1. Quick Start with OBS & Course Introduction: Hello, everybody. Christer. And in this video, I want to show you guys pretty much everything that you need to know in order to record or stream videos from with an O. B s open broadcaster software. So this should more or less be a complete guide for beginners getting started. So when you first open O B s, you'll notice a preview window in the centre. Whatever is being fed into this window is what your viewers are going to see, whether you're according to a file or streaming live to a site like Twitch TV or YouTube. So everything that's contained within this preview window is stored inside a scene. So when you have different setups, perhaps one for each game, or maybe have one for screen casting one for doing a Webcam flog style video. Then there was all get port into their own new scene and inside of the scenes, How you actually make stuff show up is by adding in sources. So, generally speaking, these are going to be video sources that could be images that can be a screen on your computer. It can be a window from your computer, so, like oh bs is its own window here, But that could also be a Web browser or a game sometimes. And you can also add in game capture, which has a few extra settings, such as being able to capture specifically full screen applications, which are usually going to be games. But inside of a game capture. You can also select a specific game from the less if you want to always make sure that a scene is associated with a specific. So whenever you want to create a scene, you click on the plus button in the bottom left hand corner, and then you give it a name. So, for instance, I could just call this tutorial scene and then that will pop up in your list of scenes. So now, in order to make anything show up, we're going to have to use some video sources. So, for instance, I conveyed Click here, go to add, and here's a display capture. So this would be selecting one of my monitors for display inside of O. B s. You can give it a name if you want, so I could say this is monitor one. So as soon as you do that you'll see one monitor pop up. Generally, you default monitor one, but you can select other monitors from the display selection. If you have them. Capture cursor is checked by default, So as long as you want to be able to show people where you curse is moving around the screen, you probably leave that settle there. So another source that we could add in would be an image So this could be a overlay or could be a logo you want to display. So, for instance, I'll go to right click add image, and I'll just call this Obi esto logo here, hit, enter and select an image from my computer. So inside of my pictures logos folder, I have some Locos we can bring in here, So I used the open broadcasters software loco. Note that one hovering over it. You can see that the dimensions of this bio are huge, so it's gonna happen as soon as we put it in is that it is going to appear larger than our entire video screen temporarily. To get rid of this recursive lee showing the screen effect I'm actually going to hide monitor one so you can do that by clicking on the eyeball next to any source. Another thing to note here is the sources will show from top to bottom, so Theo Bs logo is currently on top because it's the 1st 1 in the list. But if I move that below the monitor, you can see that we can't see the obese Loco anymore because the display capture is covering the entire screen. So I'm gonna keep that on top, which is usually what you'll do with images I'll hide. Monitor one by clicking on the eyeball. If you want to lock any of these sources in place as well, you can click on the lock signs. So when you have the lock enabled, you won't be able to accidentally move that source if later you are trying to adjust the position of things. So when you have a source inside of your list here, you can left click on the screen where that sources located to select it surviving other sources locked is gonna be handy here because we won't be able to accidentally select them . And now, with the image, you'll see these corner markers on each of the four corners, and they also have some in the middle's, so you use these points in order to adjust your image. So, for instance, if I left click here and I pulled this end wards, you'll see that the image is shrinking as retake the original size of the image. And we re size it for our video. So I'm going to keep dragging this until we get it to a size that's actually compatible with the screen. So there I was originally from a huge source file. We can resize it so that it's much more modest on the screen. I'll just leave it centered right there for now. So one more thing that you can do with these re sizer markers is you can hold all down and you can pull in the sides if you want to crop part of the top left bottom or right away. So holding out, down and left clicking, you can see that I can turn this lying Corinne and Poor Edwards in order to hide part of the image that we may not want to see. So this is more useful if you actually have a webcam added on a video capture device. You guys how to set that up in a little while, but for now, just no holding out, down and left clicking on a side, you can pull it in and crop away anything you don't want to show. And obviously, to move your source around the screen, you left click and you hold and drag it to way you want it to go. So next let's talk about configuring some basic settings, go up to the file menu and choose settings. One thing that you're definitely gonna want to check on is your video tab here. So in video you'll see a base canvas resolution and an output scaled resolution. So the base canvas resolution is usually going to be set to the same resolution that your monitor is up to. And generally, if you like me, you also play your games full screen at the maximum resolution of your monitor as well. So what? This base canvas resolution value really means is that whenever you have your preview window showing here, how many pixels are you looking at in the original resolution? So in this case, it would be 1920 across by 1080 high. Now what you can do, but I usually prefer not to, is to have output scaled resolution if you want to downsize the video resolution to a lower value. So in some cases, when you come in here by default, you'll see that the output scaled resolution actually has a lower value, such as 12,080 pixels by 720 pixels. Now what this would mean is that it would take your original 1920 pixels by 1080 and downsize it Teoh 1280 by 720 when you're out, putting it to a file or toothy livestream now, sometimes that could be OK if you have, ah, slow Internet and you need to be broadcasting at a lower resolution because your Internet bit rate simply can't support, say, 1080 p or higher. Or you could also scale it down if you want smaller file sizes. But if you want to capture the most detail, then you would generally want the set to the original value. So go into the video menu and make sure that that's set to how you you prefer. In my case, I almost always have the output resolution equal to the base wrestlers. So the next thing you'll notice here, if I move the settings out of the way, is that in this mixer section at the bottom of O. B s, you see desktop audio, which would be capturing the sounds that you would hear through your speakers on your computer. Basically, whatever audio information is going on, usually capturing game audio or beeps from your computer if you have music playing off that goes into desktop audio, but you'll see that there's no microphone in this audio mixer. Generally, you would want to capture a microphone. So if you want to capture a microphone in your audio, go up to the audio menu here and you'll see Mike Auxiliary audio here. This is where you can select a microphone from your computer. You can also click that dropped down and set it to default. And what that would mean is that whenever you have a microphone selected as your computer default, then it will automatically select that microphone to be your microphone auxiliary audio device. The same applies to desktop audio. You can actually have your computer output to multiple speakers, for instance, You see here Rio talk high definition audio would be referring to my laptop speakers, but USB audio device would be referring to the headset I'm wearing. If you started to default, then it will capture the same audio that goes to the default output device on your computer . So if you find yourself switching between devices and you always want to capture the default, then you can come in peer and set. There's to default. If you prefer. You can always make sure that the exact microphone you want to use the selected by choosing it from the drop down menu. So in this case, I'll take the microphone auxiliary device and also have it to the USB audio device because they don't want to use the laptop microphone. It's not very good. So USB audio device there. And when you had apply, you should see a microphone appear in the audio mixer because I'm talking into the microphone. You can see that the audio levels are showing for that device, which is exactly what you would expect. Well, you can also do if you want to hear back what the audio sounds like is click on the Settings icon and go to advanced audio properties here. If you turn on audio monitoring, you'll be able to hear your microphone. Whatever information is being sent into the microphone on your desktop audio device by default in the Settings menu, you can also have it redirect to a specific audio device if you have a more complicated set up. So just to show real quick, I'll take the microphone and I'll turn on audio monitoring. I'll put it on monitor an output, which means that O BS will record the out port but also will be able to hear it back while we have this turned on. So you can see now that the audio appears in desktop audio as well as microphone ancillary audio and when it's in desktop audio, that would obviously be you hearing it back. One case we're actually monitoring your audio is really important is when you gonna start applying filters to your audio device. So if it click close here and we go toe the microphone auxiliary device here and go to the filters menu, you can see here that we can have a list of audio filters, so one that will usually use would be noise suppression. If you're in an area that has a lot of background noise, then you can add in the noise suppression filter, cranking up the suppression level if you need quieter audio in order to reduce things like low background hums. Also, if you've installed third party audio plug ins, you can find that in the menu here by going down to V S. T two x iradio plug in so I can add this in here and the one I'm gonna chooses Reaper Filter. I'll show you guys where to find that in a minute here. So VSE audio plucking select from the Menu Reaper. First, stand alone, we can open the plug and interface. And if I change the mode here to subtract what will be able to do is to automatically build a noise profile off what audio information should be removed from the background by actually just being quiet for a minute and letting automatically build noise profile Go for about 10 or 15 seconds. So I'll do that here and you'll see that the red line will automatically fit whatever background noise appears. Okay, so at the end of it will roughly look like that you can see as soon as they start talking again. That the audio I'm speaking into the microphone is much louder than the background noise. So it'll try to remove stuff below that point now, depending on how much your noise profile actually removed from the background, it can affect the quality of the audio. So that's why when you have these filters enabled, it's a good idea to go back to the microphone auxiliary advanced audio settings and to turn on audio monitoring so you can hear it before you actually start recording. Another audio filter I will often add, is the compressor. So the compressor will help take sounds that you speak into your device that are very loud and toned them down a little bit so that it sounds more on the loudness level off your regular speaking. Generally, I don't even find the changing the settings of really necessary here. The base settings worked pretty well. So what? Those three, you can go ahead and hit close before we move on from audio filters. So I want to show you guys where you can pick up the Reaper plug ins for free, so that's gonna be over a reaper dot f n slash r e a plugs. And when you come in here, you can find the Reaper plug ins available and 32 or 64 bit version for free. Now the Reaper plug ins you can use for free. There's also a Reaper software package, which allows you to do more complicated things involving the import and output of your audio. But that's well beyond the scope of this video. So back in O. B s, we're gonna have some more settings to go ahead and play around with. So one thing we might want to go ahead and try doing now is to set up O. B. S so that we can actually out put it to a video file and to church as well. So let's set it up for according to a video file and then also connect our account to twitch. So in file settings it can go to the output tab. Now, by default, this will be in simple mode, which you can see here. That's