The videos are really well made and Emily herself is personable and very easy to follow as she talks. The exercise itself is great in its simplicity and it really forces you to think about that first line. I think it's a really good solution to writer's block as well as a solid practice for day to day living. Definitely something I'm thinking of implementing permanently. Emily also introduced two authors I likely wouldn't have otherwise considered which was a really nice surprise!

This series is short, fun and entertaining! I love the exercises and especially appreciate the tips. Very helpful!
If nothing else, this helps frame your journal entries in a certain way! More than likely, though, it will jar you out of a funk or some sort of rut that you're in. I especially like the "gratitude writing" example and may want to write that way for 10 days, 30 days or even the rest of my life. Who knows? I am grateful that I learned so much in this course, it's like being given a cigarette lighter that can light a thousand candles from a single flick.
