1. Introduction: Hello and welcome in this little after effects class and project in this class, I'm going to teach you exactly this animation. We'll greet direct angles. We will keep framed them. We'll use the graphic desert of east those key frames and we will make this animation as an entire complete project. It is a a lot of fun to do something like that. And I really hope this will teach you useful after effects work, full tapes, shortcuts. And overall, this will be a great skill snack for you. So if you're interested, you can be done within half an hour. If you want to create this product, start holding the lessons right now. I'm already waiting for you. Self. Don't waste time. 2. Create the rectangles: hello and welcome at this beautiful day where we will create this kind of animation Now, as you can see, this animation is not too difficult to create. But it's difficult to have an idea on how to approach this. How could you do this? And I want to show you this step by step. It's really a very simple process, so let me walk you through it at first off course, you can imagine that you'd need a composition and you are completely right in that regard. Please make a full HD composition. It could be smaller, but it doesn't really matter because we can work on this big screen. I'll make 30 frames because I prefer it so and 30 seconds will be definitely too much. Let's start with our standard five seconds and we can go from there. Okay, this is our new composition, and maybe before we proceed, I will quickly select the color. You can select any color you want, but I'll go to view extensions. I'll quickly open. It'll be caller themes. Maybe. Let's place it here, so I have it at hand and I'll just explore a nice color scheme. I always like those sunset Those oranges. So why not use them? I'll press here, control. Why? I'll make my pick. Whip, I'll use it to create my background. Okay. Finally. This looks a bit better now. I can call this with my enter key BG and I can look this layer down. Nothing will move. Okay, let me start the work. At first we will create direct ings And this will be your quest for this first lesson. Once you have a background police open direct angle tool, you can click and select the rectangle tool. And you want those rectangles to be filled with. You do not want to stroke, so I will select a stroke. I select none and I press ok, All right now creating the film. I will also change the color. So at least it goes well together with my little color scheme here, maybe let me start out with this or injures or this, like reddish deep orange one and pressing down my shift key, I'll create the first rectangle. Don't mind this. We will have the first shape. This will be our first rectangle and okay, we will work with exactly that for the sake off this lesson. I think it will be good if we create six per six squares. Maybe I made this a bit to be make this smaller with my shift key again if you have the first ready selected in the timeline and press control or comment if you are on like Dee dee dee Dee Dee. 123456 elements Exactly now in the next lesson, we will start to move and key frame it. But here, in this lesson, I would want to make one more step on the timeline, select the very 1st 1 press your shift key and select the 6th 1 so all of them are selected and I would like to move them a little bit to the left side. Now the 1st 1 is already placed, so I'll set up my control key. No de selected first. Now I want to move it to the left with, Let's say, my shift key left. Maybe let's say we'll move it two times, so press shift and you'll press left two times. Now again, control de select the next one shift shift de select shift shift. The select shift left left De select shift left left. I did this because in the next lesson I'll make a small movement with them. But I don't want the movement to be too long and write. This would be your work for the first lesson. I hope you are following at this stage. You should have a new composition. You should have a background. And you should have six rectangles next to each other like that if you have, um, police continues in the next lesson, and we will go and animate those objects from nerve. See you in the brief moment. What? 3. Establish the initial animation: Welcome back. We have those objects. And actually, I should maybe set him apart instantly at disposition. So we see the end result. But okay. I didn't let me show you how we will make this entire animation now. Open shape. Layer number one. You could eventually rename it to, like, wrecked one, so you will remember it more easily. But that doesn't matter. I have wrecked month. I opened its content. I opened its rectangle and I want to work with the transform rectangle options you might think. Why don't I work with the normal transform options? Because I want to use the normal transform options to work with their position and not apply any key frame here. All the key frames, I'll apply. I want to apply inside of the transform, which are from the rectangle property. Okay, let me select instantly my scale at my position. When it comes to the position, let me select and start. But 10 frames when it comes to the position. Heil key. Frame it. I will go. 123 maybe four frames forward and I want to move it. You can do it like that. Negative 40. You just write like that and it will automatically at 40 pixels to the left side. So it's negative. 