Project Description

You are about to start a new embroidery project and I can tell exactly how you feel: excited, maybe a little bit anxious but happy. I hope this class inspired you and I'd love to see your own hand embroidery cacti.

You can use my patterns and color charts or you can set free your imagination and create your own cacti! You'll only get used to the technique by practicing and practicing and remember to have fun along the process.

1. Start by preparing your materials. Choose a light cotton fabric and the thread colors you want to use in your embroidery. Use a hoop, a needle and a needle threader (if you need to) and remember to have a pair of scissors on hand.

2. Transfer your design and start stitching. Play around with different stitches you've learned, color threads and number of strands. Once you're done stitching, finish the back of your hoop and enjoy your creation.

3. I'd love to see your work in progress and final class project in the gallery so we see your improvements.

4. Please don’t hesitate to share your progress or finished hoop on Instagram or Facebook tagging @hoopsandexpectations or using the hash- tag #hoopsandexpectations