fine if you're just getting started, but I actually find that the advance stab isn't really that much more complicated to understand. So I'll just leave output mode in advanced here. Let's go over to the recording tab first. So on the recording tab, you'll see here recording path. This is the location on your computer where you are tryingto output your video files, too. So if you have browsing your computer, you can select a folder from your computer. It can be anywhere you want it to be. It can be on a network hard drive if you want, as long as you've connected to one. So just pick the folder. You want everything to storm for recording format. I recommend that you set that to M K V. The reason for that is the M K V files support multiple audio tracks at the same time. And if your computer happens to stop the recording randomly, such as a crash, it shouldn't lose all of the video footage. So MP four also supports multiple audio tracks. But when MP four file doesn't complete properly, you may find that the data gets corrupted. So what you can do is record in MTV and then convert that to MP four and you can see here at the bottom here. The downside of F L V format is that it doesn't even support multiple audio tracks. That's the default format, so just select here and change it to him. Katie, if you want my set up, you can see here that I have audio tracks. Two in three selected for recording. That's one for the microphone and one for the desktop audio device streaming is going to be audio track one streaming only supports one audio track, So that's why there's only one there and not to for the encoder. I found that I've gotten good results using the new version of NVIDIA NV E and C H 26 For as long as you have a NVIDIA Graphics card, it's relatively new. It should be able to support that. Okay, and then down here, you'll see rate control. So I've been experimenting Ah, a little bit with VI br, which is variable bit rate by default. This is set to CBR or a constant bit rate, so the advantage of constant bit rate what you consent to a much higher value than 2000 kill bits per second, by the way, as long as your computer is decent, but the advantage of constant bit rate is that your video will always out put the same amount of bits per second to the video files. So if variable bit rate, it might have one second recording 10,000 killer bits per second and at another second with much less movement, it'll be 2000 killed bits per second. But during the time when it jumps from that 2000 to 10,000 killer bits per second, theoretically, you may find that there are video artifacts and you lose a little bit of detail in the video. So using CBR will eliminate those artifacts from being a problem because it will always record at the same bit rate and you won't have those jumps. But variable bit rate, in theory would allow you to record a lower kill bits per second normally. And then when the encoded finds that there's a lot of movement on the screen and it needs to add in a higher bit rate in order to handle that movement, it will jump up the bit rate and have a higher quality for that time. So So in other words, it will try to use the amount of bit rate that it thinks is needed for that second but constant bit rate will always have the high quality that you set it up for. But that means that how your video sites. So it's up to you what you want to use. Generally speaking, you get decent results if you bit rate is set to 5000 more if you have. Ah, really nice computer. You can set your bit rate 10,000 kilobytes per second. But if you want a stream at 10,000 kill bits per second, you also need a good Internet connection. And that's pretty much it for the settings on the recording tap. So over on this dreaming tab, you notice audio Track One is what set up here by default. That's what I use as my streaming track, leaving the encoder as the same in video and ve and see the new version. Um, you can use variable bit rate here as well, or you could just do constant bet. Great works exactly the same way as recording to a file. You want more consistency in the video, or do you want it to be space saving where needed? So I'm gonna set this up to 8000 kilobytes per second. And that's intentionally Ah, higher value than my Internet is actually capable of at the moment. So my Internet bandwidth is 35 megabits per second. It's generally will allow you to stream at a bit rate somewhere in the six thousands, which is decent. But if you want to stream out of higher bit rate, you need a more powerful Internet connection than that. But we'll be able to see kind of what my max bit rate is when we test dreaming later. And then if we'd like, we can lower the bit rate down and the output. If your Internet connection doesn't support a high a bit rate, it'll just dream at as fast as I can to twitter or you tube. So that should be good for the streaming settings over here. But in order to stream will need to connect it to twitch or YouTube. We do that on the stream tab, so with twitch, you can connect your account directly, which I would say is the preferred way these days because it uses open authentication. So you connect to your twitch account, and it also allows you to interact with chat from straight with N O. B s, and also to set up information about your stream. So you can also use stream key here, where if you click on that, it will give you a link to your twitch dashboard and you go there, you find the stream key, and then you copy that into this area here. But we'll do the connect account option in this video, so you simply need to click on connect account and you'll get this authentication pop up window here. You just need to put in your user name and password. I'm gonna pace that in here. Now, In my case, I have two factor authentication set up a swell. So I need to go on to my phone and use the off the app in order to get the token code here . So let's just go ahead and put that in there. And you can also check Remember this computer for 30 days so that you don't need to really put in the two factor authentication anymore that I don't think you would need to anyway, because as long as you leave the church account connected in O. B s, it won't automatically go ahead and does connect the account as far as I know. So when you do that, you should see disconnect account put up here. And there was also a band with test mode. So if you enable band with test mode, what you'll be able to do is to check your Internet speed basically without actually life streaming to twitch so it will send the data Detroit's. You can see if your Internet is capable of the bit rate settings, for instance, without actually going life onto twitch. So we hit. Apply here, and you can see here the chat windows popping up the stream information window is also popping up here because I have the church account connected. If for some reason you don't see these windows or you want to hide them, go to view and do docks, and you can hide and enable chat and stream information here. Okay, so you can see in these windows pretty much the same stuff you would see on the twitch dashboard. If you go on to the website version, so you consent that title of your stream, a go live notification for your followers and your subscribers. What category your game is in. So, for instance, if you're playing hearthstone, you can set that up there. You can give you stream some useful tags. So, for instance, like ranked play or a veena play would be pretty common tax for that kind of game. You can also choose the language for your stream, so that should obviously be the language. You're gonna be broadcasting it, and you can update your information by hitting the button there at the bottom. So if you are life and you have any people following you and Fritz chat, then you'll be able to see the messages here with without even having your browser open. And you can see that these windows air detachable. So if you have other monitors, you can put all of these windows onto one screen and then play on the other. Alternatively, you can take these windows, and you can have them basically go into one section of obi Shukan. Drop them into the top down at the bottom pretty much wherever you want to put your windows . You can have them, Doc, so I can put this over here to the right, and then the stream information on the left is pretty much the default way of doing things there. So since we're in a band with test mode, we can it start streaming and see our internet connection, making sure that it is connecting to twitch. Well, so I'm gonna hit, start streaming. If you're in a band with testimony, you get up this pop up, which will say that it won't actually go life. So you need to disable it before you can really go life for real. So let's it yes, to continue. So now O B s is sending information to twitch, you should see some information pop up in the bottom, right? Especially the killer bits per second out port bit rate for your stream. You can see here I'm getting about 6200 kilobytes per second. So if you wanted, you could go in update in the settings menu for streaming and just set that to 6200 because that's pretty much what you'd be capable of with my Internet. And you can see the FPs that your streaming up. You probably want that to be consistent as well. Note that when you're recording with O. B s, it's putting a huge burden on your computer in addition to playing the game. So if you are going to be streaming something like Fortnight and ultra settings and recording with O. B s streaming that life, you are gonna need a pretty good computer for that. And you also see dropped frames here as a pretty important metric. If you are dropping frames when you're streaming to twitch that that means that people going to see a lot of jitteriness when they were actually viewing your stream. Like if five frames get dropped, then that means 1/6 of a second just disappears from what people are actually seeing. That would be pretty bad. So you want dropped frames to be zero or as close to zero as possible. Otherwise, you may have some trouble shooting to do. But if everything else looks good, like your CPU is not to overcharged, and another way you can actually check and make sure that your systems not being overburdened would be to right click on your task bar and go up to task manager. So if you go over to the performance tab here, you can see how your system is being used the percent of the CPU that's being used, memories being used. And if you scroll down, you can also see GPU as well. Hopefully, it won't be capping out at 100%. That would be when you get slowdown, especially for things like memory. So just keep those things in mind when you're recording. Or you may need to turn down your settings a little bit lower the bit rate or lower the resolution that you're trying to record and stream app. So let's stop this test dreaming and let me show you guys a couple more advanced settings. So in file settings, some settings I like to have checked automatically record one streaming. So if you want Teoh record to a file every time you go alive and you start streaming without having that the start recording button as well, in case you forget or something, then you can have automatically record one streaming checked, which is very useful. You can also customize your theme up here at the top, so Mick Serie Light is actually a custom thing I installed. You can find it on the O Bs forms, but this four or five by default that dark default, Bakri veg, knee and system. I think all of them are pretty good, except for system, which is this kind of ugly white look. So duck default would be what you normally see, but I'm taking a liking to mix relight. You can also have keep recording when stream stops checked. What this will mean is that if you're stream suddenly goes off line because maybe your Internet has a disconnection, that the recording to a fire will keep going no matter what. So if you were playing in the offline game and you wanted to make sure that that footage was available on a file on your computer for a later recording and you didn't want to lose that footage just because the Stream one off line then keeping this enabled is a good idea , so you can just choose that and hit apply over on the advance step. There's also automatically remarks to MP four, so if you are recording an M K V like I suggested, but you want it to be automatically converted to MP four so it has more compatibility with video editors, then you can have it check automatically mean next to MP four here. So what that will mean is that whenever the M. K V file finishes recording, it will automatically convert a copy of it into MP four format. So if you're using something like the Vinci was off to edit your videos, it supports MP four format but doesn't support M. K. V. So you have the MP four file automatically. Also, stream delay for people who are serious or kind of playing professionally. You may want to enable stream delay if you are streaming life, that'll help prevent stream sniping by a little bit, because everybody will be seeing what you performed 20 seconds ago. Rather than what is life actually occurring in the game Completely optional, though. So let's head okay, here. And one thing I want to point out is remarks, recordings. So if you want to convert any O. B. S recording