1. 0 Introduction: Hello, everyone. This is going to be a begin Risk White on how to create a simple animation in after effects . I will go to step by step, explaining each tool or effect i years. 2. Part 1 The workspace: Hello, everyone. This is going to be a begin risk wired to hunt to create a simple animation in after effects. I'll guide you step by step, explaining each tool or effect i years. This is the project panel. It is a place where you start all the elements like project files, videos, photos, oh, Dios and so on. This is the timeline. It is. The working area is a place where you can drag elements in and build our animation. In the timeline, I'll elements will be shown in slayers similar to photo shop. This is FX impressive. It is where you find all kinds of effects. You can add them by dragging them into the timeline on individual elements. If it controls is the window with the controls for effects, you apply here, you can have multiple effects on a single element. The composition window is where we see all the magic happens. It is the window where we see our visual animation in action and this is the toolbar. It is a place where you will find all the different tools to help you in your animation. If you want a certain panel, you can goto window and select the panel you need to work with. If you close the panel of multiple panels and you don't know how to open them again, you can goto window, workplace and click on default, which will create a default workplace, just like when you first install the program. 3. Part 2 Create Shapes: Okay, we will start by creating a new composition. You can hear the click over here. New composition. Or you can go all the way over here where this iPhone is, frankly great. And you have a new composition. Settings were going to rename this too deep. We're gonna live in 1920 bite and 80. That's full HD. We're gonna live with 30 frames per seconds and duration 10 seconds long, okay? And this is going to be our new composition. We will draw feature bias in the pento, and we will later animated. This is the pencil over here in the tools. If we could go on it on, we make a shape, any kind of shape. It will automatically create a shape layer over here. You can also create the shape layer by picking on your timeline. Right. Click new and goto shape, layer. And this is going to be another shape, as you can see. But if we have this shape selected, for example, and we create another shape, let's say we use one of the shapes we have here on the lips. Stop. It will automatically create the shape in the same shape layer. If I click on this shape layer two and move it around. It will automatically move both of them because they are in the same shape like this is just a basic understanding of the shapes and how they work. We were all start creating our fish and animated after that silly this store. I want to create a new shape layer. But he named this one. Go to our mental and let's make a fish. We will click to the left of here. This is our starting point. If we go over here, it will make a line. But if we hold and drag, we can bend the line. So I want to make it this. Okay, Perfect. This is my feet right now You can play with a stroke. Oh, you can disable the stroke to have no stroke. I want no stroke on my drawing. Okay? And I want the fish to be Look, so I'm going to take this car now. I want to great my fish tale and I want to be on a separate layer. I can either de select this one and I would automatically create a different shape layer when I create the fishtail or I can't us. Right Click. Go to new and select shape, layer and create the shape the slave. I want to create it just by not having the Slayer selective that stuff. Okay, I like it. And I'm going to call this right league three. Name and beef there. I'm going to go to my selection toe, and I'm going to drag this fish tale all the way over here. 4. Part 3 Anchor point tool: Now, I'm gonna go all the way over here where the anchor point is and I'm gonna click of eight. And I can change this anchor point and your point is going to be in the middle of the composition, no matter the shape. I want to drag this point. Although over here, because when I'm going to rotate this shape is going to rotate around this point. If the point is, although here the shape is going to rotate like this, I can give you an example. If I click, add which is the rotation option for this layer, and I just play with the numbers. As you can see, it will rotate around that anchor point, but if the anchor point is all the way over here, it will rotate around there. That's how we make the animation. I also on the fish body anchor point to be all the way into the middle. I will explain a little bit how the zoom works. You can either zoom by using the scroll the most Grow him are out. Oh, tokenism. By going over here, click on this and you can have different percentage. 200. Let's say 50 12 so you can have different kinds of zoom. If you go all the way to the feet, your screen over here is going to be as big as the composition window like this. You can also hold space, and this little hand appears and you can click and drag all over your composition. This is very handy if you have very high zoom and you click space and you have this hand and you can drag around your composition. But you can just go all the way over here to the handle this Click and drag whatever you want. I'm gonna go the way to my ellipse still in a great great I want to create an eye for my fish and I want to be on a separate layer So I'm just going toe right click new shape layer and I want to click and drag And this is going to be my eye As you can see, these ellipses not perfect and events. If I hold shift, it will be a perfect lips. So why holding shift? I'm going to create an I. I want this guy to be white, so I'm gonna go to the field and I want to choose white. I'm gonna go to the selection toe and I'm gonna drug it all the way over