Step by Step Instructions: hello and welcome to class. In this lesson, I'll show you the step by step, real time process of creating an animated slide exactly like the one in this class you can practice using the font and color that we use in class I'll be using Put it one bold fawn and Google steam colors. However, when you create your animated slide for your class, think about the tone, the style and the mood that you want to communicate. Let's get started. The slide change transition. We will use our for the word animate. We're gonna fly in from the right on clique for one second. The word your were gonna fly in from the bottom with previous for one second the word class , we're gonna fly in from the top with previous for one second. The words intra with are together and we are going to fly in from left with previous for one second for the word Google. We're gonna flying from the bottom with each single letter of the whole word. One letter after the other for 10.3 seconds and then for the word slides were gonna fly in from the left after previous for half a second. This will make sense when you're actually doing the project. There's a coffee of this slide for you to download in the class project section below, so you can print it up, put it beside you to know what action that you'll be performing in the change Transition part of Google Slides. Okay, let's start by pulling up Google slides. Just go to Google and type in Google Slides and you'll come to to this image Click uncle slides and select a blank slide, and it will default on one of the themes that Google has provided for you on the right side , you can use any of these at any time, but for our project, we just want a blank layout. So we're gonna come to layout and click on Blank and then you can title. I'm gonna call mine animated slides. Let's come to text box and click it and just click and drag on. We're gonna write the word Anna meat. I'm going to select the whole word and come up and select the thought that I want. And the size 60 I wanted Bold could see that I have to make the little bigger so I just dragged it along on the color that this is going to be will be Google blue. I customized and put the Google colors down here because the subject of my class is Google Slides. So keeping in the tone and the mood on the style that I want to create, I won't use a clean phone. And I want to use Google colors. I'm gonna change the color to Google dark blue and just center it around where I think it's going to be. Now I'm going to copy and paste and move this over. You can come up each time and create a brand new text box, but this already has the size and the thought that I want. So I'm happy to just copy and paste and then just change the word. This will be the word your and it's gonna be in Google Red Select and make it Google red. And then I'm going to copy and paste around where I think it's going to go and then change my word here to class. And that's gonna be in Google yellow and then copy and paste. I'm just move it over and this will say intro with intro with I wanted all lower case. I'm just gonna come over and this is going to be in Google Light Blue. Okay, at this point, I've got my 1st 2 lines. I want to center them a little bit better. So I'm gonna come to animate and just drag that a bit, come to your class, and I want to select everything and move it towards the centre top. Make room for the words Google and slides now want to test my animation? I want animate to flying from the right. I want your to flying from from the bottom. I want class to fly in from the top and intra with to fly in from the left. And I wanted to do it all at the same time because this is my very first slide. I want to control when it comes in. So I'm gonna select that I control it on the very first click. You can have your slides very smoothly run one after the other. But for the very first slide, I like to start with a click so I can control it. So I'm gonna come to animate and then come over to slide Select change transition. And over here it changes. And while it's select it, make sure it's selected one add animation on. I want this to fly in from the right. So I select flying from the right on clique is fine and I want it one second. All of these are going to be one second until we get to the next word, which is Google. I'm going to select your I want to add animation. Your will be flying in from the bottom. Now, This time I want it to fly in with previous because I want this all to happen in the same 1st 2nd Now select class add animation. I wanted to fly in from the top with previous for a second, So I'm gonna select the time and then select intra with add animation. And now I want this to come in from the left, fly in from the left with previous for a second. Let's test this. I'm gonna click play. It's not gonna do anything until I click somewhere on my keyboard. Out of habit. I just use my down key. Here we go. Perfect. It all came in together. No, I'm just going to click anywhere on my slide on. Let's go on to the word Google. I'm gonna come up to my text box and type G changed my font of my size. Make it bold. This will be the dark blue. I need to spell out the whole word and make a text box for every letter. So I'm just going to copy and paste and estimate where that should be And this will be in O lower case. Oh, in Google. Red was gonna copy paste well, that over just a little bit. And this will be Google yellow and then copy paste, Move it over. And this will be Google light blue copy paste for the l Change that to l. And that will be Google green. And then our last letter is a red E. So I'm just gonna copy the O and move it over. Just change it to an So the spacing of that looks pretty good. I'm just going to move this up a little bit now the word Google. We want each letter to fly it from the bottom faster than the one second here, So we're going to use 10.3 seconds, and we want this whole process to take place after intra with and then they're gonna go one after the other. So let's select G add animation. We want this to fly in from the bottom this time we wanted after. So, after previous, which was our blue intra with and the speed is gonna be 0.3. So let's do each of them exact same way fly in from the bottom after previous 0.3. Add animation flying from the bottom after previous 0.3. Add animation 0.3 last two letters and final letter lying from the bottom after previous 1.3 seconds. Let's test that again By pressing play. Nothing's gonna happen because it's waiting for me to click something. So I'm just gonna click anywhere. Perfect. That worked out exactly the way that I wanted it to. Now our very last thing is to put in the word slide. So I'm just gonna select the green letter L because slides is gonna be the Google green color. So copy and paste put it down to the bottom, make this nice and wide and tight slides and move it over. We're gonna add animation we're going toe have this word fly in from the left after previous and this time from 0.5 seconds. Half a second. Let's take a look. Is everything where we wanted to be thinking about the whole thing up a little bit, Something to select everything. Just move it up. It looks pretty good. Now it's press play. There it is. Let's look and see what it looks like in a presentation. So I'm going to come up to present Rachel. Everything goes away. Click and see what happens. There it is. It's clean. It's animated. It's energetic. I've used the Google colors to communicate the mood and style of this class. You know what I'm teaching, and this creates a great first impression in the first few seconds of class. Your class project is to create an animated Google slide for your next class and then please share the class link in the project section below for us all to take a look. Thank you for taking this class. It was a pleasure to teach, and I hope that you join us on airy north dot com for creative news
