other options on DA out suggested to change the width and the steps. You know that more detailed to the to the landscape. And you can also that can check this Mountie of fractional and see how it how it looks. Basically, you can just ah, play around with these 210 for example. Let's do this. 75 on da. Yeah, Let's see how it looks in different angles. And ah, now you can just change the seed so it would create different random landscapes on DA Just see what you like more. You can just keep changing it until you like something. But, um also, you can just Orender different ones and, ah, use them in photo shop and see which one looks better. So I'll just see and choose one. Okay, so I'm choosing this one, and I can always ah, change it in case I need something else. So now the next step would be to change the material. Because if we render this, we would catch us this great thing. Um, yes. We'll see in the next video 4. Adding Material: case and now we're going to create the material in Cinema four D. As I said, I'm going to create the kind of your debts and colorful material, and I will do that by using the default material that cinema for D provides. I'm not going to use any plug in such as octane. If you have octane, you can get a better result in the I have. Ah, this tutorial that explains more about your destined materials on ah octane. But for now, we're just going to create the default materials. So let's just double click on this area right here. You can go to create a new material. Now let's click on the material on DA. The most important thing that you need to work on is the reflect INTs because it will make the colorful landscape. So I'm just going to apply toe the object. You can just drag it here or place it. Ah, next to landscape right here on DA fact like this, I can see how it effects on the material on the object. Onda. Okay, so now on the reflect ins, make sure you check it. Also check the color on. We need to Goto Add on at this Backman. And as you can see, it is a reflective material. And if we're interview, we can see nothing because it needs ah so itself lives. Ah, to reflect something on DA Now we need toe change the texture. So click on this area right here on the texture and go toe effects and ah, go to Spectra. Okay, So lets her interview and that you're going to see now it looks better, but still. Ah, before I make some changes on the roughness and, uh, the brightness or other options I'm going toe at the source slide s So I was thinking to use the physical sky. I think it's easier to you, so you can just supply on the see that it looks much better now and those So by changing the angle it gets you get different results in this area, you can see that you get this kind of shadow based on where the lightest position saw you can just find Ah, the angle where the light corti reflect INTs looks better on DA render view. So I think that in my case it looks better here and now as I said, I'm going toe click on the spectral and maybe decreased a little bit the intensity on there just to interview. And also, I think I need to increase the roughness so I don't get this kind off rough and just ah, if you can see them, um, to do that, I'm just going to go back and go to roughness right here. That is 0%. I'll see how it looks. You can see how it effects the material also on the preview. So if I go to zero, you can see it's here, so I'm just going to increase it 22% on DA. Just see if it looks better. I'll try out, looks on 50% and then decide. I think 50% is to Marcelin just going back somewhere here on 24%. Now we can change the color, so we need to go to color section on DA and you can't just change it from year. I think I'm going toe get a kind off pink color. I guess you can also add the texture like if you have an image of pattern, you can add it and, uh, it will get also this kind off your destiny. Effective material on top of that. So, yeah, for now, I'm just going toe. Add that and, uh, see how it looks. Another thing you can do if you don't really like the reflectors, you can go the physical sky. Goto ah to the sun section on. You can just increase the intensity, for example. So let's make, like 200% and see how it affects the object. I think it's too much in this case, so I'm just going to leave it 100%. But just in case you want to change, if you want to change the color, you can go to this, you correction and just make it. For example, 50% on and yeah, basically what it does just changes. A hue actually changes the color preview, which means, like what color? The source of light is it was kind of yellow. Now it is kind of blue, so it affects the the whole object. I'm just going to leave it like this and ah, you know, I'm going to render it and make some variations. So then I can move tough to for a shop 5. Export 3D Landscapes: Okay, so the first thing that we need to do is just Ah, other camera. So we go to the camera. Ah, I correct. Here said the camera. And ah, you can just click on this black icon camera object on DA used these tools toe reposition the camera. You can use the left right up and down to write years. Oh, mean, zoom out O r rotate. And just so find a position that are an angle that you like so you can get the good reflective material from the object goto grander view and just see how it looks on DA You can release Ah, the camera object toe to other adjustments or see how it looks in different and girls and you can just click on it and it will come up as, ah position that you fixed it before se And now I'm going toe, um, go to render settings on DA On the output, we can change the size. I'm going to make something big. So maybe like four thousands, it's ah, three thousands. Resolution 72. Ah, you don't need to change anything else from these. Then go to save on da format. PNG make sure to check the Alpha Channel on DA