1. WooCommerce intro: Hey, guys, my name is Darrell. And welcome to this World Commerce tutorial. Today I'm gonna teach you everything there is to know about commerce. We're gonna go through all of the products as well as all of the will commerce settings. So the first part of this tutorial, we're gonna talk all about products and all the products that commerce has to offer. So this right here is just a simple product. We have no variables. They can simply click the quantity and added to the cart. Next, we have a variable product. So here we have different variables, such as size and color. So I'll set a medium blue. So this right here is a variable products will show you how you can incorporate this on your ecommerce websites. Next, we have group products, and this is great for something like phones, anything with storage. So here we have a 16 gig phone and a 32 gig phone. Of course, you can set the price and you can set as many variables as you want for your group product as well. Next, we have virtual products, so let's say you're a business consultant or an attorney and you want to charge someone for a phone call, I'll show you how you can set up a virtual products on your websites. Next, we have downloadable products. So if you want to sell something downloadable such as an e book, I'll show you how you can incorporate digital products on your website as well. Lastly, we have affiliate products. If you want to run an affiliate store where someone comes through, website buys a product and you receive a commission. I'm gonna show you how you can do that as well on your websites. Next, we will go through all of the general will commerce options. So I want you guys to really understand everything about will Commerce. So I'm gonna go through each and every tab to make sure that you guys understand all the options and all of the features that will commerce eyes to offer. Now one quick being. There is time stamps in this video. So if you guys want to go to a specific part of a section such as products, taxes or shipping, all those time stamps are in description of this video. Next, we'll be talking about taxes now, in addition to automated taxes. I'm gonna show you how you can actually set up your own personal taxes. So I'm gonna show you how you can set up automated. But then again, also, if you want a specific custom tax rates, I'll show you how you can set that up as well on your websites, and I'll show you the same thing for shipping. So I'll show you how you can actually get your shipping rates automated through USPS. Or if you want to set a specific shipping rate for a specific shipping class, I'll show you how you can do that as well on your website. And then we'll do some fun stuff like decorate emails. So this right here is an email that I receive and your customers will also receive this email. So here I added a logo. I change the color. And then here, you know, we just added some stuff, so show you how you can decorate the emails that you and your customers receive on your e commerce websites. Next, we'll be talking about check out. So we've been talking about PayPal and stripe and different options people can use to check out on your website. because before there was really only one method which was pay power. Now there's stripe. So let's say, for example, you want someone to actually check out on your website without having to be redirected to PayPal. I'm gonna show you how you can do that today in the sectorial. So this is an example of what your customers might see. Something they put in their credit card information, but their expiration dates and then their code and then click on place order. Now, guys, this is all test mode. So these this is not a real credit card number. So right here, I'll click on place order. So I show you how old people can check out directly on your website without having to being redirected to pay power or redirected to another third party website. Because that creates a drop offering people will might leave saying any the site look still scamming. I'm not gonna buy anything. So this this method is is very simple and easy, and lastly, I'll talk about quick pay. So let's say, for example, you have this buy Now button on your websites. People can click on by now. And right here we have this quick pay. So this will basically skip all of the, you know, the cart process. Everything is all automated to make the check out process really fast and really easy for your customers. So I'll show you how you can incorporate striped quick pay as well on your websites. Now also, if you guys were interested in creating this same websites, I am using the number one rated will commerce theme on the market. So it's just a beautiful, clean WordPress theme. I have a full tutorial on its in the description of this video. There are tons of features and amazing things his theme can offer. So you guys were interested and maybe changing your WordPress theme and using this one. I have a full tutorial on it in the description below. Okay, so let's go ahead and go to our first section, where we're going to talk all about the commerce body 2. Simple + Variable Products: bottom. All right, welcome to the product section tutorial. So let's go to make some products. So the first product we're going to make is a simple product. So right here, I'm gonna go to plus new and go to product. Now, you can always go to the commerce sitting in the back right here by going to products and add new as well. So both ways produced the same result. So right here, let's go ahead and put in a product, some to put girls shirts. Next, we have the long tail description. So whatever you put right here is actually gonna show up right here at the bottom right here, so you can see right here all this stuff on the bottom. This is the long tail description. So I'm just gonna go ahead and pay some description right here. You could put something like, you know, made, you know, made in whatever country the details like washing cold or whatever. And screwing down here. We have a simple product selected, and you can put this is a virtual or downloadable. But for right now, we're just gonna go and leave those unchecked. Now I want to set a regular price. So this is 50 bucks now, you can also set a sale. So, for example, let's say you want to set a specific sale for this product, and here you can actually schedule it. So when do you want the sale to occur? Well, I wanted to occur from February 17th to the 28th So now you can see that this product is now on sale inventory tab. So if you have a school number, you can go ahead and put it in right here. The next option is managed stock. So what this option does? It actually shows the customer how many quantities you have left. So this is kind of like a technique you can use to kind of create like a scarce environment of like only have three left, you know, you've got to buy it. So here I'll put 10. Now, if you want to allow back quarters, you can allow back orders. Personally, I would not recommend it, but you can always, you know, put, allow, notify customer or allow. So again, if you don't know what a backwater is, it's basically saying you don't have any more, but if they want to purchase it, and when you get some more, you can actually ship it to them as well. Sold individually. Now, I don't recommend this because that means that this product can only be bought by itself and nothing else with its There are so reasons to use this, but for generally for simple products, you probably don't want to use that shipping right here. So how many ounces does this way? Well, I want to say it always, like maybe 14 ounces. Here you can select the dimensions, so I don't know what country you're from, but I know like United States has, like, we use, like the ounces and inches and ah, Europeans, I think use like the metric system where they use like killing kilometers. And yeah, because I was in Europe, it was all backwards. Was like, What's the kilometer on? You mean Mile? You know, eso just basically put like, you know how many inches all but like 10 inches five inches. And then how tall is it for 21 inches shipping class? We're not gonna do shipping class because we'll talk more about shipping classes when we talk about the shipping section linked products. So what is an up sell and what is a cross sell? So this is pretty simple to understand. So you guys want to learn You guys can actually hover over the question mark, and it will remind you so again, up sell their