1. Intro: and thank you for checking out this video. What if I told you you could make your own creamy body butter in less than 30 minutes and you only need a few ingredients. What you're need is coconut oil, sweet almond oil or your favorite carrier oil. Could be vegetable oil, even some city shea butter B is lax era root powder or cornstarch, your favorite essential oil or fragrance oil or boat optional. You could color it with recovering or or vegetable dye, and you're going to need a place to store your finished product. Could be a cosmetic jar. It could be a mason jar, or you can keep it in the bowl that you pour the product into. So what are you waiting for? Do you want to learn how to do this? I hope to see you in the next video. 2. Step 2: What you'll need for your body butter.: Hey there and welcome back. So I promised to show you how to make creamy body butter. In this case, I'm going to be using both vanilla, an almond oil, and I created those. I created a product called Almond Biscotti by using both vanilla and the almond. And that smells like a amaretto. And it's very nice. What you want you need is in a sauce pan. You're gonna want to heat up stuff on medium heat. And this is where we get to have some fun. You don't want to add a cup of coconut oil. I got my coconut oil here. You can measure it out. I've been doing this a long time. I can eyeball it, But for your feeling, I'm going to my foot out. No, a cup of coconut oil. Plus Ah, a little bit of Shea butter and my carrier oil and such. It makes 1.5 4 ounce cosmetic jars that r P E. T. Right here So the oils do not eat through the plastic. There's my 2/3 cup here. Just gotta add another third that you I've been doing this since 2015. I was a manager at McDonald's, and I decided that I wanted Teoh start my own business to bring in a little extra income. Just do it Doing business as license Teoh. Help bring in a little bit more. I started my own website and I fell in love with this. This is what I love doing. So I got my coconut my own There we're going to add Ah, fourth of a cup of your favorite carrier oil. In this case, I'm out of my olive oil. So I'm just using vegetable oil. I don't lot of trial and error things. I I've learned how to uh I learned what recipes work for me and I looked online. I did some research. I was wonder, How did you get it from? How do I prevent it from melting? Because coconut oil has a melting point of 70 degrees and I was often wonder what if I X don't live in my purse in my car? What happens? Well, he's like these wax is a great emulsifier, and bi flex has a melting point of 130 degrees. So that kind of took care of my my worries there and for my body wonders. I put three tablespoons of beeswax. This is my bees wax that I get from Amazon, and I tend to like to add a little bit of shea butter. It brings it a little. It's a little sick, so I'm just a little bit maybe two tablespoons work. That's all you need. And he added to your pot and you wait for its amounts. Look, this is done melting. We're gonna put in addition, you're going on a lot of cool, and then, uh, we'll add our oils later. You never want to act oils when they're on the heat that will burn them, and it's very important to keep them out of the your mixture until you're ready to add them . Which is usually when you want to mix it together after it's done cooling. So we're gonna let this sit on the stove and we're gonna love it. Melt, and I'll be back in the next video to show you the next step. See, there 3. Step 3: Letting it cool.: Hey there. Welcome back. This is only oven for about five minutes, and it is completely here. Let me move this down a little bit. This completely melted, you know? And now I'm gonna show you what to do next. Nice mixture of our oils and beeswax. I still have not out of the fragrant soil. I'm waiting until the very end for that. Now you're gonna put your going toe. Put this in a pool like this, and you're gonna want to cool it. So you can either let it sit on your counter for about 45 minutes or to speed things up. You can put it in the fridge or the freezer. Usually I like to put it in the freezer for five minutes. You don't wanna wait too long, but if you do wait too long and it's so it's too hard to mix, No worries. You can just heat it up again and start over. No word. So I'm gonna put this in the freezer and I will see you in the next video. 4. 15 minutes later (I misspoke when I said 5): Hey, welcome back. So I let my mixture sent in the freezer for about 15 minutes and it came out. It's still a little warm, but it was just It was just soft enough so I could put my rubber spoon through it and mix it that way. I did have a an electric mix there at one time, but it broke because it was eight years old and I have yet to buy another one. So I'm just using my rubber spoon, and I am going to add my oils and corn starch. Now corn starch is to cut the greasy nous down because using these organic oils, it's gonna feel a little bit more grazing. Some take a little bit more time to absorb into your skin. But if you use corn starch or air route part of powder, that will cut down the breeziness and you just need a teaspoon or two. And now this out. This batch made about eight ounces, and I'll be able to put into my my jar here and just a bit. I'm gonna add my moment. Couple drugs a moment, but five there and about five drops of vanilla, depending on your preference. Some people like really strong, pungent sense. I noticed that a A lot of the people have made this four on giving your ways, gifts and such that they don't mind that it's more like, not so overpowering because that some some oils can be very overpowering. So usually I do between five and 10 drops of essential oil and depending on the brand to that, that is a lot of it. Now. This one is fabulous, Franny Essential Oil from L. A. And then this is a fragrance. Oil is on almond by eternal essence, and those are really good for bath and body products. If you go one Amazon under the reviews that tells you what, it's really good to put it and it makes it up. Robitaille. And then I'm going to just add it to my, uh, cosmetic John here, And you can put dye, vegetable dye or much vegetable dye or food coloring in your products if you want. Now. I didn't do that for this one, but it naturally comes out like a beige color because of the her shea butter. There we go. It's nice and their sets on there now in the next video, I'm gonna show you the label that I'm about done. I'm going to put on there and talk about your class project, so I'll see you there by 5. Class Project & Final Thoughts: Hi and welcome back. It wasn't that easy. It doesn't take much time at all. You can make body butter in less than 20 minutes. And here is my cosmetic jar. And I have my label here. This was made by a friend of mine. She a friend. One friend designed it for me and the other one creative labels for me. And you can dio whatever you like. This is just my little signature thing that I dio You can write the tag up this little tags and do it that way. This one. I just put my little label on there, and you can do whatever you want. You can sell them. You can give them away as gifts which I love to do. I love giving away my crafts and in sharing it with the world. That's why did this video This is a lot of fun.
