1. Character Animation - Easy!: What's up? Fellow Cloud of aureus In this video, serious, I will show you how to make simple character animations like this one here with very limited effort. We're using Adobe Character and Mehta to create the character and then illustrator and Photoshopped to create the background and additional items and graphics, and to bring it all together. We're using final Cut pro as video editing tool. If you're familiar with Adobe Premiere, you can, of course, use that for the video editing as well. But these are the only two editing tools that I'm aware of that are suitable to our task because we rely on a very specific video format to preserve transparency throughout the tool chain. When passing media from one tool to the next, it's very important to export the right format so your results look crisp and clean, and you don't need to spend any time cutting and cropping your material. If you have practiced a little bit, creating a video like this one here will take you maybe 10 to 20 minutes off work. If you have a fast editing machine and a decent and then a connection, it could go from idea to video online in 30 minutes. Watch the following bunch of videos to find out how this video here was created in around 12 minutes. 2. create the main character: lesson number one. Create the character. We make the character first, because the rendering will take a few minutes, which we then can use to do the other tasks in parallel. So open character and Amanda and create a scene with your character. When I create a serious off similar videos, I just copy the scenes by pressing command D Record your speech, then trim the seen and the elements and pull the little ears to smooth the start and end off the animation, then export with Alfa to Adobe Media Encoder. When the encoder window opens, change the export format to pro rests for four for four with alpha. This will create a very large export files around one gigabyte per minute. On my machine, a 2.4 gigahertz I seven with 64 gigabytes of RAM and GPU assisted rendering attacks around 2 to 5 minutes to render one minute off animation. So we started rendering process, and while that's cooking, we move on to the next task 3. add a background: to add background and other graphics to my animations. I like to use free pig. It says free, but it's actually not. I'm a premium member here for around 10 bucks a month. Search for the topic off choice. Let's say classroom download and most objects on this page will give me a vector fire either an E, p s or Adobe Illustrator for Mart. Either of those, both I open an illustrator to make changes to the artwork. As you can see on the tree on the right here, all the individual components are organized in groups. When a select one item of interest, it shows me which group it belongs to on the right. And then I can act on the complete group like, for example, hide all elements at once because, like in this case, I want to remove the tables and seats and then zoom in a little further. So my viewers feel in the first role with Victor fired to consume as much as you want without the result looking blurry or pixelated. 4. video editing: to put our character and the scene together. I'm using Final Cut. Adobe Premiere will work as well. It's only very simple editing, but the editor needs to be able to process progress for four for four with Alpha Channel. I'm using transparent PNG files and moved them around with final kept transitions, the easiest one to uses the push transition. Now, if you just apply a push transition to an object in timeline, it will push the whole screen content around. To make this work properly, you need to add a solid in front of the clip you want to fly in and then reduce the opacity off that solid 20 Now I can fly in and pop out whatever vector graphics you have, and it looks like they're floating over your background and character. I'm using primarily graphics from free pick and fled. I can because I can get them as vector fire. It's so I don't need to do any editing to get them transparently over my footage. 6. add movement with replays: to make your character look even more animated makes sense to use the so called replace. Look over here on the right, I have a replay called Point and over here in triggers, I have assigned the key see to trigger the point motion. So when I pressed see on the keyboard the character points, as long as I keep the button pressed. And then I have a few others like, for example, flap his hands and I combine that with the transition to make it look like he's flying in or raising his hands and his eyebrows at the same time. And then, you know, if I need to bridge sometime somewhere, I made a 12.6 2nd dance session. Seo, when I want to press the button, keeps him dancing for a while, with some pre recorded moves. Very easy to do while doing the other recording performance 7. export: now to export the video to a former that can be uploaded to a video sharing site I usually export as master file to my hard drive in 10 80 p resolution. The fire size with these settings ends up around 50 megabyte per minute, off final video that is OK for most use cases. And when my videos go up to video sharing sites like YouTube or female, I would upload the export just like that as it drops out of final cut. However, for video that I want to embed into websites or post them on other platforms, I like to compress them further with hand brake and reduce the resolution to 7 20 p and then use h 200.265 encoding. With constant quality set to our F 25 I get very nice looking video for around five megabytes per minute. So this video here ended up at 6.7 megabytes, which I can very quickly upload where I want, even in places where they have very strict limitations on file size 8. upload to vimeo: If you want to make videos for other people, it's very useful when you can change the video after you have uploaded and shared. The initial version usually takes a few alterations before clients are 100% satisfied with the result. That's why I'm using video as video hosting platform using their final cut plug in. I can replace the video file on video with a new edit at any time just export, click on video, advanced and then select the fire you wanna replace. So with the same link, people cannot watch the new video the old birds are kept to. So if a customer likes a previous version better, it's a couple clicks away to go back. I have used a lot of different ways to share fires, especially large videophiles with other people around the globe. And I have to say, finally, cat with video plug in rocks
