About This Class

A character name is so important for the readers experience.

We want our characters to stand out. We want them to be memorable.

And an outstanding name is the first step to creating an outstanding character.

But how do we come up with names that stick in the mind like Bilbo Baggins or Daenerys Targaryen?

My Secret Techniques

In this class I will run through the three techniques I personally use to name all of my characters in my fantasy novels and other works of fiction.

These techniques are quick and effective!

They will get your characters standing out from the pages within seconds.

The quicker a reader connects with a character, the longer they will stay with them on the journey.

Woah. Simple, straight to the point. Choosing a character's name is always a pain in the *ss. You start picking up random combinations of syllables and are never satisfied. Now, the techniques here are so simple, but I never thought of them. And as you said, it adds context and depth to your character names. Great job!
Choosing character names is always so stressful! This will help give me a new focus.

Always learning

I found this course helpful. So often my character naming is nothing more sophisticated that googling "boys first names" or "spanish last names". Or even just mashing together letters and hoping for the best. Jason's course has opened my eyes to seeing that there are a couple of cool techniques to get names that have meaning and add depth to your character.

Write Your Way To a Novel

Newly graduated and seemingly unemployable; I spent my days writing the story I always had inside me.

Eventually I finished 'War Drum'. I finished it because I didn't stop writing it - simple, ey?

It was a war in itself, but during the battle I picked up essential novel crafting strategies. These tools and tricks can help you also write the book you have always dreamed of holding in your hands.
