1. Introduction done: Hello, everyone. My name is marching Mikos, and it's a pleasure to introduce you. My photo shops, Poor tree touch occurs. For three years, I've been doing many tutorials on YouTube, from basic quick tips to more advanced manipulations. Finally, I decided to get a bit higher in my educational career, and that's how I made this cars in this over one hour curves. I'm going to show you how to do creative sport retouch. Every step is separate, so there's no cows. As you can see in many other tutorials or curses, I can say it's difficult to find such an order in curses you have seen till now. In a few lessons, like camera editing, basic skin, retouch color, gradin and orders, I will show you how from average looking aim it get fantastic full of dynamic sport images . Get this cars and you won't be disappointed 2. Sport camera raw done: in the first lesson. Before I start editing in photo shop, I want to do some corrections in camera. As you can see, that's the picture I'm going to start with its The picture without any correction, is the clean or our picture. And I just wanted to show you the picture I'm going to start with. And now I can close this cause Anyway, I'm going to start my project from camera editing. So open for the shop and we're going to get there through the photo shop. So creek file toe open, image in camera, then browse Enbridge, cause we have to find our picture and bridge. Click, browse Enbridge and find location off the picture you're going toe work with on your computer. I have this picture in my stocks. Does the picture cold sport on the right side, you have all properties on off your image, so click right on the selected image and then open in camera. And here we go. Now, The picture I showed you before is in my camera. And before you start to do anything in camera, you have to know how you want. Your picture looks at the end off your work for sure. I know. I want my picture. My project to be detailed, sharpened, dramatic and not so saturated because I want this cold turns on this picture. So here we are. We going to start with setting our temperature on this project. So I'm going to take down some temperature minus 13 maybe minus 15 but not to call. Just a little bit to take down some of this summer colors, the Santa colors as well as I'm going to add a little bit off this magenta color. I'm going to skip this part exposure contrast. We can do all of this in photo shop, but there's one part which is quite important for me and its clarity. I'm going to bring up some clarity. You can see the difference I'm going toe have clarity. Maybe around between plus 15 plus 20. And as I said before, I don't want this image to be too saturated. So I'm going toe, take down some vibrance down toe around minus 40 and I'm going to do similar think with separations, but only upto around minus 15. And I think that's all right. If I'm going to think this image is still too saturated. Later in the photo shop, I can do some corrections, so let's go to town curve and in turn, cure. It's up to you. But actually, I don't have to do anything in turn killed. If you think there is not enough highlights, I think we can bring up just a little bit. Holla highlights plus five six. It depends which image you have. If you have similar image, I think it's really good to bring up some highlights. Next step in camera is detail, and this part is quite important for me because, as I said at the beginning, I want this picture to be really dated if we're not going to use any plug ins in photo shop , which is not always good idea. But in this project, I will not use any plug ins to make your job easier to make this occurs. Available for everyone, even for people which doesnt have plug ins is very important to add some sharpening in camera and in photo shop. So I'm going to zoom this image a bit to show you the difference in project. After I'm going to add some shopping, I'm going to add some amount. As you can see, it's not a big difference, but our eyes. This eyes area is a bit more detailed. Of course I'm going to add some details as well. It's not a huge difference, but it's going toe make our eyes more shiny, more dramatic. And under days you have noise reductions. But the think I recommend to be really careful with nice reduction because if we go in tow at too much noise reduction to my much laminates, this image looks fake. It looks like some kind off a mature retouching job. So we cannot just a little bit off remnants, uh, to our noise reduction to not destroy our work we made with sharpening. And after you finish with this whole process in camera, with this short process, we can open our image in photo shop. But before we go into the disc, take this son under the picture cause we have to check all our settings before we going to do this. So click this sign that a bits channel in this image here you have a resolution off the image and they think we're interested in Is this small box it has to be checked open in photo shop are smart objects because I'm going to open this picture as a smart object. So select this box click