About This Class

Colour Like You've Never Coloured Before!

Hello! My name is Kristy! I'm an illustrator/art teacher and lately the coolest thing I've been working on is creating colouring books. Which, is why I decided to do a short lesson on colouring, a little bit of colour theory but, mostly it will be about maximizing the range of colours and tones my students can achieve with a regular set of pencil crayons! This is a class is appropriate for beginners and anyone interested in drawing and colouring. Colouring has become more and more popular among adults, which is amazing! What a lot of people don't realize is that even when they are colouring in a colouring book there is still room to really stretch those creative muscles.

I am going to be talking about choosing the right materials for your needs, I'll be giving you some exercises so you can practice some techniques that I'll give you and ultimately use in your final artwork. I will also be providing some free printable colouring pages in the resources section of the class.

As an artist and an art teacher I firmly believe that everyone is a creative thinker and we all have an innate need to be makers. Unfortunately, a lot of people start believing somewhere along the way that they are not "good" enough to be artists. The reality is that there is space for all of us to be artists in our own way, which is why colouring is so amazing. It feels great to do it and it's the perfect activity if you want to dip your toe into the world of art before taking the dive.

Hope to see you in class!

This is a great class for people who want to get more out of their coloring and are bored of just choosing colors willy-nilly and want to put some thought into how the final page will look. Thanks for this class!

This was a fun way to learn more about what you can do with coloured pencils. Some great tips

Kristy Boisvert

Illustrator and Art Teacher

My name is Kristy, I'm an illustrator and art teacher. I live in Montreal and I have studied photography, illustration, and art education. Most recently I founded my first company, we design colouring books, greeting cards, postcards, and other bits and bobs.

All I have ever really wanted to be is an artist and it is my absolute privilege to be able to share my passion and skill with my students. I am also so lucky to live in, what I consider, one of the most artistic and inspiring cities in Canada.

Right now I am absolutely obsessed with designing colouring books, I love that it gives me the opportunity to collaborate with so many people and hopefully provide people with a stepping stone into artistic expression.