before we render it, I'm going to explain to you how toe remove the background. So the physical sky background on goto filed, Just save it as at a folder that you want. Give it a name, Andi. Yet to render it you just click here. But first I'm just going to the quick on the camera on zoom in a little bit and to remove the background, you goto physical sky, right click cinema four D tags and go toe compositing Click on it on DA Here on the tax you uncheck the scene by camera Option on DA It will remove the background and it wants show. When we click Render so another thing before I click the render To make some material variations, you can click control C control, Veto Duplicate the material. Andi on the color right here. You can just change to something like do or whatever color you like. And ah, you can apply it here again. Or you can just place it right here and it will show up on the right side. Render view. And as you can see, it's ah different. Ah, color. But for now, I'm just deleting this Onda render this ah landscape. Then I'll change the seed so I can get another shape from the off the object on. Just do some variations with the with the shape of the object and the material of it. So now I'm just going toe click on the render I can and ah wait for the render to finish So we can open then for a shop So see in the next video 6. Poster 1 - Composition: case of just a final T before I move. Ah, for a shop. If you're under more than one object, make sure to go to render settings and ah, change the the name of the off the PNG because otherwise it will replace the one that you already rendered. So yeah. OK, now we're good to go on for the shop. Onda. I did some kind of examples s so I can show you what we're going to do next. So we're going to do three poster versions. The 1st 1 would be this one. So basically, we're just going to copy Paste Onda kind of do a composition, changed the colors and then at some typography to make it more as a pastor and also at these kind off wavy shapes on. After that, we're going toe Do this kind off foster where we're going toe add a kind of filter to make it to make this kind off stroke lines. Andi, After that, the final version would be this one. Ah, a darker version. And again with the typography on da on with collars. So yeah, Now they just ah create up new document. Usually I go with this size 4005 thousands. Resolution 17 72. If you want to print it, you can do the resolution. 300 color modes rgb onda I'm going to click create. So now I'm just going toe open the files that I already rendered and this is going to see Ah, there are transparent because I checked the Alpha Channel and remove the background. So now I'm just going toe. Come on, control CR Edit copy and just go to our document and based it. Don't worry about the negative space. You just try to pace the objects and try to make a good composition by pasting them one by one Onda um, working with a separation. So now I'm just going to speed up while I paced the objects. And then I will change the huge Okay, so what I did I just based it all the, uh, images and ah, try to rearrange them based on what's layer I want up from, Basically just play around with the with the layers, move them up or down on DA You know, I'm going toe change the hue at all the layers So I'm just going to start from the top on DA Just go to the adjustment layer and go to hue saturation on the If you increase the saturation, you can see that it affects Ah, all images. Also, the same thing applies for the hue. So to avoid that, you just go to layer and go to create clipping mask on This way you can ah, apply or you can make changes only toe the layer below, which in this case, is Ah, this layer right here. So I'm just going toe change the Hugh. I'm going to do the same with the the other layers, so I'm going to speed up on this process. 7. Poster 1 - Abstract Shapes: Okay, So after we changed the hue saturation, Onda made this kind of candy world. We can just ah, typography And then at some abstract shapes, kind off wavy shapes. So I'm just going to create a new layer by clicking on this hiking right here on go to type tool. Andi, I'm going toe use horizontal type tool. And then I will, uh, rotated by 90 degrees. So I'm just going to type something like playful on the command control D hold shift and do the 90 degree rotation and try to place it in the center. You can change the size too, if you don't have the latest version of photo shop unit told, you have to keep the proportions. So Okay, I'm just going to place it somewhere. And ah, make sure you click on the layer cold control. Ah, command control based if you're on a PC or a Mac and click on the background and now go to the move tool and just do the horizontal and ah, vertical ah line. So we complacent in the center on da now I'm just going to create another layer and to do those kind of wavy shapes you can just go to the US much tool right here. So if you have the blur tool, you can just right click inside like this much tool. And, um, make sure you click sample all layers because what it does is basically applies the effect on all the layers. If I didn't check the sample all layers, I wouldn't get anything because the layer right here is empty. That's why we need to check simple ears, Onda about the strength. It depends on what you like, but actually the differences. And also just get a basic brush that go circle around brush. I'm going to change the size. You can change the size based on your document or what kind of shaves you like. I think this size. Okay, so if you just click and drag, you will get something like this and, ah, the fact that it is blurry. The comes because the strength is 50%. So if you want these kind of shapes, you can keep the strength. 