67. I just need to remember how many pixels I added. Okay, 40 pixels is my magical number in this animation. I'll go back to this 10 frame point. I'll open this scale key frame, and I want to start with zero page down, page down, page down, page down, going four frames forward. I wanted to be 100%. Now, this would be my cool animation, and you might not see exactly what's happening. So let me de select ALS other ones and sorry, and let me focus on just this one object boom. We haven't animation like that a bit boring, how to make it very quickly, more interesting. At first, I would enable motion blur for this entire composition, and I want to enable motion blur for this object. I'll also enable motion blur for all those objects. If you don't see this press F four on your keyboard, Okay, Now we have this little blur when it's failing in because this is a quick innovation washed . All right, so the blur appears Now the nation is very static very normal. So you want to select all those key frames you created those four grief key frames you want to, right? Click a key frame assistant, and you want to easy eased. Um, now the information will be a bit more balance. Yeah, it starts out of its slower than it. It pops on the screen. We have this player, so I believe we are ready with the key frames ready with the initial animation, we want to apply to those rectangles. Let's not make too much things at one time in this lesson, your quest wants to create those key frames for this rectangle. You need to open the transformer rectangle options. You need to make position and scale key friends. Very simple. Once you express Kiefer in pre frame, you go full frings forward. You make negative 40 frames here anyway, can animation going from the scale 0 to 100 at this one? Okay, we are done. Cut it and let's see each other in the next lesson because this will be a very essential lesson to this entire animation 4. Set the rectangles apart: All right. We have those key frames from the first rectangle. The first rectangle appears like that. You want to go to the shape layer above it, you will open it. Its contents. It's rectangle. It's transform rectangle options. And you simply need to select position and scale. And you'll need to press control V here. This will apply it to the perfect spot. You will need to go one by one, maybe select with the shift key. Opened them all open its transform. Not sorry. Not transform. Opened its content opened its rectangle and in the transform rectangle at the 10 frame mark you press control V. This will apply it to the appropriate position you need to open transform rectangle one. Sadly, we have to repeat this for all the steps. Soil select number five continents rectangle. Remember to stay at the perfect position. Here. Rectangle four. Where is it? Contents rectangle. France four. Do we have it here? Do we have it here? OK, I'll just continue working like that. Transform contents, rectangles, boom. And the last one contents rectangle and do Okay, I Oprah's my Yuki, so I will see. Okay, All of those rectangles have this little animation and you see my mistakes from the first lesson, Ayotte needs to make those rectangles to be apart from each other. So go at the end of this animation. And now the only thing you need to select its press p on your keyboard with this peaky, you'll have the exact position off those rectangles. What would be the simplest way of doing this? The simplest way of doing this is writing the number from the 1st 1 So they again are all in the same position. And now I also like this one and maybe right here and negative 100 just to check it out. 100 is too much. Okay, negative. 50. Too little negative. 65. A bit too much. So the perfect spot in my case will be, like, negative 60. So I just need to reiterate here you can write Negative 16. Negative. 60. Go on up and was right. Negative. 1 80 Okay, going up. Negative to 14. And the last one. Negative. 300. Ok, perfect. I have none of those rectangles separately. One after another. Boom. Having an animation like that? Of course, this is not the end of the animation because we have still a lot of work ahead of us. So let me start the initial changes. Okay? You've established at this point having the rectangles separate from each other, and they have all the same information, which is a great basis to our animation. Now we can move forward with interesting things. Of course, all those things we are doing here are interesting. But now we can move forward with the animation, and I believe this will be something very cool. So let's head to the next lesson and I'll show you how to separate everything to make it look a bit cooler, because right now this is a normal, simple, boring information. 