1. Camtasia Library Canned Music and Video: Hello and welcome back in this lecture, we're going to use the library function to produce Well, what you could use instead, as a course, uh, logo. So what we're going to do is look at adding things from the library. This is almost a way to make a canned course logo from canned pieces. Uh, the library has two pieces of things in it. It has music, and it has themes. Themes are related graphical elements. For instance. Here I have one open called calling lights. Now toe add a theme. You'll notice that over on the right is the length of the themes. This is 20 seconds. The rest these air five by default. Let's go ahead and grab it and drag it onto the timeline. Now we get our 22nd theme. Here I end. Now let's play it and see what it does. Look at this. It's got neat lights and it's got enter your titled here. Okay, so we can modify this title to create an interesting intro logo to our course. It's 20 seconds long, which is a little hung, so we're gonna have to short end up, and it would also be nice that we had some music over the top. Well, what do you know? They also happened tohave free music that you can lay down here in several different ah styles. Let's go with let's say, um, electro pulse. That sounds exciting. Um, here we've got different lengths of music. The intro is just 32 seconds. You can play it by double clicking, and you can hear what it's gonna sound like and stop it. That's dramatic music. I kind of like it. Let's go grab the intro and we'll lay that down in another track that is going to play at the same time as our little intro here. And then let's go ahead and cut out the end of it. So that's the same length as our little course intro. And then let's even put a fade out on the end will lock this So we're Onley editing this and we will fade out, and that will put a fade out on the audio bar here. So now we have some audio and visual that when you play them together, will unlock that sound like this. Nice. Okay, Now, let's, um, take this and what we want to do is we want to add the words to it. So and here's how you had the words to it now this is kind of weird. It's a group we haven't talked about grouping tracks yet, but it actually is. Multiple tracks group together. If you press the little plus sign, it pulls apart so you can see it's composed off the lights and MP four and a text call out on top, which we can now go to and modify the text on this call out. So here we have enter whatever. Let's say we want to give this our course name. So we're going to say, um um, let's call it something about Camp Tasia. How about Camped Asia editor? That might be more appropriate. And how about if we make this mawr like, um, if we're gonna make it a production video or a course video, it only needs to be about five seconds long. So let's see about cutting it down to this. And once again, we're gonna have to lock this and pick this track. Let's put these together. Oh, going to have to removed just size this that together and go to here and we want to put an audio fade out on this. Oh boy, it barely get started before it fades out. And let's see what our production logo looks like. That's a nice little introduced a course and notice. We didn't have to use the gimp or any of these other complex tools. We just They used the library again. Let's review how you do it. All kinds of themes, all kinds of music in the library. You can go from theme to theme. Check these things out, open them up and pull them down onto the timeline. Now, if they are grouped objects, here's another call out. Let's look at some of these call outs. Um, call out rectangular tile. Now. Why is this special? Let's pull it down here with Let's pull it down here and take a look at it and see what's so special about this guy. Oh, look at that. It does a kind of a dissolve in a resin and a rez out, so this is a fancy way to make a text box if you want to add one. So you have library to do all of these things with music and free music. and neat theme. Ah, title pages. I would use them to create a little course production videos. So there you have it. That's the library function. 2. Producing a Video: Welcome back in this lecture, we're going to go over video production. And really, when it comes to the lecture topics, this one couldn't be simpler. Here we finally finished editing a particular lecture. And what do we do with it? We go ahead and we save the project if we haven't saved it already, and then we go to produce and share to produce an MP four video. Now the first thing is going to do is ask us what size and resolution we'd like. Now, we would like this to be definitely what it already is. That's MP four on Lee. Don't create all of the smart files do embedded into an HTML editor Ernst and stuff like that just produced the HTM only and do it at 720 p. Okay, that's gonna be a nice, high resolution widescreen view of things. The next thing you dio is it's going to store it as the production name is going to be of the MP four file is going to be the name of your, uh, camped Asia Project file, but it needs a directory. So you go in here to the directory and you take it to the directory that it should be in what should be camped Asia studio, This is course you, Demi camped Asian Power point and you say save And then you say finish now. I've already got a copy of it there so we can go ahead and replace it by saying yes. And it goes into rendering the project mood. Now, this bar is gonna be on the screen for quite a while. Once it's done, you have successfully produced your video. 