About This Class

In this class we’ll learn how to create a character and bring it to life. First we’ll model it using the tools and primitives. After rigging the pieces into a workable “puppet” we’ll learn how to use the timeline and create an animation. You’ll be able to do this class in C4D or C4D Lite (included with After Effects CC or later). When you’re finished, you’ll be able to use your robot in my brother Jake’s tutorial.

You will make a robot walk by the end of it even if you have never used the program before.
Highly recommended. I've tried to wrap my head around 3D modeling and animation for several years, but it just never clicked for me. I've used After Effects a lot, but found the 3D software like Blender and C4D really frustrating. Something about this project and tutorial seemed to make it click for me. The project was perfect in scope, lots of cool ways to apply the basic principles, concise, quick to follow, and I'm really happy with what I ended up with at the end.
