1. Introduction: Hello and welcome to the minimal title opener in aftereffect. I want to show and teach you a fun workflow where you can prepare an animation like that. We will work with a cool, phoned, proper shape element, key frame and animate them. Reveal them with masks and many, many more things all don't within aftereffect. It's a really fun project. No matter if you are a total beginner or know your way around by the end of this class, you will be able to create this kind of animation on your own from scratch an aftereffect. I sincerely invite you to take the class with me and have some fun designing and roll now, and I'll see you inside. 2. LECTURE 1: Hello, everyone and welcome in this tutorial. So today I would like to show you a slightly different animation. Let us start by creating a new composition. Then go to the timeline. Right. Click new solid and let us make a solid background. I'll select something dark, like blackish or grace. And okay, now I want the text to be in the middle. Let me close this layer down because we will not use it anymore. And let me head over to text I had over the text and in the Middle Island, right in a big, bold fund tutorial. Now this tutorial will be different. That's why, for example, want to use next a bold fund regular, Okay, Because I want it to be really big. And I want off course, a white color. So here in the character panel, I'm selecting a white make the title to your desired size. I want it to be really big, so I'll drag it over and make it a tiny bit bigger as I have it on the right size, I goto window a line and I'll align it in the middle and again aligned it in the middle. Now I want to pre composed this object because later I'll animate it. And I want to have the ability to change this text maybe even bigger, because it's a bit small. Boom, boom again in the middle. Now hit the text, Right click pre composed and I'll just call it main text. Okay, As I go to the main text later, I can always change the text here. This is, however might work in composition. Now let's do our first animation on the main text Press p like position and press shift are like rotation. So we have boat the position and throat irritation opened. I'll press why on my keyboard to select the pan behind Tool and I will set the anchor point on the left side because I want this animation with the text flying and animate the entire text. So left side is okay in this case. Okay, it's here. Everything is prepared now on the main text goto one second, maybe one second five frames and press a key frame here and the key from here. So we have both the position and the rotation now a bit area or on the very beginning I want the text to be off the screen. So I will work just with the second value. I want the second value to be off screen and I want a little bit off rotation. Maybe. Yeah, 10 degrees should be. OK now, at this point, we would have an information like that. It's really OK, but I would also like to overshoot it a little bit over shooting is when you make an animation. When it flies from one side, it will overshoot up words a little bit. So as I'm here in the middle, I would like this animation to be already here, because this way, it's too slow. So I didn't come here. Come here. And a little bit up like that. And the rotation should be like negative five. Okay, let's preview. What do you have now? Boom, Boom. Okay, this looks fairly nice. Now, I have a little error here in the position, as I see, because the position flights up and here it stops and somehow drops. So let me select the position and preview. What do you have? I'll take my selection tool, and I have the best. Your handle. I pulled about your handle back and let me preview it is okay now. Well, the ending is a bit too slow. Boom! Boom. Okay, now I can select the key frames. Right Click key frame assistant. Easy East. Once I've used them in, I'll go into the graph. It or I was select the speed graph because it's better visible. I'll make this entire thing smaller, take the key frames. And let's maybe extent the ending key frames like this also from the rotation Did I get it ? Yep, I did get it. Maybe I changed the rotation slightly, but just so it gets a bit more off animation. Boom. Okay. And you have something like that. It's stuffed for a little while. And if you have the key frames, let me once again press you You. If you have this key frame and you don't see the best your handled, this is a key frame here. If you don't see the best your handle, you can always right click So the key from interpolation and change the spatial interpolation to continuous best year. You probably will have auto busier and you have no information whatsoever. But if I select a key frame, I take key fame interpolation and I want that continues busier. I will have the handles, and I can adjust each animation by hand, as you can see. So that's what I did. I did a slight change, so the animation doesn't go. It's still goes a bit up. Yep. Here. It should go down. So let me try to adjust this. We have it like this, and I need to pull this upper handle. I need to pull it. Will I be equal here? I try to be equal. Okay. Okay. Okay. Maybe I should pulled it down the bottom one. But you know what? I think I hit it pretty, right? It's pretty straight to me. And let's preview it. Boom, boom. See? Now it doesn't overshoot too much here. Nice frame goes over to the bottom. Anticipate this is the first animation you want to have. You want to have one big text in the middle and it should look like that. Okay. If you have it, please continue to the next tutorial and we'll continue from there. 