1. Introduction: This tutorial is going to explain to you how beneficial for your accounting business is to create a website. You are going to understand the main difference between a multi-page web site and a single-page website. I am going to show you the main components that you're accounting website should have. And after this introduction to the world of websites, I am going to teach you step-by-step how to create a stunning accounting website in a few minutes on your own. Of course, you can apply my easy-to-follow tips to create a website for any business. 2. Importance of an online presence of your accounting business: Bill Gates says, if your business is not on the internet, then your business will be out of business. And I completely agree with these words. We live in a digital age and all businesses are affected, and accounting makes no exception. There is no excuse for not having a website. If you want to have a successful accounting business, your online presence is a must. Let's assume if someone is looking for accounting services, what do you think they will do? Of course, they will type on their browser accounting services and see the results. By doing research online, people hope they will find the most suitable provider of accounting services. If you have a well-designed website, it is likely potential clients to choose exactly your services. But if your accounting firm doesn't have a website, your potential clients will definitely choose the services of your competitor who is already an online presence. A website is something like a business card where your potential clients can find everything about your accounting business and can reach out to you 24 hours, seven days a week. They get information about the accounting services you offer, what the prices of your services are, and how they can contact you. Having a website that promotes your accounting business will definitely help you build trust with potential clients and encourage them to do business with you. The good news is that you can build a beautiful website on your own. You don't need some specific tech and coding skills to create an eye-catching website for your accounting business. As an accountant, you definitely work with accounting software. This means that you are tech savvy enough to work with any website builder. I am going to show you how to build an accounting website using a website builder with features like drag-and-drop, a visual editor, and numerous widgets. You just need to follow the tips I am going to give you in this tutorial. And in the final, you will be able to build an accounting website on your own. 3. Multi-page accounting website - part 1: In this video, I am going to show you the structure of a multi-page accounting website. I am going to show you the most important pages you need to include in your multi-page web site to have really successful online presence. Of course, you can create as many pages of your accounting website as you want. Multi-page web sites are these were clicking on a link takes you to a new page. If you choose to build a multi-page website, you should have at least a homepage About page, Service page, and contact page. The only advantage of the multiple page website is the opportunity to include more content related to your accounting business. Your accounting website needs to have a header and a footer, and they need to appear on each page of your website. The header of your accounting website should include your logo and easy navigation to all pages. The footer includes usually links to social media. If you have an Instagram profile or Facebook page, they appear in the footer. The first page of your accounting multi-page website is called homepage. This page makes the first impression. If visitors are impressed enough, they will stay on your website and keep searching for more information about your accounting services. Since the homepage is only a quick view of your accounting business, visitors don't spend much time on it. They use the homepage only as navigation to get where they can find specific information about your accounting services. Therefore, the homepage of your accounting website needs to navigate visitors to the other pages as easy as possible. Your homepage should have a hero section, a section with a list of the accounting services you offer, and a section with reviews about your accounting business. The hero section is the first thing your visitors see when visiting your accounting website. To make the first impression you want, choose a hero image, something stunning and closely tied to the accounting services you offer. In this section, you can add a link to about page. The service section of your homepage shouldn't include too detailed information. This section needs only to grab the attention of your visitors and show them that you offer high-quality accounting services. A good practice would be to add a link to the service page. In the third section, you can include relevant testimonials. Testimonials come directly from satisfied customers and showcase the quality and success of your accounting services. Testimonials are away your client to recommend your services to other people. 