About This Class

Do you know you could make your own doll via crochet? Yes, you can! And it's relatively easy. Crocheted (or knitted) dolls are also known as "Amigurumi".

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, usually cute stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is a portmanteau of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.

If you are a absolutely beginner to crochet, it's advisable to know some basic stitches before watching this class. Minimum crochet knowledge needed are:

  • Ch (Chain Stitch)
  • Sc (Single Crochet)
  • Inc (Increase)
  • Dec (Decrease)

Familiar with all those stitches? Then you're ready to learn! This class is also suitable for fellow crocheter who already know how to make Amigurumi because I'm going to show some different methods for different techniques. Which I promise you, that you will change the way you work and start to use for every Amigurumi project onwards!

1. Introduction & Outline: e around them and show you the tips and tricks for you. I mean, me projects. This kids I'm going show you today are definitely going to help you, especially if you are a beginner and starting off understanding how this technique affect your and products and also to lessen the appearance of holes Annual amateur me projects in this class, I'll be explaining one how to do a magic circle. Invisible decrease. Joining around with four continuous round with it right side or the wrong side of you. Thanks. How to do with the ultimate finish and finally, tips for joining me. Going parts. Let's start. So mostly, Mr Tour, I'll be using a five minute er fresh a hook with a weight five bulky company yard, so it's easier to see. 2. Normal Loop vs Magic Ring: Before I start showing you how to do the measuring method, I'll show you the normal method. First, in the normal ring method, you would usually start with two chain stitch and then proceed to do your Zynga Cochet in the first stitch. Great it to rose with a normal method. As you can see, it has a big hole in the middle and I can close it on this site. Use this suing You don't show up a center. I don't like this. And if it so I'll be using the magic leans method which I'll show you. You start looking twice around your finger. I'm put your shake hook and to to the yard strike and then pull the feeding young True Full again the yard and then you get what she can close Later on, I'll stick six Rashean show you in a while Six single stitches on This is how it looks before I closed. This is how you close. Remember this two strands are you here? And then we pulled this and not this friend and see which one get pools first and then you locate that moving strength, then point to tighten the other see the first look close to sinking seats close tightly. It can pull lead to make it close. Fighter, of course. And then you can pull the end to make the utter look here. It's close, nice and tight. Do a second year old to show you. As you see here, we created two rows. It's nice and tight. The whole is not as visible as that. A normal way, uh, making it look. So I definitely want say, this is a very, very nice that me and simple one that you can use for all your on going projects. 3. Joined Round Method: in the joint method and set off just in almost over she 40 rounds. You just need to add a just ditch in the beginning, off every neuron and also to end your own, you need to do a slip stitch. I'll show you. Here was a new much Bring that I did. So she begins. You wouldn't need to create a King Stitch first. Just received Teoh Normal Stitch. I would do six in this movie, so you can see here I created 16 for Shane in my magic and out sounds with all first, second hurt 4th 5th and sixth. So to end this round, I would since stitch into the first sank racheted around one. Yeah, actually, those old stitch into the James Stritch. But you know what? That's for another topic today. We'll just do substance into the first Christian. Okay, this is the end of round one. So to begin, round two, you know, to I can stitch our gym stage and next we would do our first single for shape for the next round, which we are going to do this speech. That chance. Do you know? I mean, I mean in the same speech that we are doing right now. So this lost the first stage front one. They would again do the first stage of round two above the same stitch you have increased for all 60. Just so I have stop stitches in my road to and you can see here the system James for around two. So we're going to slip such in the first Singapore shake off. I was thinking around. So we do this for every room to end the round. You wouldn't need to slip stitch in the first some Christian and then to begin the next round again dio and proceed to do the next round. I had it four rounds with the join. Well, miss it, you can see. Oh, you see it kind of leather here of the rounds and the first pitch of travel. I've used gray yarn to show you how it looks like 4. Continuous Round Method: e using continuous round, which is basically just you don't do anything. Especially this single throw shade. Um, the beginning off all rose the same way as how you just Chris say normally, I guess if you're using a gray stitch to show this is my first ege off my brown Oh, for shame a few more rounds to show you how the first stitch off pitro looks like in a continuous about method. As you just hear, ready for shaping for Rose, you will see that the first round it doesn't. It's not a straight line. Instead, it's lends towards, right. So this is it doesn't actually, um, make any difference if you are just making a shape with one color. However, if you would like to make a pot we call changes of southern shape, then it would be better to do that with the joint run with it, because if you use a continuous wrong with it, the alignment of the columns would be slanted and you do not want them 5. Joined vs Continuous Round Method: If you see here, this is the continuous round it. You