1. Intro to audacity project: hi and welcome. So in this tutorial that has edit on audio and I'm going to do a small product, I'm going to record an audio, and then we're going to edit it. So in the end will have finished audio that you can use. So this is a project. So I will expect you to follow along with me. Open up audacity recorded on audio and editores at the same time I was editing mine. So follow along with me. That's very important. And in the end, you're going to have finished walking product. You'll have unexploited audio that you can use for your purposes. So you're going to see step by step. Or you can edit todo using audacity. So I just record a sample audio and then I will edit that. And that's what we're going to use throughout this section. So I will see you in the next video when I start recording the audio and then we edited step by step. See you in the next video 2. Record Audio For Audacity Project: Okay, so welcome to another video. And in this video, let's record the audio so you can choose the microphone that you want to use right here. Choose the microphone that you want to use to record your audio. And so here we go to record an audio. Just click here on the record icon. What city is a free audio editing The necessities of free audio editing software that you can use to edit your audio. You can download it from the audacity website and use it for all your audio editing tasks. So that is our audio, and we're going to start editing it. The first thing I can do is I can actually normalized this, but I'm not going to do that now. That's the last thing I will do. To normalize it is just to increase their increase, the amplitude, and if they normalize it, you can see that happens now. This is something I will do later because I don't 20 toe affect the sound off my recording right now. So this is the last step I will do before I export my audio. And to export the audio. You can just do it by coming here under file and then you can export it as a win fire or as MP three. But I do recommend as a wave fire. So let me do controls it and that's going to undo the normalisation. So I will see in the next video when we continue from here. 3. Audacity Tutorial Project: This is where we stopped in the last video. There's a mistake I made somewhere here, and I can start very moving that. So let me play the audio. What city is a free audio editing? It s cities are free. Or so I can just remove this. Your selected You can use the edit elementary teacher here. And you see you have the shortcuts. Just look at your audacity. Whether you're using it only knocks or Mark. Make sure you know which which shortcuts keyboard shortcuts you can use because keyboard shortcuts will help you save a lot of time so I can do control X. If you want to cut it and compete at the same time, you can do cut. If you want to delete it, you can delete and for me onto the little do control. Okay. And when you delete, you can see the time space for that he's gone. Let's just see if there's another place where I'm going to need to edit it. The necessities of free audio editing software that you can use to edit your audio. You can download it from the audacity website and use it for all your audio editing tasks. So that last bit a swell. I can remove that. Yes, Selected control K. So just not that when it is like this, it means that it selected. So if you want to select the entire audio, just click here, okay? And that's going to select the entire audio right now. Let's say that I'm speaking to slowly and therefore I want to increase. I want to increase the temple of this audio, and that's going to increase the temple without increasing the pitch so I can increase the speed at which I'm speaking without affecting the pitch. So I just select the audio once again, and then I'll do effect and appear. I can choose Change temple, and here you can change. You can do percentages to know how much you want to change it with. And for me, I'm going to do about 8% and that's going to reduce Reduce the length from this to this. Right now it's just about 12 seconds, and it's going to get traduced down to 11 90. So if you want to reduce it, Father, you can do that here. But sometimes it's just best to do something that is reasonable so that you don't affect how you speak and you don't want to be speaking too fast. So I do 8%. And when I do that, you concede doesn't reduced their overall length off my audio. Now, depending on where you are and how your audio is, you can do noise reduction to reduce any noise in the background. So to do know his reduction, you're going to select an empty space of your audio. And then I will come to note reduction, and then I will get the nice profile. That's very important. You have to select the nice profile and then let me go back into noise reduction and you can increase. You can increase the nurse reduction level, the decibels for which you want to reduce the noise so for may actually prefer. And I usually get the best results when I reduce the audio in small pieces, so in small quantities. So if you have, if you are recording audio in a very noisy place, you should probably increase that. But if you are in a place that is not too noisy, you can just live it somewhere around there, or even a three. And then you can also play around with this just to see the best quality. Okay, you can do a preview to hear what you should expect. Okay? The necessities of free audio editing software that you can use to edit you so you can use this. You contain the settings just to hear how the new audio is going to sound like. Okay, so the residue, the reduce is going to be the audience a tremendous, and then you can listen to the residue as well. The residue is basically the noise that you're removing. So if you're recording audio in a loud environment, you should play around with this to find the best, or you can just leave them in the same settings