into a new file as long as that O. B s recording is in a format that obeah supports, you can drag it in here or find it on your computer with this bottle and then converted into a new formats so you can manually turn MTV files into MP four or F L V or something like that. But generally I'll just leave that advanced setting checked, so I don't have to do that manually. So once again, if you wanted to automatically do it Advanced tab automatically remarks to MP four. So one more thing over on the hot key stab If you want to be able to tell O B s to start recording or start streaming or stop without actually needing to open up the O. B s window, then setting hockey's in here can be pretty useful. So for me, I use control are before starting, recording and stopping recording at the same time. It's a hockey combination that you probably won't press on accident. Doing this as long as odious is open, even if it's just in the notification area and you don't have the window popped up, you can start recording and stop it just by hitting their skis, which is pretty handy. I find you can also set that up for streaming. You can use a different hockey if you want. You could also technically use the same hockey a song as you're okay and want it to start recording and start streaming at the same time, but yeah, come in here and see if there's any hot keys you want to set. Generally, I just have this once. I keep things pretty simple for start recording and stopping recording. So we're getting pretty far along in O. B. S is basic. So I want to demonstrate one flaw in using laptops for recording and O. B s. And that's that there is two graphics card. In a typical gaming laptop, you would have the integrated graphics card and then you also have the gaming in video graphics card. So on my computer, which is Ah ASIS, tough gaming Siri's. The monitor will actually output by default to the integrated graphics card, and there's no real way to change that to be over on the NVIDIA card. It's kind of a physical hardware wiring thing, So if I open up a game here, I like hearthstone. You can see if I re enable the monitor source that the desktop is able to record just fine . That's because over on the NVIDIA control panel, I have Mobius set up to use the integrated graphics card. But because O. B S is using the integrated graphics card. It can't actually see the video footage from the games. So on laptops like this, unfortunately, you either have to use display capture or the game capture. And you would need to change O. B. S is graphics card that it's using for the program manually in order to see the other programs that are running on the graphics cards. So the games are gonna run on the NVIDIA cards. So if you want to record games, then you set it up to use the NVIDIA card. And if you want to record the desktop, which is using the integrated card, then you set it up to use the integrated card. So let me demonstrate this so clearly, I have Hearthstone open on my computer, right, and we can add that in as a game capture source. So I'm going to hide the monitor source. Your I'm going to right click, go to Add and Jews game capture. So let's call this hard stone capture here hit, enter and we can have it either capture any full screen application which, if I all tab in the hearth, Stern would normally automatically grab that. But Justin demonstrate that it definitely isn't gonna be able to see. It will go to capture specific window and choose Hearthstone from the list. So I'll head okay here and I'll tap into heart stone out tab back and you get nothing, right. But we can see that it's capturing the desktop just fine. So let's do a little bit of trouble shooting for that. I'm gonna exit O bs temporarily on my task bar. I'm going to click the hit and icons were going to go and find in video settings here, right click and video control panel. We can see here managed three D settings. So you want to go over from global settings to program settings? Find Obi s on your list. You may need to add it by finding the program on your computer and change. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program over from whatever it is to be the graphics card you want to use. So by default it would be the high performance in video processor, and in this case, I want to go back to recording games as well. So high performance in video processor and then you simply hit apply Now we can open o B s back up on our computer and now you can see that obese has picked up on the hearthstone game perfectly, and we can see that in the preview window. So we're almost done with our set up of O. B s a couple things that we should cover so out putting our audio channels to the audio tracks that we want them to record on. So you can remember that we have audio track one being the streaming track and then audio Track two and three are the record to a file audio tracks. We also need to uncheck the band with test mode, and then we should set up a webcam just as kind of a final thing. So in file settings, let's go to Stream and Jenoff enable band with test mode. We're done with that, and now we want to direct our audio devices to the specific audio tracks. So click on the settings icon for any of your audio mixer devices, advanced audio properties, and in here you can see the audio tracks on the right. So if you want the set up, I have, then your desktop audio on your microphone should both be out putting to this dream because you want the viewers to actually hear the game audio and microphone audio, Of course. So, using my set up, I will have There's both checked, then for microphone. I will have that output to audio check to, but no, I do not have the stop audio out putting two audio track to I want that to be a completely separate check. So does stop. Audio will have track three, and I'm also gonna disable the microphone for tracks 336 as well. I only want that out putting to one and two. So two is gonna be the first out of your track from the video file. And then three desktop audio is the second audio track on the video file. So when you pour that into a video editor, you'll notice that there'll be two audio tracks that you can add it separately, which is a very useful thing. If you care about, like taking your footage and, I don't know, making a compile elation out of it, making the sound sound better. Whatever it is, it's a good idea. So, yeah, you're set up should look something like that you can go more complicated if you have more audio devices as well. So let's close that. Okay, So lastly, we can add in a webcam as a video capture source. So if we click on the plus button and go down to video capture device, we can give it a name, so I'll give it the model number of this Logitech Webcam C 9 20 by default. It's popping up to the laptop webcam, which sucks pretty bad. So I'm gonna click on the device list and change that. Teoh HD Pros Webcam C 1920 down in the resolution section. You can select a resolution first, you have to take device default and change that custom, and then you can put in your resolution here. So in this case, 1090 20 by 1080 well, OK here and I'm going to scale it way down because I wanted to be in a corner, which is what most dreamers would normally do. I'll put it down here and remember that trick I showed you kind at the start of this video . And remember that trick I showed you a while ago where you can actually cut away the corners. If you want to do that, just hold all and click on one of the edges in the middle and then drag those away so that you can keep it more focused on you as the streaming recorder. So one more thing, I'll point out real quick if you have a green screen and you want to filter out the background. I clearly don't have that. But But if you do and you want to use the chroma key, then right click on your Web cam filter, go to filters and then, in effect, filters. You can choose chroma key here, hit okay and then select the color you want to filter out. So by default this will be green. And if you have a green background, you should see that go away immediately. So if you want to select a custom color from your screen, if you think that'll get you better results click select color, pick a screen color, and then you may need to play around with the similarity and the smoothness A little bit into it looks good. Basically, the idea is you filter out the background, but you want to keep yourself and view. The reason you normally use green on a green screen is because people don't really have green hair green skin, So it's a good color to filter out with chroma key. Putting that aside, I think we've pretty much covered just about all of the basics here. So I guess the last step is going to be to start streaming or recording. So if you want to do your final test and actually start sending video to your life page on Twitch, you can get the start streaming bottom, which I'm actually going to do here. So when you do that, you're gonna want to go to twitch TV slash your user name slash dashboard slash alive, and you should see your life video preview pop up here in your video preview in a minute. Once you see that, you know that you're actually life. You should see exactly what you saw in your preview window now showing up in the video preview over there. So I stopped the streaming for right now because I don't really want to go life now. Note that because I had start recording automatically when you start streaming and stopped recording after you stop streaming checked. So the recording is out putting the video information to a file on your computer. So if it stopped now, see that that automatically remarks recording thing goes right there changing the M. K V file into a in P four file. And we confined our recorded output in the location where we have it set up to in the settings. So you can see here the M K V file is right here, and then my MP four file is right here. If we open that up, we should see about 50 seconds of streaming be able to hear the audio. And if you set it up like I did, there should be two audio tracks, which is good when you bring it into a video editor. So just as the final thing, I'll show you guys what that looks like. Okay, so here we have DaVinci resolve open. It's my free video editor of choice, and we can add our MP four file into the program, so I'm gonna drop it here into the media pool, changed the project settings to use whatever we set up in our video file that can expand this a bit. We can see the video file inside of here. And when we drag it onto the timeline, you can see that we have not one but two audio tracks. So the bottom audio check is the desktop audio. Nothing was really being recorded for that cause I muted my audio. And then on the top, you have the microphone audio. So when you have your game audio and microphone audio, you can edit them individually, which allows you to do a lot more when you're editing. It's hard to edit audio properly if they're both on the same audio track as you can imagine . So that is pretty much just about everything you need to know to do recording and streaming inside of O. B s, at least as a basic beginner's level. So I've been Chris, thank you guys for watching. I hope you guys learned a lot half run recording and streaming, and I was you guys in my future video content 2. 10 Must Know Settings for Beginners: Hello, everybody. Chris here and in this video, I want to show you guys 10 must know settings for open broadcaster software. So number one is output scaled resolution. If we go up to the file menu and do settings down here, then we can see under video that there is two resolutions listed here. First off is the base canvas resolution. So that's gonna be referring to the resolution. Which O. B. S is working within this preview window where you put off the stuff. But then when you actually output to a file, you output to extreme the resolution that people are going to be seeing that video file at is the out port scaled resolution. So often times, I find that O. B. S was set by default this number to a lower resolution like 720 p, which means that if you were to record O. B s with the settings that you're out, port fire would be a reduced resolution from the resolution. You probably have your screen and your canvas set to. So if you want to make sure that your recording at full resolution assuming that your computer and your Internet connection can handle it. Then make sure you change your output scaled resolution to be set equal to your base canvas resolution setting Number two is to automatically remarks videos to MP four. So in my own recording settings, you can see that I record my videos as M. K V. The reason for that is that in kv videophiles. The reason for that is that why you're according to M K V file. If you're recording happens to stop abruptly, you don't lose all of the footage. But with the MP four that can happen. However, MP four tends to have better compatibility with video editors so you can remarks a video file from NK Fee two MP four, basically to change the file type and convert it now in the file menu. You can remarks any recording here manually, so you just drop in one file and you convert it into another format that o BS supports. But if we go to file settings and we go down to the advanced tab, you can see the under recording. There's actually a check box for