3. The Whole Enchilada: Hi. And welcome back in this lecture, we're going to go through the whole Angela. I'm gonna show you how to do everything that I've talked about in the, um the Camp Tasia recorder, the Power Point section and the Camp Tasia video editor. And I'm gonna show you how to make a lecture from scratch. That way, all you got to do is do what I show you in this lecture. Maybe 2030 times. And you only have yourself. Of course, let's begin by assuming that this lecture is going to be composed of some power point slides. So let's bring up power point, and we'll get good at making something in Power point. What I want to do is I want to have a new set of slides. Ah, blankets. Fine. For now, I can always change that later, so we'll create a blank set of slides whenever I do lecture slides on Lee. I always include the course logo as the first slide. That way, I don't have to glue it in. And I could just I could talk over it, and it just easily flows right into the Power point presentation. So what? I'm gonna do first is I'm gonna go open someplace where maybe I got the course logo like organizing your stuff, and I will go to slide one and I will right click and say, Copy that slide And then I'll go down here to my new slide and I will say, Paste that slide. And here is my course logo. Now I can get rid of this blank slide by right clicking and doing delete. Now let's get things set up further by you notice that it's not a widescreen slide. So let's go to design page set up and we will select 16 by nine and we go. Now we've got the wider screen. The other thing that we want to do is go toe animations. We've got the pan showing That's good. So we can do a play here and we could see what it's going to look like. Okay, that's interesting, but let's go to design once again and get a kind of a layout or a look for a slides. How about something like this? That's a kind of a jungle bamboo kind of look, so here will go to home and will add a new slide this one is going to be one of the standard slides of title and content and will give it a title of Let's see what should be the subject of this particular it will make a one slide course. Um, let's say why you should you Demi Okay. And then we come down here and we make the points on the first bullet we say, Mm, because the courses are good because the courses are inexpensive because you can view courses at your leisure and because I told you so There we go. How about that for a set of slides, This is the now only has two slides. It has the course intro and it has one slide. That is why you should you Demi now what we want to do before we leave this, it's the right size. It doesn't have too much text on it. And it's a little wordy, but you know, what can I dio is to animate it so we'll come here to the first thing and we the my favorite animation for slides is a floated okay, it I apply it to both the title and to the body of my slides and it floats in an item at a time as I'm talking about them. So this is it. We've prepared our course lecture slides. Now, the next thing that we would do is we would begin the recorder. To do that, we've got to bring up Camp Tasia. So here we are. We want to make sure that our environment is clean, which it is not now. OK, if we need to save this, go ahead and do a project save on the project we currently have in here and then do a new project to clear everything out. Now we've got a clean recording area. Good. Now what we do is we click on record the screen and that should bring up the camp Tasia recorder. And here we are with the simulated can Tasia recorders started up. Now, remember, the one thing that you really want to do here is you want to select the audio option here up will come the menu and you want to make sure that your headset microphone is checked and not do not record microphone. Now, also make sure that your records system audio is not checked. So you don't have that X road. This isn't is important as making sure that your microphone is working before you record. Okay, Once you check that, then the Camp Tasia record is going to expand a little bit. It's going to show you the audio recording level here, and it's going to show you that audio is on. Make sure that that's the case. Now, we will always record full screen, and once you're ready to record, you just press the big red button and it'll warn you how to turn it off. F 10 is the way to turn off recording, and then we do the countdown. 