About This Class
Have you ever had an idea for a mobile app? How many times have you taken that idea and turned it into something real? The truth is: you don't have to program to share your idea with the world. In this course, you'll learn how to create a compelling visual "mock" of your app. This mock will help you understand your idea more deeply, clearly evaluate the pros and cons, and get better feedback from others.
I'll walk through my process for mocking up an app idea while guiding you through your project and giving you a quick taste of the fundamentals. This includes things like user empathy, user feedback, color, typography, navigational elements, hierarchy and much more. It will be a fun, creative, and useful project that exposes you to the many dimensions of app design.
This course is designed with beginners in mind. It's intended for someone with little to no experience with any field of design (i.e. product, graphic, brand, print, etc.). I hope you'll join me!
I am a product designer with 5+ years of experience in human-centered design, product design, human-computer interaction, and graphic design. I gradated from Stanford with a degree in Product Design and a focus in human-computer interaction.
After earning my degree, I was selected for a design fellowship at the venture capitalist firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers. I've worked at small startups like Nextdoor and Coursera (my current employer), as well as large companies like Lenovo. Freelance clients include Google, Rickshaw Bagworks, Ritual Coffee Roasters, and a number of early stage startups.
I love to learn and share what I learn with others online. I am grateful for the opportunity to engage and grow with the many thoughtful and creative individuals in the Skillshare community.