4. Multi-page accounting website - part 2: The About page is the place where you can go into more detail about your accounting firm. Here You can share your visitors a Brief History of your account business. You can present the main principles that your accounting business follows. Tell them more about the mission and goals of your business. In case you have a team, introduce all people you're working with. This is a good way to create in your visitors a feeling of trust. People tend to spend more time on a website with video content. So you can make a short introductory video about your business and uploaded on the about page. The services page lists all your accounting services and outline their values. Their general goal of the services page is to convert your visitors to your customers. Therefore, this page needs to hold your visitor's attention long enough to keep them reading the whole Services page. The contact page of your accounting website should include not only your address and telephone number, but also a contact form. The contact form is the most powerful way of visitor to reach you. They need only to fill out the form on the contact page and submit it. So your potential customers can reach you anytime and everywhere. If you publish only a phone number and your postal contact information, you can miss a phone call when you're not available. And your potential client, we'll find another accounting firm that offers a better communication. That's why my recommendation is to have a contact form on your contact page. 5. Single-page accounting website: You can choose to create a single-page accounting website. This is a website that only contains one page and all the information about your accounting business appears on this single page, split into small parts. The content of the about page, Services page and contact page from the multiple page website appear on the single-page website as sections of this one page. You can go to each section on a single-page website as you scroll down or click on the navigation bar on the top of the website. Let's assume that you've decided to create a single-page website for your accounting business. The minimum recommended parts that this website should have. Our navigation bar, footer, hero section about section services section, testimonials and contact section. The header of your accounting website should include your logo and easy navigation to all sections with content. As we have already mentioned, the footer includes usually links to social media. If you have an Instagram profile or a Facebook page, you can include links to them in the photo section. The hero section of your single-page accounting website can be a stunning image related to the services you offer. Here you can include the motto of your business or some other smart text that capture attention. The About section should tell the story and the goals of your business. But the content needs to be shorter than on the about page of a multi-page accounting website. I recommend is short and clear text supported by a meaningful video. The service section should convince visitors that your services are the most suitable for them. You need to give some more details. You can't miss the meaning of satisfied clients. Take some good reviews about your work and add them into testimonial section. Tried to collect at least three testimonials and put them into this section. The contact section is the door that your potential clients will use to reach you. Make sure that you include not only your email address and telephone, but a contact form to it looks much more professional when you give different contact options. 6. Creating a multi-page accounting website: In this, in the following few videos, I am going to show you how to create a multiple page website for your accounting firm. We are going to use wicks. It isn't easy to use drag and drop website builder. It is a powerful tool that everyone can use to create an eye-catching website. The sign-up process is more than easy. We need just to enter email and password. And that's all. Now we can create our website. Weeks asks us what kind of website we are going to create. An accounting website is a type of business website, so we choose business. After that week's gives us two options. The first option uses the artificial intelligence designer of WIX. It helps us to create a website really in a few minutes, we should only answer some questions and wicks will create the accounting website that suits our needs. The second option uses the drag-and-drop editor of WIX. It gives us a wide variety of templates that we can choose from. We can make a lot of changes to the template we have chosen and create our own accounting website in a few hours. In this, in the following few videos, I'm going to give you tips how to create a multi-page web site using the first option. This option is great for beginners or anyone who needs to create a website quickly. It's true that the design and customization opportunities of this week's option are limited compared to the second option, but they are enough for creating a good static website that promotes your accounting services. Let's start creating our multiple page accounting website. Weeks asks us again what type of website we would like to create. Week suggests a, some features. We are going to skip this step. We can add any of these features anytime. After that, we need to enter the name of our business. If we already have an online presence, we can use our online content and image, but we do not have. So we skip this step. In the next step, we have an opportunity to add our logo and some more information related to our business. Next, you should choose fonts and colors that will be used to design your site. You can always change them later. Week suggests as some Homepage styles, we can choose one and change it later, or we can skip this step. Let's choose the one in the middle. After that, we are allowed to add all pages we want our website to have. We are going to add an About page, Services page and contact page. Now wakes is creating our accounting website. When it is ready, we will be directed to the dashboard. 