Project Description

This class includes two embroidery patterns. The Branch Sampler and The Cherry Blossom Branch Hand Embroidery Pattern. I've included a few different sizes for 15cm/6" to 10cm/4" hoops

The Branch Sampler

  1. Download this pattern and transfer onto a simple and light fabric like unbleached cotton and start experimenting with the different stitches to create your own textures, colour combinations. Try a different technique, colour combination and stitch on each branch. Go all out on these small projects. You could even lay out all the colours you have, and pick them blind. No peeking and no exchanges, try to find a way to make it work. Or make the branch and blossom all in one colour.
  2. After you've finished the sampler take a moment to reflect: What do you think worked? What didn’t work? What will you use in you final piece?
  3. Photograph your piece. Upload your photo to the class project section for feedback and to inspire other students.

The Sakura Blossom Branch Pattern

  1. Download the pattern and transfer it to a piece of fabric and use the sampler as a source of inspiration to create your unique version of the sakura blossom pattern.
  2. Photograph your piece andupload your photo to the project section of this class for feedback and to inspire other students.