here. I want to explain to how the layers work. If my eye, I'm going to rename this. Hi. So if my eyes behind fish, I will not be seen because the fish layer is in front of my eye. If I have my eye selected and dragged the I the I appears behind my fish, I'm going to end up and I'm going to take a high all the way to the front. And I'm also going to go to the anchor point and take a hunker point all the way to the middle of the I. If it were going to select everything and we're going to close everything so I can explain to you the transform options 5. Part 4 Transform options: the transform options. We're gonna go to the selection tool. We're going to zoom in a little bit and we are going to select just the tail. And I went to click off here on this bottle. And here we have the transform options. The important ones are the position, which is the position off your shape earlier. Whenever remove it, the position will change. You see, it changes the coordinates right here. We're going to end up the scale. It starts up 1%. If we scale it down, it will scale down. If it's get it up, it will get bigger. Let's go to 100 again on deputation. It's going to rotate around our anchor point, as you can see. Okay. And the opacity is the transparency. Lord, layers 100 is maximum transparency. Meaning you can see it perfectly. But if we scale it down, this will become transparent. If I track this, you can see it's transparent. I can drag this all the way to zero and make it completely invisible. It will disappear. I want to go on dough. These are the main options we're going to use in our animation today. How does this work. You have a stopwatch over here. For example, If I click on the stopwatch, it will create a key frame over here or whatever you are on the timeline. If I go all the way to the two seconds here and click here, we can add another key frame if we click on the stopwatch again. Eight William. Of all the key friends we have, I'm going to click here on deputation on this stopwatch. We're gonna make a key frame of here, and I'm gonna go all the way to so seconds and I'm going to rotate this. We're going to change the value toe, Let's say minus 51 and then I want a three seconds and I'm going to go to plus, let's say 50 something. And now we have an animation. This kid friends over here represents the animation. If I go like this, you will see the animation. So this is basically how we're going to animate the or fish. I'm going to remove its key frames 6. Part 5 Hide, solo and lock layers: If we click on this, I over here this I can hide less. Let's say we want to hide the I. It will hide it. I we want to hide the tail quickly. Here it will hide the tail. If you click them back and click on this point over here, it will solo just one layer. For example. I just want to see my fish. If I click this, it will automatically solo just this layer. I console a multiple layers. Let's say the eye as well. If we have a lot of layers over here, that's a 2020 plus layers. We can just select two or three layers that we want to be shown and work on them. This over here is a look. If we look any layer, let's say we looked a fish body. It means you cannot edit this. Whatever you try and you cannot even selected, you cannot do anything to it. It's locked. Let's say you have a big around, for example, anyone to look the background so you don't edit the background by mistake. While you're editing the other layers you have on your composition, we will this electorates lock because we want toe start animating or fish now 7. Part 6 Animating shapes using the Transform Options: we will animate our fish. I want to tell to rotate. So I'm going to go over here and make a rotation. You can either to these by clicking air rotation s scale, P position and D opacity. If I click t, it will show the capacity fight. Make three. It also position. If I hold shift and click other the next one options like let's say scale. It will also open just the scale and the position This by holding shift on your computer for the I I just want to scale. So I'm just gonna be this for the fish, the body itself. I want the position B and reputation for the tailor. Just one deputation. Click on every stopwatch over here to make a key frame. We will go all the way to one plus second. So we will create key frames, the same value to one second and 1/2. And we're going to go in the middle right now. And we're going to change the veterans right now. Meditation for the few style I wanted to go up like this. The position off the fish were animated a little bit later. The rotation I wanted to be a little bit like this. As you can see, the fishtail doesn't follow our fish body. Same with the I. If I'm off the fish position all the way down the I doesn't follow the body or the tail. So how do I do that? Simple. We have these options over here. We can parent them toe are other layers by clicking here, and we can select which layer and they are parent with, Let's say, the eyes going to be parent with fish. So if I moved ah, fish position, it will automatically follow the fifth position. But the problem is, I have to parent this before I start to edit dispositions. I'm just gonna window I'm going to the ladies on as well this key for him. And I'm going to pennant the I and the fishtail by clicking either clicking here and circling the fish. Or I can just click and drag undies and go all the way to the fish body. And they will automatically be parent with this Blair. So know if I click on the body position, it will automatically move all of them. Okay, let's go date again. Type of these and I I want I was gonna zoom a little bit. I want to make it like this. So what I'm doing here is playing with scale of the I, which makes it. I have the impression it's closing and it's opening again. This is happening around your anchor point someone over this. As you can see, it's animated clothes and on the where have all the way to defeat just decrepit of them. We start to bring life in our animation. Okay? I also want when I go all the way over here and I want a future body also write it a little bit. Maybe a little bit like this, perfect. 