OK, and then open object. This project this picture has really huge resolution. Um, so if you working, remember toe have huge resolutions is very important, even if it's difficult sometimes for our computers we have toe have huge resolutions, images and here we go. We opened our product and here we go. We opened our project in photo shop as a smart object, as you can see and they're small difference between this picture and the picture, which was 10 minutes ago. Before I start my editing in camera, the colors are not so saturated anymore. The red color, it's not so strong, it much more suitable for us at the moment. It's much more pleasant for our eyes. And I think now we can start editing in photo shop after the small correction in camera. So since the second lesson, we start working in photo shop on this image 3. Curves sport done: we are slowly moving on with color gradin and after selective color, I like to cross processed this image a little bit using curves. It's fantastic tool, and it's going to increase contrast on the image. It's going to add some drama, and I'm going to increase some heavy colors thes bluish anti yellowish colors and after days, this image going to look really incredible. The colors will be heavy and very dramatic, so let's open adjustment layers once again and then choose curves in edge. The moat I'm going to bring down shadows are little bit. It's going too dark and our image, as you can see on the shadows area all the background and black parts off the image and bring up some highlights in our Jimmy mood as well as you can see, we took downs and shadows. Our shadows area are a big darker, and we bring up highlights. For example, in the face. It's going to increase the drama on the image after energy be mood. I'm going to change into red, and I'm going to do very similar things right now. I'm going to take down the red colors from the shadow area like background coast as you can . Not just the colors are pretty much bluish, so it's right decision to take down red colors from the bluish cars from the shadows area and bring up red colors on the highlights area. So very much similar. Think toe, the urgent demoted. This time we increase the red color or took down some red colors from the image. And after red, I'm going to skip green mud and work with blue. The reason why off course I'm going toe increase on the shadows area with blue colors bring up a little bit, but not so much. But don't make this curve care of like before. They just bring up a little bit. Blow colors on day Midge. And then I'm going to take down blockers from highlights area. And as you can see, it gave me this really nice, beautiful effect. It actually this blue mood made this image a bit heavy. Of course, we have to find the the way it looks the best we can increase a bit more blue color, and right now it looks really heavy. But for me, this effect it's still a little bit too strong, so I'm not going to live opposite at 100%. But I'm going to take this down as much as I'm going to think it's right. Maybe something on the middle, maybe around 50%. For me it it looks very interesting as you kind of see very nice blue color on the background after curves. I'm going toe open curves once again and I want to increase that heavy mood a little bit more once again. So I had to work once again with curves. But this time, as you can see, I bring up blue colors and they made I bring up the curve on very left side and take down a little bit on the highlights area on the very much right side, as he concedes, very heavy now. And we have this beautiful yellow light quit going to looks like which looks actually like evening event light and thats effort I really like. So now we are ready toe close curves and, of course, bring down or Pacifica's. In this case, this effort might be a little be destructive on our quality, so bring it up and at just a little bit off this ethic. If you take down opposite. You think this ethic is not strong enough? Of course, you can work a bit more with this to increase the effect. It's very small, different but very important for me in this case. So we have two curves layer. But I have to say I'm not finish it the third step in my cross process I'm going to add granted map. So once again, clearly small art. I don't want any strong blue color, just soft, some kind off, slowly going in tow green color, but not too much like this one. And for highlights, I'm going to choose very soft, creamy color exactly like this one. That's something I was looking for. Then press OK. We can close everything. And now, of course, the effect is too strong. This grand map is too strong. We don't want this. It looks not well. It looks a bit destructive, not a big destructive. So we have to take down capacity long way down between 20 or 30% off course. If you like the strongest affect, you can bring it up a little bit more. But I don't like this because at the end, if I'm going to think the colors are not right, it gives me some opportunity to fix the colors at the end. That's why I prefer toe just a little bit off Gradin map. And if I'm going to want some strongest colors at the end, I'm going toe at some more Gradin maps. So after we finish this part, select all of the layers once again all of the year layers we were working with in this less on control G or command G. And I'm going to call this cross process. And as you can see this two lessons first selective color and then cross process with curves. We're all about color. Gradin. That's the section off my color. Gradin. This to lessen. So now, to save some space, I'm going toe select these two groups and put this into one group which I'm going to call color Gradin. So once again, Contra G or Commander Gee, if working on Mack and now this group, I'm going to call color Prodi. 