minor. And then I just click. OK, I made a mistake there under noise reduction. Let's go back to noise reduction and put reduce, OK, we don't want to export. We don't want to export the noise. If you want to export the noise, you can select there. But you want to reduce the sound and have our original recorded or do okay, so you can do that again, depending on how loud the noise is so it's normally advisable for May. I actually find it. The best results come out. I do. They know it's reduction after doing the normalization after you do normalization, Okay, but I'm not going to normalize the audio just yet. You can also change various things here. Let's see. What's it called Equalization? Maybe you want to increase the best in your sound you have here. Best boost. So before I talk about this, you need to find out the audacity of Russian that you're using because this change, I think these are very different. There's a different version and it doesn't work. It doesn't work. This him is this. But the interface for this somewhat changed, and I haven't updated my audacity, but you'll see that it's different, but you can still find your way around it. OK, it's not anything that's going to be too difficult. Yes, no, You can reduce this to increase the best or reduce the best you can prevail the sound of the cities of free audio editing software that okay, you can also reduce various. If you know your way around sound webs, you can reduce them the necessities of free audio editing software. Okay, so that's something you can do there. Lots of effects that you can you can use here if you want to. If you want the order to fade in, you can add the fed in effect and fade out effect. Just feel free to play around with all this, but I don't really need any of them for this. I think I have done what any to do here. And at this point, I can actually normalize the audio. So I'm going to do effect, and then I'm going to normalize it. And normalization will increase the disciples of my sound. And if you want to normalize it, don't go too high. You probably want to be somewhere below zero. So for me, actually find the perfect spot for me is negative. Three. But you can do negative to you can do negative one. You can even do negative six. If you don't want your audio to be too loud for May, I will do negative three and I will say OK, now the overall volume off my audio has been increased the necessities of free audio editing software. All right, so once you do that you can actually hear they some noise in the background and then I would get the noise profile, and I can just repeat knows reduction, and that's going to reduce the noise. So if you can still hear some noise this select that if you can hear noise, select that, and then you can reduce this father, get the nice profile, and then do the noise reduction. Right, That should do enough for our audio quality. So if you want to do anything else, feel free to check out all the things that you have here and just try them and see what you want to do. You can even traverse the audio if you're playing around with certain sections, all right, But for us, this is pretty much what you need to do in this editing. And once I export the audio, I'm also going to show you how you can do auto docking. So what did the King is whereby you can have background music for your audio, So if you want institution whereby they some background music for your audio when you're speaking, you on the sound of the music to be lower, that's what Or to ducking is and I'm going to show you how to do that with some music. Let me see if it can find some free music and then I'm going to use that to show you how to do or to ducking. So at this point, if you don't to do or to ducking, I believe this is pretty much everything I would need to do to edit my audio. I don't have to change anything else. I just come here and a fire and then I will export. And you can export its away fire or as MP three. And if you want to exporters in Petri forcible, you need to install the limb critics. That is L A M E. It is a very easy process. Just go to Google and such for install lame products and you can install limb for audacity . Let's go with that still lame for audacity. And once you do that, you can export us MP three and you can see I already have the limb installed and I can choose the quality off my audio. This is very, very important. You definitely want through 20 kilobytes a second. This is what you want you don't go any lower than this. Just choose this. You can give it a name and you can export it. But I don't to import it as MP three, I will come back and I will choose export as a live fire. Okay, let me just call this or Death City project and with audacity projects you can choose whatever you want to put it. And then I will click on Save. And normally it brings out some settings that you need to choose for me. I chose default settings and said I should never be asked those settings again. But for you, you're probably going to get those settings. You're going to get prompted to choose settings. And it will ask you the name of the audio, the creator of the audio and things like that, and just put in those details. It's something very self explanatory. And then once you do that, you're going to select export the audio and the order will be exported. As of now, my audio is now exported, and if that's all you need to do, that's a very quick and easy way for you to edit your audio in audacity and you will have improved the quality. And basically what you've done is we have reduced the noise. That's usually the most important. We've also increased the temple. So if you're speaking very slow, you can increase the speed of the entire sound. Okay. And if you have other audios that you want to add here, you can do that as well. You can just import in another audio and joined them with this audio. So that's pretty much it for this video. I