Project Description

Share a character-driven video portrait.

PRACTICE

My goal in sharing this class is to inspire you to shoot your own work! Go experimental, or go poetic. Whatever your style, your assignment is to share a short, character-driven film.

  • If you're a filmmaker, share your own! Embed from Vimeo or YouTube. Share existing work or a brand-new piece.
  • New to filmmaking? The best way to become a strong documentary filmmaker is to watch documentaries! Link and share your favorites.

I'm eager to see projects that take risks, get close to their subjects, and reveal parts of people we don't always see. Show action unfolding over time, and remember to pay attention to what you hear as much as what you see.

The most important thing is to get out there and make work!