products, which you recommend instead of the current viewed product, for example, of products that are more profitable or better quantities. So let's say they're looking at this product, but you want to recommend a very similar product. You can go ahead and put it in right here. So right here all put in something like Red, and then I'll recommend this shirt as well. And you can list as many first as you want or any practice he wants to kind of, you know, make your customers thing. I know I should buy this as well. That looks really cool. So again, up cells are recommendations for products when they're actually viewing this specific product, and now we'll give you an example of its right after we're not making this product now, what is a cross sell now? There are some debates about cross cells. I personally don't like cross cells too much because a cross l is something that you recommend when customers are actually on their way to check outs. Now, my personal advice is if someone's already out the door to check out and already willing to buy something, why confuse them even more by throwing more products? That's my personal opinion. Now, that could be wrong. You know, maybe they will buy more. Or they might say, Oh, you know this product. You know, I don't know what that one is. Good. That one's good too. You know, I'll do this later. There you go. You just also sale, you know? So it's really up to you to want to add cross sells. This will actually recommend products in the cart. So I'm gonna go ahead and are set one up. I'll do, um, this one right here. All right. Attributes. We're not gonna do attributes because this is only for variable products. Advance purchase? No. So if a customer purchased the product, what do you want it to say? So, But like great sale menu order Now, most themes today have the ability to actually put different products in different sections . But the menu order will basically allow it to be a specific section so you could actually set a negative number. Or you can set, like a positive number. So basically, if you want this number two I'm sorry if you want this park to show first and go ahead and put like number one. Number two, number three, number four, number five. But personally, I don't think that's a good idea, because you can always categories products right here to make a little bit more easier. Ah, the next is actually a theme. I'm sorry. A theme option. So you guys won't probably see the extra. This is only for, um the thing that I'm using. So right here is the product. Short description. So this part is the most important part because this is going to show up right here. Now, I think they should probably change this in the future to having it reversed. But whatever you put right here, this is actually going to appear right here. Okay, so this is the short tail description. Now, if you want to get an image right here on a product image, you're gonna select set product image, and then you would go ahead and select an image, so I'm just gonna go and select somebody here now. Product gallery images. So what that is is, let's say you have different angles of the product, so must select add images and then simply go ahead like this one right here. So now we have this section right here. Now, if you want to add tags like such as Girls Dirt and then you know we can add in like a girl's stuff. So what tags are is basically different ways your customers can navigate your website so you can set tags on certain parts of your website and people will see girl shirt girl stuff and click on it. And then it will take them to all those product with certain tags on it. Now, product categories work a little differently. So, for example, let's say you want to set a specific category for specific products such as like, sexy clothes go to add new category. Now, when I click on you know, sexy clothes, this product will appear on the sexy clothes section. Now you can also put women's so this product will appear on women's section and sexy clothes section. So depending on your WordPress theme. I don't know what we're Christine you're using, but you can set categories, which makes it very easy your customers to navigate your website. So, for example, on my website right here, you guys can see on my shop page, actually, on my home page right here I set up certain categories. So right here, if I go down, we have product categories. So I have men's, women's and accessories. So the clock on accessories right here, you're going to see that I only offer accessories. I don't offer any woman's products or no men's products, etcetera. So that's an example of why you would want to category stuff for your websites. So right here I'll click on Publish. I think we're all done everything up here we're not going to mess with because we don't really. You know, we don't really need to have you guys are interested in learning what this stuff does, even though you might not use it except for group products right here under edits. You can actually hide this product show by search results on Lee, the shop on lee, or shop and search results. So there are some reasons why you might want to do that. But, you know, generally, probably 99%. You won't use that. Not unless using group products. So we have set all the options. So let's go ahead and publish this item. All right? Now go to view products. Let's go ahead of you are simple product. All right. Looks amazing. So right here we have the product, people consume over it and look at it. It's very sexy, girl. Here we have the description. So again, right here are actually going back. We have the I'll go to the other product. So we have the short description right there and then we have the long tail description at the bottom right there. Okay? And also we have the quantity and stock because remember, we set the quantity to show. So it's telling customers that there's only 10 left and going down here. We have the category of sexy clothes. We have the tags, and then right here we have a description of it, which is the long steel description. So whatever you put right there, that's going to show up. And here is also the product images. Well, so it's the secondary image for the product as well. So that's pretty simple to understand. So if you guys are interested in simple products, that's exactly how you set it up. So let's go ahead and go to the next section where we're gonna talk about variable products . So let's give this Vera product a name on a do men shirt and then right here again, we have the long tail description and we have the short tail descriptions. So I'm gonna go ahead and describe some deadly text really quick from one of my products that I've made. You can put whatever you want there. Of course, I'm just gonna go ahead and just copy this. Now again, this is my short tail description. So remember, the one of the bottom is going to appear right here, and then this description right here is going to appear right here, and I was kind of backwards. But that's just the way it is for you know who. Commerce. So here I go ahead and select variable product now. So is it taxable? Yes. It is probably taxable standard class rates. We'll talk more about this a little bit later. Inventory again. We talked about this so if you want a school number, you can put it in there or you can enable the stock right there and said a certain amount shipping again. If you want to select the certainty like the way, how much you know ways and the dimensions, you can put that they're linked products again, up cells and cross cells. We talked about that, so let's go to attributes and variations. So right here, when you go to variations, it tells you before you can add a variation, you need to add some variation attributes on the tribute time. So right here, let's click on attributes and go ahead and add one. So here we click on add. Now here I'm gonna say color. And then right here we can put something like red. And then there is a guess. It's like it's right above the inter symbol, so compress it looks like that. But if you hold shift, it looks like that. So that is the but and you will need to press its right about the enter sign. So you need to hold shift and it's like a dashed right above your keyboard and then put blue right here and then right here I'm a go to used for variations and go to save. So for example, right here we have just one variation so we can Onley offer red or blue. Now you can add as many variations as you would like. So let's go