will see you in the next one. When we do our toe ducking, I will see you been. 4. Auto Ducking In Audacity: hi and welcome Buck in this video, Let's see how you can go duck in audacity or two. Ducking is basically adding background music, and you want the music's like that when you're speaking, the music goes lower, but when you're not speaking, the medic goes up. If you're doing any marketing videos or any important videos, just do away with the music. Let people hear your voice. You don't need the music. Okay? Yes, have confidence in your voice. It doesn't matter who likes or doesn't like it. You just do your own voice. You don't need background music when you're doing any kind of tutorial. So you're doing any marketing videos for your product. You don't need the background music, but if you need it, this is how you're going to do it. And in audacity, you can use something called or two ducking to do the auto duck feature whereby when you start speaking, that music goes down and you can do this with any kind of music. So the music that needs to be or to duct that need to be otra duct will be put at the top. So let me import some music here and to import music. I'm on windows. It's very easy. You can just drug in music into audacity and it's going to get put here at the bottom. You can see it very long Music in my my order is no defend 30 seconds long What I can do First of all, I'm going to have to cut out the unnecessary bits of my music. Just select And then I will do control K to delete. And now we have our music here and something else. Of course, the music is pretty tiny, so let me just zoom in zoom until we get to some reasonable music or the waves. So for me to do what a ducking I'm gonna need to bring this up to the music that you want to order a duck. Put that at the top and your voice put that at the bottom. So just remember that if you enter mute any audio, you cannot lose mutant audio. The necessities of free audio editing soft and that's going to mute the one at the top. If you're into mute, the one at the bottom. Okay, so what I want to do is I want to use this to order a duck for this. So let us do the auto ducking. First of all, select that. Remember the music that you want in the background, put it at the top and then selected, Then come up here and, uh, choose auto duck. So if you into or to duck, this is the amount of photo ducking that's going to happen. How low do you want the music to go when it goes down? So let's just just take it down to 2 20 db And if you look at my audio, my odious pretty, pretty short, it's 12 seconds here. Okay, This one of the bottom is 11 seconds and some milliseconds, so I don't have any point whereby the maximum pose off my audio is one second. And let me just do it with this default setting. Then you're going to see what happens. You can preview it here to hear how low their music is going to go, okay? And you can see that in certain sections. It's not even going down because I have put the default setting is like that. If I make a pose for like one second, then the musical toe. That's let me show you what I mean. Let me click, OK? And you can see now I don't have any place whereby I have taken a post for more than a second. That's less than a second. So you can change a setting in your two ducking, and we're going to see how to do that in a moment. But first of all, let's just played to see what we have. The necessities of free audio editing software that you can use to edit your audio. You can tell that the music it's pretty pretty loud and you can even go lower. And if you want to reduce the music, any father, the quickest way you can do it is just elected music on. Then you see this element here, you can just select that and this will allow you to reduce. Yeah, Would you with this Okay, you can reduce it. And when you do that ethnicities, a free audio editing software and you can see the music has gone down. So let me just didn't do all that. Let me select this. This is the one that you use to select elements. And this is one which you can use to move your audio. If you want to join this ordeal with owner the top, you select this and then you join it to the one of the top and I should you in some video. So to do that No, let's just select this one and they do, Control said. Let me just reduce this the amplitude of this, okay, and let's do the auto ducking thing again. What a duck to here. Let's say I wanted to. I want to reduce the seconds for which, when I take opposed the auto docking takes effect Yes, to show you how or two ducking walks. So for this, let's say 0.3 seconds. So if I take a break for 0.3 seconds, the music is going to go up. These are other lengths that you can. You can add it. So this we've said duck amount. This is how low you on the music to go. If you wanted to go even lower, you can reduce. If you wanted to just reduce the music a little bit, you can do that. But let me leave it there at around 20. That's okay. And then out of fed. So this is fit down length. You know, music fades down. How long do you want it to fit down? Let me put this back to 0.3. My music is pretty shot. So this I can also do this at 0.3. So all the servants, as the name suggests this a bit time it takes for the music to fade out. Okay, so fit out. Fida plant. How long do you on the music to fit up all this? OK, you can just play around with this numbers to see what they will do for your specific audio . So for May let me do ok. And you can see now when I reduced the amount of time that requires the fitting to happen, it's going to take effect here as well. So let's just play in here. What? You have the necessities of free audio editing software that you can use to edit your audio . You can download it from the inner city website and use it for all your audio editing tasks . Okay, so that's pretty much it how to do or to ducking this play around with the settings if you want to