About This Class

In this beginner's color theory class, artist Kristy Lankford will teach you how to mix colors to make a painting with acrylic paint. We often use color theory everyday without realizing it when we choose our clothing, decorate our homes, or shop on the internet. It is helpful for any artist at any level to have a deeper understanding of the basics of color theory as it relates to any traditional art media. This overview class will give you just what you need to make informed decisions about your color choices in your fine artworks. Students will learn how to use acrylic paints to make a color wheel, mix color variations, combine color families, and, finally, to make a finished painting. No experience is necessary - all levels are encouraged to join.
