Project Description

Recreate a dish from a foreign culture you've experienced.

ASSIGNMENT

Faithfully recreate a dish from a foreign culture you've experienced, either in travels or at a restaurant. Research that dish to understand what you like about it, and really try to get to the essence of that dish culturally and historically. Then, make that dish yourself, without resorting to fancifying it. The point is actually not to put your own spin on it. This is instead about deep curiosity, research, appreciation of history, and understanding. You have know the rules before you break them.

DELIVERABLE

Share a photo and brief description of your final, recreated dish. A completed project includes:

  • name and culture of your dish
  • reason why you chose your dish
  • description of your research process
  • photo of your dish