4. Prepare project done: before we start to do any editing in photo shop, we have to prepare our product for future work. As always, After a few steps, our project might get a bit messy. So to make our work easier, we have to keep everything clear. I'm straight after editing in camera and now I'm going to do some corrections for my project. And I'm going to do this kind of corrections all the time during these cars. At first we have to open our row. Picture the picture I showed you before I started with that. Is there a picture? And I'm going to move this picture to my project my project resist now called sport editing . Place this in the middle just like this, and then move this layer on the bottom in my case, under the layer called Sport. And after this we can do some simple corrections here for this layer. I'm going toe change the name for or regino us. It's just orginal image I started with and for the layer cold sport I'm going toe change the name for camera. As I was working on this picture on this layer before in camera and to keep everything clear. As I said before, I'm going to place every step off my work in groups. So the first layer I'm going to place into the group press control N G. Or if you're working on Mark Comment and G here, going off course renamed this as You like it, I'm going to call this original. And now we know this is my orginal image I started with and for their layer called camera. I'm going toe open Another group control G or Commander. Gee, if you're working on mine in this layer, I'm going to call camera. And she's now, as I said before, every less on every step I'm going to put into the group's. It helps to keep my work much easier. It helps to keep my work clear. So after we finish this, we are ready toe start, Um, our editing. And now we can close their our picture 5. Basic retouch sport: after we prepare everything toe work with photo shop, we can move on with editing and the first part off my editing. The first part off my work with for the shop well before cast on basic retouch by saying Basically touch. I think about two things. The first thing is basic skin retouch, but as you can see, this image is really great. We have young models. They don't have too many wrinkles. They don't have too many blemishes, so we don't have so much work to do. If you have a different kind of image, ridges are very possible. Maybe models are a bit older. Maybe models have more wrinkles and blemishes. Your world will be a bit longer than mine. But I show you all of the tools you have to use to do basic skin retouch. And the second think about basic retouch is we have to find on the image on the spots, which doesn't look really nice on the rest part off the image, in my case garni pods. I'm not sure if you can see this right now, so I will zoom this a bit, as you can see on my knee pads I have a lot off white spots and actually doesn't look well . This sport might make our work difficult later on. After I would increase some details, it might look that my image is a bit noisy. So the thing I have to do, I have to clean up all of the white spots toe, make this need parts. Looks pretty much clean. Off course I don't have to cover. I don't have toe make this new patch. Looks like brand new because it won't look natural. Its port image. We need some drama, but on one thing we have to cover the white spots, which actually doesn't look well and might make our work difficult. So let me start. Um, from there he parts it will be the first part I'm going to work with. So two days we have to create new layer. And I'm going to call this layer need part Kneepads cleanup and to clean days. Of course, you can clean T shirts or something different. It depends which kind of image you have, but pretty much always. We're going to use the same tools which is called killing brush tool. So let's zoom this picture a little bit more and the think about healing brush toe, the bigger our brushes. It's pretty much easier toe cover all of the white spots. But if closer to the edge is, we are, it's better to use smaller size of the brush because, unfortunately, it might look not well. And let me give you an example to cover this toe, clean our images in healing brush tool. We have to press old click next to the white spot. And, as you can see, if our brush is too big, sometimes it can copy rest off the part of the imagery situate I don't like actually, in