see it's obits lending. But if you see the joy around with its more straight, you cannot see much difference in my example, because it's quite a small piece. But if you're doing a bigger piece, then the difference would be very obvious. An example. This system, for example. I mean me that I'm doing right now. I'm using the join, Roman said. This is the letter of the joint around with it. I would usually just put them at the back of their with me so that it's not that obvious. And then this is the college. Instead, I've did, and you can see I could achieve a more normal shape. Look, with this method on, yeah, it looks nicer to use the joy around method if you're doing a lot off color changing in your a piece. So against that, if you're using the continuous round, it would look more, uh, blanket. So remember drying out with it? College ing is better. It's more straight U S route. Not that good. It's more slanted 6. Right & Wrong Side: and this will be explaining the right and wrong side of you Appreciate work. So right side is the site that is facing when you're doing it for cheaper, usually in the projects that I've done. Of course, the rights that would be the outside. But I've also see after the Raiders state prefer to use the site s t outside. Ignore this. This is just my color change from site outside. I mean, it's I feel that it doesn't make any difference if you're using the right or wrong side outside just personal preference. But yeah, I don't think that's a big problem. If you're one to the wrong side, to be outside the right side. To be outside is his defense of you. But course you see the Princeton texture, and for me, I feel it's easier for me to use the right side of the outside because of this. If you're changing color, is it ready, Missy. Out here, it's more clean here. Everything. That's the difference between right side 7. Invisible Decrease Technique: who normally crease first fall a normal, please. You know what? Kiss go true First single appreciate and full Find out Ankle cute Second next, cushy and pulling an out and pull. Maybe I'm through all treatments and this gives you the normal trees. I do not like this technique because it gives holes appearance in my project, So I'll be finishing this So it's more normally 37 and stuff it with some, uh, fiber to show you tackle. Appearance will look like right here is the end product. I've closed the whole, as you can see. Still, it's very obvious right now you're swollen and you can see inside which you do not want in your guru me because it doesn't look that nice. I would think so. A better solution for this is to use the invisible decrease method which I will show you next. So I would like to get please this tubes. So first thing I do is I culture front off the next single Christian stitch. And then without pulling any on and I go true the second single crush a front Look also and then I pull me. We are in show too off the loops. And then again, yeah, and this is my invisible please pitch. So I've used the invisible decrease method for this ball, and for this one I produced a normal decrease method. As you can see, big difference. The bottom line. You can see holes and the library spooking. True, so it's not very nice in the invisible meant that you can see it's more close up. So, yeah, this is how you do it out. Invisible, typically, stitch. I would recommend you to use this decrease method for all your project so that there's no holes in your project that you don't want because you can see here to fight room. It just shows felt which is not right Nice. 8. Ultimate Finish (To close your piece): As you can see here I have my last round with six stitches in my golden shape. I would show you how I don't just pull out last. It's stream the last. That's touch. I use a normal and vitally needed and then just go true from you. Start, I will give you. So go out on the first. Appreciate off your last round again to the 2nd 1 one in outs for it out and continue with this. A victory for all stitches off the room and then finally treated last one. And I need this pull and its coast. If you don't like this always here, it's small fold. It's not really that obvious, but he likes better close on the whole, you can sue it where, however, you want just to make sure you don't see the middle or the stuffing insight. So what I would do? I was just so in the opposite to strengthen me. So it's close, and then finally just go true the bountiful and go out to wherever just this some pool, distant, tightly else. This wouldn't vent. And so yeah, just loosely pull it cut president so that the street would go in. Oh, this is finished close 9. Sewing Pins tips for Amigurumi: So I really, really recommend any dummy gumi and two Zs out there to buy this place you can buy which everything's that holds your I'm going Well, it's just an old tin doesn't have to be fancy and that this is just a whole your pieces together before you sew it in just so that I can see how it will look like before you proceed to suing. So I think this is very important for you to have. I have one of my own going on gloomy project right here. As can see, I'm just going to show you how I usually use the Bobby pins to secure the parts together. Have to be fancy. That's no correct technique on how you think this is pin however you like. But of course I would usually I, um, more than two pins for one point, because if you just use one, of course it was your bulls around, So yeah, always use two or more kids. It's secure before you sell it three parts, just to show you how you use Yeah, I just only in this together, it's very long. So let me we have dispensed to show us how you would like to sew it in place so I can actually change this before I actually make a permanent change too. This one here. 10. Final thoughts: So that is it for this video. Just give a like, if you find this info helpful and also leave a comment and tell me what type that you would like me to show next helped.