ahead and go to variations now, right here on the go to create variations from all attributes and go to go. So this is just if you want one And don't worry, I'm going to actually show you how to do to variations as well. So right here we have right in blue. So right here. If I click on this, it's going to show this product image right here. So right here on a select red because this is the red shirt, all right? And right here you must put a price. Guys, remember, you must put a price or else people cannot actually purchase it. So here, I wanna put 49.9. Ah, Sale price. I do not want to sail a price. Let's go back up here because this is basically the same exact thing that we had before. So is it in stock? How much is it? way we have the dimensions right here, shipping class, ship intact, etcetera. And then here you can give an additional description about the product. But I just want to put the actual product and the actual price, and that's about it. So I'm gonna go ahead and close this right now by clicking on this. Now I want to select the blue one as well. So we're here. Click on Mystery here and then select the blue. And then we're here, put a price on 34 99 and then, you know, you can always, you know, put it on sale whenever you want to do so also for deport form values. So by default, what do you want it to select? Well, I wanted to select the red by default. So when someone clicks on the item, it's going to first suggest the bread item. And then, you know, if you want, you can put it on blue or whatever you want. There you go. So right, here's click on save changes. Okay. And then again, you know, that's basically how we add a variation. So you'd first go to the tributes habit, not a product, or I'm sorry. Add the attributes and then we hear you do these variations. So let's go ahead and test this out right now. So we have the product. Go ahead and publish it now. And if all is well, it should work. Fine. So let's go to view products and right here more by default. It selected the red product and then right here. If I go to blue, it's going to recommend the blue one as well. Ok, so that is an example of one variation. But let's just say you want to add to variations cause you know, if you're selling clothes, you know you're gonna have to have two variations because you might want to have a certain color and a source in size. So let's go ahead and add to variations. So I'm gonna go ahead and redo the product and just add different variations. So right here, under my tributes, I'm gonna go ahead and remove this, okay? And again, if you go Teoh your variations, we have this bomb and go ahead. Remove all this right here just to start from scratch to so you guys exactly how this works . Okay, so let's go ahead and added the attribute again. So we're here This issue size so size hoops. I spelled it wrong. We have small, medium and large used for all variations. Click on safe. So now we don't size. Let's add a second attribute. So here, click on add And we're going to add color color stew red and then blue used for all variations and go to save attributes. All right, so next we go to variations and we're going to add all of those variations. So create variation from all attributes. Click on go. And right here, There. Are you sure you want to do this? Just click on. Yes. Never look at the warning sites. I'm just getting so here. We have six variations added guys, so six variations added. So we have these small read small blue, medium red, medium blue, large red and the large blue. So you guys will need to go through each of these products and set the image and the dollar amount for each one. If you guys don't have it, it's it will not work. OK, so right here. Small red. Go ahead and select this right here. Small red. Now, guys, this is probably the hardest thing about. I'm sorry. This is probably the most complicated product. So if you have, like, you know, 1000 variable products feel bad for you, but in general of variable products are the hardest to set up. But everything else is pretty much easy. So you don't have any viral products? Don't worry about it's But you know, if you have tons of herbal products, it's gonna take a lot of time. Teoh create. It's so remember for each one medium red, medium blue. So I hear medium blue I'm a select the blue shirt and then so, like the price and then here for the large red Miss like this right here, go to large red and then we'll put a price. And then again, we will set that for the large blue as well. And again, guys, remember, you can have as many variations as you want for your website. So large blue. All right, so I think that's all correct. All right, so let's go ahead now and go to this. Actually said this the default as blue and then you can also set the actual one you wanted to be on but I don't know. You know what you would want. So remember, this is default form value. So by default it's going to show a medium blue. So it's Goto updates. All right, let's go and take a look at our product view product. So again it is medium blue by default. And let's go ahead and just select a small red. I just can see small red $20. So I put on ours for all of them. So this guy's is an example of a variable products. If you want to have different variables, this is how you do it. And again we have, like our, you know, a product description, etcetera. Everything there. Okay, so that is an example of a variable product. All right, so let's go and do the next product, which we're going to do group products. So here we go 3. Grouped + Digital + Extra: products. So here we go to plus new and go to product. Now, here, of course, you can add in some description, So I'm just gonna go ahead and quickly grab some just dummy description right here. Because by now we understand what long tail onshore shale is right here. I'm a select group product. Now, up here, we're gonna go ahead and grab some other description, and then right here, I'm gonna put this in a product. A short description right there. Okay, so I said a group product. Now, right here. I want to set a product image. So I want to select the iPhone, and that's it, guys. So that's basically that's it. Yeah, I know. Right? So here, click on Publish. Okay, so we created the group product. So now what we need to do is I'm gonna go in close these things. It is really annoying. So now what we need to do is actually create, um e I guess you can say child product for the group product. So right here, click on, add new. Now we're basically gonna create, like, for example, 16 Giga bytes. And then right here, you don't need to put nothing also right here, and it's been nothing. I'll explain why in just a little bit, because we already really have description for the group product. So you can add more right here if you'd like, Um, it's up to you. But you got to put, like, a great deal, and right here just going to put a price. So how much does this product cost? How much does the 16 gigabytes costs? Well, we're gonna go and put it right there. We don't need to add a product image won't eat anything, but we will need to actually hide this product. Now, I'll explain why, Once we actually create the products are here, click on edits and go to hidden, click on OK, and then go to publish. So explain why once I actually show you the actual product. So we credited 16 gigabytes. So now let's actually go back to our original group product and add the 16 gigabytes inside the iPhone. So go back to the original iPhone product right here. Now, right here on a scroll down. We'll go to link products. So right here we have 16 and it's gonna show up right here. 16 gigabytes. And of course you can, ADM. Or but I'm just gonna add one for now and then click on update. Okay, so let me go to view product now, and there you go. So right now, it shows the default price as $200 because there's nothing else to offer it. Basically. So it's on Lee 200. So right here they can select 200. They have description Now, remember how we created the you know how? We added, like, the great deal in everything. It doesn't really show up. So everything that you really put there isn't really going to appear. So that's why I said Doesn't really matter what you put so right here. We just have $200 for 16 gigabytes. So let's go ahead and just add one more product to it just to give you guys an example of you know how it really works. So right here, plus new go to product and I'm gonna enter in 32 gigabytes now. So 32 gigabytes and then right