this case is a little bit off the grass, so if we work in close to the edge is, it's better to use smaller size off the brush. So now let's start with this. Anything the size is, I think a big, big so press all. And as you can see very easily, we can cover the white sports. Nothing more simple as just concedes, not complicated. And as I said before, when we come in close to the Edge is it's better to smaller size of the brushed. Even more smaller than this and Purcell's and cover. And it looks as you can see, very natural. We didn't are copied apart from the rest of the image, and it looks pretty much well. So we have to do the same thing on the both need. Pat out and click next to the white spot and then click on the white spots Took over Thesis . So let me do this right now. Let me clean both off the knee pads and I'm going toe speed up this video B do not make you to board. - And here we go. As you can see, we covered most off the or, I think all of the white spots. As you can see, I think right now it looks so much better. We don't have this ugly, shiny lives this wide sport. So our image looks much more cleaner, much cleaner and still natural Cause as we can see, these nipples doesn't look like brand new but are just clean we don't have dispatched. That might make our work too difficult in the future. So second part off our basic retouch is actually basic skin retouch. And to do this, I'm going to use different will, which is fantastic toe. Probably the best tool you can use to remove wrinkles or some other a little bit browning blemishes, as you can see. As I said before, I don't have too many wrinkles, but still, I'm going to show you the tool I'm going to show you. Fantastic method, how to remove all the wrinkles and all black blemishes. Most of the people using hearing brushed o R Stamp tal, but I'm going to use as something different. Actually, I'm going to stamp to, as I say, as mentioned Stamp tal. But I'm going to do something totally different that people usually used to do so in this case. Press out control shift. Andy, if you're working on Mark, press out commend Shift and Iverson you are. And now I'm going to call this layer retouch wrinkles. I'm not sure if I a spell this right. I hope it's right blemishes. So I just clone stamp tool. But as you can see, my moat is not normal, but my mode, it said us a lighten set opacity around 50% to keep everything look natural since the size of the stamp. Of course, on the Crown stamp, too. What, and clone the part next to the wrinkle you want to remove and just paint on the wrinkle. As you can see. Just perfect. We don't do anything complicated. We just a paint with white, actually. But the wrinkles have are pretty much dark color, so only one think we have to do it. We actually paint with lights and weak over all of the black parts. As you can see, there's not no need to do this, actually, but I'm going to cover some of the wrinkles, which I think's going toe looks a little bit better here a little bit more. That's why I said opposite at 50% because I think if we would set at 100% it would look to fake it. So, as you can see, I discover all of the on black parts and take a look for the result. As you can see, we just cover the black parts, which may cover more than look tired and a bit older. And other model is actually a bit different. She doesn't have this kind of wrinkles, but on her face there's some other things I'd like to fix, which I think doesn't look so well. As you can see, she has slows off these brownie sports, and I want to cover this. At first I'm going to cover a little bit here, this black spot and then I'm going toe cover this black sports on her forehead. So the thing I'm going to do now, I think capacity 50% might be a bit too strong. So now I'm going to change the opacity down to 30%. I think it should be right. I'm going toe, make this clown stamp a bit bigger, and once again, out and pains will slide after we paint with flight after repent with light, all of this black spot they're going toe just disappeared. So I think it's really grateful. As you can see, it is the best tool to do this. We don't have to cover, and I think we just painted flights and this light going to cover all of the family spots on the face. It's the best tools to remove wrinkles is the best tool to remove any are the dark spots and it's really great for every kind of the means. Once again, I'm using very soft capacity. So even if I'm going to cover quite many things, it still looks very natural. Inter spending with flights And there you go. There's not such a huge different, but as you can see, you can see there's more lights on the forehead off my left model and this forehead looks much better. Much younger, much cleaner. And of course, I think some wrinkles here, so that would be done. I think that's my first part off work with photo shop base retouch cleaning up off oddly spots from the image and cleaning up skin. Basic skin. Retouch. So after we finish selling these two layers and then control N g or comment energy, if you're working on Mark to put everything into the group, and I'm going to call this group basic retouch. 