automatically remarks and before, which means that once your video file is done recording O P s will automatically take that file converted to an MP four file and stick that copy in the same directory. So if you like me and you're always gonna convert to MP for anyway, this is a really useful setting for you guys to use so something Number three along with automatically remarks in your videos. As I mentioned before in the recording tab of out port, you can change your recording format. So once again, I would recommend you change this away from F l V two m k V. You can see here that certain formats such as F. O B don't support multiple tracks for recording, and in addition to that, F. O. V doesn't have great video editor compatibility. But if you were to use MP for, you can see the MP four and move files can end up not recoverable, which is why recording in NK V and then converting it into MP four is a good ideas. So unless you have a good reason not to make sure you go into out port and then change your recording format to M K V, and you can convert that before whatever format you need later on with the Marks recording feature. So setting number four is start and stop recording or streaming hot keys. So in the Settings menu, you'll also find hot key settings. And one of the more important ones I find is to have start recording and stop recording site here. I don't stream all that often, so I don't need it particularly set for starting to stream and stop streaming. But it's a good idea to come in here and set at least one hot key. So the advantage here is pretty obvious. Any time I want, I can hit control are on my keyboard, and I can start recording and stop it without actually having to touch the Obi s windows so I can put O. B s in the background and just know that any time I want to start and stop the recording, I just need to hit. There's hot keys, so it's just a convenience thing there. Otherwise, without that, then you would need to go into Mobius and hit this start recording and start streaming buttons over there. Just make sure that the hockey's you decide to use are not a combination that you would normally press while you're playing a game. Okay, Setting number five. And this is, of course, in file settings as well. If you go to the advanced tab, there is an option here for stream delay. So this is, of course, more relevant to people who are going to be streaming on sites like YouTube. But if you want to add a stream delay to help prevent people from sniping you if you're playing a competitive game, then this is where you can do it. You can hit, enable and set a manual duration for the stream delayed. So this division is gonna be how long O. B. S weights to actually send that data to the server. So if you make an action in the game than anyone tuning into the stream would see it 20 seconds later. Of course, you can go ahead and increase this value if you want, but if you don't actually care about stream sniping or you're not playing a game at all, then you might not need this setting. But that would be pretty important for anyone who's really serious about gaming. Okay, so number six is your microphone and your desktop audio device. You would find this in file settings and then go into audio so you can see here the devices for desktop audio and Mike auxiliary audio. If I recall, the MIC auxiliary audio is set to disabled by default. So to even get your microphone to record at all, you're gonna need to come in here, and you're going to need to actually pick a setting here. Now, default usually works as long as when you are recording with O. B s. You have your default recording device set up within Windows or whichever operating system you're using, so leaving in a default is convenient if you may want to. Switzer devices around. So just if sometimes you're recording with Web game or sometimes you're recording with the USB audio device like a headset or blue Yeti microphone. So if you want to make sure it's always the same device, then choose the specific device. If you want to make sure it's always whatever is being said as your current default on your operating system, then set it to default. But you will need to come in here and customers. That same idea applies to desktop audio. If you want a BS to record the audio from whatever your default output devices, then leave it as default. But if you want it to be recording the same audio, that's being output to your specific audio device, then select that from the drop down menu. So Number seven in the general tab of the settings, there are two streaming related settings that are pretty important here. One is automatically record one streaming. When you have this checked, and you either hit the hockey to start streaming or you manually hit the start streaming button. It's automatically going to start recording your output to a file as well. So if you ever mean to take your footage and to bring it into a video editor, this is gonna be really important so that you actually have a copy of whatever you were streaming earlier to take into a video editor. So having this checked will mean that you don't really need to keep remembering that when you start streaming, you also need to hit the start recording button. So don't save you some hassle and make sure that you always keep those video files around on your computer. Also, another option that you may want keep recording when stream stops. So if you're stream crashes or you hit the stop streaming button, you may find that that might not actually be the stopping point where you wanted to end the video. In some cases, maybe the 10 20 seconds after that occurs is still something you want to pick up. So if you want to make sure that obese won't stop the recording until you actually 100% sure you want to stop it, then have this checked especially for those cases where in your stream just crashes. So number A on the stream tab of O. B s. You can enable band with test mode once you have connected. Once you have connected to twitch as a service, basically link your account to twitch so that you can start and stop streaming. The reason for using banned with testing so that you can check your settings and make sure that everything is good before you start broadcasting life on twitch. Okay, so with bandwidth test mode enabled, if you go ahead and start streaming, you'll get this pop up, which says that you in band with test mode, which means that people aren't going to see what you're doing, but that's actually what we want. So with that set up, you'll be able to see your bit output. You'll be able to see your FPs and make sure that everything's going okay to CPU is hopefully not to overtaxed. And if you happen to have your bit rate set to a very high number, you may actually find that your actual output bit rate is lower than that number. In this case, I'm using very low settings intentionally. But if you send it to like 10,000 kilobytes per second, you may find that with the 35 megabits per second upload that you can only get a bit rate of something like 6000. So won't really get too much into the details of how much bit rate you need for which video resolution here. You can kind of check that stuff online already. This is a good way to know your max upload bit rate. So if you really want to test that, just set your bit rate to something very high. So actually show you guys file settings and then with your output for streaming, we can change the rate control to CBR constant bit rate and set it to something like 10,000 Here. Apply hit. Okay, start streaming. And then you can see in the bottom right hand corner what your max bet rate is pretty much going to be. And that's just based on how good your Internet connection is. So using this band with test mood is obviously a really handy way to know what your set up is capable off. Okay, setting number nine audio filters. So if you want to add some noise reduction to you microphone and reduced into the background noise, you can do that by clicking on the settings icon for your microphone in the mixer, going to advanced audio properties, going to filters and then you'll have a blank list of audio filters here. So if you want to add any of the defaults that O. B. S supports, you could do plus and then noise suppression. Here you can see I have my any noise suppression cranked all the way over to the left. Of course, before you go and start recording, make sure that your audio sounds OK, so that actually be the number 10 setting will talk about here, and if you go on nine, you can get plug ins called Reaper. So if you search Reaper plug ins actually available for free as BST audio plug ins, which work and programs like O. B s and defense the results so that you can basically adding even more audio filters onto your microphone. So the Reaper filter, which would be called refer, underscores stand alone eyes, another good tool for reducing some of the background noise. But anyway, in general, having some audio filters is a good idea, and that's where you do that. So number 10. To check your audio quality, you're going to want to click on the settings. I come for Mike again and then go to advanced audio properties, and from here you can take your microphone, and you can goto audio monitoring and change it from monitor off to monitor an output. When you do that, you'll be able to hear your microphone audio through your desktop audio device by default. And that's really handy because what you're hearing is the audio with the filter supplied so you can hear the audio exactly how it's going to be going to the output video file when you start recording. So this is probably the best way that you can test your audio before you start recording. Of course, it might be a good idea. Still, to do a test recording to a video file, open that video file up, make sure it looks good and make sure it sounds good to as well. But audio monitoring really used for setting there. Just make sure that before you start recording, unless you actually want to consistently monitor the audio while you're recording, change it from monitor and output to monitor off and then you'll be good to go for starting your recording or stream. So that's 10 really useful settings for you guys to know and obey. Yes, I think that knowing about these 10 settings will be very helpful for you guys. So that's gonna be it for this video. Quick Walkthrough of OBS Interface and How Things Work: so I wanted to take some time to explain the main interface of O Bs and what each of these individual sections down here at the bottom are and how they come together in order to provide your video recording or your life stream to sites like YouTube or twitch. So in the bottom left hand corner, we have individual scenes. A scene is going to be a collection of video sources, which are all going to come together to provide what your viewer eventually cease. So at a very basic level, that can be a screen cast like this video, which would just be a display. Capture inside of your video sources. But you may get more complicated, adding things like livestream alerts image overlays. If you want to display a logo or video capture devices like a webcam so often times you actually need more than one source. But off their sources go into individual scenes, So the reason for having more than one scene is the On any given day, you may decide that you're recording different things with a different set up, so you might have one set of sources for one game or a different set of sources when you are recording a different game, so you just group all of those sources how you want them. Under individual scenes for either scenes or sources, you can add a new one by clicking on the plus Pontin at the bottom of each of those panels . Or you can right click. And if you go into the sources add menu, you'll see that there's a bunch of different sources that you can use in order to record your video. Now, some of these do overlap. For instance, display, capture, gain, capture and window capture are three different ways of recording your screen so they can all technically be used for recording something like a game. But depending on the game, you may get better results, depending on if you trees display, capture, game capture or a window capture. So depending on exactly what you're recording, you'll have to play around with that a little bit to figure out which kind of capture actually works best for the program you're working on and another video. I'll go into all of these in much more detail, but I'll leave it at that for now. So the next panel over is your audio mixer. As long as you have audio devices attached in the settings of O. P s. You should see some bars here for audio. So if you don't see that, we can always go up to the file settings Menu. Go down to audio. So under audio devices, dust top audio refers toothy sounds that air coming out of your computer, basically a computer audio out port. So if you were, say, playing a game and that game has music that would come out under desktop audio and then mike slash auxiliary audio, that would be your audio input devices, such as a webcam or a USB microphone. So as long as you have your devices connected, you should be able to click here and select the proper audio devices. So, for instance, if you want to use whatever your current audio device is on your