1. INTRODUCTION: huh? I'm Sterling. I've been taking a deep dive into the geekier side of developing a social media strategy at the micro influence Our stage. I would like to share this strategy that I put together with you because I want you to be successful, too. We can all come together and be happy. The Internet is an amazing invention for those of us that have stories to share. I've created this video. Siri's to exactly that. It's an amazing opportunity for all of us to build a platform. And I have figured out and have great success system izing my strategy and using the same steps every day. So I would like to share that with you, plus some screenshots and some screen capture so you can see what exactly I'm doing. I am going to give you the rundown of my posting strategy. What I do every day, every time I post I've created a checklist for exactly how to do this, so make sure you check that out, and also I'll be sharing a video about how to optimize your account so that you can do all of these things quickly and you can begin to automate the easier stuff and your account will be more searchable, more relevant. It'll show up for people. And I'm also creating a video for you on my hashtag research strategy which honestly has being the game changer for me. I went from 1000 followers when I wasn't really trying to do anything with my social media , then deciding Hey, I want to build this. I wanna have a platform where I can share with people and grew to 3600 month using these strategies. And I've made some really amazing connections with awesome people and found other content that I find really inspiring. So be sure to check out the HASHTAG Research Strategy video. 2. BE CONSISTENT: be consistent. None of us know exactly what the instagram algorithm is doing. They're looking for what's working for me right now. In this moment is consistency. Preach? It shouted from the hilltops theme. Consistent! Choose a time every day or every other day or every second day that you post design what that's gonna be me, I post every day I post every day at 9 a.m. And I figured that out through guessing and checking what works for me, for my audience and for my lifestyle. So be a realistic with yourself. You tell yourself you're gonna post every day at 6 a.m. And again at 6 p.m. But you don't actually week up until noon, and you work until 8 p.m. That's no realistic. Be honest with yourself and also figure out what your audience really wants, because maybe your audience isn't up at 7 a.m. To see that morning, Jim post that you're wanting to share with them. Be honest with yourself. Be consistent. Determine what works for you, your lifestyle, the platform you're attempting to create, and the audience that your building I just guess and check method. But there are some APS that you can use. You plug in your social media information, and it tells you what the best time for you is. Being consistent means your audience knows where to find your toast when, like, they can look forward to it like a predetermined schedule. And also, Instagram recognizes that you're being riel. You're seven of your game, and they're gonna push your stuff further. 3. BATCH & OPTIMIZE: pre create and bashed. Schedule your content so you're not having to come up with that every time you post through it all at once a week in advance, a month in advance. Then it's gonna be a lot easier for you because it's systemized. I also happily account, optimize and set up so that in the place where I'm creating the Post, I have already linked all of my relevant accounts on other platforms so I can automatically share to those accounts these air slider tabs. So you just tap him automatically. You need to set that up in the optimization of your instagram account to make all these things easier. I could make a video about how I do that. If you'd like, Let me know down in the comments. 4. HIGH QUALITY POSTS: your posts have to be high quality. You can use all the calculated strategy in the world, and if your post sucks, it's not gonna go anywhere. So make sure your poster high quality, not only high quality but high value. Also, no one wants to look pictures that don't mean anything to them, but I don't even mean anything to the person posting them. And there's a difference between building a platform and a business on instagram and using it to socialize or keep up with your family. So you also need to determine which of those things you're doing with your account. And maybe you have two different accounts. I don't use social media for social means at all. I just use it to share my stories with the world. That was the differentiation that I needed to make to stay psychologically and emotionally healthy. 5. PHOTO EDITING & STYLIZATION: I predetermined the photo that I'm gonna use so that it's stylized with my feet so that it all kind of fits together, and I edit my photo before I put it up. Even if it comes from a photographer who has already done some editing, I ended it in my iPhone as demonstrated, and I bring up the levels, I adjust the lighting. I don't really use filters or adjusted Photoshopped face tune style, but I always do brightness, contrast saturation to get a similar feel and to make the edges a little more crisp and to make it were interesting to look at. That's how I stylized my feet. I also only use the Clarendon filter on instagram itself because I want everything to look similar enough. I'm not using 10 different filters. That's confusing. I highly recommend you only use one or two filters and one or two APS to edit your photos, and they should be the same ones every time because that's naturally going to build a stylization to your feet. 6. RESEARCH HASHTAGS: this video specifically is about my hashtag research strategy and how I've used them to get mega feedback and a really amazing audience engagement on my posts. So things you need to understand, you should know what kind of content you're producing on a regular basis. If you don't understand that, what your goal is who you are, what, your representing, what your mission is, then this might be a little advanced for you. You need to figure those things out first. But if you know what kind of content you're creating and you're ready to figure out how to help the people that are looking for your kind of content, find it. This strategy is real. Hashtag research is something that needs to be done relatively regularly because new posts are being added all the time. And sometimes Hashtags Air Co. Opted by something that's not actually the message that you're trying to perpetuate. So it changes. The size changes, the uses changes. You should do your hashtag research again relatively regularly. I'd whenever a few weeks, at least once a month, especially if I'm starting