8. Part 7 Loop expression: so we have our basic animation of the fish right now, but as you can see, this animation only happens in the 1st 2nd After that, nothing happens, and it's a bit too long. So I want to click on all of this cute friends by holding out. We can click and drag them to make it faster. Okay, lets see it now. So how can I make this repeat? It's very simple if I click on the stopwatch, which will automatically remove all my difference. But if I hold out and click on the stopwatch, it will give me an option to make code into the animation. If you go over here on this play button and click on it, you will have a lot of expressions over here. If you go to property and you select, look out. By selecting days, it will automatically look all these key frames again and again and again, an infinite times. Let me give an example. As you can see the I it's looking. I'm gonna do the same thing to my tell to the rotation. Out and click, Go over here property and select loop out, and now both of them are animated. I wanted to the same thing to the rotation off the body. Click over here, go to property and select. And now we have an animation that repeats itself. 9. Part 8 Easy ease keyframing: So if I zoom out from my let's go to the feet, we can see all the composition. I can go to my position and track the fish all the way to the right outside my composition and this is going to be the starting point. I want to animate this fish going toe going from right two left. So I'm gonna go, let's say all the way to the three seconds and I'm going to drag my fish all the way. So if I click over here and go to 25 I can see a little bit outside my composition. I want this fish to go all the way over here. Let's beauties. So we have automation. I don't want my feet to move in a straight line. I can just click on these line I have and make it bend a little bit. I also, if I click over here, I can arrange it however I want. Okay, I like this. If we select all of our key frames and we rightly condemn, we go to the kid from assistant and goto. Easy is it will give our key frames and Eazy e's effect. It looks more natural like this 10. Part 9 Creating background and water bubbles: let me show you how you can create the background as well. I'm going to right click off here that when I go to new go to solid and I will call these beachy for the background going to select, you can say whatever color you want. Let's go with White for now. Just click OK? And this is going to be all background goal that we're over here and I want to choose Ramp . It's an effect from Effort Impress. It's go here program and this is grating around. Uh, we can drag it on your pregnant and then we have two colors. If we click over here, I want to make this a bluish color. And this one a dark blue. Yes, something like these. And I will love this because I don't want to edit anymore. Maybe this fish is swimming too fast over here, so I'm just going to the ladies. Okay, maybe too fast. Let's go even higher. Let's go. Six seconds lets you know what we can add. Some bubbles. We can create bubbles using the Ellipse store on a just click, and I wonder is to be let's say we're not white but the bluish white like this, and I want to click t as the transparency and go all the way to 40. Okay, uh, I'm gonna take the anchor point on, take it all the way over here because this is where the bubble stars and I'm going to take this bubble all the way out here on the bottom. I'm going toe rest, be for position and I'm going to go all the way to the 1st 2nd I'm going to go all the way to the eight seconds I'm going to drag these all the way over here, and I want to buy the band to it. And now we have some bubbles in the water and what I can do that's really named this it's gonna be. And I can duplicate this by going toe and it and taken duplicate. Or I can just press control and D in duplicate, okay. And I can click on both of these and change the positions a little bit. So I want to go all the way to the 1st 2nd I will click on the 2nd 1 I'll grab it old over here, and I'm gonna go all the way over here and track it like this. This bubble would go this way, the next bubble. I want this to go to come from here. And when it gets here to reach like this and I'm going toe drag them because I want them to be different from each other. Let's go to fit and that's see from beginning to end. But now we have some bubbles. We can click on all of them. All three select told them we can right click and recomposed them, meaning all of the letters will go in the same folded. This basically greats a folder with all of the layers and it takes all the effects of the slayers. There somewhere to recompose is I'm going to name this baby one. Okay? And as you can see, it would have these bubbles. I want to duplicate this one, and I want to drag this one a little bit like this, which changes the time of this one and makes more bubbles. And I also want to change the position of this run by clicking P and clicking the right and left positions. Let's go all the way over here. I want to duplicate this one again Position again. I'm gonna take this on all the way like this to the right. And I also want to change the position of this one even more. I want to replicate its on again position again. And I want to change the position again, all the way like this. And now have some bubbles and a fish. 11. Part 10 Exporting the animation: in order to say we go to composition at to render queue you go toe output model and you select your four month. I usually go with quick time, okay? And surrender. You can take what you learn here and use it on your own animation and create whatever you can imagine. I hope this helps you in creating amazing animation. I wish you good luck.
