1. Trailer Branded Design Elements: 2. The ONE Free And Easy To Use App Every DIY Designer Needs: through the super quick tutorial in which I want to talk about the one free and easy to use app every do it yourself designer needs Now. If you have already watched our first tutorial, then you probably know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the color picker. So what I want you to do if you don't already use a color picker app is go to google dot com and type in color picker app for Firefox or chrome or safari Whatever browse it is you're using. I actually like working with chrome because many online photo editing tools do not really like Firefox or Internet Explorer, for example than mostly prefer chrome. And the color picker up that I'm using is called Color Zillah. It's available both for Firefox and for Chrome, but there are many other APS out there. They're all free, and they all kind of work the same way. So let's just click on color Zieler, and then you can simply click on this green button here to add your app to your browser. It is a simple browser extension. You might have to close and reopen your browser so that it's really installed And once you've done that, you will get this little pen here. And I've already shown you that in our first tutorial, this pen is incredibly useful. If you want to find out the color code for a certain color somewhere in your browser window , it can, either. The window you're working in right now, for example, let's just click on the text box here again, Click on all in the color circle, click on edge and then our little color pen. And let's just say we want to use the shade of blue here now, in the little grey navigation bar you can know, see the clock, oats, the hex code and their RGB code and only need to do know is click and your color picker app copies the color code to your clipboard. So if you now click on wherever you need to insert your color code and present control V, you get the color code that you've just used. You see our word whistles has the same color like her blue eyes. Now it also works from a different browser window, simply open. I don't know what website or a photo where you really like the color issue. Click on your color picker 10 and then you just click on the color that you like. Let's take this shade of red click. Copy your color code to the clipboard. Go back to your window in Canada or in pic monkey inwards. It also works in WordPress, for example, press copy V and insert your coat and 3. 5 Secret Sources For Free Background Textures To Use In Your PDFs: one. In this short video, I want to talk about my five secret resource is for free background textures to using RPGs and also the most important things you need to keep in mind when looking for and choosing a background texture. Let's start with the right former. Do you know that I always like to keep things simple and try and avoid photo shop or other nerdy solutions? This is why we have to make sure we're on Lee downloading J Packs or PNG files because these files we can actually open and if necessary, added in pic Monkey, I once completely fell in love with the windage texture package. I clicked on buy right away and super disappointed that is, came in a weird former that I wasn't even able to open. The next thing that is important about background Texas is to keep things simple. The fires that I give away as a bonus for this class, for example, are all rather subtle and light, and I'm using these textures to make sure my pdf's are easy to read. Harmonious. Do not distract from a message and also don't interfere with my branding. Let me show you what I mean these plaster textures here by lost and taken dot com, for example. They are perfect for worksheets because they had an interesting structure to your layer, which is so much better than plain, wide and boring paper. But they do not require much editing. The only thing I probably do with these textures is make them black and whites and give them a neutral look and maybe fate the middle to make sure the text is really good to read . Let me show you another example by lost and taken, Not come this one here, these air paper textures and again there fell in usual. They are just a little something to your background, but they don't require a lot of extra work to make sure your message and branding really put about. No other comparable websites are texture den dot com. They are for more than 1000 free textures for both commercial and personal use. Then we've got Texture Palace. That's another great site. We've also got texture king and, for example, a background texture that works really incredibly well for all kinds of documents is would he can create the most amazing recipe work shades with either wide world, where you simply insert your text, you would have to wide wash this here faded a little. Or if you're using colored board, for example, like this one here, then he would have to create tax boxes with a colored background so that your taxes really easy on the eye. Now, if you want to go for something extravagant, don't get carried away so that your background doesn't look more interesting than your actual content. And always make sure the text fits the look and feel of your brand. This is really important to create and ensure brand awareness and bread consistency because , after all, you want to create your signature design that everybody can recognize right away. If you're looking for patterns, there is another great website called the Pattern Library and these air parents that I actually developed by designers. There's a lot of great stuff here. If you are a photographer or a design, if you're working with kids, you can definitely find some really beautiful textures here. They'll soak up the white would, for example, now, if there's no explicit download button, just click on your right most button and then shoes save graphic as from the drop down box on the last thing that we really need to point out is that before actually using a texture for your work, always make sure to read the terms and conditions. The websites I've just shown you offer their textures for free. But of course, they do have some rules they want you to comply with. So now you go find some beautiful textures on. I would show you what to do with them in one of our next videos. 