Hi! I'm Aga. A free spirit, a self-taught artist, a painter of imagined worlds (my favorite media are acrylics and watercolors). But before I started this imaginative adventure I was a scientist for many years - working at a university; researching new medicines to help people improve their lives and helping teach students.

I've always loved to share my skills and knowledge with others... and, having been once a university tutor, I was trained how to make complicated things easy to understand. Seeing others make progress is fun for me! It's rewarding to inspire, to motivate... and people tell me my passion's contagious.

1. Introduction: Hi, I'm Aga, and you can find me at Amazing Journey art dot com. You can find a link in the class project description below this video. You are now in the class two, in which you will learn how to paint lavender on ceramics and create beautiful hand decorated lavender sets. This class is stand alone, and you don't necessarily have to refer to the class one to complete it. However, beginning with somewhat a call or practice might be a good idea. In a way, we'll start this class from taking a closer look at the subject off the scores. Lavender. There is something exceptional in lavender. It's delicate, tiny flowers on a long things, them a beautiful car and, of course, the famous loved and their fragrance. When you apply lavender motives on white shiny ceramic background, the fact is just great. In this class, I will show you how to decorate different ceramic items. We'll begin with tea and coffee sets. I'll give you a hint of how to design your lavender porcelain. When the a viable sour face for painting is rather small, then we'll proceed with more convenient for painting plates and bowls. In the rest part, I'll keep you a few more design ideas off how to apply other patterns and colors. At the end of this course you'll have created. Try the product, which you can use as a special gift for someone in love, or to impress your guests serving them with one of a kind coffee set. Or even you can sell such self decorated ceramics at one off the local markets or online platforms like, for example, etc. Art Fire with Rwanda. So if you ever wanted to try ceramic banking and just needed some encouragement, there is the great opportunity for you to start Simply joined my class. Once you begin and experience the joy of painting on ceramics, you won't stop on the single project. I can assure you it's addictive. 2. Materials: Welcome back in this section will be decorating ceramic dishes with beautiful lavender motives. Here is the least off materials. First of all, you need porcelain or other ceramic items, which you want to decorate, preferably white. I got mine. Any care When making purchase, make sure that dishes are really ceramic and not from white hardened glass, which may look quite similar for glass. You would need different kinds of pains. Next, ceramic pains. When buying them, please with carefully the manufacturer's instructions and labels, make sure that you choose the right pains for your purposes. For instance, some pains are not meant for food contact, so they can only be used on the exterior, off dishware and caps or for decorating items not used for food at all. Like, for example, bases besides different kinds of ceramic paints may require different treatment. For example, most of the pains require curing in the open, and the baking conditions may vary from one manufacturer to another. There are also media like a critic pants that don't require his treatment at all. As for the colors, this time will be using three off them purple, green and white. Alternatively, you can create purple from blue and red and green from blue and yellow. Some manufacturers provide also special deal you and to be used to weaken a paint. If it's too thick. Next, you'll need also at least one paintbrush I'm using here the same paintbrushes says I used for what the colors. Then a color mixing played. Get also a piece of ceramic for practicing. It can be an old plate or like in this video, a ceramic tile. If you don't have anything like that, you can practice on your right. Ceramic dishes providing the points are washable before curing. Next, get some non permanent marker or fine liner. The market color should be similar to the color off lavender flowers, preferably purple. Alternatively, pink or blue, you will use it to drop. Temporary guidelines on ceramics drunk with pencil might be difficult. In this case. Make sure that the marker it's not permanent and can be easily washed out from your ceramic . You need also some water container or even better to to clean up your brushes when changing colors as well as tissue paper to drain with brushes. Some cotton. Your sticks might be handy as well for example, if you make a mistake and want to wash out some little detail, if you'd like to know what kind of supplies I'm using in this class, you can find a place that in the pdf that's it. See you in the next video. 