50% are even lower or somewhere around 50%. But usually I like, ah, the result when it is 100%. So I'm going to do it 100% and Ah, make sure you're on the on the new earlier on. Just click and drag and it will create these kind of shapes on. I like this kind of shapes more on DA. This is why I'm going to use the strength of 100%. So what I'm doing now, I'm just, ah, dragging and creating these kind of abstract shapes to kind off cover a little bit. Ah, the text. Ah, on yes, I'm going to speed up the process because I'm just going to create shapes case And I'm just going to create a new layer to apply ingredient on the, um background so you can see that these shapes this wavy shapes are separate from the background. But when we get up like when we apply the background, you can see that they're kind of mixed because, ah, the wavy shapes get callers from the background and ah, it looks nice. I think so. You know, we can just make some adjustments. Ah, like you can play only bright with brightness and contrast. Great. Like at the contrast also with a hue saturation. If you want to try different combinations of colors, but I'll just leave it as is and, ah, also the color bell ends. But anyway, I think I will just, uh, leave it as it is now because, ah, we're going to do the other versions. Two. And also try to tow had some typography on the edges to make it look more like a foster. So as young, the next video to do the second version. 8. Poster 2: Grace. And now we're going to work on the second version. On first, I'm just going to rue the whole thing off the first version. So I'm clicking on the layer above on DA by holding shift, click on the layer below and just click on this Ah group. I correct here so we can group all the the elements And I'm just going to copy lives this by holding bulky and dragging up. And now, since the the second version will be kind of the same thing the same composition, I'm just going toe, apply some effects to it. I'm just going to right click and merge groups. I can have these as, ah one layer and I'm going to duplicate it again by holding old key. So this is how we can do to get it on the the filter that I'm going to apply. Um, we need to go to field their fields or gallery on the under the artistic folder. We click on this pain stops right here and on the brush type. You just click, choose sparkle and ah, Now we're going to make some other adjustments. If you can see, we get these kind off wavy lines based on the picture. But in this case, I think there are too many wavy lines and it doesn't look really good. So we need to make some adjustments first. The first thing that you can do is just, ah, decrease the sharpness, Onda. You'll get this kind of ah, small shapes, kind of blurry looking. Andi, I just click. Ok, okay. So now you can try again. The future gallery. Ah, the same effect and tried to increase the sharpness. And let's just see how it looks. It still has these kind off wavy ah shades, but they're too much of them. So a way to fix that is the goto image adjustments and goto pasteurize on just play around with the levels. But usually I think seven or eight would look good enough. You can try them one by one and apply the effect Ah, and compare them to see which one you like more. But in this case, I'm just using the seven level. I think I chose some of you going toe, filter, filter, gallery and apply again the same effect and always again to see there are less Ah, wavy shapes. So I'm just going to increase the sharpness so they can look better. Yeah. Okay, so I think it looks Ah, pretty good. Like these kind of wavy shapes. I had this kind of abstract feeling. So now I just need to add the typography again because because, as you can see, the effects applies on the typography as well, and it doesn't look really good, so you can just go to type tool and, ah, type of gun the same thing. But also, you can just copy it from the first version group. So I'm just going toe hold old key and drag this up. Found? Yep. Okay, so it is Ah, in white color. So I think I need to change that. So it looks better. So I'm just going toe right. Click blending option on click color. Overly. Make sure the blend mode is normal. Capacity is 100% on the click. On the color on. Just choose the color that you like, or that it would look better on the It would look good on this. Ah, Buster, I'm trying to like I'm I'm choosing colors from this posture so it would match, but ah, probably a yellow color, I think. And click. OK, okay. And Ah, yeah, I think that's it for the second version. Now we will work on the third version and then work with some typography. Ah, to finalize the posture. So see in the next video. 9. Poster 3: case, and now we're going to work on the third version. And as I said, you Ah, here's an example of what we're going to do on DA Let's go to our buster. I'll just ah, group again. The second first Onda check the group checked the group below, and I'll just duplicate the group of the first version because basically, we'll just ah, at some shadow and some lights on each of the landscapes on the three D landscapes. So I'm just going to go place it above and just rename this version three. I'm going to uncheck the wavy shapes on DA. I'm going to uncheck the text. Uh, for the moment, Andi, I'll just show you the process of how it works on one landscape, and then I'll speed up at the the others, so I'll create a new layer above the landscape so called a list this icon right here and make sure ah, it has the clipping mask effect. If it doesn't, you just goto layer, create clipping mask. Now it's has released because it is already ah on the clipping mask effect. So now just make this like a black and white. We need the black collar first, So I'm just going to use the brush tool and, ah, decrease the hardness sizes based on your, uh, on your image. And I'm just going to apply this kind off shadow here. And