3. LECTURE 2: Hello and welcome in the second tutorial. I hope you had trouble with this text. If you did, I consent to the project file. I have already saved it and it will be attacked. So we have two tutorial text in the middle. And now I want to show you something. Amazing. I'll take the main text and I'll control the duplicate control. De duplicate it two times. As you can see as I select all layers and press you, I have all keeping creepers like that. I'll go to this place, select the last one, select my left, old key and right bracket key to trim this layer. You can also go to the beginning or to the end and trim it like that. Now I'll do the same with those layers, but I'll select the old and select my left bracket key. What will happen now? You kind of have the idea that until this point I want this bottom to be visible. But since now and it's not perfect, so let me adjust it. Since now, since disposition, I don't only those two upper layers to be visible. Now let me close everything because this is a cut. I've made especially to reveal some text. So boom no one sees. Have anything you'd wouldn't imagine that these are separate layers, but they are So let me start working with them. Let's say that I want to cut to be about in this place. That's no problem. Let's at first adjust the bottom layer because it's the most important one. I will de select it, so I only see the bottom one. Won't you have this main text selected? Select a rectangle tool and just make a rectangle like that. This will be my mask. So I have the mast like that and I want this amount to be visible. Okay, Now, once I have this mask, I will present the mask. Press control. See, I will goto the previous layer to the main text and I press control V What I did. I've copied the mask over here, but I don't want a mask to be exactly the same. That's why I select V. I double click on the mask and I'll retain this upper layer. I'll just make like that boom and I'll have perfectly equal masks. So one off the masks ends here and ends in the topside and the second mask goes in the same place but ends on the bottom. You see the difference, okay? And the difference here is that one mask reviews it and one mask reviews dis portion. Okay, now we can finally animate it. This is what I wanted to show you in the second tutorial because I don't want to go too quick and go slow about it. The 1st 2 title was to prepare the animation, and second to throw is to create the mask. Now, in the next tutorial, we'll try to animate the bottom text because now we have full freedom because we can animate the bottom text without having to worry about the entire design. So see you in the next lesson and let's continue from there. 4. LECTURE 3: Hello and welcome in tutorial number three. So now I'm really enjoying this because this is the most beautiful part we have. Once you have those animations, select the second the bottom text. We prepare toe damask. Now, once again, I want to press P to open up the position and are with my shift key to open up the rotation . Now the only thing I want to do is to place it on the bottom. So I simply select a key frame key frame here. I already have two key frames, but they were previously said I go forward, maybe to one second and 15 frames. That's okay. And just place it over the screen. I mean, under the screen and select a slight rotation, like, five degrees. So it will make around a motion that that's just due to need a little bit. Okay, I think that too quick. That's far too quick. So I will make it slower because I wanted mate. Okay, we have an animation like that, and then the bottom falls off. Let me go in and select the key frames that I have animated now. Didn't preview if they're ok. Well, I think they are maybe a bit slower in the beginning, because this was too quick. Boom. Okay. Yep. And the bottom simply falls off. If I want to make some adjustments, I can off also keep him interpolation And instead of linear because this was too linear. I want continues his ear. And I want to make a slight curl emotion here because this was too swift for me. Okay, Maybe I overdone it with the curl. I make it like that and the position is too small. So you need to go to this place. And the position should be far, far more. I wanted to be more, more, more. Course, it will have a nice emotion. Okay, now it's false off really quick. So I once again extend it. The best here is still too strong. I'm sorry I made this mistake with this key frame. All right. I think this will be okay. Let's say your animation looks like that you have the first animation, and then it simply falls off. So what's it? Falls off. Let me go to the beginning. You want to select direct angle tool with Q Select A Phil and no stroke, please. place an object here to about this size, where it was cut off. Let me see if this is the right position. Oh, I plastique to reduce the opacity. Is this the right position? Well, kind of. That's why I will click on the shape layer. Okay. Yeah, it's a perfect position. Now in here, I select the shape layer to the bottom whom I want it toe fly off together with the bottom . You can do this by clicking on the shape layer, selecting the Pickwick and selecting the animated object. Now, once the animated bottom falls off also, this one