add fade out effect yah! Select the area where you want to do the fed out. So let's say the fed out will start from somewhere there and let me go and do fit out website and use it for all your audio editing tasks. You can even do the fit out manually right here if you select this and you Yes, select that. So there you can. You can fit out to manually right here. See that that's just going to fade out. Music for us. USC's. It's just that it ends abruptly. But if I had more music here, it would be much better for the fit out. All right, so that's pretty much how you can do. There are two ducking in audacity, but as I said, you don't really need a tow ducking. Just do your own voice and get comfortable with your own voice. When you do your recording, it doesn't really matter. Like so. It doesn't like it. Avoid any music in your ordeal. When you record your videos, you don't have to put order in the book unless you're doing a movie or it's acting or something like that. Maybe In that case, you can do the audio four dramatic effects, but other than that, you don't need the audio. You play around with all these or to duck settings, although to ducking settings here. Play around with them to see what effect they're going to bring to your music. Okay, you can increase any settings any time that you you need to increase. Hear this all the or two ducking times the fed in the fed outs that I mean the fed down when the music good goes down, the fit up when the music goes up on, then the amount off to ducking. How load you on the music to go? You can change the threshold. This is a maximum for which it will go, and you contain this as well. So that's pretty much how to do it to ducking. And once you do your auto docking, you can export your audio once again. All right, so that's it for this video. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. I will see you next time 5. Create An Audiobook In Audacity : hi and welcome in this video. Let's see how you can use audacity to record your audiobook. So if you have an idea that you want to share with people or you have a story that you want to tell, inform of on audiobook you can use the audacity to do that. And the beautiful thing about the density is that it's a free software. So whether you own a Windows computer mark or Lennox, you can use it for free to record your audio podcast or audiobook. Anything enter recorded audio. You can use your Citi for free. Open it up and then you can continue on with me once you open audacity. So let's just look at what we have here. And the first thing that you can see is this button. This is the one you're going to use to record. Once you press this, it would record as long as your microphone his own. And once you start recording, you compose there, according, and once you click the pose again, it will continue recording and you can stop the recording. This is going to stop recording, and once you're done recording, you can play back the recording and listen to what you've just recorded. So first thing, you must have a microphone to ensure that your audio is being captured by audacity. You can check the microphone that you're using here, so select the correct microphone here, make sure that you have you have your microphone connected on your PC, and once you do that, you can just come in here and then you can select the correct microphone that you want to use. And the same is also true for the headphone that you want to use. If you want to listen to your audio that you've just recorded, you're going to need some output device. Just come in here on this side and you can select. You can select the correct output device that you want to use. So for me, I'm going to live this because this is my default device and this is a microphone that I want to use for according So In that case, let's just do a simple recording to see what you can do here. If a present a red butter, you can see that now my audio is being recorded. This is audio being recorded as I speak. If you had to pose a recording, you can just press there and you'll see that the recording is post. And if you want to continue recording yeah, just press there and you can continue recording on the same line. Maybe somebody knocks on your door. You can pose the recording, see what they want and then continue recording. And when you're done recording, you can just stop the recording. Evin, you can listen, Buck. If you select here, you'll select the entire audio. And if you've watched my audacity if you're disorder City tutorial, you saw how to edit the various sections. You can just select something and and then you can edit it appropriately. You can delete some sections. If something is is not the way that you want it, you can delete it and so on and so forth. Okay, If you're doing your recording like this on audacity, you're going to need to save it so that if you're done recording and you don't feel like editing the OD Reiter where you can edit it later on, and if you want to save, you can press control s so you can just come in here and you can save ah project. So this is just a warning that tells you that what you about to do is save a not export. So if you want to export the audio so that you can listen to it on your MP three player Ben , you're going to need to do export and not save. Saving only allows you to edit it, and you can only open it using audacity. So I will say OK, because I just want to save it and radio on audacity. I can create a file and let's just call this. Let's call days. What? Your book. So next time, if I want to If I want to open my file, I will go inside of that folder and open this. Let's call it audiobook sample. So if I want to open it, I can open it. Let's close or density and let's see how we can open. They project that we've just created and saved. Once you save your audacity, predict you can open it again. And I'm here on documents on my documents. Florida inside of