3. Meet the Lavender: before we start painting, let's have a closer look at the subject off this course. Lavender. There is almost 40 different lavender species snow, which slightly differ from each other, for example, with the color of the flowers, which can be more purple or more blues. For this class of the reference, I used two different species of this beautiful plan. One from the city flowerbed, the other one from my balcony. As you can see, they differ in the color tone, and few also flower arrangement on stances a little bit different, plus a few more details. Still, there are features that Mike Lavender look like a lavender. Let's Jack what we have here. Long, slender, stone narrow leaves that grow in Paris. Little flowers a ranch plasters in the upper part of the stem. Additionally, at the bottom of this class, tres, there are tiny leaves called Brecht's, also growing in purse. If we took a closer look at the class tres who could see tiny flowers, which are other brats or fully developed flowers, notice that the blossoming flowers are lighter in color. Under your thoughts will try to express the scholar shadowing later in our work. That's it. See you in the next video 4. Warm Up: Here are a few things to check in practice before you start with the right ceramic stuff, remove and stickers and paper labour's from your ceramic, especially if you're paints require. Later curing in a baker, read the labels on the pains to make sure you know how to handle them. Make sure that your ceramic items are totally clean and try otherwise. The point may not hold. Now let's check the colors. Start with the purple like in the case of water colors, you need two different shades of it lighter, one for the first layer of flowers and then the more intense possible for the second layer to get the lighter shade. Makes purple with white. If you don't have the ready purple paint, you can always makes it up yourself from blue and red. - By changing the ratio of these two colors, you can simply modify the final shade. Now the green again. You can use either ready color or created yourself from blue and yellow. If you already let's practice your strokes on your training. Ceramic item. Drop a few guidelines using a non permanent marker, then find the first layer of flour class tres using the lighter shade of purple. If your point is still sick, you can add a drop off you and to send it up after the paint is dry, applied a second layer off the more intense Karpal. Next, wash out the market guidelines with the wedded cotton, your stick or tissue paper and find the remaining elements steps and leaves. If you want to make the lavender look more like the full blossom, that's spots off lighter purple. You can slightly modify the purple shade by, I think a little bit of blue, then finished the flowers with that accents. Remember, also above tiny leaves. Now we can proceed to painting the actual ceramic dishes. 5. Project 1 - Tea and Coffee Sets: Let's start with this nice coffee set. It's already clean, but I'm just wiping it one more time to remove any dust, begin with the concept. Have a look atyou, ceramic and think off a pattern that will suit best the shape and a viable surface. For example, here D a viable painting. Correa is not large. So instead of painting the entire lavender tweaks, I'm going to apply on Lee the upper flowering part of them. On my set. Start withdrawing temporary guidelines because the marker is not permanent. You can easily wipe it out whenever you make a mistake. Then prepare your lighter shade of purple and paint the flower class. Tres makes the colors directly before they use to prevent drying off the pants on the mixing plate. If you want to save your time and materials instead of painting Kwan ceramic item after another, apply. Given multivision and given color on all off the items it once then do the same with the next motive in another color and so on. After the paint is dry, apply the second layer off the more intense purple. - Now let's prepare grain for stands and leaves tow. Avoid contaminating the paints with each other. Remember to wash and dry the brush between using different cars. A medical. Do you want to make the paint a little bit more liquid before painting the stems will shall the temporary guidelines. Otherwise the purple color of the marker could contaminate the green color of the paint. With the flowers already painted proper, placing off stamps shouldn't be a problem even without the guidelines. - At the end, you cannot some more green accents once you pain the ceramics, follow the manufacturer's instructions for curing them in the oven. I wish you a lot of joy with the first project in Syria. In the next video will be decorating ceramic items with larger painting surfaces. 6. Project 2 - Plates and Bowls: in this part will be decorating plates and bowls. Let's start with plates. We have a nice fled and large surface for painting. This time we have enough space for the entire lavender tweaks. As usually, we start with the temporary guidelines. I'm trying to follow the natural round shape off the plates. The bull is a little bit different, however. Let's stick to the similar pattern, like on the plates. It's gonna be a nice lunch or dinner, said a little lavender mart. If inside the ball will complete the design. If it in the next video will experiment a little bit with other designs as well as are the cars, see you there. 7. Project 3 - Experiment with Patterns and Colors: in the progress lectures, I presented you just a few possibilities of how to decorate different ceramic dishes with lavendera motives. There is so many ways you can use the skills you've already achieved to create beautiful products. Let your imagination fly. Experiment with different designs, different colors and shades. For example, how about applying the lavender motive on the entire plate surface? Or how about adding some blossoming flowers and a little bit different? More blue shade way. Try adding different color accents. - I find first sweet the combination off Harper with pink, which you can easily angered by mixing red and white. Once you're done with painting, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Even a further steps are required to fix the pains. That's it. I hope this course is just the beginning of the adventure with ceramic painting. I wish you a lot of joy in creating amazing products. 8. Final Notes: Thank you for taking my course.
