Project Description

Share your character illustration!

Create a character along with Gabriel and upload your sketches along the way! From figure drawing and expression exercises to character exploration and color, we want to see it all. Or, share a character illustration you've already drawn, letting us know what you like about it and what you might improve next time you draw. We can't wait to see your work! Exercises to consider:

  • Use quickposes.com or reference.sketchdaily.net to warm up with 30 second poses, then move to 2 minute and 5 minute poses

  • Practice drawing the four core emotions (happiness, fear, anger, sadness), then the extreme version of each expression

  • Use shapes (triangle, circles, and squares) to communicate story and direct your viewer's eye