6. Dodge burn done: so we sharpen our image using really fantastic method. So now it's timeto work with lights a little bit off course, we go into Dutch and burn. This image doesn't burn. It's not only great with sports images, it's fantastic with fashion images or it's really great to use even with very basic portrait retouch. So what actually we doing? By dodging and burning by dodging, we're going to improve the lives. We paint on all of the bright areas off the image to improve the lights. As you can see, my bright areas are like faces off the models. A little bit shirt in body parts, Kneepads. So all of these areas I'm going toe Dutch a little bit. It's going to improve the light and about burning. We doing exactly the same things. But we've shadow where us with the black areas. So by barely income going toe, add some burn on the shadows aerial image and as a result, well got really fantastic dynamic image. So let's start our dodging and burning off course. You have Dutch and barren toe in photo shop, but there is no need to use this because simply create new layer. I'm going to call this layer Dodge, and I'm going to use a brush white color off the brush, and I'm going to use capacity between five and 10%. And on this layer I called Dutch. I'm going to change the opacity. Inter overly. Now let's zoom this image a little bit because I'm going to start from the face off. Let's change the size of the brush at first and add some lights, but not too much on the face or young. As you can see, the light is very soft. It doesn't change too much a little bit on the neck. As I said, the lights on the face area are pretty clear, and after this we're going to improve eyes, lives and her. I'm going to zoom a little bit more 10th the size of the brush once again to make this suitable for the eyes, I'm going to change the opacity, bring up to 9% and now make the ice re nice, dramatic, bright, the same about leaps, but not as much as about the eyes, cause if we improve leaps, too much is going to look like after plastic surgery. And, of course, we don't want this with the same amount we can improve. Her is going to add some dynamic into the her and improve the details a little bit. Let's check how it looks right now. You can compare how the face did before and how it looks right now. It's really bright, so now it's time for body parts. Once again, I'm going to change the opacity back to 5% and go into Dutch body parts and parts and shirt as it's going to take a few minutes and do not make you bored. I'm going to speed up the video a little bit during my dodging and burning after we finish with dodging, creating layer and the new layer I'm going to call there and this time we're going to do exactly the same thing. Instead of using white color of the brush, we're going to use black color of the brush. And as I said before, now we going to paint on all of the black areas off the image to improve the shadows. Course change blended month from normal in tow, overlay and paying on the shadows area the same as before. All the work is about to improve contrast a little bit and at some dynamic until this image . So I'm going to speed up once again. - After we finished dodging and burning. Select these two layers press control or command N G to put both of them into one group. I'm going to call this group Dutch and burn. And there you go. We can check the result. As you can see, we improved lights quite much. If you think the result is too strong, you always can change opacity a little bit. You always can bring capacity down to the results you're happy about. 7. Selective color done: as we finished our basic retouch. It's time for colors. So this section is all about color Gradin. And in the first lesson of this section, I'm going to talk about selective colors. And of course I'm going to work with selective corals. But before I'm going to do this, I have to take down some separation from the image. Costil. I think the colors are too strong, especially the red colors off uniforms, so select adjustment layer and take down saturation toe minus 35. It gives us this really cold and muddy color, and now we are ready to work with selective colors. For those off you which have never been working with selective colors, it might sound pretty much confusing, but the think I have to say selective colors. It's one off the best possible tool you can find in Photoshopped toe work with photography , and it's really great toe toe edit colors in our pictures, especially the pictures like I'm working with so click adjustment layer once again and I'm going to to selective color. So what is actually selective gross. It's not really complicated, selective colors, of course. It's a tool that allows you to cross planned your individual color channels using sliders within photo shop. So what does it mean? This actually allows you to add some bluish called core interviewer shadows to increase them and at some warm colors, for example, into your highlights area like face or hunt Off course, we are editing very specific