Project Description

Knit a cozy pair of thick house socks to keep your toes toasty. This is a great project for someone who has completed a scarf or a cowl, and wants to learn more techniques to expand their knitting knowledge. The pattern pdf download has my written instructions, so you can follow along easily as you work through each video lesson.

Sizing

This pattern is written to fit a US woman's' 6-10 shoe size, but can be customized to a smaller or larger woman's foot.

Class Materials:

  • Two skeins of Quince & Co. Lark (I used the Bird's Egg colorway) or 260 yards of any worsted weight yarn.
  •  US 6 circular knitting needle with at least a 32" cord. A US 5 or 7 knitting needle may be required if after knitting a gauge swatch, you find you're a tight or loose knitter.
  • A tapestry needle with an eye wide enough for yarn
  • Three stitch markers
  • A ruler or tape measurer
  • Optional: sock blockers

Knitting Gauge:

5 stitches per inch, and 8 rows per inch using worsted weight yarn on US 6 knitting needles.

Show me what you're up to!

I love seeing knitting in-progress, and want to see your socks as you knit from the cuff, all the way down to the toe. Snap some images as you're working, and let me know how it's going. If you get stuck, or need help at any point in time, let me know in your class project, or in the comments section, and I'll try my best to help you get through.