7. How to edit a homepage : In this video, we are going to customize our website using w6 dash board. On the top of the dashboard is a navigation bar. We can add a new page or a section to a page. We can change our websites, colors, fonts, design, and add animations. To manage a particular page of our website, we should click on the blue button on the left side of the top navigation. On the left side appears menu, which allows us to switch between all pages and make changes on them. We can also add or delete pages. To customize the elements of a particular page, we should click on the page and the left side menu. The page appears on the screen and we can edit all elements of the page. We just should click with the mouse on the section or element we want to edit. I would like to change the text of the title and bold the font on our homepage. I'm going to do the same with the text of the subtitle. We can also change the design of this section as we click on the button design in the left corner of the section. On the left side menu appear all available designs. And we can look for the one that is the most suitable for us. Let's move to the About section on the home page and bold the title. I would like to hide the subtitle as I click on the Check button in the right side of the element in the left side menu. We are going to make one more change here. We are going to choose another design of the button. Learn more. We move the mouse cursor to the button and a new blue button appears. When we move the cursor to this blue button, we can choose what to edit. We choose design and WIX provides us different button designs. When we click on Link, we bind this button with another element of the website. We are going to link it to the about page. The title of the Services section needs to be slightly edited. After that, we need to add our own services. If we want, we can choose another design of this section. Under the Services section, I would like to add a testimonial section. We click on the plus button on the page and on the left side menu I see all designs I can choose from. I like the one where there are no photos of the clients. Since we have a whole page that contains our contacts, I am going to delete the contact section on the homepage. After we have made the changes we want on the Homepage, we can make it more stunning as we add animation, we go to the design button in the top navigation bar and click on animation. 8. How to edit an about page, service page and contact page: I like the design of the about page, so we are going to make some small changes on the about page. The first change I am going to make is to bold the title. After that, we can add new content that describes the history and the mission of our accounting business. I am going to use the sample text, but when you make your real website, you need to use your own content. To do that, just click on the text, delete this one, and write or paste your own. We don't need a button on this page so we can hide it. To hide an element, we need just to click on the Check button on the right side of the element in the left side menu. I would like to add a video instead of an image. To do that, I click on the image and see what appears in the left side menu. On the top, we see two types of media. I click on the video icon and Wix ads a video in the place of the image. I am going to use the video provided by weeks. But when you create your real accounting website, you should upload your own video. And the last change we are going to make on this page is to add animation. Exactly the same way we are going to go through the rest pages and make some small changes. Let's look at the services page. I click on the page and the left side menu and the services page appears. I would like to change the title and hide the header subtitle. I think I could find a more suitable design for the service page. That's why I'm going to go through all designs that WIX provides. I need a design that provides some more space for the services because I would like to add more details. Now I am going to change the names and bold all services titles and add descriptions. I can add a description as I make active the check button on the right side of the description element in the left side menu. Of course, you can write or copy your own content. For the purposes of the course, I'm going to use the text that Wix offers. Now it's time to add some animation. We go to the design button in the top menu and click on animation. Let's see the contact page. I would like to use some design, but I am going to build the title. Let's see what animation we are going to add. Now I am ready with customizing the desktop version of our accounting website. 9. How to make our accounting website responsive and publish: We need to make our accounting website responsive. This means that our website should look good on desktops as well as on mobile devices. Weeks automatically creates a mobile version of the website. But sometimes we need to do some minimal changes to the mobile version. To see and edit the mobile version of our website, we go to the small desktop icon in the top menu and choose the one that looks like a mobile phone. In most cases, the content looks good, but somewhere some small adjustments are needed. Going through the homepage, we see that the text in the About section doesn't look good. We should choose another design where the text is more visible. We need a design where the text is not over the image. The rest sections on the homepage look good and we aren't going to change them. Let's see the About page. We need to change the design because the text is over the video and it is not visible enough. We are going to choose a design where the text is above or under the video. The service section shouldn't be edited. It looks pretty good on a mobile phone. The contact page looks good too. And we aren't going to change it. Now we can click Publish button and see our accounting website Life. You can use the free weeks domain or add your own if you have. I choose the first option. We need to wait a little bit. And when our website is published, our accounting website is on the internet. And I can see how it looks like. Because I use the free version of WIX, the domain name of the website has some additional extensions and there is a small ad on the top of the website. If you want to clean these two things, you need to choose some of the paid plans that Wix offers. But for now, I keep this free version of the website. 