5. Prepare a backdrop and pre-compose: Okay. I made this difficult on myself. But how do we want to separate them? At first, I would like to stagger them a little bit. My at least one frame with your shift key. Select as always, everything. De select the 1st 1 because the 1st 1 is okay. Press your left old key on your keyboard or option, kid. If you are on Mac and press page down, you can, of course, also grabbed them and just move them. One frame forward. I'll make this smaller, but this is kind of my workflow. I like to use those shortcuts by pressing control de selecting it, pressing old and pressing page down. It's really a quick workflow do boom. All right. And right now you would have animation like this. Okay, you can see finally. This is something. This is the initial animation we want to use for our entire thing. So in order toe, try, connect and use this Somehow we need to pre composed this entire element. Telebras The 1st 1 I press shift in the last one. Right click. Pre composed and rank tangles. Line one. Perfect. This is our perfect first line of rectangles. You can see. We have six rectangles, so we also would need six copies of it. 123456 All right, now again, I would like to stagger them, because this way, this would be too boring. So again, you just fold control. Old page down, old page dumb Hold page down. Control, Click old page down. All right, Right now they overlap each other. So of course you see nothing. Not we have toe place them somehow. And in this case, I also pressed are and I gave it a 45 degrees rotation as to make it more off a rumbles Rectangle like that. This little element. Okay, we know the 1st 1 will start somewhere here and right at this point, we should create a rectangle which will be like a background for that. So you want to select a background? A normal rectangle? Of course, it would need another color. Any color you want and you want to place this on the bottom between the background and between direct angle line. I'll call this little beady. Yeah, Bgh. Okay. Press are rotated as well. 45 degrees and try pressing the wiki and make it smaller, place it here, press s and try to make it smaller. So it aligns with object. We already have some things like that. Maybe a bit bigger. I'll come closer with my arrow keys. I'll make the last adjustments. And yet right now, I believe this is a perfect cover up off course. Apart from the color, we had such a cool color. I somehow lost it because I reset. Aftereffect mitt, it doesn't matter. The colors can be always changed. All right. You have the background you have directing was prepared. Now we have to move and set them apart. And this will be the beginning off our great animation. Let me stop here. Let us continue in the next lesson. Because this is the essential item we are creating when it comes to days. Very animation. 6. Duplicate the rectangles: Okay, We have our backdrop. You have everything. Now select the next record angle line, which is which should be appearing. And you need to reposition it. I'll make this with the shift keys. Perfect. No, I should select all of them. And I should start to reposition them accordingly. As you can see, a very nicely snap. Of course. I will need to make those gaps, I believe smaller. But right now I'm using my shift key, which automatically moves it. More frames than it should. Okay. 123456 It appears five would be eventually enough. Okay, This is definitely too much. This will look good, but we need to, of course, make the gaps between them March March smaller. I wouldn't trust that by using my arrow keys. And I owned those gaps to be really equal. Okay. Work your way through that. The select an excellent Come closer with the other ones and this. Look, read this really nice looking entire rectangle. Okay? We are getting closer and maybe the last one as well boom like that. Okay, Right now we have the rectangle we created before pretty filled out. We could select all of them may be a bit higher. And this would be the initial animation which we use toe fill out this rectangle. They are a bit quick, but remember, you can always go into you in here. You can select all of them. You can press you and you could set them all a bit further away. This would make the animation a bit smaller. I mean slower yet on the mission. The smaller Okay, like this. Let me preview how this looks now. Really a beautiful animation. I'm really proud of it. And from here I could move forward. I would again select with my shift key. All of them. I would pre compose them, and I was select him. Rectangle animation one. We have a rectangle animation one. We have rectangle animation to set a few frames forward apart. And why am I doing to animations Just because I can? And just because they could have separate colors, you can always right click layer styles and select color overlay, as you can see, if we overlay another color and not this ugly red, but something that will be more aligned with what? We actually create this Look great this little like backdrop on them. You can see the further we set him apart, the bigger the backdrop course, The colors are very similar now, maybe even two similar. But I'll just test it out with a blue collar just to see the results. I have Okay, not dismiss a bit too crazy, but you get the idea with that, we get another coloristic on top of it. And this would be a very beautiful start to our animation. The great thing here is we have those free elements. We can link them together and we can move them around and they will always be perfect together. And right now, I would maybe focused on the this blues completely ugly. But I just wanted to show you the principle of doing those two pre composed rectangle animations. This is the most important part off this class because I wanted to show you how to create those rectangles. But here, I'll maybe expand upon that a little bit