computer, you can use desktop audio devote, which would be whatever your current audio devices and then under Mike auxiliary, you would simply want to use the microphone that you have connected to your computer that you want to use and then you can apply. And what should happen is that you should see those pop up under the audio mixer. So, as you can see here, because I'm obviously talking into my microphone, you can see that audio levels of propping up for the microphone in the mixer. If that sounds playing on my computer, you should also see that under desktop audio. So whenever you receiving audio information, you should see these bars fill up, indicating that there actually are receiving audio information. If not, then you probably have to do a little bit of trouble shooting for your computer. So next week we have seen transitions. If you're recording something more like a podcast and you want to switch between different cameras, different people than seeing transitions may be a bit more relevant to you. So this defaults to cut. So whenever you cut between scenes, that would be where instantly changes from one scene to another. So if I click on O. B s logo and the scenes here and I click back to the brave browser logo, you can see the as I click on the other. Seen it makes an instant transition. There's no fade or anything. You can see that as soon as I click on the other scene that the switch is instantaneous. So there's another default seen transition, which is a simple fade. If you switch to fade, you'll see duration and milliseconds. That's how long you want the scene transition. To take Sanofi click on the scenes, it will actually fade between them over 300 milliseconds, which is where one becomes more transparent as the other one comes into view. So this kind of thing is more relevant when you're doing something like a podcast and you actually have somebody controlling everything behind the scenes. And if that was the case, you have probably used studio mode over in the controls. So in studio mode, you can actually click on the next scene you want to switch to. And then at the perfect timing, you can click on the transition button or set up a hot key to do it and then by clicking on transition. Whatever was in the preview now becomes the life recorded program. And then you can click on the next scene that you may want to switch to at some point and click transition again inside studio mode. You can also choose at the time of your choosing, whether you want to make an instant cut or a fade with the default settings. So clicking transition will use your defaults in transition. But you're still choose to basically over by that by clicking on the one you want so relatively straightforward. Anytime you want to turn off studio mode, you just click on the studio mode, bunching again. So let's quickly talk about the other controls, so this starts streaming and start recording. If you click on start recording, that's gonna be taking whatever is showing on this preview window and according that to a file on your computer or your network. Wherever you have your default file out port location set to which you can do in the sidings whenever you click, start recording or start streaming. You obviously get the option to stop it as well. Thes are also things you can customize with thought keys. If you prefer to click a combination on your keyboard rather than having to go into O Bs to click on these controls manually, So what you might notice is it's actually possible to start recording and start streaming at the same time. So what, you can do with O. B s is you can output to a video file while also uploading the live video to a site like Twitch or YouTube. So in that case, you would want tohave start recording and start streaming births chosen at the same time. Of course, in order to start streaming properly, you have to set that up in the Settings menu, which we'll talk about more in a different video. So lastly, there's a menu item for settings here. It is exactly the same as if you went up to the file menu and then shows settings from here . But you can click on settings, which will open up all of the settings for over. Yes, there's quite a lot of settings to customize. But generally, if you need to change something about how O. B s works, it's going to be in the settings menu. Obviously, so pretty much if there's something you needed to change about O. B. S. Aside from your scenes of sources, it's going to be over. There in the Settings menu is that the accept button at the bottom is the same as clicking the X button on any program. It will give you a warning if you're actively recording. So you probably want to shut down your streams of recordings before you actually exit the program, of course, but really straight for it. But in the not show, that's going to be everything about the basic interface layout of O. B s seeing sources, mixer, scene transitions and the controls. I hope this was clear for you guys, and I will see you guys in my future video content. 4. OBS Capture Sources Display vs Window vs Game Capture: Hello, everybody. Chris Here in in this video, we're gonna be talking about the basics of setting up a scene inside of O. P s. So we're going to start with the difference between a display capture, window capture and a game capture. So to create a new scene, you have to right click on the scenes area and the bottom left hand corner or click on the plus bustin to add a new scene in. So we're going to get create the name of the scene. I'm gonna call it tutorial seeing here and then go ahead and hit, OK, some extra need to choose your basic video source. If you are recording something on your computer, it's probably going to be either displayed capture window capture or again capture. So if you right click on the sources box, you can go down toe ad and you'll see those three capture options. First off the display capture. This would be where you are capturing an entire monitor. So if I click on display capture, we could say monitor one here. If you have multiple monitors, then you would need to select from the drop down which monitor you're trying to record from . You can also see the resolution that that monitor is currently set to. In most cases, you want capture Kirsty to be checked so that you can still see the curse of moving amount of screen. But if you want to hide the cursor for some reason, you can just un chuck capture cursor and then that will not be visible. So then you can go ahead and hit. OK, And then that adds your source here for the video now, because on the screen I have O. B s. You get a endless tunnel off O. B s windows. But if I shrink the window, you can see it's not just capturing the O. B s winter, but it's capturing whatever is on my desktop now. Just because the display capture by default captures everything on your screen, that doesn't mean you can't crop away thing. So if, for instance, you wanted to get rid of that bottom toolbar than what you could do is right, click on a source, go up to filters, add in an effect filter for crop or pad hit, okay, and then you can crop the way the bottom, So something like 100 pixels, and you could see how that removes everything at the bottom of the screen up to the amount of pixels you put in. So something like 50 pixels there you could crop that if you so desired. So next. We could also add in a window capture if we want to instead capture one specific window from our computer rather than an entire monitor. What you should note here is that when you do a window capture, the program should not be minimized so you can have it in the background. That doesn't have to be currently viewable, but don't click the minimize icon when you're adding in the window capture or it won't show up in the list of available windows. So I'm going to right click on sources here, go to add window capture and then when you can set the name. If we choose and select the program that we want to capture from the last year, no pad i e. X C is showing up here. Sometimes you do run into some minor issues. So, for instance, the brave browser, although I have that open here in the background, it seems to be having a bit of a compatibility issues, so not necessarily everyone there will always work with O. P s. If you run into issues, you can do some troubleshooting, or you could always fall back to display capture and then just drop out the parts you don't want to show. So that's basically the just of what window capture is and how you would use it. Lastly, let's talk about adding in a game capture source. So when you go ahead and open up a game, if you have gained capture, turned on to capture any full screen application and you all tab back into O. B s, then you should see the game pop up and be automatically selected for recording there. So if you don't see that or you want to be absolutely sure that you're capturing the right game, then you can also go into game capture and change the mode from full screen application to capture specific window and then just select a game from the list. So here we would do hearthstone and make sure that that pops up in their Lastly for the third method. If we go back to game capture and we choose Capture foreground window With hockey, we can go back up to the file menu and do settings, go down to hot keys and set a hot key for this. So I'm going to do Control LP for capture foreground window and I'll do something like control all I just arbitrarily for Deke. Activate capture. These darkies should be set to a different combination. So now if I go into Hearthstone and they hit control P and hit tab back, you can see that it is now being selected and a figure backed hearthstone and hit control all I and I'll tap back. It's been deactivated for the capture. So that's it. Three ways of doing a game capture inside of O. B s. So hopefully at this point, you guys have a good idea of the differences between game capture, window capture and display capture and how to use all three of them. So I've been Chris, Thanks for watching, and I'll see you guys in my future video content 5. Screencasting with Display Capture (and Black Screen Laptop Graphics Fix): Hello, everybody. Chris here and in this video, I'm going to be showing you guys how you can set up a basic screen capture set up inside of O. B. S. So generally, when you do this, you're going to use it. Display capture Soto, add that in you would go into the sources box. Do add and shoes displayed capture from here. If you've already added the same display to a different scene, it's probably preferable to hit. Add existing and re choosing that to basically copied the same source rather than trying to create a new one. But if this is your first time, just choose. Create new display capture. If you want to be, name it. Go for it. Hit. Okay. Now for this video, I'm intentionally having it have an issue here where you get a black screen, you can't see anything. So you may run into this issue if you are on a laptop that has both an integrated graphics card and then a dedicated in video graphics card, for instance. So the reason for this is the O. B. S is going to be running on your dedicated in video card, but your desktop is actually running on the integrated card. So there is a work around for this in O b s, which is that you temporarily would switch O B s to use your integrated card rather than using your dedicated NVIDIA GPU. So show you guys how to fix that real quick. Okay, so from your desktop, if you want to access the NVIDIA control panel, one way is to go to the bottom right notifications area and find where in video settings is located. As long as you've installed NVIDIA drivers, this typically will show up there. Alternatively, you can search through the start menu to find it. So I'm going to right click and do in video control panel, and then you need to go to the managed three D settings box. So under program settings, you need to find obeah studio from the list of programs on your computer. So I'll screw up here to O. B s studio, and from there you select the preferred graphics processor for this program from whatever it's set to two integrated graphics. So when you hit, apply now, O. B s is gonna be running on the same graphics card as your desktop, and for that reason, the display capture should be able to show up. So if I go back into O. B s now, then you should see the display capture source pop improperly. Now, once again, this work around is only going to be needed on some machines like laptops. But I wanted to put that in there in case that's throwing anybody else. So one more thing you can actually do while you're doing a display capture is if you don't want to capture your task bar, but you want to capture everything else on the screen, the more I can do is set your task bar toe auto hide like I'm doing right now. So if you want that to happen on Windows, you can right click on the task bar and go into task bar settings. So in task force settings you want to ta go on automatically hide that task bar in desktop mode. If you have that turned on the test for always shows, but if you have it turned on, then as long as you're not hovering over the task bar, it will automatically hide. So generally that will look better for most screen caste based videos. So aside from that, just make sure that you display capture