to do a new type of content or if I'm going in deep on something . So let's Kiki. This is easiest to do on a desktop or laptop computer, but I've done some screen capturing for you to show how to do it on a phone as well. I set aside a few hours to do this specifically, and I end up opening over 100 tabs and going in super super deep. But let's look at it from a simpler vantage point while I'm describing it to you now. 7. HOW TO CHOOSE HASHTAGS: This is how you choose your hashtag X. Find the post, not one of yours, but a post that's done very well. That's the type of content that you are creating, or the type of content that you're emulating and would like to create. Open that post, find their hashtags if they're hashtag, strategy is on point. You should see multiple hashtags under that post that are relevant to the type of content that you are or would like to be creating. Open each of these hashtag. So this is why it's easier to do it on a desktop. You can, you know, control town open into a new, but you can also open them one by one on your phone. It's just not straightforward, and you're not gonna get us. Continue this process until you have many hashtag to choose from. I have maybe 10 separate notes in my notes up that are type of content specific. So I have all my travel hashtags, which are specified by niche to the woman traveling alone side of the travel spectrum. Because that's what I do. I have my dance hash tags. In a separate thing, I have my music hashtag in a separate thing, I have my redhead Hashtags in a separate thing because there's a whole niche on Instagram all about redheads, and I know every time I post that I'm going to use a different mixture of these, depending on the content and what audience members I want to be able to access. 8. FOLLOW THE HASHTAGS: So you have these hashtags open these things that are potentially relevant to your niche. There's a really great thing that's a relatively new to instagram. You can follow these hashtags, so if this hash tag is truly relevant to what you're creating, you should follow the HASHTAG because then it's going to show up in your feet, and you're gonna be able to follow people in your Nishi that you would like to emulate. That you can connect with that. You can build brand awareness around that. You can get involved within the community, and you can also find other people that are engaging with that type of content highly recommendable. Do this for any size. Hashtag that's relevant to you that you are connecting with for your content. 9. HASHTAG RESEARCH PRO TIPS: pro tips use hashtag that mean what it is you're trying to communicate but in different languages. Multilingual hashtags. So I have 12 hashtag that I use sometimes that are different ways of saying redhead in other languages. Also use localized hashtag X. If you're doing a Murray themed shoot on the beach in Malibu, check out the Malibu photo shoot. Hashtag check out the Malibu Beach Hashtags because the local people local businesses, confined you. Maybe there was a following for that area. You never know. Figure out if your content is specialized or fetishized in a certain way, like the redhead thing. There's a lot of people that are interested in my content specifically because I'm a redhead and I didn't think that that would be the way it is, but I'm able to capitalize on that. 10. HASHTAG SIZE: that being said, the hashtags that are specific to what you're creating that you should use are not the super huge, overblown Hashtags hashtag blessed hashtag love hashtag travel blogger There's millions of posts using these hashtags, which means you're not gonna make it in the top nine post unless you're getting that level of engagement, which, if you're watching this video, you probably aren't. Let's be honest also, because so many people are using those giant hashtag. You're only going to stay in the top most recent posts for a few seconds if that some, like hashtag love people, are posting every second on the hashtag, which means that you're not able to utilize the real estate of that hashtag to be found by other potential audience members and followers. And if you're not doing that thing away, why are you using Instagram 11. WHY CERTAIN SIZE HASTAGS?: So that's the point of having a strategy is instagram is a social media platform, but it's also a search engine, which means that you need to be utilizing each of these hashtags cause you're only allowed a certain amount for every post. And this is how people search on instagram. This is how will find you. You need to be actively utilizing these. So in your posts in thes hashtag that you're actually gonna be using that we're researching right now, you should only be copying to utilize hashtags with between 2000 and 200 to 300,000 posts because those air the size in which your content can get noticed and engaged with. And I would say you should run the whole spectrum. Also, you should be using five or six hash times that have 2 to 3000 posts, and you should be using five or six hash tags that have between 203 100,000 posts. And you should be using both ends of that size spectrum in the same post 12. HASHTAG FORMAT: In case you didn't know On every post you publish, you can use up to 30 hashtags. But I would highly recommend not using 30 every time and not ever using the same hash tags for every Post, which is why we're doing our research now. So when you find these hashtags that are the right size that are relevant that you do want to utilize in your posts what I didn't is I copied these to my notes and on my phone, and I group them relative to size and context topic with each other in groups of 2 to 6. So then, when I'm posting my new post, I've already done the in depth research I know which has tags I'm using under what size they are. Have them in my notes up, and I could just copy them and paste them into the comments under my instagram post in the 1st 10 minutes that it's live also so that it doesn't look spammy. I do a little emoji dot, dot, dot emoji, then the hashtags in every comment, and I have that pre formatted in the notes happen as well, so I could just copy and paste it 13. HASHTAG USE PRO TIPS: pro tips engaged with other accounts that are using the same or similar hashtag says you. This is why it's important to follow those hashtags, and this is how you're gonna build community and relevance in your niche never gets exactly the same set of hashtags that's gonna looks family. And it might even be picked up by the Instagram algorithm as a level of automation that you don't want to be associated with. Use Hashtags in your story EUSTACHE TAX In your story. Use Hashtags in your story. Do your deep type ash tag research at least monthly because they change? Most importantly, you need to understand that instagram, just like YouTube, is a search engine. And if you want to build an audience on the platform, their content needs to be searchable. New members need to be able to find your stuff. 