the city folder. And this is a project that I saved. So if I opened this Hagen open this to edit and even continue according more audio. If want to record more audio or if I want to edit anything in there, I can just open this or do you book simple that a u p so you can continue. You can edit it if you want to edit it, any father or you can even continue equity more. Would you up here? So at the very end of this, you can just click record and you can continue recording more audio if you still have some more that you need to record and when you're done, you can just stop the audio and edit it as usual to concede that this is like two different audience. And if you want to connect it, I don't even delete that. Let me just select it and then I'll press delete on my keyboard with the lifted Russians over the city, you can just select outside. You can just select in the file, and then once you you present record is going to record from where this ended so you can start recording. So this is the second part of the recording, and this is like my Chapter two for for my audiobook and how is stop there. This is just to let you know that this is the second bit off this recording. If I select this, you'll see that I can move it. And if I want to connect this and this, you can. You can even select the entire thing, and then when you come here under it it and you come here under clear boundaries. You can join, OK, but the easiest way to join it. If you're on a Windows PC, you can select this selection tool and then just click on the bone every there and that's going to join the two. Let's say may be the first in your to do is you want to normalize into normalizes just to raise the sound volume. So if a reason to negative three, you consider pretty much louder than the way it was initially. At this point, you've recorded your audiobook. What you need to do is you need to export it and to export it. You just come here under fire exports, and if you're ready to publish it in to share it with people, you'll you'll definitely need to export as MP three because MP three is a much smaller file size than all these others. So if you exporters MP three and before you can export as MP three, if this is a new a new order city installation, you're going to need to install something called limb. So yes, such for limb or density installation, and then you're going to find a link on address on the city website. You can just click on it and is still the limb Codex for publicity. And that's what's going toe enable you to import and export your files as MP three. Without that, you won't be able to export as in poetry, and you'll also need to know about this presets. The most important thing here is equality to the quality here. Of course, if you want the best quality foreign patry always go with 3 20 kilobytes per second. This is a the best quality. This is the sound quality that you're not going to hear any reduction in their audio quality in general and then channel this. You can also leave it just like that, give the MP three name and save us type off course Here we want to choose MP three, all right, and before you can even do these days a window that is going to come up for me. I disabled it by choosing default settings, but there's a window that's going to come out for you that's going to ask you for the file name, title or how the file and tone. That's where you give the details for the audio. Make sure you on those details so that details such a one will act like signatures for your MP three. So if you're a creator, you put your name, you give the audio file. Um, if it is part of a chapter or an album, you give it on album and so much more, you're going to see it when you try to export. Okay? And let's say that this is my audio. I'm gonna go into my libraries, and I can just sit there as MP three, and once that is done now you can shade with people. So let's just talk a little bit about an audiobook, how you may want to creatures. Now maybe your order book your audiobook is one that has multiple chapter off short clips. Maybe one minutes two minutes, three minutes off clips. Okay, maybe Chapter one, Chapter two, Chapter three, Chapter four have also seen or two books. Audiobooks, whereby people just do alone, recording off the entire audiobook. And then that's what they give out. Maybe they spot one, which is one hour, and in Part two, which is another hour. And so in total there, would you Book will be like two hours. So it's entirely depends on how you want to record your Dubuque. This. Make sure that you are dear to this in number one. Use a good quality microphone. You want to make sure that the audio that you create is over good quality, so you don't have to use an expensive microphone. But at least find a microphone that has a good quality. And there's some good quality microphones that you can find is go to YouTube and search for reviews. That's how usually look for her microphone. You go to YouTube, and he'd look for reviews for microphones within the budget that you can afford. And when you make a mistake during your recording off the audiobook, just re record a section. Maybe there's a part that you made a mistake. Just record the entire part. Okay, Maybe you made a mistake within a paragraph. In a certain sentence, destroy and record inter paragraph again. And that will make your editing work much easier because you won't have to be joining sections. So also, again, make sure you choose whether you want to go with long audiobooks or short clips. Audio book. So that's entirely up to you. And depending on your audience. If you want to create a long ordeal book, that's up to you. If you want to create one, which is like three minutes three minutes, three minutes. That's but one and then part two. Maybe you have other short clips s entirely up to you so creatures the way that you want and just edit the audiobook in the way that I showed you. And