source is actually set to the right display you want to capture. You can see in the drop down menu for the properties that if you have multiple displays, you can select one from the list and capture cursor is generally going to be checked. So if you're trying to record a screen capture based seen, that should pretty much get you going. So that's gonna be it for this video. I've been Chris. Chris here and in this video, I'm gonna be briefly showing you guys how you can set up a webcam to work with O. B s. So this is gonna work whether you want your web came to be the entire video, such as If you're doing a log or if you simply want the webcam to be a small corner out of your entire screen, such as if you were doing a video game, let's play and you want the video aim to be the main thing. And then the web came just to pop into a corner. So to add a webcam to your video sources, you can right click on it or click on the add button down there. Do you add and go down to video capture device? By the way, this would work with cameras as well, as long as you can get it to be recognized as a video capture device. It doesn't really matter if it's a webcam, where if it's a more professional grade camera, But generally when I add this kind of source, I'm going to give it a name that actually corresponds to what device I'm using. So I'm gonna add in a launch. Texi 9 20 Webcam. Kind of a dated model, but it's what I have lying around. So I'm going Teoh, create the new device here. So once you had okay, you should see the properties window for your webcam. Pop up. You'll need to select the device which actually want to use from the list. So here, You saying my integrated webcam and then I have an external one right here. Now, when you select your device, there's a good chance it's not gonna be in the proper resolution. So you may need to come down here to where resolution is set. Then you change the resolution FPs type from device default to custom, and then that will allow you to manually type in the resolution you want to set it also give you some options from a drop down menu. So in this case, I want to select the 1080 p resolution 1920 pixels by a 1080 FPs. You can set that to whatever you need, usually in O. P s. If you're uploading to YouTube than 30 or 60 is good, So I'm gonna leave this set to 30 and I'm not really gonna mess with the other stuff in there. So with that, you can hit OK, and this would be the basic set up of what you would need to do to record something like a flock video. Where your Web came is taking up the entire screen. Of course, you'd want to put a lot more effort into making your background set up a lot better than this. Now you may want to take your Web game and shrink it down to one corner because you're going tohave a game capture or a display capture as the main source. So if you right click on your source, you go into transform and then you do at it transform. You'll see that there's a lot of settings you can customize here if you need to add in precise values for away, or something should show up in how big it should be, but and even quicker way to do that. But even quicker way to adjust the position size of something is actually going to be to go up to the edit menu and then to unlock the preview. So when you do that, you should see red lines go around your video source, and what you can do is you can click on any of the corners left, click and hold, and then dragged that to adjust the size of your video source. You can also left like somewhere on the middle of your video source, and drag that around to any corner you desire. And when you do this, it will snap to the corners automatically, so it's pretty easy to get it to whichever corner you needed to be by default. If you don't hold anything down, it will scale at the vacio, which you have a recording at. So in this case it's 16 by nine ratio, and that's how it will scale as well. But if you hold shift down, you can actually stretch the ratio as well so I can scale up. Or it could scale it to the right instead of scaling it in both directions. And if you hold out down while you press on any of the sides, you can crop away part of the video from being in your final source. So this will turn it into a green line, which indicates that part of the side is being cropped so I could do the same. All left click on the left side, and by doing that, I would be able to crop away the edges of both the right and left sides of this video. You can also undo the crop. Of course, by all left clicking and dragging it back out until you get the red line and same with the left side. Note that if you stretch the ratio of your video manually and then you left click without holding, shift down that the ratio will automatically return to its normal ratio. So if you're gonna make more than one manual adjustments to the stretching of your video, then you need to keep holding shift down while you're doing that. But usually you would want to keep the same ratio anyway, because that would look the most natural. One last thing to mention is that your webcam should be on top of anything else you're trying to record, so if you have a game, capture or display capture source than those need to go under your webcam inthe e source ordering list. Whatever is on top is the top layer and shows on top of everything else. If you click on a source, you can click on these up and down buttons to make sure that you order your sources properly. So one last thing. If you want to capture the audio from your webcam, then you're going to want to make sure that in the audio mixer that your webcam is either listed there. Oy, that you have your Webcam microphone set as your mike auxiliary microphone. So if you want to set the microphone, then you can go up to file settings, go down to you the audio menu and then from the MIC auxiliary audio selection, you can select your webcams. So in this case, that would be changing the microphone from USB audio device to the HD pro Webcam and hitting Apply, and then you should be able to see the audio still showing there. So that's pretty much going to be it for adding a webcam to your scenes inside of over. Yes, I've been Chris. I hope this tutorial helped you guys out of it, and I was two guys in my future video content 7. Basic Game Capture Setup with Webcam: Hello, everybody. Chris here and in this video, I'm going to be showing you guys how we can set up O B s to do a basic game capture. So I'm going to be doing this using Hearthstone, which you can see I already have open and full screen in the background. So in order to capture that, I'm going to go into scenes and I'm going to add a new scene. I'm going to call it the name of the game I want to capture. Generally, I will. Generally, I would separate my scenes based on the program I'm trying to capture. Technically speaking, you can have a game capture source, capture any full screen application. But I want to make sure that it is targeting specifically hearthstone in this case because I never want there to be any confusion. So I'm using Hearthstone for the scene name and then in sources, we go down to the add button and click on game capture. I'm going to call this hearthstone capture because I'm specifically going to target the hearthstone window and you can see here in mode that you can have it capture any full screen application, but instead I usually go with capture specific window, so it's going to select the program you're trying to capture based on the title. So in window, I'm going to select Hearthstone that XY hearthstone here. And when you do that, you should see it pop up there in the background at the resolution that you currently running the game for. So if for some reason the game isn't filling up your entire preview window, then you either need to change the resolution of the game or you need to change the resolution and O. B s. So I'm shooting for 1 80 p resolution, or that's 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels. I can verify that by going up to your file settings and then coming down here to video, and you can see that the base canvas resolution in the out port scaled resolution are both set to that value. The one that your final video is going to show is the scaled resolution. So you could technically take a based canvas resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and scale that something down to like 7 20 p resolution if you so desired. Generally I'll leave these both set to the same value. So once you verified that, you can also go into your game, find the settings menu, go into options and then make sure that your resolution is set to where it should be. So in this case, that should be 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels, and we want that to be full screen as well, though technically it's not required for your game to be full screen in order to record it . So assuming that you gain resolution and Euro Bs resolution are matching each other now, you can go ahead and add an extra video sources. So a really obvious one that you're probably gonna want if you are doing let's place or anything of that nature is going to be to add in your webcam, so just really quickly to add in a webcam you're going to want to right click go to add video capture device can name it the name of the device for capturing. In this case, it's a larger texi 9 20 and I'm going to select from my list of devices that when I'm trying to capture and I'm going to make sure that my capture resolution is what I actually expect. So in that case, it would be custom at 1920 by 1080 p resolution, and I want to scale that down so that I can obviously see the game behind it so I can put this in whatever corner I want. I can hold out down and click on a side if I want to crop away any of the edges so that more of the game is showing. And one more really important thing to know is that your webcam needs to be on top of your game capture if you actually want that to show up. So if, for instance, I took this webcam and I had it on the bottom layer, the only thing you would see is the game, because that's covering everything below it. So if you have a Web, can any image overlays or twitch alerts whatever you're going to set up, then put all that stuff above your video game capture in your list of sources. So in another video, get into more detail about setting up those other things, like screen overlays or or donation alerts But this is the absolute basics of how you can do a webcam plus video game set up in O. B s. So I've been Chris. I hope this video was very straightforward for you guys, and I was you guys in my future video content. 8. Green Screen Chroma Key Setup in OBS for Webcams and Images: Hello, everybody crispier. And in this video, I want to show you guys how you can chroma key out a green screen inside off O B s. So, generally you would do this with a web cam if you have a actual physical green screen behind you. Since I don't, I'm going to be using this green screen image offer picks obey just to demonstrate the effect and how it works. So you can see here behind the green screen if I hide the green screen source that I have hearts turn there in the background once again. So generally the idea would be that you want to have a talking head, but you don't want to have the entire background covering the video. You only want to record yourself in whatever you are recording or streaming. So if you want out in the chroma key effect out to filter out all of the screen and make it transparent than what you need to do is right. Click on your source, which is either gonna be a webcam and image or whatever, and you go down to filters and filters. You're gonna have effect filters. You click on the plus button in the bottom left hand corner, and you gonna want to choose chroma key from the list. I'm gonna leave it as the default name because that makes it clear what affect your applying and then, if you're lucky, it will already have green selected and that shirt filter out the background. But if for some reason, the color you're trying to filter out isn't the default green or it's not even green at all , you can select from the key color type to a different color, like blue, magenta or custom color. So in custom colors you can select any shade of green that you want. So what you usually going to want to do in this case is to hit select color and then pick a screen color from the image of Webcam you're trying to chroma key out. But in this case, since it's already filter now, I'm going to temporarily hide the chroma key effect, and I'm going to do the pick screen color method again. So I'll do select color and pick screen color, and the reason I'm doing this is that it actually needs to be visible for you to select the color from the screen so you can find the shade of the color. That's most in the middle of what you're trying to actually fail to out. So you can see some of these corners here or a little bit darker than in the middle, so I might go for green. That's somewhere like they're not too dark but not too bright and hit. OK, so now if I turned the chroma key effect back on, you'll see that everything is completely disappeared. And that's because the default custom color similarity has turned up way too high. So it's filtering a large range of colors out. So I want to take the similarity bar and lower