321 and we're recording. Okay, Once the can't Asia recorders started, we can take our time going to slide show and beginning our presentation from the beginning . Here it is waiting for our first mouse click to that, I can say, Welcome back to my course on you, Demi camped Asian power point on blah, blah, blah yada, yada, yada. In this course, we're going to talk about why you should you Demi. So let's get right into it. First of all, because the courses air good second. Now, notice how impressing the, uh, the actually the Ford Arrow key on my keyboard to make the next item come up. So as I talk about them because the courses are inexpensive and you know, they really are rather cheap compared to, you know, university units and so on. Um, and because you can view the courses at your leisure, you know, you can read the, um, the bullet items to people. It's much better if you don't, and you just summarize when you're finally done, you shut down the U Demi recording by hitting F 10 and up comes to save screens. And here we are, the save screen pops up. And if this was really the safe screen which start showing you the video that you just saved here in the window at any point, you don't need to wait for the video to end. You can throw away the video of its junk, and you want to try again, or you can click on Save an Edit. Now, when you click on Save an edit up will come a standard windows save screen and you pick the directory in what you'd like to save the T o wreck file. Go ahead and change the name of it. Capture one is a bad name. Then select the directory. You'd like to put it and save it as a T wreck file. This will give you the ability to modify the cursor and other things. Once you get the T wreck file into the Camp Tasia recorder, which is the next step that happens when you hit Save you suddenly enter the Camp Tasia recorder. And here we are inside the camp Tasia, editor on what we just recorded. I'm calling it the whole enchilada. Its a T wreck. Violent. It's the only thing in my clip bin now. The first thing that I would do is probably had more things to my clip bin. So let's go ahead and remember, we don't need the course logo that's built into the slides that I recorded, but we do need my production logo. So I'm gonna import media and go to my Brian Jacks author Brian Jackson directory where I can import the production logo. Let's go ahead and drag that down to track, too, and we'll stuff it up here in the very front, and then we'll drag track once that it begins at the end of the production logo. Now, as far as the audio on this, it looks pretty good. But I've been bringing everything up a one volume clicks. Let's bring this up and we'll go to the cursor and do the standard mods of making it to and having rings on left and right clicks. So we've made that modification. Now what we want to do is want to get rid of a lot of this recording that we made because it's all me talking up, getting ready to display the first slide so the first slide doesn't display until much later. In fact, let's zoom outs that we can see the entire video here. That's really quite long. There we go, And let's see if we can find where the Power Point presentation actually occurs. There it is. Oh, that's us still typing it. Okay, so when do we actually okay? This was but we're clearing things and here's the actual presentation way down here. So I'm gonna take everything up until then, and I'm going to delete it. All this talking about what I was going to dio and we'll go ahead and we'll hit the scissors on that and let's see what that leaves us with. We have the production logo, which is on the front. That's fine. Now, here comes the course logo. Very nice. Now what we will end up doing is going to the end because thes slides end at some point and I'll strip off the end. Okay. Oh, I just realised, as far as a cursor, we don't need a cursor because these air slide, so I don't need to double it. I actually need to come here and click and say, display no cursor. And now we have just a very quick slide presentation. We are ready to go ahead and save this project. We give it a name right now, it's called whole enchilada. But I'm already saving something under that name, so I think I'll give it another name. Normally, name your projects the same as your Dereck Weil's. The same is your MP four files that you can keep it all organized. Okay, we will go ahead and save project as um we'll call this sample one, and we will do that in the power point in my you Demi camped Asian Power Point directory. There we go. And Now we're ready to produce the course. So we go ahead and we say, produce and share. Ah, we say that we want it to be MP for Onley up to 7 20 and then we pick the directory for it . Once again, My you Demi Camped Asia Power Point directory. Well, say save and we say finish and it goes into rendering the project. Now, the next thing that we do with these projects that we actually we actually upload them to you, Demi, and make them part of our curriculum that we worked on earlier. And in the next section, we're finally going to get into how to do that.