here, I'll set a price for $600.6 dollars. That's too much, $600. And it's a simple product again. I'm just gonna go ahead and just simply you go ahead and, um, publishing. But make sure to hide it, guys, so make sure to hide it. And the reason why you want to do that, Because do you really want to create a product randomly called 32 gigabytes and you would you wanted to appear on your shop. So right here. If I go to view products, Do you really want it to look like this? No, you don't want to like this, right? You wanted to add it to the iPhone, so that's why we hide it. So people don't go to our website and see something like this right here, which is really ugly, really unprofessional. And people wouldn't understand what this even means. Like they're taking goodbye to what you know. But if we add it to the apparent product, it'll make more sense. So now that we create a product, let's go ahead and go back to our iPhone and add it inside of the product. So right here under iPhone, I'm a click on edit. And then right here in the link products, we're gonna type in 32 gigabytes Emission shop right there and click on update. All right, now here I'm click on a view product, so that looks a little bit more professional. So right here we have the original 16 gigabytes, and then they construct a quantity, and then right here they have 32 gigabytes, which is $600 they can simply selecting a mouth and added to the carts and Paula, There you go. Now again, guys, I hate to bring this up right now, but if you guys are using hosting, I recommend using site crown. I do have a 60% discount in the description, because with site ground, you actually get the free SSL, so I'll talk more about that a little bit later. But the s S L's are basically the only way people can check out on your website. So, you know, I highly recommend site ground for hosting, So we made the simple product we made the very product and the group product. Let's go ahead now and create the digital product, which is really simple, really fast. So plus new and right here, I'm gonna do, uh, let's see what we do. A virtual will do phone call phone call, and then again right here. We can go ahead and just grab the description right here. So remember, long until description right here. So I hear you might want to put like, um, no attorney phone call. You could put whatever you want right here. And then you can set a price. I'll put $1000. And then I said an image. So right here I will select. What's a good one for attorney, huh? Let's find out this. This would not be good for an attorney. Know what kind of attorney are? You know, uh, this we go, we got this guy's He's happy. He's happy guy, you know? So right here, under the product data, we can select a simple product and selected virtual. Now we can basically do I can teach you both. So, guys, the only difference between a virtual and a downloadable is that a virtual there is no download. That's it. So virtual you can see the shipping disappears because there's no virtual and that's it. People will buy and check out. Now, if you want to have a downloadable product, you can select this right here. So I'm going to do is click on, add the file, choose the file and simply go ahead and upload whatever fall you want. Such is your e book to your server. And then, you know, put this picture inter Oral. How many times can download it well up? Unlimited download expired. You know you can go ahead and put the number of days that you want to expire. So you're saying this is not good for 30 days. That's all you get. 30 days, and then from there you go ahead and just click on Publish. So that's pretty easy. So virtual again. If you click on this, it's not going to allow anyone to Della anything. And if you click on download a bowl, it's going to basically, you know, allow people to download a downloadable product. WooCommerce Settings: Okay, so now we're gonna talk about the Wu Commerce General settings now, depending on your theme, there are some integrations with who commerce on your actual theme customizer. When you install the will commerce plug in, You guys can actually go to woo commerce. If not, you can, you know, uncheck it. Display stock display formats. Add ons are good. Check out add ons. You know, you guys could just kind of understand these and read them. You can purchase them from here. There's other sites you can buy them from. So if you guys want you guys can check out my tutorial on each of these plug ins, they're pretty good. They're pretty helpful. Ah, Status right here. This gives you status. Generally, when you have problems with blue commerce or you need help, they're gonna ask you for a lot of this stuff right here, Like the system reporting everything. So this stuff is generally for, like, logs. It's for, well, commerce services. And it's basically for the blue commerce team if you have support. So that's basically what these tabs All right, here. All right, here we have the report section, so this just basically gives you an idea of how much money you're making. So I have a test set up right here for stripes. So you guys can see an example right here. I mean, $410. You guys can check it by year by month, etcetera. This stuff right here is pretty self explanatory. You can see the customers you can see like the stock. So what's being sold? And of course, you guys can also see, like, the taxes and everything else if you set that up on your website. So it's just another way for you guys to kind of like, you know, look at your out of stock. Low stock, most stock, you know, whatever you know you need right there. So though, that this is like the report section. So whenever you make sales or stock or taxes or customers, this is where you're going to go. Okay, so that is the report section. Now, let's do coupons. So I'm gonna show you how to create your first coupon right now. 5. WooCommerce Coupons: no. So here we go to add a coupon, and then we hear I'm gonna put, uh, I'll put Darryl. Is the coupon saved 50%. So we have different discount types, So here we have a percentage or we have a fixed cart or a fixed product discount. So a percentage discount is, for example, 50% off. So what that means is a specific product will be knocked off $50 you have to set that with the uses restriction. You have to basically combine. That's to make it work. So it's up to you if you want either a fixed product discounts, which is a specific product discount on Lee. A fixed carte discount, which is a dollar amount. So remember that means $50 out of the cart, or you can have a percentage discount, which is saying I'm giving 50% off with this coupon. Now, if you guys want automated taxes, there is a plugging, I think, installed by default called Will Commerce Services. If you have that plug in installed, it will work. I'll give you an example of the plugging just to make sure you guys know what it is. So right here you have will commerce services. So this will do automatic calculation, live shipping rates, and it will print a shipping label, etcetera. OK, so that's basically how I got the shipping label on everything else. And I'll talk more about the shipping labels when you talk about shipping. So let's go ahead and go back to will commerce and go to settings now, guys, taxes kind. Ah, it's kind of you know, So, uh, right here we go to tax. So I want to enable automated taxes. Now, I don't have to, but right now, I'm gonna go ahead and leave that automated. Just give an example of how it works. Uh, prices entered with tax, so no, I will answer prices exclusive of tax. So what that means is do you want your products to have the tax included? If you do, you click on there. If not, your click right there. Generally, you probably want to put No, you don't really want to put your product with tax because it just looks ugly and that the mail is gonna be kind of weird. So calculate the tax based on two cuppers, the customer shipping address, billing address or the shop based address. Now, I am no accountants, but generally I would want to leave this as customer shipping address because that's probably where they live and purchase the product shipping tax class right here. I'm gonna put standard. We have reduced rate zero rate, and then we have shipping tax based on card items. So I'm going to explain with those three sections are it's basically like categories, guys, that's it's basically that's it. Just categories they just made it sound a bit more complicated than it really is. Right here we