About This Class

Do you love to Doodle? Do you ever look at Doodles for inspiration and get confused by their complexity? Have you tried learning about Doodles and got overwhelmed by all the patterns and names? This class is for you! We will break down Doodling into simple parts that are easy to apply to your own creations.

This class will step doodlers through the basics of creating a black and white art doodle. We will begin with an overview of materials, how to plan the art doodle, basic doodles and the finishing touches.

The class project will be a finished black and white art doodle using the starting skills and 2-3 of the doodles learned.

See the Possibilities.

I don't just see the world as it is, I see the possibilities.

Part of my passion for art is teaching others. I have taught students of all ages for over 15 years. I love teaching the creative soul who thinks they 'can't' do art as well as the advanced student wanting to push their work to a new level.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I work primarily in acrylic paint in a loose, realistic style. I am fascinated by texture and blurring the line between canvas and sculpture. Although nature is my subject, I intensify the viewing experience with brighter colors, unusual viewpoints, and vivid texture. I have participated and received awards in numerous local art shows, group exhibits and juried exhibitions and my work is in many private collections.

I lived the first half of my life in North Carolina and the second in Texas. In 2016 I moved to Virginia and am constantly being inspired by the beauty of the area.
