About This Class

Modern calligraphy is increasingly popular. Pointed script is elegant and beautiful. And faux calligraphy adds depth to down strokes, even when written with playful bounce.

Flourishes are often used to embellish calligraphic script, but they’re just as beautiful when viewed alone. In this class, I’ll cover two methods I use to create my own bookmarks – faux calligraphy and modern calligraphy.

Another fun class! Thank you, Annette!
An interesting class. Instructor is organized and moves right along. Especially liked the last video on adding watercolor to the bookmarks and the method she used.

Embrace + Express Creativity

Hey there! I’m Annette Francine, a surface pattern designer and web designer from the Midwest.

Abstractions of architectural elements often find their way into my work, and I find floral elements to be irresistibly delicate and charming. My pattern designs range from intricate and delicate to frenetic and geometric. Some of my work can be found in a few creative pockets around the Internet.

In addition to pattern design, I enjoy lettering and watercolor painting. I've been building my own websites since 2009, and I'm branching out into offering this service for others as well.

My Skillshare channel is dedicated to helping you embrace and express your creativity! So if there’s a way that I can help you to do this, you can send me a note either directly or through the discussions tab.

Warm regards,