have reduced rate zero rates, and then you can put mawr. If you want your basically putting categories in. That's really all you're doing. So, uh, display prices in the shop, excluding tax right. That makes sense. Or you can have an exclude, including tax. If you'd like, display prices during cart and check out excluding tax, so it's not going to show them the tax when is in the car and check out process. So you kind of want to throw it in the way at the end, you know, which is ideal. You know, you don't want to like though the tax at them right away, because that might discourage them from buying Andrew Carver's kind of knows that. So that's why they exclude the tax right there. So ah, price display subjects. We can go ahead and put your, you know, price display subjects, so define the text to show after your product prices, so I would just leave that blank right there. I would not put anything there and display tax totals as a single as a single total or itemized. Generally, you want to leave this as a single total you can put as itemized, but then your tax total can be a little convoluted. So right here, I'm gonna put save changes, and I'll explain how that works in just a little bit. So we have our settings sets. Now we're here. We have standard rates. So let's go to click on standard rates. All right, so right here we have a country club. I'm gonna go ahead and remove this and start from scratch. So let's say, for example, you have a specific standard rate, so we we can get very technical here. So for the country code, I'm gonna put United States right there. Now, you guys can even set the tax rate for a specific state, depending on where they're subject to. So you guys can actually go to tax jar dot com now, depending on their where they live from, you have to charge them tax accordingly. But for example, right here, let's click on Montana. So Montana sales tax rate is zero. If you click on Nevada, we have sales tax rate of 6.85%. So, for example, Montana has a zero tax rate. So right here for the state code? I don't know Montana. So basically, what I've done is, if someone buy something from Montana, they're going to get a 0% tax rates. Okay, Now, let's get a little bit more complicated, So I'm gonna go ahead and make another one right here. Us. And I'm going to California. So right here, I'm gonna put the rate of California, which is 7.25%. Okay, 7.25%. And then we here. Do you want tax on top of shipping? Yes. And you can actually read, You know, is is it taxable on shipping, etcetera? So, um, you guys might want to go through tax chart and read a little bit about this, because again, I can't really give any advice on how you would tax your business accordingly. But there are some states. There are some states where you would have to, um, Tarzan Tax, basically where they're from or where you're from. That list is on here. So you guys might want to go ahead and check. Check this out. But anyways, so let's just say, for example, we're gonna go ahead and check out another one. So right here we have. Let's check out this one right here. So in, uh, things pick another one. This pick Sacramento, Sacramento, The tax rate is eight points to 5% so it's a little bit higher than California's sales tax rate. Right here. So right here you can actually create a 2nd 1 such as us and then go ahead and put this and then we can actually find the postal code for the actual um, you know, we could put 95835 and the people from that rate 983 wasn't 93. 35 95835 OK, 95 85. So people from that specific ZIP code are gonna be charged a sales tax of 8.25%. Now again, it depends on what state that you are selling it from. I will link this article for tax star in the description below. Because sales tax can always be a little complicated. And, you know, it's it's always a great area is not a great area, but it's a little complicated. There are some plug ins that will actually speed up this process. Now, Tax Star has their own plug in. I will leave a link in the description of this video. So I hear you type in blue commerce tax plug in. Now, this will make everything a lot easier. So right here this will actually automatically do all the taxes for you. If you want to go ahead and use tax jar, you can also use will commerce by default. Okay, now some. Actually, I believe a lot of the digital digital goods aren't subject to tax. So if you're in California, for example, digital goods are not subject to tax. So if you're selling digital products and attacking people, you shouldn't because digital products do not have a sales tax in California. However, in certain states they do. So you might want to triple check on tax charge to find out exactly what it is again. You know, I would recommend doing the automation because, quite frankly, this could get a little complicated, but I'm going to still explain what these other ones are. Okay, So basically have selected a standard tax rate for Montana now it reduced tax rates. So let's say, for example, a specific part of Los Angeles has a discounted rate. So let's go ahead and give you an example going to go ahead and go over here to this one right here. So in Bakersfield and Kern County, they have a rate of 7.250 So right here on foot, country code, USA cats, and then we hear, see a And then here I'm gonna put 7.250 and then I would select the zip code for whatever from its there somewhere, you know, it's sea or somewhere, so we could just grab one Syria here. Well, when you create products, you can actually set a specific product for a specific tax rates. So let's say, for example, you are selling digital products and you're selling regular products. You might want to put a 0% tax rates on digital products, since in California, digital products are not subject to sales tax. So let's give you an example. Products to go to all products. I'm a go to girl shirt right here, and I'm gonna go click on edit product, all right? And right here under our to you ever inventory or general. Okay, so right here, under tax class, weaken, Select standard Reduced rate or zero rate. So here. I'm actually selecting this product now to be in the reduced rate class, so this product will be taxed 7.75%. So that's an example of how you can select a specific tax class. Okay, so him quick update. Okay, so let's go ahead now and check out the products. All right, here we go to view products. We're gonna go Teoh, check out. Oh, I gotta advocates a cart really quick. So sorry. At the cart. Go to view the carts and I'm gonna go ahead and get rid of this one. And then I go to proceed to check outs. Okay, So the tax right there is accordingly. So it's charging me seven points, whatever of that. So that's basically the tax rate. It's it's setting me because that is a tax rate. I added for that specific product. Okay, so that's an example of basically categories. And if you look at the other tax rate, there are zero. So, for example, right here I go back to my commerce and go to settings. And if we go to our other one right here for R zero tax rate. You can basically just set a zero tax rate right here, So zero rate rates. So these ones right here, you might want to put like there is no tax or whatever, So it basically just helps you categorise specific items for that. So that's basically what the standard rate means. Reduced rate and disease rates as well. So right here I'm a click on reduced rates. I'm gonna go ahead and just delete all of these and click on safe senate rates right here. Go ahead and remove those as well and click on safe. All right. And tax options. I want to enable automatic taxes, and I'm gonna go ahead and save it right there. So I'm gonna go ahead and add in a few products right here and again. Remember that that the taxes based on the shipping address So right now it's based off my personal shipping address. However, if you want to do it's to like their billing address, you can do that. I'm sorry. Their customer shipping address. So it's based off the customers shipping address. Or you can do shop base address, which is your shop, such as? Like where you're from, So your mythic on save. Now I'm going to actually give you an article or basically lets you know which states are subject to tax based off where you're from or based off where they are from. Okay, so I found an article that might help some of you if you decides to have taxes, not automated. So basically, there are some states where you would actually charge based off where you're from or based off