10. Website #2 - Quick View: We are going to build this stunning website for our accounting firm. The website will be a one-page website with a few sections. Of course, the website will be responsive and will look good on mobile devices more than good. 11. Initial Setup: To get started with our accounting website using Wix editor, we click on the big blue button, create new website. Wix asks us what website we want to create. We select business. On the next step, which allows us to choose how to create our website. We want to have more flexibility and choose the Wix editor. Now let's click on the button, select a template. Based on the business category we've chosen week suggests as a few templates we can choose from. We can select a subcategory of the business category and see the most suitable for our purposes templates. We just navigate the mouse to the business category and choose finance and law from the drop-down menu. It's absolutely fine if we can't find one that is exactly what we are looking for, we simply need to select one template that is similar or close. Using the drag and drop editor of weeks, we will change it and convert it to the website that is in our mind. If we want to see a demo of a particular template, we need to click on the View button. We can see how the template looks on a desktop and on mobile. For this purpose, we use both icons in the left upper corner. Let's say we like this template design and want to use it to start making changes to it. We click on the button, edit the site. Weeks takes us to the Wix editor. Here is the place where the magic happens. 12. Dashboard Part 1: When we look at the dashboard, we see three menus. Top menu, left menu, and right menu. The top menu is the place where we save, preview, and publish our website. We see these three buttons on the right side of the top menu. We can find them in the drop-down menu that appears when we have our own site. It is important to click the save button regularly. This guarantees that all changes we have made will stay for some reason, weeks will be closed. The button preview allows us to see how our website looks like before we publish it. When we complete our website, we need to take it live. This happens through the button publish. When we hover on settings, we see a lot of features related to the backend of our website. Here we can choose a web address for our website and a personalized e-mail address. Here is the place where we can arrange the SEO of our website. Seo stands for search engine optimization and relates to the visibility of a website on the Internet. From this menu, we can set up a privacy policy and cookies on our website. All we know that cookie banner that shows on every website. We can add such a banner to our website, to the idea of these cookies is to collect and track the data of all website visitors. Another interesting feature is adding multilingual languages to our website. The toolbar on the right is going to help us make final adjustments to the appearance of our site. We are going to use this toolbar to arrange elements in front of or behind all other elements. Organize elements horizontally or vertically, or rotate elements. 13. Dashboard Part 2: The left menu is responsible for helping us change, add, or delete elements of our website. We create the content we want to see on our website using exactly this menu. The first widget in the left menu is the site menu. It shows us all the pages that the menu navigates to. Since this template is for a one-page website, we see that the website has one page called home. This page is divided into sections and the menu navigates to the different sections of the homepage. Weeks gives us an option to add as many new pages as we want. We just click on the Add Page button and give it a name. We can change the name of a section or a page. And of course, we can delete a page or a section. The button next to the Add Page button allows us to link the menu element with a page or a section of a page. The second widget in the left menu relates to the page background. Weeks has a wide variety of images and videos that we can use as a background for the page of our website. If we have our own image or video, we can upload it. After each use an image or a video. We can apply either to a specific page or to more than one page. The left menu has all the power to make our website look modern, stunning, and impressive. In the left menu, we can customize all the elements of our website. I'm going only through those that I think are the most important Out Website design comes with text, but we can customize it. We are going to use to text elements on our website, titles and paragraphs. The titles let our site visitors know what the sections are about. Paragraphs should contain most of our site's content. Images on a website or as important as text. We can upload images from our device, use free Wix Media or upload images from our social media accounts such as Facebook and Instagram. Buttons are key elements of our website. They make our website more interactive as they call actions. Wix offers a variety of buttons. Some of them contain only words, others contain only icons. Lists and grids are elements that contain repeating elements. We are going to include such elements in our website to present our services and testimonials of satisfied clients. In the left menu, we can find a lot of icons of social media. Adding social icons to our website and linking them with our social media accounts will make it easy for people to find and follow us on social networks. 