4. How To Create Branded And Textured Backgrounds In Canva: Hi, guys. Welcome to this video in which I'm going to show you how to create background Texas in Canada, and the first thing again that you need to do is pick a canvas that fits with your page size. I'm just going to stick with Document a four and the button we need to click on his background. What camera does not offer, unlike Pic Monkey, is the option to create transparent backgrounds. What you can do, however, is give your page one of your brand colors. For example, let's just click on plus and enter one of our brand codes. Now, why would you want to give you a page? A color background? Maybe you just want to create a one. A two page document is an opt in off, and you want to brand your offer as much as possible. Now we've simply adjusted the color off our background texture. But what you can do in camera is used one of these free texture options Here, for example, this one Oh, maybe this one. These are all background textures which look really nice, and if you insert color two text boxes in your document, this is definitely very eye catching. Now you might be wondering, but why don't I create the entire document in camera Off course when you're just creating one page, Canada is a great option. But remember, you want to create something that is s branded as possible Problem number one in Canada wrists. They only have a limited funds selection, and chances are that your brand phones are not part of their portfolio. The second reason why I prefer using word is Canada doesn't have a spellcheck. And believe me, you really want to spell check your document automatically. Reason number three Canada is incredibly slow. Depending on your computer, it can take ages before you finalize your document. And you just don't have the time because you're a busy entrepreneur. Reason number four. Even though Canada offers a great customer service and it's constantly working on improving their office, it is still a little buggy, so something might look great on your screen. Everything is in place. You're completely happy. And once you click on download and open your pdf or your image, you see that lines out off place text elements are missing on. This can drive you absolutely crazy. You don't want that experience. Download your texture as an image and insert that image as a background just like you would in suit your cover for. 5. How To Create Branded Design Elements In Canva: Welcome back, everyone in this video, I want to show you how to create beautiful design elements in Canada. Let's open a blank canvas nave. You've already watched the video on how to create textured and Brendan backgrounds in Canada. You already know that Canada does not have an option yet to create transparent backgrounds . This really is a big advantage of pig monkey, and for us this means that everything we create here we cannot use on textured backgrounds such as our wooden table, for example, or a stone wall. However, we can use all the design elements from Kenya on simple right pages or pages that we have given a specific color. All you need to make sure is that you're designing your elements in Canada on the same background color, like the color you want to use for your documents. In word. Let's just stick with white in our case here. So the first thing I want you to do is go to search and then look at all these tiles here. Imagine you want to create a speech bubble. You just click. And what you can see is that Congress offering an amazing range off free speech bubble elements. So you just click on something that you like and you start customizing. You can give the element your brand color. You can change the text, and of course, you can change the front. Now. If Canada is offering the front that you actually want to use, maybe even one off your brand funds, that's great. You can finalize your design element ear and then just click on download and click on as an image. And I'm going to show you in another video how to crop this image and insert it in your word document. Now let's say come that does not offer a form that you want to use in your document. This does not mean you cannot use the element. All you gotta do is get rid of the text box. Just click on delete after highlighting it, and then you can still download your image. And like I said in another video, I'm going to show you how to crop it, how to inserted and how to overlay your own text. And you can basically do that with every design element that you can see here. Now let's take a look at errors For example, again, there is a whole range of free design elements which, by the way, are not only great in your work sheets or in your e books. They're also raid on your website. You can use thes elements on sales pages about me pages, and they look really, really good. No, if you come across something like this here where you can see the blue sky, that means that you're meant to drag a photo in here so you would have to goto uploads and then upload. One of your own image is a photo of yourself or whatever it is that you want to show you. Click on that photo and it will automatically be inserted. He off course. When you double click, you can reposition your photograph. I hope you can see that little line at the top. If we left it like this, we would cut off her hair, for example. So we're not going to do that. Let's leave her like this, and when you're done with repositioning, you just click here and you go to go. Let's change the background color off our arrow, and you've got another great design element. Click on download as an image, and now you can watch the video about how to actually insert your design 6. How To Create Design Elements In PicMonkey: Welcome back, everyone. In our last video, I showed you how to create design elements and word. And today I want to show you how to create design elements in pic monkey. And the first thing you need to do is go to pic monkey dot com, then hover over the design tab and then click on the big square here, check their transparent canvas box and click on apply in the navigation bar on the left. There is a Nike in that says overlays. Now click on overlays, and what you can see here are all kinds off different overlays. You could customise and brand, you know, with geometric overlays. But this is something you can also do inward. We've got hearts, doodly hurts, doily hearts, stars, spiral graph symbols, arrows and all these things you can use to pimp your worksheets. For example, if you've got bullet points and you don't want to use the standard word Icann's, all you need to do is click on one of the things in pic Monkey and then you click on the I can and you drag it into one off the corners, on top and in this pop up box here. Click on color type in your brand color Coach and Walla. You've branded a pig monkey Aiken. Now the next thing you need to do is click on basic edits in the navigation bar on the left , then on Crop, and then you simply click on this pop up window. Here, you keep your left most button pressed to move it around, and then you click on the corners to make it smaller. You make it a smallest possible because otherwise you're creating unnecessary, transparent frames around your Aikin, and when you're done, you double click with your left mouse button and you're ready to save you. Click on safe under file name. You just give your Aiken a name. Make sure to leave it in P and G former so that the background is actually transparent and you click on safe. Now, let me show you something else. We're still in the overlay navigation menu, scrolling down, and then, for example, let's click on postal and just take one off the stamps. Here. No again. You move your stamp to one off the corners. You can enlarge it by clicking on the corners. Type in your brand code in the overlay color box. And now what we need to do is get rid of this text here because you want this space for your own text. So in the overlay box, in the second tap, you click on the razor and you're gonna have to move this slider to the right and when you know, hover over your overlay, I hope you can see that there is a little eraser and a