destination. So they call origin of assassination based and right here they have lists of origin based sales tax. So again, if you read this, if you live in one of these states, you should be charging everyone in your state the rate of where your business is located. So where your business located, such as Arizona, California you would be charging the sales tax based off where you're from. However, if you are based in different states such as these ones right here, you would be charging people based off where they are from, so it can be a little complicated, guys. So again, you have three options. Your first option is to use blue commerce automated taxes. Your second option is to use the will calmer. I'm sorry, the tax star plug in that is available with who? Commerce, or you can actually do it yourself and go through each state and set it up yourself if you would like. Now, if you're just from one state, obviously from California, that would probably be really easy to set like such as Arizona, these ones. But if you're not, if you're from somewhere of like Georgia or Hawaii, Idaho, you would need to charge sales tax base off where they are from. So again, I'll leave the articles. You can read more about it, Um, and also the tax rates for each state's again, those your three options. So it's pretty much up to you at this point. You know, this is your business. I am just basically showing you the doors and you're gonna kind of walk to them and, you know, do whatever you want for your business. OK, so guys, that was a quick rundown of sales tax. It can be a little complicated, but if you are, you know, using the automated system, it will make your life so much easier because it will charge tax accordingly. Okay, so the next section we're gonna go to shipping, so I'll see you in the shipping section. 7. WooCommerce shipping: All right, guys, Welcome back. We are now in the shipping section of the Soto riel. Now, quick heads up. A shipping is very, very dynamic. So there are so many different ways you can go shipping, and I'll do my best to help you decide what is the best option for you. So first, let's go to Will Commerce and go to settings. Now, the first thing I'm going to do guys, is set up the automated taxes. I'm sorry, the automated shipping. Then we're gonna go to regular shipping. We're gonna go to different styles of shipping, and I'm gonna go to shipping classes. Okay, So if you're looking for a specific part, just bear with me while I do each specific section. So right now, I'm gonna do at a shipping zone. So now I'm basically selecting a shipping zone. So what? I want to ship to you. Well, this is for the U. S. A. So United States, United States. And right here I want to add a shipping method so I can add a flat rate shipping. So no matter what people pay, they're gonna play a flat rate. I can do free shipping. I can do local pick up or I can do USPS who commerce services. So this is the 1st 1 I'm going to do right here, and I'm gonna goto add a shipping method. All right, now, right here. I'm a click on this, and we need to basically set up what kind of rates and services that we need. So I want to select party male and, um, maybe first class mail or something like that. And then here you can actually select, like, what kind you want. I'm just gonna select all of them now if you want to set a price adjustment for each one. So maybe you want still, I charge someone. Hey, you know, usually costs. I want people toe to pay for my tape, you know? So here, I'm gonna put like, a dollar extra fee for each specific one. On top of whatever USPS rates are pulled. Now, you can also do a percent, so you want to add, like, you know, 10%. You can add that as well. That's pretty high. But you know, you are the boss, so you can make whatever decisions you want. So basically, these already rates on top of whatever USPS pulls from. Okay, so I'm gonna go ahead just like zero for these just because I'm just going to let us ps decide how much it costs. And again, you might want to adjust it. Because remember, you're paying for, like, supplies and stuff like that right here. Show all available rates, ordered the customer choose, or we can just slay. You know what? Just show the cheapest rates. Ah, fall back rate. So in the case that something happens to boo commerce or something What fall back rate you want to show? So, for example, let's say the plug and breaks and it doesn't work by default. What rate you want a chargeable for shipping? Well, we can say $6 right? $76. And then right here we have retail and commercial now refusing who? Commerce services. You are automatically on commercial. However you can go always go ahead. And so, like retail, depending on what kind of deal that you have with the post office and right here for packaging, you might want to dio, you know, package items together for as few as possible to make it easier. Okay, Now I'm gonna go ahead and go to safe. Now again, guys. Remember, you must set the dimensions for the product for this to properly work. So what I mean by that? Let's go ahead and go to products, all products. I'm a go to girl shirt right here. Now, right here. You can see that under my inventory right here. Or is it my shipping that I have the ounces and the dimension set? So basically, USPS needs to know You know how big your product is, how much is away so they can charge you accordingly for shipping. So you need to make sure that that is set for your products in order for the automation to work. All right, so it's going now and tested. I'm gonna go ahead and visit site. That's going to buy something now. So right here, I'm a go to actually gonna go ahead and empty my car really quick. Oh, I can actually empty right here. So here are my goats to exit. All right. Time to go to a shop. I'm gonna go ahead and select the girl shirt and it to the courts. Okay. And then do the car. Okay, so you guys can see now is pulling all of the ones that I selected and the ones that are available for me. So I have priority mail. I have first class mail, first class package services and a flat rate. So that's pretty cool that you can select or the customers can select what they want for their product. OK, so that is example of how automation works. And again you can like no selected from quantities, and it will adjust accordingly. OK, so I basically showing you how to do the automation for your website. But for most of you, you might want to be a little bit more in control of shipping costs. Correct. The automation sounds great by theory, but sometimes you might want to be just a little more in control of your shipping. So let's go ahead and do that. So here I go to shipping and ah, let's go ahead now and do another shipping zone. Not really quickly. If you guys go to shipping options right here, you guys can like, you know, do some options right here. So shipping destination default to customers shipping address, which is probably what you want to do, right? Not unless they put Billy, but you probably won't put as shipping address because that's why people put shipping address, right, shipping classes. We'll talk about in just a little bit packages. That is for the automation of shipping. So basically, you want want to add a specific package right here. You can always do like, a service package, and then select them whatever ones you need right here for, you know, your service package. Or you can go ahead and putting your own custom package, depending on what you are selling for your product. All right, Um, so that's basically packages shipping labels we will talk about, um at the end of this section, right here it corresponds Teoh basically putting our shipping labels for your automation, But I just want to go over the other options before we go into shipping labels. So let's go in and add a new ER. That's just quick on this right here. And ah, right here we have USPS, So I'm gonna go ahead and delete this now so I don't want that anymore. At a shipping method, we have a flat rates, free shipping and local pickup. So a local pick up guys will basically charge whatever amount you wanted to charge. So, um, some of you probably don't even use local pick up. But if you decide to use it, you can go ahead and put the cost right there. Pretty simple. So if you if you're stores like a mom and pop shop and you have a local pick up on Lee, you can put the amount right there. I don't want to do that, but I'm just showing you how it works. We can also do free shipping. So if