image. We're looking for cold colors for cold and dramatic effect. So actually, we go in tow out pretty much blue color in tow. Everything, and we're goingto increase some off the drama on the uniforms. And I want to change a little bit off this red colors off uniforms. So after we opened selective colors, we going to start with friends. Why I'm starting with Fred's answer is pretty much obvious. As you can see, my models have red uniforms. It depends on the picture. If you have yellow uniforms off course, it's good to start with yellows, and you can choose pretty much the same set ICS as amusing in reds. So I'm going toe, add a little bit more sound. The reason why, because I want to add some cold color into the uniforms, and after this I'm going to bring up a lot off magenta around 35%. And as you can see, it changed the color off uniforms, and I found this color's much more interesting than before. After that, I'm going to take them some yellow clothes from this Costil. I want to increase this really nice dramatic color. After this, I'm going to go to yellows and I'm going toe increase yellow colors. I don't have too many yellow colors on this image in this image, but I'm going toe. Add around 40% to make face off the models and like a little bit warmer after yellow. So I'm going to science and the reason why I want to work a little bit with the background and make this Bagram even more colder. Some going toe at around 30% for science and nearly 40% for Magenta. I'm going to skip yellow and black after science. I'm going to ski pressed off the colors and go straight in Tono trials in no trials is the most general. Anything off our colors, which is very much important because it's going to give you the general core off the image and general character of the image, as you know I want the colt image, which I'm saying all the time. So I'm going to add about 5% for science. It's going to change this image a lot, so I'm not using huge amount of percent. And I'm going toe take down yellows out. Eight, maybe 9%. As you can see, it made my image really called. So that was something I was looking for, the cold, dramatic image. So we get in inter effort we were actually looking for. And, of course, after we finished editing with selective cars after we finished our work with selective colors, we have to put all of this into the group control or commend N G. And I'm going to call this look group selective color. 8. Final touch done: and here we go. In our last lesson about final touch about our final efforts are final futures on the image to improve a little bit, colors and atmosphere for those a few who use plug ins like Topaz details all coral fxpro. That's the right time to use them to improve colors or if you you stop. As details toe, improve the defense on the image. I'm going toe work a little bit with colors. As you can see, the colors for me are a bit to row, especially Bagram. The blue color is a big toe row, a bit to call too strong, so I'm going to do some corrections to make this image a bit warmer, a bit more pleasant to look at. At first, I'm going to add Gradin. Map change, Blending modes into color. I'm not a huge fan to use its soft light or overlay because it's a bit distracted for me, and I'm going to truth for shadows. Very soft, bluish color. Not so strong as before. It has to be a bit warm color and for highlights area. I'm going to use soft, creamy color. Let's say like this one, it's OK and then bring down opacity quite much even down to 12% around 10%. I would say it's OK. It's a very small difference, but the image is a bit warmer and this gradient map works. We perfect with our lives. We are in previous, less on after graduating map. I'm going toe work with levels many people use in curves at the end, but cross processing this image too often It's a big destructive. I don't want toward with RGB and weigh in the vote. So I'm going to go to Red Channel and in Red Channel. I'm going to add some off this red colors on the highlights area and maybe a little bit cold colors to make them work together. After this small correction in red, I'm going to go in the Blue Channel and in Blue Channel. I'm going toe add a little bit more off this Colt effect into the faces. Maybe they were a bit too warm. And then I'm going to add some of this yellowish colors to make this picture really warm, as you can see. Take a look how it looks like before that our levels correction this image was very row. After we add this, the colors are really nice warm, and it's really nice to look at this. So that's it. Let's put these two layers into the group Control G or Command G. And I'm going to call this final. So that's our final results for me. This image looks incredible. We improve contrast, we improve details, we improve colors off the image. Just take a look. How this image look before we started everything. Now, before I started, I thought this image looks OK. But after I finished my anything, I think we can all agree that the image was started with was horrible. So thank you for watching. Thank you for being with me during this curse.