that just until I can see everything that I need to back in the shot. So for me, that's right around 1 14 Notice that if I tried to track that further to the right, that colors that are even remotely green start to get filtered out, and if I bring it too far to the left, then it doesn't really filter out the green screen. But because the green screen was stunned relatively well, I can set something like 100 it looks really good. You can also adjust the smoothness in the key color spill reduction in order to make slight adjustments to the effect and just make sure that everything that should be there is there . So it's very much just visually eyeballing things. And as long as you're green screen was set up decently, you should get a good result. So I'll go ahead and hit close here and now you can see that the image can be dragged around the screen, but anywhere that was green before is completely filtered out. I can shrink the image down to one corner, which you would probably do if you had a webcam, just to show that the process is pretty much the same with the webcam. I'm gonna move this webcam source back up there and all of right click on it go down to filters. And for Webcams, you would find it under effect filters once again. So chroma key out there and then hit. Okay. But you see, the problem is, I don't have a green screen behind me. So if I try to do to keep color green, that's not gonna work. And also, if I went to custom, and I pick a custom screen color. Well, you'll see that the results won't look very good at all. And this is, of course, why. If you want to do this at all, you really do. You need to get a green screens, so pick your screen color something like the great in the background ahead. Okay, and I can lower the similarity down to bring myself back into view. But what you'll see is that by filtering out the background, I also filter out my shirt. So this illustrates the reason why a green screen is green to begin with, which is that it's not a common color you would wear on your body. And so, with green, it's very easy for your chroma key to distinguish the background from you by selecting green as a color. Okay, so we'll go ahead and get rid of that for now. But as long as you do, you have a proper green screen set up when you're trying to chroma key out. Your result should be a lot more like this, and that's pretty much going to cover the basics of chroma keying out a green screen inside of O P s. So I hope you guys were able to get some pretty decent results if you actually have a green screen to put behind you, I think, Chris, thanks for watching. How to Change Themes and Install Custom Themes OBS Tutorial: So in this clip I wanted to show you guys how we can customize our color theme inside of O . B s studio and also how we can install custom themes to O. B s from the obi s forms. So if you want to change the color thing, you go up to the file menu and you go down to settings and in the general settings you have the ability to choose your cover thing. So you simply click on the theme drop down menu and you can select between one of four basic themes which automatically will update so you can see it in the preview. And once you're done, you go ahead and hit. Applying. Okay, So really basic. Let's just go through the other two here. They don't look pretty good, in my opinion. Usually I prefer dark themes, so I'm not likely to use system. Hopefully, you guys appreciate that I use dark things in my tutorials as well, but that's where you can change it. Now. If you want to install a theme, then you'll have to go to the obi s forms. So, for instance, if you goto Mobius project dot com slash forms, slash list slash themes. You'll see that people have contributed a few custom things that you can insult. So when you click on one of the theme pages, the download button is gonna be up there in the top, right? And then you just need to follow the simple instructions, which is mostly to download the file, extract it with something like seven zip and put the files where they belong. In this case, if you do a default and so on O B s, it's gonna be see Dr Program files O. B s studio data, obeah studio themes. So let's go ahead and open that folder now. So with Windows Explorer on my computer, we go to see Dr Program files. If you have a 64 bit version of it installed, or you may find it an X 86. If you have 32 bit of yes, then we go into program files. Assuming your version is 64 bit O. B s studio data O. B s studio and then themes will be right in here so we can see the themes that already came with obvious by default. So let's go to my desktop and we will extract this misery thing now. So this particular thing comes one with the custom fund and one without the custom fund. So actually expect both of these to the desktop. For the one with the fun, we have to install the fund manually. So it's a true type font file. So if you double quick on that, you can start straight to windows by clicking the install button just like any other fun. And then with the mixer, reef order and the Q assess fire, we need to track that to the Obi s Themes director. And so opening up my things folder over here, I'm just gonna copy and paste those in. And then I'll do that one more time with the without font version. So mix three light and the key SS file. We drag that in here, and then with that, we should be good to go. So I'm gonna reboot this copy of O. B s. And now if we go up to file settings and then think we should see the new things that we've insult, So there we have mixed ary and you can see the new font there and also mixed relight, which is basically the same but uses the standard Opie Espana so that we can go ahead and hit, apply, and okay. And so that's gonna be the just of how you can not only change your theme inside of O. P s, but how you can install custom fonts that other people have created. 10. How to Setup, Test, and Monitor Microphone Audio in OBS: Hello, everybody. Chris here and in this video, I want to show you guys how you can set up and test your microphone inside of O. B s. So whenever you have O. B s open and you have a mic exhilarate device activated for O. P s, then you should start seeing this bar in the mix or move, which would indicate that it's receiving audio information. Now, in order to get to that step for the first time launching O. P s, you may need to choose your microphone device. So a quick what you can do that is to go up to the file menu and choose settings here and then insider settings. Go down toe audio and select your mike auxiliary device here so you can have it set to default, which will use the computers default. Or you can select a specific device from your list of devices. Toe have microphones. So if you are curious what your default device is set to on windows, then you can go to your task bar, right click on your speakers icon and then choose open sound settings. Inside of the sound settings will be able to see your input device. So here you can see it's set to my USB audio device, which is my head's up, and you can also see the microphone information being received here as well. Now, if you've gotten that far, it's a good start. But one thing you may actually want to do is monitor your audio and test it before you start recordings. So if you want the audio that is being received by a microphone to playback on your speakers or your headset, where you can do is you can click on the settings icon inside of the mixer. For the MIC auxiliary device, go to advanced audio properties. So here you can take your devices and you can enable audio monitoring some from the audio monitoring drop down. I can go from monitor off to monitor only or monitor and output. So if you do monitor only, you only be able to hear on your desktop audio device, and it won't be included in the recording. But if you have monitor and output enabled, then it will both play back to your audio device and also be included in your audio recording. Normally, what I would do is I will come in here to test the monitor, and I would turn that off entirely before actually record. So let's go ahead and enable audio monitoring here. If I do monitor an output, what happen is that it's now playing back to your default audio device on the computer. So this would be also whatever you have set up in file settings, then if you go to audio, you does stop audio devices what this is gonna be playing back to by default. So by making sure that you're receiving the audio levels property and going in double checking with monitoring the output, you can hear how it sounds, which is actually really useful if you want to set up any audio filters, so you may later want to go into the settings. I come here and do filters add in something like noise suppression or the Reaper filter form or audio filtering in that kind of thing. So you can always hear how it sounds before you start recording. And that's the general idea. So when you don't go ahead and turn off the audio monitoring, you can go back to your main window and you should be good for recording on the audio and from that point forward. So that's the just of how you set up a microphone and test it with audio monitoring inside of O B s to make sure everything sounds good before you actually start recording, I think. Chris, thanks for watching. And also you guys in my future video content. 11. Split Microphone and Desktop Audio into Different Tracks OBS Tutorial: Hello, everybody, Christer. And in this video, I wanted to show you guys how we can output different audio devices into separate audio channels for your streaming and recording of videos. So if we go up to settings and files settings and then we go down to output, you can see that streaming selects one of six audio tracks to actually feed to the Internet for your life. Stream to Twitter, YouTube by default. Your audio devices output to all six audio tracks anyway, so this is only relevant when we do a little bit more set up. But if you need to change which audio track you use for streaming, you can do that here. Usually I will use audio track one for streaming purposes. Now on recording, you're actually able to have more than one audio track be out port to your video file, and that's important if you are going to be editing it later. In, say, a video editor like Divinci results 16 because what that allows you to do is to manipulate the sound levels or add audio filters to each track individually so you can have one track for your game audio and one track for your microphone for your microphone track. You may want to increase the volume so it's easier to hear, or you may want to add something like a noise reduction filter later on. So by keeping your audio track separated, it becomes much easier. Toe added it in the future. With that, you need to use a recording format that actually supports multiple audio tracks so you can see that certain formats down here, like F. L V do not support multiple tracks for recording, and I believe it defaults to F L V. So what you would want to do is change that from F L V two to M K V. MP four also supports multiple audio tracks, but the problem within before is that if you use an before as it says here and you're recording and it doesn't complete the recording, then you can lose the entire video file. So that's where generally I'll use em Cavey because it supports multiple audio checks, and if you don't have the chance to stop the recording properly, you can still keep whatever video information you recorded. So that's really important, and that generally MP four has better compatibility with video editor programs and the like . So what you can actually do is remarks the recording later on from MTV to MP four, which means you change the file type. It's really easy to do that with an O. B s. So really, there's no downside. I would just recommend using M K V here now, on the audio tab, you can set bit rates for each audio track, and you can also give them a name. So if I wanted to be proper here, I should say that check one is my streaming track check to. I believe I'm using that one for microphone and then check three. I could call desktop audio. If you want to increase the audio bit rate you can. 160 is usually going to be plenty. Sometimes I like to upgrade it to 192 so we could do that right there won't make too much of a difference if he was just doing standard recording, so that's all well and good. The other thing you need to do for you recorded files is to select which audio tracks are actually going to be output to your file So I have this set up as trek to and track three won't be output to the file Track one will not track. One is only used for streaming that. The reason for that is that since streaming can only have one audio track, you need to feed both your desktop audio and microphone audio to track one so that that could be output to streaming. But we don't want it to be combined for the recorded video files, and that's why it's checks to and checks three or strictly for the recorded file that gets saved onto your computer. Okay, so if you've done all that, you can move out up the settings menu, and now we need to go to the audio mixer and customize which tracks are feeding to which audio channels. So if I click on any setting gear for the audio devices in the mixer, I could go to advanced audio properties. And