you wanna have free shipping for your products and you don't want to charge people shipping it all, you can always just do free shipping. But it requires a minimum order amounts. So here you have free shipping requires you can put a valid shipping coupon, a minimum order amount, the minimum order or a coupon, or the worst one, which is minimum order and a coupon, which would be stupid, because if you did this and people didn't go over the amounts, but they had a coupon, it's going to say that there are no shipping methods available because they have to reach a certain amount. So maybe something a minimum amount of like, uh, I don't know, 20 bucks. But remember, if they purchase less than $20 it's going to tell them they have no shipping rates available because they don't qualify for the free shipping. And we have no other rates set. So you need to create another flat rate for 1 to $19.99 for free shipping for that to work . Okay, hope you understand how that works. So you need to one you need to sipping things if you wanted to get really technical, but that's an example of free shipping. Next, let's talk about the most probably standard one, which is flat rate. So what do you want to charge for flat rate for your product? For shipping? Well, I want to charge $10. All right, $10. Let's just start off really basic. We are going to get a little bit more advanced in a little bit, but let's just keep it simple right now. So here I go to my flotsam tutorial and go to my shop. And sometimes guys, if you are messing around with this and sometimes this happens where nothing pulls up, you have to kind of like, you know, refresh it and do it over again because sometimes it will save on your my Schiavo. So right here I'm to go to add a product, you the carts. And now you can see the flat rate is $10. Now, no matter how much I add, it's going to still be $10. Okay, so right now it's still $10. So that is an example of a flat rates. Um, it's pretty. It's pretty standard. Pretty simple to understand right now. There are some new features of Will commerce where we can get a little bit mawr. I guess you can say advanced. So there are some short codes that you confined. There is quantity, costs and fee. So right here select quantity times $5. So basically, I'm saying for every product in the cart, I want to charge $5 for shipping. So right here I have quantity times, Dash five, go to save changes. I believe it's 5-0 have toe. I have to check it out really quick. So let's see here. So I will leave the There's an article for this guy's in the description. So you guys can go ahead and check it out to Mr Make sure you guys understand the short codes. There are sort of short codes for it, But again, this is if you want to get very advanced and you really wants to, um you know, B is customizable. Is you want so right here is gonna check out. All right, so here we have the sub total issue here. The shipping card. So right now, we have a flat rate of $5 because right here you guys can see that I charge quantity of $5 per quantity. So let's go ahead and add more. Let's go ahead and test the south Deceive. This is working correctly. So I'm gonna go ahead and add in five now. So now you guys can see the flat rate is now $25 because, remember, we're multiplying it per product. So if you want to have that kind of approach for your your store, you can go ahead and do that as well. Okay, so that is basically a quantity. I will leave the short codes for well commerce in the script. There's a small video guys cause they also have, like, ah fi dash equal product like it gets really advanced. And I'd rather you watch their documentation and video because even myself, sometimes I don't understand. Like they have like short codes that they have like three or four short codes like conditions like conditional logic, so it could get very advanced. Like if they spend $10 you have three products, you need 5% back. It's it's crazy. I'm like, OK, I don't get it s Onex. Let's go ahead and do something a little bit more simple. Let's just do a cost per cent. So right here I have a cost percentage of five. So let's go ahead and say that now. That should make a really high amount. Let's see if this works. Okay? I'm gonna go ahead and close this right here and real my shopping cards and this. Go ahead and shop around a Let's go buy something cool overturned a shop. I love this thing also again. So I basically said I want to charge five times, but that was way too much. And I'm charging 5% of whatever the car total cost. All right, so let's go ahead now and redo that just to make sure you know it works. Also, guys, depending on your hosting a theme, just empty out the car and do it over again because you conceive a unifier, fresh it. It doesn't work properly. So let's go ahead and buy something over here. All right? And you to this, the cards. All right, So now you can see $5 it's being charged $5 because 5% of $100 is $5. So let's just, you know, change it just toe be a little bit more customizable. So 8% now. So let's go ahead now and empty this and I'm going to just read only grab another item and it should charge me 8% over the product cost. So right here. Ah, $100. They should charge me $8 in shipping and Paula, flat rate shipping, $8. So if you want to go ahead and add in a percentage, you can go ahead and do that, or you are more than welcome to just enter in a specific cost of just $10. So I hope you understand how that works. I'm not gonna go over the fee because the fee can get a little bit more advanced. I will leave documentation for you in the description, but for most of you probably just can use a quantity or a percentage, right? I mean, that's basically it. You can get very advanced, such as, like a purr, like a minimum amount and all that stuff it gets crazy. So I basically showing you guys how automation works. I've shown you how the flat rate works. I've shown you different styles on how to use that. But let's say now, for instance, that you have specific products that you need to be charged a specific amounts. So let's just get a little bit more advanced here, okay? And this is very ideal for someone who's selling very large products like refrigerators. If you're shipping refrigerators, you might want to set shipping classes. So right here we have a shipping class, all right? And I'm going to go ahead and out of shipping class. So this is gonna be special shipping. Four fridges are Yeah, for fridges. And I'm going Teoh save the shipping class. Okay, so, no, we to assign a product for the shipping class. So right here we go to products, and I'm going to select girl shirt again. She is popular today. Wear used here for all of our images or all over stuff. So anyways, I'm gonna go ahead and leave. This is standard because we talked about taxes earlier. Shipping now, right here. Almost like special shipping. Now, sometimes guys boo commerce can conflict, you know, it's it's built based off logic conditions. So sometimes things don't work out all the time and you have to, like, kind of refresh things. Wait a little bit and it works. So I'm going to my shipping section right here, okay? And right here I go to edits All right. And right here. Now, you can also add a different shipping method. Guys, you can add a 2nd 1 so maybe you can add free shipping for people who spend, like, you know, a certain amounts. You know, people who spent under $50 are gonna get free shipping, and then anyone over free shipping the flat rate rule is going to start applying. I hope you understand how that works. So that's a good technique. An idea of what you can do. But I'm just gonna go ahead and take this out, or maybe $10 just because I don't want to interfere with what I'm doing because remember, if it's not 100% correct eyes, the rules will conflict each other. And then it could be possibly that the customer gets a no, shipping options are available. So anyways, and it's now you guys can see right here we have a new section. So shipping class cost so right here. We have special shipping class costs. So how much do you want? The special shipping costs to cost? Well, I'm gonna say, you know, for that product, they gotta pay $20. Now, remember, they're gonna pay $20 on top of the 10 right here. So whatever you put up here, this is going to basically build on top of it. Okay, So special shipping class costs will build on top of it. So I just hope you understand how that works. And again, you can always enter the rule right here. So