Project Description

Create a symbolic self-portrait.

Now that you've watched the lessons, put them into action! Your assignment is to create a symbolic self-portrait. The size is up to you. The technique is up to you.

Start with a description of yourself (3-5 sentences is fine), and then explore what associations and meanings emerge.

Do not make a physical likeness. Instead, consider using: symbols, illustrative elements, color fields, objects, animals, maps, diagrams, or shapes. Everything — including the background — should help explain who and what you are.

Your goal is to communicate your physical, psychological, and historical self. Have fun doing this! You are both the client and the designer. It is your life.