circle, and once you start clicking your mouse button and moving around that circle, you can erase the text. So now we've created space for your own text. But let's say you don't like the shape off your overlay because you actually want to insert a title in landscape. Form it now. What you can do is in larger overlay by clicking on the corners, which is gonna in larger overlay proportionally. But when you click on the sites and at the same time, press the shift key and keep it pressed, you can change the shape off euro bill A and make it really long or very thin. You can do whatever you want to do because you're not bound to the original proportions. Another thing I want to show you. For example, let's take this plane here. This is a beautiful overlay that's going to give your worksheet a retro style. If we simply try and erase the text here like we did with our last overlay, you see what's gonna happen. We're actually gonna burn a hole into our oval isil. That's not good. Let's undo this. But what we can do is first of all, we just give our overlay our brand color. And then we scroll away, up and toos geometric shape, which more or less fits our overlay, and we just place it on top off the text, click on the color box, give it the same color and you can see now we've got a beautiful plane and we can enter our own text message here. Now. How do we do that in the navigation bar on the left, Click on text, then choose one of your brand funds. Click on add text and you're going to create a text books. Enter your text. Click on the text books. Keep your mouse button clicked the left one. Put it on top of your overlay. Either enter your color code for your text here in the color box or simply move around their little circle here and you go to go, the next thing again would be to click on basic edits than crop and safe. Let me show you another example. Let's go back to overlays and go back to our postal box. Now imagine you want to use this circle here, but just like that, it looks a little bit boring. You could use this one as a bullet point, for example, or when I can to show. Okay, people, watch out. This is important. So what you can do once again, is you give it your brand color and then you go back to dream. A trick overlays. You insert a circle in the right color, and what I once stayed, for example, is used that kind of circle as a bullet point. But I branded this circle not only with my colors but with my logo. And if you want to do something like this, you just stay in overlays and then you click on your own, which opens a pop up window, which you cannot see because I'm working with two screens and then from the pop up window. You just choose your logo. Who would actually have to give this circle one of my other Brende colors? Because otherwise you can't read my logo properly, and that's it. Let's crop double click. And this is a really, really cool bullet pond, but is not only in your brand colors, but even wearing your logo okay onto the next thing I want to show you in no overlays tap when you scroll down, just done all the postal things. There is a lot more that you can use, for example, dashed and lined. These are incredible overlays that you could use as a divider. For example, like this maybe something like this. You used the shift key again to change the proportions. Use your brand colors, and there you go another great divider, especially for health coaches who want to create menus or recipe books, for example. Ah, flourishes. You see these already have that menu character, and if you combine that with a really beautiful background, you can create some amazing work sheets and something there looks really, really stylish. If you want to use the divider, make sure you're using another canvas. Former something that is really, really long, because otherwise your divider might be a little too short. One more thing I want to show you in this navigation tab. Here is how to create a beautiful shadow effect with your overlays. Let's take these hearts, for example, given your brand color and then click on the heart with the right most button click on duplicate overlay, and then give this second heart another one of your brand colors. And then you simply take this heart and put it on top off your other heart. If you want them to switch places, click on the right most button and send your second heart to the back on. What you've got here is a really beautiful overlay that will just add again. Ah, little bit of extra professionalism to your worksheet. No, we've come through everything we can do in the overlays tap, but of course, pic monkey office even more. Where most people don't know is that you can find more great overlays under themes. Just click on themes in the navigation bar on the left, and then you can see here that there are a lot of different themes were picked monkey offers a collection of all kinds of different functions, features and elements. For one thing, the 1st 1 is Winterland, for example, and when you squall down you see under Winterland there is a section that is again called overlays, and in this section you will find sometimes familiar overlays, but also completely new overlays. Something like this or something like this or something like this. And then again, you can simply pick something that matches the overall look of your layout and your theme, and you can create really special ICANN's to go with your worksheets. I'm gonna show you a couple of more examples. Another great theme, Miss Sweethearts. That is beautiful for everyone dealing with relationships, for example. Or if you want to create a themed worksheet for Valentine's Day, your Mother's Day, just click on sweethearts and then look at all the things they're offering here. I really like the little Cupids or the roses on a great theme that I like to use because I'm all about mask. It's is the comic heroes theme, and when he was quote on here you will see the speech balloons, and these are really great because what you can do is you can customize one off the speech balloons again with your Brent colors, and then you could go back to text ensued some text on. Then place this speech bubble right next to our above your mask it in the worksheet, and this is something that I'm going to show you in another video. The last thing about overlays and design elements that I want to show you is under textures . When you click on textures and, for example, click on edifice, you can give your canvas a whole new look. For example, this brick wall here. Or you could also use a metal texture, or maybe aboard texture or a cork texture. And once you found something that he would like to use as an Aiken or as a design element, click on. Apply then in the navigation bar on the left, click on frames and then shape cutouts. And then you can simply choose one off the cutout, such as the So Call the square stars. Whatever you can, increase the size of your cut out by moving the slider to the left or to the right. You can even change the angle, make sure that you still get transparent, background checked, apply. Go to crop crop, apply and safe. And you know the next video. I'm going to show you how to insert and actually work with the kind of design elements we just created.