14. Edit the header Part 1: As we have already understood, all elements on our website are editable. We should simply click an element and we'll be able to change the way we want. There are logo, text and menu in the header. We are going to change all of them. We begin with the logo. It is a vector image. To edit the sample logo, we need to click on it and a few buttons appear. Now we pay attention only to the button change vector art. Selecting this button, which takes us to a window where we can either choose some of the free images that Wix offers or upload our own. We don't have our logo and we are going to use one of the logos that Wix offers. To see only the logos WIX provides, we should choose the category logos and badges. Let's go through the logos and see if we will find one suitable for our website. When we select the one we want to use on our website, we click on Add to Page. Weeks changes immediately the sample logo with the one we have selected. Of course, we can change the position and the size of the logo. To change its position, we click on the image and move the mouse. To change the size of the logo. We click some of the corners of the image and drag the mouse. We are going to change the color of the logo. We simply click on the Design button and choose the colors we want to apply. After we have changed the logo, it's time to change the text to the logo, which is the name of our accounting business. When we click on the text, we can write the name of our firm. To make more changes to the text, we need to select the Edit Text button, which allows us to change the size, the font, and the color of the text. Since the sample font is good, We are going only to bold the text. After that, we need to click on the Save button in the right top corner. Now we are going to change the color of the text. We should choose a color close to the colors of the logo. We need to save the theme again. To make the text more effective, we are going to add some effect. 15. Edit the header Part 2: Now it's time to customize the menu in the header. Every website should have a menu. It can be horizontal or vertical. If we have more than one page on our site, our menu automatically displays our page names. But in this case, we have selected a one-page design. Therefore, our menu contains the heading of the sections of our homepage, and it navigates to all sections of our homepage. Our first task related to the menu is to change the names of some of the sections. We click on the Manage Menu button. Let's rename the first section from practice areas to services. We can save the name of the second section, our vision, but we need to rename the third section from attorney to testimonials. The last section remains with the name contact. We should remember to save our changes. We click on the Save button. When we do this for the first time, Wix asks us to write our domain name. After that, we save the domain name and go ahead. To change the design of the menu. We click on the button with a painting brush, and new panel opens and offers us a variety of Menu Designs. When we select the menu design that we want, we click on the Customize design button. Here we can edit all elements of the menu, Fill Color, corners, shadow, text, and spacing. First, we are going to apply a dark green font color, and bold the size of the text in the menu. After that, we are going to edit the color of the background when hovered. To hover an element of a website means just to put the mouse cursor on this element. We can add the same background color. When clicked, we simply go to the click's sub-menu of the menu Design window and choose the color we want. We can also adjust the height of the header. We just need to click on the arrow element on the orange line between the header and hero section and move the mouse up and down. We can see how our header looks as we click the preview button. 16. Hero Section: Now we can go to the hero section of our website and change the background of the hero section by clicking on the section and selecting the change strip background button. We can choose an image or a video. Here of sections with videos are more effective than those with images. Thus, we are going to pick the most suitable video for our website. We click the video button and WIX provides a bunch of free videos that we can use on our website. To filter the videos we write in the search bar, the keyword business. And we get a list of videos suitable for every business website. We select the one with a keyboard and click the Change Background button. We save the change we have made to our hero section and click the preview button to see how it looks like. The next step is to customize the color box on the left side of the hero section. We select this element and click the Change Design button. Wix allows us to choose a design of the box. Next, we click on the Customize design button to edit specific design features of the element. The first thing we are going to do is to change the color of the box. And after that, we change the