in the end, you're going to have on audiobook that when people receive, it's going to be off good quality, and you can see you the same same prison principles to record your podcast. If you're recording a podcast in advance, then you can just eat this way. Okay, just go in front of audacity. Tell people your thoughts or whatever your podcast is about and share it as you wish. So that's it for this video. And I hope this will help you two creature audiobook. And if you have in question, feel very free to let me know. 6. Joining Audio Clips In Audacity : Hi. In this video, let's see how you can join different audio into one long clip. Assuming that these these are the different chapters off my audiobook, and I want to combine all of them into one so that I can just call it but one. So let's see how you can do that in audacity. So if I want to combine them, let me just delete this. Or you can just open up a new a new project. You can press control, and that's going to open this new window and you can start a new project. And if you in to save the changes that you made to your initial predict, make sure you do so fear to combine them. It's as easy as drugging them. Yes, drug this here where they send MP three, and before you work with MP three, make sure you install the lame collects limb corrects Just go to Google and Google limb. So let's say that the first bit that that I want to combine and I can add the other one so I can just drug it in there. Make sure you take notes off where this is. You can see this has gone down. So he found to bring it up and join it. With this one, I will into select this tool, and then I will come here and I will just drug it there. And if I select their, you can just select their and then I can join under edit. And if I go to clip boundaries, I can join it, and I will delete that and let me bring the 3rd 1 Let's assume this is now Chapter three of my audio book. The same thing again. I'll just so like this. And then I was a druggie top, and this time round I'll still go up, select the selection tool, and they're now, instead of going to join, I can just click here, just click, and that will join them. Then I will delete that again. And then I was odd What we are assuming it's Chapter four or off audiobook. Once it's imported into audacity who can just drug it up, Select that. Yeah, come back and choose selection tool, and I just click to join the two, and I will press X to delete that. And if you want to add more chapters then you know how to do it. And I'm not going to do that because it's becoming redundant now, since you know how to do it. And if you want to continue editing anything, you can still do that as well. These from spacing in between here that you don't want. You're going to move the spaces anything you don't want. Here you can just delete anything you don't want. Maybe there's some sounds here. You're listening to the audio and you hear there's something you don't want. You can just delete that. Maybe you want to move these from here and put it somewhere there. You can just do control X control. X will cope it control X and maybe onto at it here. So the selector and I can just do control V, and that's going to add it in between these two. Okay, so Control V is just testing, and that's on Windows and Lennox. If you're on a mark, just come in here and check what control V is. Control V is placed, so look at the keyboard shortcut for that. So that's pretty much how you can edit it and join the different chapters to make one long audiobook. If you aren't the only book to belong, that's pretty much it for this tutorial. If you have any question, favor free, feel very free to let me know. I will see you next time. 7. Audacity Audio Compressor: Hi and welcome to this video in this video. Let's see how you can. You can use the compressor in audacity. So you're going to see how you can work with this compressor. And I have the perfect audio that is going to show us how to work with compressor in audacity. So this is an audio for a tutorial that I did. And somewhere along the journey, somewhere around here, I might have kicked on something that affected the volume of my the volume of my recording . And so we're going to see how we can compress the audio so that this part and this part can at least much Okay, So just to show you the compressing audacity, if it just click here to select the entire audio, you can see the compressor. This is how the compass, eyes and amusing rush on. Amusing for sure. Which question of audacity is this? Amusing Russian 2.32 And this is not the latest version, but I hope the compressor. I hope the compressor hasn't changed, and it still looks like this. So we just follow along with me and you're going to see how you can compress your audio so that you can try to level it correctly. So the first thing, if you look at this compressor settings you're going to need, you're going to need a threshold. And the noise floor. We can live that and in the ratio. So this is the one that must rip, usually don't know. How can I get this threshold? So if you look at this, let me just choose the highest point off my audio here. The lowest point, actually of my audio is on this side, right? So if I want to find that point above, which I need to compress, may audio only to find it on this point on this side of my audio, where the audio is low. So what is compression? Compression is basically just train to lower the high gains of these parts, which are very high. We lead to lower them. That is what compression needs. And then once you compress the audio, you can amplify it, and they're going to do that as well. So here let me increase this so that I can see the wave somewhere around here. And if I try to play this, you can hear that it's very low. But I want to get that. I want to get the decibel level for this and for me to get the level I can check here. So we're going to see the highest point, which is brought for a CIA. So the highest point is going to help us know the highest level for our audio, and we're going to use that as a level for our compression. So I'm just listing once again and I'm going to keep my eye on this to see the highest level for my audio to see that the audio tape was increased its look at so I can see that the highest point for me is negative. 