falls off. Let me make it orange press enter and select mask because this will be a special mask for the bottom text. Boom and boom. Okay, now it's together linked, and it follows exactly the text. So I want a little text to be here tutorial, for example, by by Andre Park. We just meet. I'll make it, of course, smaller. I'll place it here on the bottom left, Maybe reveal everything. Okay. Does this look interesting? Let me go to ally into the middle and you can use any text you want and the front you want . Maybe an extra light, so it will look a bit more interesting. A bit more engaging like this middle. Okay, it's in the middle and what's not? I select my text. I'll place it under the mask and I'll select in the track. My options. Olfa Met mask What this does? It will not be visible until the bottom is revealed off course. I make a slight mistake because I have the opacity said to 27%. I want the opacity to be 100%. And this text can be visible until it falls off. Can you say me? What did I do wrong? Off course. The Met is set wrong. Instead, off alpha matte, I should have selected offer inverted met. So now it's invisible. So at first the text should be invisible. But in the beginning, we don't have any masks. So let me select the text and crop the text like this. Okay, so everything flies in now the text appears, but we don't see it. But when the bottom falls off, we will start to see. So this is the animation that you should have until this point. You have the item floating in. You have the bottom falling off and you have a text to be revealed. And it's very, very simple, with a simple mask which is connected to the floating text on the bottom. So let me preview the animation in its current state, and in the next lesson, I want to show you a final touch, which you can put on this entire thing. 5. LECTURE 4: hello and welcome in the very last tutorial in this animation. So this will be just fine tuning by adding in a layer. We have everything animated like this. It flows from the bottom. It wrote it a little bit and we can kind that go in that fashion. I'll right click selecting you and select a new no object. Technol objectives on the top and I link everything everything apart, of course, from the mask. Because the mask already has apparent, I apparent everything to the new object boom. Everything is parented to new. We don't need any key frames because now will work only with the parent layer because the parent layer allows us to adjust everything. So at the beginning, maybe I want the process. Let me process for the scale and right until here, maybe it will grow a little bit towards me. Maybe until here, before the animation starts. Or let's also include this animation. I'll make the scale to maybe 110%. Nothing fancy. Just a slight animation forward towards me. Okay, then, once we have that, let me extend this compulsion. We want the entire animation toe end somehow. So this would be very simple. I'll just go slightly forward. And what did we have previous previously? We had position and we had rotation. So I love Shift P and shift our. So let's select position, rotation And a bit later, Sciorra. Everything will go out off the screen and rotate a little bit. Now, if you think that's OK, that's OK. We have those handles here. I can make a slight animation like this, so it will go a little bit around away from the screen. Perfect. Now I can select all key frames, right Click key frame assistant. Ease them in. Once they are east, you can click on the graph editor and adjust the animation one by one. At first, I want the scale to the left, Left to the right, to the left, SK like that. Then the position and the rotation. Okay, they have different values. So I'll go with the position first, maybe let slow it down at the beginning. And then it will gain speed. The same for the rotation like that and everything. This is everything I wanted to show you. When it comes to adjusting this Imation, the final piece would look like that. We could comment of the screen. Then it falls off and then it falls again off. Now, if you think everything was too quick because it was a little bit, I'll press you on my keyboard and remember that you can select all key frames, press the left old and dragged him out. Now the thing I would need to adjust here out, of course, need to address the crops. Let's say that I was perfect here. Somehow entered. Everything will look OK. Okay, now the animation was a tiny bit slower. Maybe the ending is too slow. Boom. It should fall off the screen right away. Let's preview it one last time. Okay? I'll make everything bigger. I'll preview it like that. I like the little growing. Maybe the little growing should be extended to the entire animation boom. It grows a little bit. It falls off and then it falls off the screen. This looks like a minimal title opener like a kinetic typography in like a motion element. So everything is combined in this class. But that's what I want to teach you. And after fails, you can have fun with text fun with objects fund with masks and really create interesting information by just working with those layers a little bit. Thank you very much for your attention and your time spent on listening to me. I would be very grateful if you would like to share me a positive review. A thumbs up for this class. This will keep me going. And I'll want to record more classes like that. Thank you very much for listening and see you in the next tutorials.