you can say, you know what I want to charge. You know, $30 are see right here. I want to charge $30. Okay. For every shipping class cost product they buy, you can always do that as well. Let's say, for example, you have certain fridges. This would protect you to say OK, actually, no, it would be like that, right area. $30? Yeah, $30. So it would be like that. So now they're gonna pay $30 on top of whatever other costs that is. So let's go ahead and give it a try. I'm go to save changes and Let's go ahead now. And, uh, let's just go ahead and goto our shop again. Go ahead and take this out. Okay? I see now that free shipping is available. That's pretty cool. Okay, there's a reason why it's there. I just I haven't, like, looked at it yet, So anyways, um, so we're gonna go and find the product Girl shirt. All right, Now I'm going to go and add this to the cart and the the carpet. Okay, so over here we have free shipping enabled because we enable free shipping, and it meets the criteria of being over $10. Right here we have the flat rates, because, remember, the flow rate was $10 plus, the special class was $30. Okay, so that's basically how we got this amount. Now I want to go one step further and get a little bit more complicated to give you guys a more complex situation and just kind of exposed you to it and see, you know, if this is something that you might want, So I'm gonna go back over here and go my fiery. Now, right here. I'm not gonna put something like costs. So here I have. You have cost of 15%. And right here. How about $20? So what this means is that the flat rate for shipping is $10. We're going to charge this specific product. This one right here. We're gonna charge it 15% of the cost for shipping. And any class that is not in the special class that is in the cart is gonna be charged $20 . Okay, now it's not $20 per item. It's in general. So all the items, if there's one item that is not in the class, is gonna charge $20. All right, so let me just give you an example what I'm talking about. So I have nothing on save changes. Alright. And here, click on check. Now, we're gonna go in and go shopping again. We're gonna do some quick shopping, so I want to add this to the card. I want to add this of the cards and I want to add this to the cart right here. This other one right here, all that said the car to all right. Buying your one more time. All right, so I have three items. So now I will click on view to CART review cart and now our talk straight. I'm sorry. Shipping rate is $33 a certify sent. So how did we get this amount? Well, let's go and take a look. So first off, remember that the first rate is $10. Now, over here we have the know shipping class costs of $20 because thes products right here are not in a class. So any class that is not designed any class heads are in a class is gonna be charged $20 because this one right here is the special class and these have no class. So again, anything that's not in a class and charge $20. Now, this right here is charging 15% off this product. So as a result, we have 10 plus 20 plus $3 that if I sense equals $32 instead, five cents. So again, the flat rate was $10. This right here charges 20 and then 15% of 25 is this amounts right there. So I know that was a little bit more complicated, but I just want to show you how dynamic and how diverse you could make the shipping for this for this plug in. So again there's something different ways and go a shipping. So it's up to you to kind of decide what you want. You can do a percentage you could do it cost. Also, there is one more thing. There is a fee, and I will leave a small too tall for that description. Below. It is a little bit more dynamic, as far as like meeting criterias for certain pricings and everything else so it can be someone dynamic. I will leave that tutorial in the description below. OK, and they also have, like, striped check out. It's like a different way to, like, you know, check out. I'll give you an example of it. It's like a cool, hip way, you know, like a little thing pops up and it's really cool. You guys can always name a Bitcoin currency as well. You guys could have a striped check out image as well. You would probably need to link your media. So whatever follows you have in your media, you pace it right there. So let me just give you an example. And then we have, like, a payment request buttons, etcetera. So that's pretty cool. So I go to save changes right now, and let's go ahead now and test this to see how this looks. So that's going to buy something now. We can go ahead now and literally buy something, and it'll show up right in our test box. So here shop, I actually will use this right here. We'll use these product from earlier, so check out, all right, and, ah, I'm gonna go ahead and I use my credit card right here. So continues the payment. Now, you see how this little thing pops up right here. That is what I was talking about with the strike payment method. So it's just a cool hip Wait, you know, have people, you know, pay on your stuff, and then right here, you'd add in your image, okay? Because this probably looks really ugly. Right? So, um, I'm gonna put my secret information right here and pay to 80. And I got the green little cool check Mark and then your customers were brought to this page right here. Awesome. Done. Easy, simple. See that I'm talking about guys. It's super easy. That is what you want. I've seen enough. It's Toral's where they just use PayPal. And I said, why would you only use PayPal? What? You stupid? You know, like, this is way better. And let's go ahead now and go to our home. Now you guys can see $280.13. Bala Simple No guys. The only difference is by simply going to the A p I and taking off the test data. If you take that off, then it's really money. So people must use real money at that point. So it's the same thing for test data and then for regular. So what? You guys are ready for your side to go live. You do the same exact being. Just take your stuff. You copy and paste it right there on your site. Super easy. And you can sit like your payments from striped to go to your bank account like once a month. You can do it once a day. And let's just say you don't want the You don't want that little box right there. So for stripe, we can take that box off. And lastly, guys, the last part I'm going to show you is how to add the add new butts into, um, What's it called to ah, your products? Sorry. Here we have enable stripe check out. So now what you do that you'll get something that looks like this right here and then place , order. And remember, still in test mode. So, um, you know, you can enter whatever credit card you wants, and it'll just basically run. It's and you will need an SSL guys for stripe. So if you are using another hosting company doesn't give you an SSL, you're going to purchase it or use my recommend hosting site ground dot com. Um, so there you go. You know, easy, simple, right. That's basically it. Now, one last thing. If you guys, you know, I don't know if this will work for all themes. It works for My theme is adding the instant payment. So I talked about in the beginning historial on how we're gonna add it. Instant payment. So what's going to click on this now? Here we have by now. So someone clicks like this. You go ahead and buy product right away, which is really, really cool. So if you guys want to have this feature, I believe it is this feature right here were charged capture start immediately. You would need that check right there. And now basically authorize it and make it really, really easy for people to purchase on your website. If you take it off, it's gonna disappear. And then if you guys want to decorate that butts in, you guys can actually do it right here. So, like, lights or light outline, etcetera. So that's basically how that works. So you guys can, like decorated stuff like that, the buy button, So it looks pretty cool. I think it's actually this one right here. Enable payment request. But yeah, let's see here and then we'll charge the card immediately. I think that's how it works. Sometimes when you're working on your sites, your, uh your cash doesn't clear all this way. So that's probably what But it was actually the capture button right there. So I'm sorry. The pain. A request button. So if you guys wanna have that, you can click that, and then it makes it very fast and easy. And of course, you can always decorated. So a light outline to see how that looks really quick.