opacity of the box. Of course, we are going to edit the title and the paragraph of our hero section. First, we click on the title and select the getText ideas button. This feature of weeks helps us create good content, giving us text ideas in a variety of topics tailored to our line of business. We should type in the search bar accounting firm, and select what type of content we are looking for. For the hero section, we need a welcome text. Now we see a list of ideas about the title and paragraph in our hero section. When we choose a tidal, we just click Use text and the text appears on the hero section of our website. If we want, we can edit the font, color, and size of the text. But now we don't need to do it. We can edit the paragraph under the welcome text. We just adjust it to our needs with slight changes. To do that, we double-click the text and type what we want it to say. We are ready with the hero section. Let's preview the hero section. 17. Service Section Part 1: Let's move to the service section. We are going to replace the whole design. First, we should delete the current section and after that, add a new one. To delete this section, we click the Zoom Out and reorder button. After that, we click on the section we want to delete. It becomes highlighted by a blue border. Then we simply click the trash icon to the right of the section. After we have deleted this section, we exit this mode. What we need to do now is to add a new section. Actually weeks calls the sections strips. To add a new strict, we go to the left menu and click add. The first element we see is stripped, and this is the element we are looking for. Wix provides different strict designs depending on the type of information we want to present. We select services and go through the designs. Let's choose this one. Then we simply click and drag it to wherever we want on our page. And ready. We already have the service section. We can change the number of columns of the service section. We simply click on the Manage columns button. If we want to add a new column, we click the Add button. When we want to delete a column, we click on the trash icon. The next step is to customize the content in each column. First, we are going to change the icons. We click on the first icon and select Change basic shape. From the drop-down menu, we select category icons. After selecting the icon, we click Add to page. We're going to change the second icon the same way. We click on the icon and select click on the Change basic shape button. We select an icon and click on the Add to Page button. Since we are going to use the third icon, we shouldn't replace it. If need. We can align the icons. Of course, we should change the text under the icons. The first service we offer is cloud accounting. The second service is tax accounting. And the third services consulting. We need some description about our services. Just double-click on the text and write the new one. The first description is the following. We provide up-to-date and accurate records of your business transactions. The second description is we are helping you pay your tax on time. And the third one is we advise you on a variety of accounting and tax topics. 18. Service Section Part 2: We are almost ready with the service section. We need only to change the button text and link all the buttons with the contact section. The idea is when a potential client wants to learn more about our services to contact us, we click on the button and select Change text. We delete the current text and add a new one. After that, we click add a link and see all options. When we want to navigate to a section of a page, we should select anchor and choose the name of the section we want to link to. We repeat these steps to all three buttons in the service section. We should make two more little adjustments. We need to link our menu on the top with the new section. To do that, we need an anchor. To add an anchor to our section, we go to the Add button on the left menu. After that, we select menu and anchors. We give a name to the anchor. It is a good practice to name it just like the section. We click on the menu and select the Manage menu button. Then we go to the service section and click on the circle on the right side. Here we select anchor and choose the section that we want to show when we click on surfaces on the top menu. Now our service section is ready. 19. Contact Section and Footer: The contact section and the footer don't need a lot of change. We aren't going to change the design. We are going only to change the content and add links to our social media and the footer. To change the text we want, we just click on it and start typing our texts. In the footer, we see two social media icons. When our customers click on them, they go to our LinkedIn account and our Twitter account. We click on one of the icons and we see all added icons. If we want, we can add more icons. Wix offers icons for all well-known social media. After we have chosen which icons we want to have in the footer, we should add the URL or the path to each of our accounts. And that's it. 20. Mobile Version: Before we publish our website, we need to see how it looks like on mobile. We click on the mobile icon on the left side of the top menu and go through the mobile version of our website. It is expected that the mobile version will need minimum customization. We can choose how the header of our website looks. When visitors scroll, we click on the header section and select Change header scroll. Wix offers four options. We choose one and I think we are ready with the mobile version of our website. The mobile and the desktop versions look good. We can publish our website.