you can, ah, like, make changes on it by going to erase tool on. That will change the size to change the hardness to 0%. And ah, you just try to kind off clear the the edges. Andi. Now I'm going to decrease the opacity, make it like, uh, 70% on. Maybe I'll use the move tool to kind of free arranges a little bit on. Now I'm going to create a new layer. Andi, get a color like based on the image that you have in this case, it is a pink objects. I'll just get pink color and use the brush toe. Um, just apply the paint color, uh, at the edges. Actually, as you can see, it is not pink because it gets affected by the hue saturation. So if you move this up, it will look pink now because it doesn't get affected from the hue situation, and you can just change the mold from normal to something like, Ah, screen or color Dodger. Ah, Liner Dodge. Whatever. Seems good, Dio. I think I'll keep it. Keep it like this. Maybe I'll change it. Change it later. Andi, I think I need to decrease this a little bit, but yeah, this is how it works. You can play around with this and see what you like more. And now I'm going to do the same thing at all the landscapes, so I'm going to speed this up. Okay, so I just seen is ah, old ah. Saying with adding the shadows on the lights on all the objects on the landscape. So now I'm just going to re apply the the text, the that says playful. And, ah, something else that you can do. In this case, I'm just going to duplicate this on duh. Get the layer and you can place it somewhere behind, uh, like somewhere here, I think. Or maybe it again to its year on and tried toe rearrange the thing. Yes. So what I mean is you can kind off incorporate the the text with the objects, and ah, tried to add some depth to it. Yeah, you can just rearrange the layers to do that. So I feel like in my case, I would need tool decrease the size of the tax too much to make that possible. Although I can ah, actually re reposition these layer. But anyway, I'll just used this text on Yeah, Now I'm just going toe finalize this posters by adding the like trying to create some negative space, like on this ah case and tried to add some adjustments to finalize the postures. So see in the next video. 10. Layout and Finalizing: case and now we're just going to finalize the posters. So first, I'll just, uh, group everything toe, organize the layers. So I have grouped the version third version the second version and first version. So now, as I said, I'm going to tow. Add the kind of negative space, Like in this case, I'm thinking toe just ah, create a new layer. Apply Ah, white color. So right clear gold A paint bucket tool by the white color Onda Just try to select a shape within un deleted. So I'm just going toe click delete on the keyboard again you see a white background. But, um, if you and check the background from here, you can see that it that it is transparent. Now I'm going toe select all the groups and ah, old old kiddo to duplicate them. And I'm going to merge groups. Ah, so I can have them as ah one layer and I'm going to uncheck the groups on let's do them one by one. So the first version I'm going toe based it and ah tried to change the size so we can place ihsaa in the center. Um, yeah, I'm going to do the same thing with the other versions. Just just try toe, okay? And now you can do, like, specific ah color adjustments to each of them. Like I'm going to uncheck this for a moment and, uh, create a hue saturation adjustment layer on go to layer. Great clipping mask so it apply. So on Lee on the layer below. And you can just change the color, the separation, the lightness or or even at other adjustments. And I'm going to try that by adding like, ah, color balance adjustments. Just try and see what looks better to you on you can we can uncheck now and see Ah, If we can make any adjustments on the first version again, remember to apply the clipping mask case. And I'm just going to create a new layer toe at typography and choose a black color goto type tool on amusing for tour a fund. I'm just going toe type like a random things. Ah, like the year. Actually, I need to plays that above the white, um, frame. So do the adjustments of the tax. You can just tell like this and go to the to the cycle, right? You and where you do all the adjustments. Andi, I'm going to tow duplicate this by holding old key on control T I'm going to zoom in so I can control it. Better control T and ah, I'm holding shift so I can reposition it in the like in a straight line. So it's paralleled the to the text above on da here. I'm going to type Ah tutorial. And I can also change the the position of it. Or if you want, you can also add the rules. If you don't see this kind of rules right here, you can go to you on go to rulers and ah, basically just drag on da You get this kind off helpful rulers that help you tool It's called place text Ah, in ah way that they look aligned or connected to each other. So, you know, I'm just going toe Add some other texter here on DA somewhere up here. Okay, so I just headed the rulers toe orientate me to get the text align better. You can always remove them, although you can just keep them in there. It's not like they're part of the picture on da Yes, I think That's it for this posture. I think the the negative space it's important to get. Ah, good. Ah, layout. Um, yeah. If you have enjoyed this tutorial till now, I'd appreciate a good review. It helps me to keep producing content on doing other tutorials. I hope you find it helpful. And I would love to see your projects and ah, see what you come up with. Maybe you you can add like some reference pictures. Maybe you can get some portrait pictures or other typography effects, so you just go and play around with them and see what you can come up with. So again, thank you for watching and see on the next tutorials by