14. KEYS TO CAPTIONS AND CALLS TO ACTION: next, I put the post up with the caption, and the caption includes credits of anyone else that's been involved in the photo creation or is relevant to the Post as well as a call to action. So I'm asking a question or giving my audience something specific to respond to. That's a CT, a call to action. So they read the caption. If they read the caption, hopefully they read the caption and they have something to do. I'm asking them to do something which boosts engagement in the comments section. And that, my friends, is another way that Instagram knows your ships good and pushes it further, potentially to the Explorer page to people that haven't seen your content yet. 15. @ TAGS AS TRIBE BUILDING & Brand Outreach: I also tag all the relevant accounts. I'm wearing a top by a designer attack them. A tag photographer, I tagged the art director or someone who styled me or someone who told me something funny that inspired the shoot itself. Because I want everyone who's involved to know about the Post to be properly credited. And also it makes back link connections between my accounts and their accounts and draws their attention to my post. This is also a really great place to do brand outreach, any brands I specifically want to work with. I will start tagging in relevant posts so that they're already getting value for me before I've pitched them or asked him for anything in return, because I will never work with brands that I find valuable that I'm interested in sharing and building together with 16. POSTING STRATEGY: I always posted the same time. Every morning I predetermined the photo that I'm gonna use so that it's stylized with my feet that it all kind of fits together. And I edit my photo before I put it up, because those 1st 10 minutes seems to be this golden window. Just like the first hour is a golden window. And if you get a lot of high value real engagement and activity on her post in this 1st 10 minutes and in this first hour, that's how you make it to the explore page. If you have any other accounts that you run, you'll also have the option to post to multiple accounts. And I don't typically do that. So remember all of this is happening in the 1st 10 minutes that I've posted my new post immediately when I have shared my new post. I will obviously like my own post. I'm worried about that school or not. I want to have an immediate like on that pose. Good. Otherwise they wouldn't post it. Obviously, I like it. I'm gonna click that heart. Then I long into the other accounts that I operate, and I also immediately like and comment on the new post because this is giving Instagram the cue that my post is good enough to get immediate interaction, which is gonna help push it further. Next step. Next. I employed my hashtag strategy. I don't put Hashtags in the captions. I put them in the comments formatted properly, like I will describe in the hashtag strategy video pre researched Hashtags Never 30 because I don't want Instagram to think I'm spamming and not the same ones, every post different ones specific to the post relevant to the audience. Next, I make sure I'm locked back into the original account. Sometimes if you get confused and you stay locked into other after, I've done all of these things. Final step Most important step the thing that really is going to put your account over the top to give you massive growth new followers every day and also build an audience that's really interacted with your post wow mining post is still immediately live. I go to the previous post yesterday's post because I post every day and I respond High value 45 words Complete sentences Direct response to every single comment on my previous post because I'm engaging with my audience, my followers and building community. We're having a real conversation. They're going to feel that I noticed them and that I'm interested in them interacting with me on Instagram, and the algorithm is going to see that also. But most importantly, I am going to show up as a notification directly talking to each of those people in their feed. Wow, my new most recent post, isn't it? It's golden window of recent publishing, and if they follow that notification or end up back on my page at all, they'll see that I have a new post up. 17. BUILD YOUR TRIBE: final step. Most important step. The thing that really is going to put your account over the top to give you massive growth new followers every day and also build an audience that's really interacted with your post so that your account is really you know, you're not just being followed by a bunch of bots or people that don't remember why they followed you. Global block. I go to the previous post. Yesterday's post and well mining post is still immediately live. I go to the previous post yesterday's post because I post every day and I respond high value 45 words. Complete sentences direct response to every single comment on my previous post because I'm engaging with my audience, my followers on building community. We're having a real conversation. They're going to feel that I noticed them and that I'm interested in them interacting with me on Instagram, and the algorithm is going to see that also. But most importantly, I am going to show up as a notification directly talking to each of those people in their feed. Wow, My new most recent post is in its golden window of recent publishing, and if they follow that notification or end up back on my page of all the Z that I have a new post up and this likes, begets, likes, begins, likes comments, begins comments, begins comments. So honestly, I think this is like besides being consistent on having high quality content, the most important thing to Dio, because the reality is that social media is called social because we are socializing in interacting with each other, and if you actually want to build a high value audience and following this is where it happens. 18. SHARE YOUR STORY: I turned my new post into a story, explaining that it's a new post tagging any other relevant accounts in it so that anyone who was watching the stories, but I'm not necessarily showing up in their feed, they'll find my stuff that way. Back leading Instagram has reported that the most engagement right now is coming through stories. So I want to utilize that real estate, and you should, too, because the more stories you put out, the more relevant your stories are showing up in your audience. Your follower, your friends, speeds. It's, ah, it's a beautiful cycle of perpetual motion that you should feed into.