42 decibels and you can you can tell That's a very low audio. I'm going to have to come to the compression effect, go into compressor, and I have to learn this all the way down to about that value off. Let me just do it at 44 and at the same time, the noise level. I need to reduce this because I don't want it to affect their below levels of my off my audio. So let me reduce that, father. And then, as for compression, I can just leave it at 3.1. But you can always go to 2.1. So the higher you go, the more it gets compressed. So I'm just going to do something like to. So let me try and see what this is going to do for me. And you can preview. You can see that Haven't checked this. So you have this. Probably checked and checked that because you're going to do the game. We're going to make up for the game later or not now. So let me say okay and you see what's going to happen. Let's give it time to compress the audio so that you can see how this part and this part are going too much once the compression is done. So once the compression is complete, you can see that it has tried as much as possible. Just to make is to make the compression on the side and decide much. You can see that what does it is really tried. Okay, this party still pretty, but you can see. But what city has tried as much as it's gone to make sure that this part and this part almost equal. So the first thing I'm going to do again is I'm going to normalized this audio and to normal eight is basically just amplifying. So I'm going to amplify it using normalization, because I don't want to work with the city's amplification. Well, I can just do it as fast using normalize, so I will normalize a too negative three decibels and you're going to see how that is going to affect our ordeal. So once I normal, is it? So once I normalize it, you can see that the audio has been raised. Let's go all the side and they said, You can see it's been raised as well and they say it is still pretty high as compared is still pretty pretty loud as compared to the other part. So let's see the difference. And I went to drug in this audience head over density. So first open audacity on Let's listen to this other part. And when I opened audacity, I could just drug in my my audio inside here, and the first thing I want to do is I want to increase the tempo of the audio so At this point, I've just come to accept that my audio quality is going to be slightly lower, is going to base likely bad. And therefore, I'm just trying to salvage it as much as I can. So I'm going to try and do another another round of compression, and then I'm going to normalize it once again. So I'll select the entire would you? And then I'll come here and let me just first of all find out the highest. The level of the when I open or the city could just let me, first of all find out there, level off this side of the audio. And when I opened audacity, it could destroy and I could see that I can see that there be highest. Is that about 19? So I can just do that and come back into compression, and I want to try and much this in this so I can take it down. Let me just take it down, up to a boat. 25 right? Remember they said was 25 and we're gonna suggest increase that. Let me leave it at 55 on the ratio. I'll just leave it a 3.1, and I'll try to compress once again. And when it compress, this is what I get. Okay? And when I open audacity and you can even do another round of compression this to try to get them too much. But I'm just going to leave it at this point because I don't want to affect the audio quality too much because the more you compress it will just affect their with your quality even more. So. Let's just say that once we reach this point, the idea is going to go lower and I can come back, can normalize once again, and I will normalize it to negative three decibels. Now, if you look at this and you look at the original audio, you're going to see that base. There's definitely improvement in terms in terms off in terms off the audio consistency. Initially it was very low, and now at least it's It's not at the same level as this, but you can. You can see that days a difference as compared to how it was initially. So that's how compression can help you. Another alternative would have been for me to amplify this, too. I'm afraid this to a certain level and amplify this to a certain level for that they too good much. But I'm trying too much them just as they are using compression. So that's one way that compression can help you to get your audio quality to be slightly, much better in case there is some parity in the audio when you're recording. So for me, the mistake was the microphone recording volume went down at a certain point. Here, at least, using the city compression have been able to bring some consistency using compression and just normalising the audio so it will not be as perfect as it would have been if the audio would have been consistent wrote. But this is still a better alternative than having to just normalize the audio without compressing it. So in this video, you've seen how you can compress your audio and just use the same skills to make your do better in compression. That's not that the more you compressed audio off course, the sound quality will also deteriorate, so it just better off recording good quality sound, and then you do a bit of compression and then you can amplify it and that will give you much better audio quality. So if you have any questions, feel free to let me know, and I will see you next time.