here what you see is a section called Tracks. You can see which audio devices are being fed to which tracks. By default. All six of these tracks would be checked, so you just need to uncheck the ones you don't want that audio device feeding into. So in this case, I have desktop audio and microphone audio, both feeding to track one so they can both be in the stream and then track to. It's only for the microphone, so that I can keep that separate from the desktop audio. And then Track three is for the desktop audio. So if I have a game recording or whatever and I need that audio information, it's still there. It's just separated from the microphone, and then currently I have no need for checks for 56 So I just unchecked those, and that's essentially all you need to do to separate your audio channels. So before we wrap up the video ago had an open divinci results so I can show you the benefit here where you can actually have different audio tracks so really quickly here in DaVinci resolve, I'm gonna bring in a audio clip I had recording using this multiple track set up. So this is where attracts two and three were being output to the video file originally as M . K V. File, then remarks into a MP four file. So if I drop this under the timeline you can see that it actually has multiple audio tracks stored within one file. So we have the microphone audio up here at the top, and then later on you can see some desktop audio recorded down here below as well. But because we went through the trouble of separating those tracks, it's really easy to manipulate them individually. So if I wanted, I could mute the entire audio track to the desktop audio. But by pulling on this audio volume bar and bringing that down all the way, that's one thing we wouldn't be able to do without also muting the microphone audio if we didn't separate the tracks. Of course, if you doing video editing, there's many other ways you can manipulate your audio tracks, but hopefully just in that really simple example that really demonstrates how useful it is to keep your audio track separated. But aside from that, that's pretty much gonna be it for how you separate your audio channels inside of O. B s. So they're recording you different audio devices on different audio treks and that you're separating your stream audio from your audio that gets recorded to a video file. Chris Here in in this video, I want to show you guys how we can do life streaming to YouTube through using O. B s open broadcaster software. So in order to connect the two accounts, we need to go up to the file menu and then choose settings under settings. There's a tab here for stream. You can see that you can select your service and this case, we need to choose YouTube or YouTube gaming from the drop down. On the second drop down, you have the choice of selecting a servers, so generally you'll just have the set to the primary YouTube in just server. Unless, for some reason it seems like the servers down, then you can always switch to the backup server. Aside from that, you need to get the stream key so you'll see here that there's a link to go to your profile where your stream key is gonna be located. So we want to click the link button here so that we can go into the browser and find that page. So it's gonna be at youtube dot com slash live underscored dashboard for first time users. It also put you at the underscore Splash page. You can see on this page the link that people will be able to view you live at. Now, if you have a new YouTube account, this maybe I d of just a bunch of random gibberish, numbers and letters. At some point, they give you the ability to change it to an actual user name of your preference. So, for instance, you would later be able to change this to something like Chris Tutorials. But this may be initially what you get, and then you have the slash life. So anyway, hit the get started button. And apparently, if this is your first time nowadays, you have to get ready in 24 hours. So all sorts to a different account real quick, so that I can show you what the page will look like after the 24 hour wait. So when you come back to youtube dot com slash life underscored dashboard with an account that actually has live streaming activated, so you may have to wait 24 hours for that, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see encoders set up here. So with encoder set up there's gonna be stream name, slash key You want to hit? Reveal on that and then you copy and paste the value into the obi s settings. So I'm gonna go ahead and do that here. So back on the O. B s settings, I'm hitting control V and order to paste it. Then if you wanted to, you can hit control C in order to copy a selection on youtube dot com slash life dashboard . So that will make sure that you get the exact stream keep and then you need to hit. Apply. So now, in order to test the live stream on youtube dot com slash life underscore dashboard. I'm going to the basic info, and I'm going to change privacy to private here temporarily. And the reason for doing that is so that no one will be notified about this live stream because it's not a real one. Then you can go back over to O. B s and hit the start streaming button. So now that we have the stream set to private, we can go ahead and hit the start streaming button to test it without any real drawbacks. So I'm gonna hit. Start streaming here. When you do that, you should see this green box appear and kill a bit bit rate, which is being sent to your YouTube surfers. So this is going to be based on your streaming bit rate settings If you have very high settings in O. B s. But your Internet connection isn't actually strong enough. Then you may see it get capped at as fast as your Internet is able to send data toothy YouTube server. Either way, as long as it looks something like this with that showing live a green box and kill bit bit rate per second, then you should be good to go. You gotta check on to your life dashboard and see how it's going to look in a second. So if you get this and you can actually see anything, you can refresh the page. So there you go. You should be able to see whatever you're sending from O. B s to the YouTube server. You can also on you see yourself and kind of hear yourself there as well. So putting that aside, you just need to play around with the settings a little bit more tweak it until it looks right. And then when you actually want to go live, make sure that you have privacy set to public so people can actually see it. So that's pretty much gonna be it for how you connect O Bs to YouTube for life streaming on the YouTube or YouTube gaming platforms. So I think, Chris, thanks for watching, and it was two guys in my future video content. 13. Twitch Streaming Setup Quick Start Guide for OBS: Hello, everybody. Chris here and in this video, I'm going to be showing you guys how you can set up O. B s an order to stream to twitch. So assuming that you've already got a scene set up with one and more sources and microphones, good to go. You can go up to the file menu, go to settings and in settings. We want to drop down to the stream tab so that we can set up a stream. Kiefer twitch. So with service selected, change it from whatever it's currently set to to twitch TV and you'll see two options here Connect account and Ustream Key. So connect account is the modern version, and we'll get into that in a second. But if you want to use the classic way of just copy and pasting your stream key and you can use the ustream key button, so when you do that, you can have it automatically select a server or you can choose one from the list. Obviously, you're gonna want to pick one that's close to your current location. Auto recommended is probably gonna be the way to go because it will always pick the fastest server for you and then you need to paste in a stream. Keep so this will usually be found on your twitch dashboard. But that also added in a link here that you can see next to stream key. So in O b s, just click on the link button and then that'll get you even closer on the Tritch TV user name Dashboard Settings Page. So you can see the primary stream key here. You're going to want to copy that. So I just hit the copy button which will copy it to your computers click board And now every all tab back into O B s weaken. Simply delete whatever's in the stream Key control V to paste then and hit apply. So once you've done that, hit OK and you can hit this start streaming button. So in order to verify that whatever you are streaming to twitch is actually being received , you concert by looking at your information down here, make sure that it says live with the time stamp that has a green box over here and that it has a kill a bit per second bit rate over to the right and then you also want to check your streaming page and make sure that it's actually receiving the data so that people can receive it on the twitch. And so in your dashboard, click on the life link and then that will show you what your viewers air currently seeing. So you can see here I have the obi s logo being broadcast over toothy life video preview over there. And if I un muted that, it should be able to hear myself talking because, uh, well, obviously the microphones being recorded as well. So that's how you can make sure that whatever you are sending over to twitch is being received properly. You can also see your stream health over here and the bottom left. So generally you would want this to stay consistent. If you see it dipping a lot, then you may be trying to set your stream bit rate too high for your Internet connection and another place that you can see that kind of being reflected wave stream health has having issues is with that green box of this. So if it's green, that means that you're it is staying pretty consistent, and it's not having spikes or drops also, you dropped frames should be at several wars close to zero as possible. And that's gonna be the old school way of connecting to church for streaming. So let's stop this dream there for right now and go up to file and settings once again. So they have a new authentication method over on the stream tab, which is the connect account, but and I believe they do this using open authentication to or oh, off to. So if you click on that, you'll get authentication pop up window, which will require you to put in your user name and password for twitch so you can just put that in. And if you have two factor authentication set up on your Twitter account, which is a good idea for extra accounts security, then you can go into your Aussie mobile app or get the SMS text, which will have this six or seven digit code. So in this case, I'll just type that in here. You can check remember this computer for 30 days so that you don't have to be put this in on this specific computer. Also, you can receive this code as SMS text message. If you have your twitch account linked to a phone as well. So a couple ways of doing two factor authentication there. When you don't just hit, verify token and it will authenticate with twitch automatically. So one check box that will pop up here when you have your account directly connected is enable band with test mode. I'm sure that there's this setting over on the twitch dashboard page as well. But if you enable band with test mode and you hit, apply, think what would happen if you had start streaming is that you will not actually broadcast the information live to viewers on twitch. But it will only send the information to the twitch servers for the purpose of making sure that your connection is good. You can also see that since we authenticated with the twitch account, rather than just copy and pasting extreme key, and that we actually get these extra windows which more or less the same things you find on the twitch dashboard except now there in O. B s so you can control information like the title of your stream, what category your game is in. You can interact with the chat straight from within O B s. You can also snapped these windows two corners of the screen. So if you want this to be over on the left, but as part of the main window, you can drop that in there or you can take these outwards, put them on different monitors. If you have them, that kind of thing hit, start streaming. If you want to do the band with test, as long as you have that band with test mode checked, it will give you a little alert here saying that no one's gonna be able to see the stream. And then when you start streaming and band with test, you can see the information in the bottom right and exactly the same way as before. But if you want to actually turn it into a real life stream, just go back up to file settings, then go down to stream and then uncheck enable band with test mode. But you have to actually stop the stream in order to do that first, so stop stream file settings. Uncheck enable band with test mode hit, apply and now have you had start streaming? It showed once again start streaming to twitch life. So once again, we can see that by hitting the start streaming button, going to the life dashboard and just waiting for the live information to appear there, which appears pretty quick by the looks of things. So that's pretty much it for how you set up a Bs to stream to twitch, at least at the basic level of connecting to the twitch service.