and show you a few tricks with the background, at least very small ones. And then let's round everything up with making it a better color. Because right now, those colors are purple, brown, blue and orange E, which completely doesn't work together. Please create those rectangles, duplicate them, pre composed them, and you should be at this point at this point, I'll show you what to do with this rectangle in the back. 7. Adjusting the pace and coloristic: hello and welcome in the next lesson where I would want to create a simple animation for this rectangle before those those little direct angles here start appear. I want this to pop into the screen and you can see the anchor point. Is that a weird position? But you wouldn't worry about that because we created a vector shape so we can always open this go into rectangle goingto the transform rectangle options. And we don't have to use those normal transform options in the transform rectangle. I definitely will work with this scale into a deputation at the beginning, collect on the rotation and make it like we have a zero. So we won't like negative 100 maybe 30%. And going forward, maybe 20 frames. We want it back to zero back to its original position. Don't worry about those, because we can always move them around and we can place the animation further away. So this will be a normal rotation. But this rotation also needs a scale scale zero going to the initial point 100 this way, way have this round coming in animation again. I would like to open it with I forgot to create all those motion blurs and this scale in this rotation keep. Things are very boring, so you should select them. He should write, like, key frame assistant, and you should Eazy e's them going into the graph editor. Or if you want to have a little fun with the graph editor, select bold key frames you just created and place them forward so the animation will be a bit slower the beginning. Then it'll peak about here. Look at that. All right. Perfect The rectangle. It's not too much off rotation because I remember that starting 0.0, so make it like negative 120 degrees. This is completely enough when it comes to those simple animations. Right now, the innovation starts to complete The last step I would want here. I could eventually add something to direct angle, but I don't want to waste your time. At this point, I would like to deftly just the course and let me please quickly do this. You can adjust the cars off this rectangle by changing the fill off this background by unlocking it pressing control shift. Why, which is going into the solid options and those rectangles. As I remember, we used the color over late. Yet we have the color overlay. You can open both of these. You have the layer styles and you have the color overlay. We have the color here. Transform. We have no color overlay on the 2nd 1 but this can be changed by just taking control. C and Control V here. OK, we have color overlay here as well. And let me change now all their stupid colors I have here. Okay, there colors are a tiny bit better. I have something like that. And if you would like to round this animation up by having it on the screen and floating off off the screen, you just select all of this. Apart from the background, your select control shift, see to pre compose you selected, you duplicated right click time. And you time reverse this layer somewhere at the end of this layer. As it appeared, it will start to disappear. You just need to catch this moment. You need to make this shorter places where you want him to make this shorter as well. So it disappears. You kind of have to connect them. And right now, the beginning would be the entrance. Maybe here it should start to disappear. So the intermission is quick, swift, and here we would eventually place a logo. Let's say that you have here in logo your dragon, the logo, your displaced local here and the logo would be invisible at the beginning. It would be behind this. And now logo would become visible. Very cool, swift and fun animation to learn. I'll even make the shorter and look at that. We managed to create a three second animation. I really enjoy those quick motion graphics. I really enjoy those animations. So I'm a big fan off short transitions like motion graphics and those little motion elements we have here on the screen. And this way I have created this very fluent motion. Three seconds is a bit too little forties. I would give it a bit more time so it stays on the screen, at least for one second. Boom. We can watch what happens and it disappears again. Thank you so much for listening to this lesson. I really hope this is enjoyable for you. You did create the animation with me. It might be a struggle with some places, especially. Maybe the problem which I did wrong here was placing those rectangles. I make those shift left left keys, and in the end, it wasn't necessary because I made the end of the same animations to all of them. And at the very end, we made negative 60 negative 60 negative 60. And that did work better. So it doesn't matter. How do you do this? But I would like you to create something similar emotion element like that. And in the end, you just have it nice color. And you should have animation, which looks somewhat similar to what we have here every quick, nice and fluent animation coming onto the screen.
